An hours reflection is better than standing in Salaah for an entire night (Ahmad). An hour of meditation is worth a year of worship (Ibn Abee Shaibah). The best deed of Abu Zharr (ra) 'Meditation and taking lessons from others' (Ahmad).

The best late night prayer is the one in the middle of the latter half of the night - but very few do it (Ahmad), the 2 Nafl at the end of Eisha is sufficient, view Surah 39 v9 which refers to Uthman (ra) (Ibn Abi Hatim). Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 37 The Ascetic Abu Zharr (ra) advises... To love the poor and be close to them To look at those who are below and not those who are above. To keep ties no matter how far they are... To recite a Zhikir which is a hidden treasure (Ahmad). The best deeds... To believe in Allah SWT Help the weak or the one who cannot work Refrain from harming others Enjoin the good & forbid the evil... Any of these qualities leads to The Garden of Eternity (Tabarani). Taqwa is the fountain-head of all affairs. Recite the Quran and engage in Zhkir as this is a light for you in the world and a treasure in the hereafter.
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 41 The Ascetic A Treasure of Knowledge. Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 39 The Ascetic The Accursed Dajjaal A few of the notable companions swear that Ibn Say'yaad is the The Dajjaal. The Umrah with The Dajjaal.
The Ascetic Be content and you will be the most grateful of the people (Ibn Majah). There is no intelligence like astute planning. No piety like abstinence from the unlawful No nobility as excellent as good character (Ibn Hibaan). Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 35 The Ascetic Supplications The right measure of supplication compared to one's pious deeds should be just like the right quantity of salt that is added to food (Ibn Abi Shaibah). Good deeds should be performed before making a supplication, Good deeds should be numerous as compared to the supplication, Good deeds become tasteless with supplication, The supplication should be concise. The best form of worship is supplication (Haakim). For whoever the door of supplication is opened, then in reality, ALL the doors of mercy are opened (Tirmidhi). There is nothing more nobler in the Sight of Allah SWT than supplication (Ahmad). The portion of the world that benefits the hereafter is not harmful, yet the portion that only benefits the world is harmful (Kanzal Ummal).
The Ascetic The Love of Horses There is not a single horse except that it makes a supplication every morning, "make me more beloved to him than his family, wealth & children!" (Ahmad). The Arabian horse makes 2 supplicatins every morning (Nasaa'ee). In extension this could explain why the owners of pets have love & affection for them. A time will come when man will be envied for the speed of his travelling vehicle... (Abu Nu'aym). The Last Hour will not arrive until the distance of the Earth shrinks impossibly closer to each other (Tabarani). During the last period of my Ummah the people will use forms of transport other than flesh & bone (Haakim) view Surah 16:8.
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 32 The Ascetic The oppressor is cursed. He who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy and he who does not forgive will not be forgiven (Ahmad). Whoever harms a Muslim unjustly, it is as though he has demolished the Kaba (Tabarani). The believer is more honourable in the Sight of Allah SWT than even the Angels (Baihaqi). The worst form of usury is the violation of the personal honour of a Muslim (Baihaqi) & Surah Al Ahzaab 33:58. A good attitude is a Blessing and a bad attitude is a calamity. Birr (piety) lengthens life and charity prevents a bad death (Tirmidhi). Controlling Anger Whilst Abu Zharr (ra) was watering his animals, a man unintentionally breaks the water trough. Abu Zharr (ra) sat down then layed down! (As advised by The Messenger ﷺ ).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 33 The Ascetic Controlling Anger The Messenger ﷺ addresses Alee (ra) 'Salawaatul'laahu'alyah.' Avoid a matter that would require an apology (Daylamee). "...who restrain their anger and pardon mankind, indeed Allah SWT loves those of excellence" Surah 3:134. Get into the habit of Restraining your anger and Paradise will be yours (Tabarani).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 30 The Ascetic The Lips & 2 Angels - Surah 33 v56. The rich can gain extra rewards as they give more in charity, however others can make up after the obligatory Salah with Takbeer,Tahmeed and Tasbeeh... Thus the sins are forgiven even if they are like the foam of the ocean (Abu Dawood). The miser is the one who hears the name of The Messenger ﷺ and does not send salutations (and the path to paradise passes by) (Ibn Abee Aasim). Every supplication is kept veiled until Blessings are invoked upon The Messenger ﷺ & his family (Tabarani). 2 Angels near your Lips guarding The Salutations sent to The Messenger ﷺ. Whenever salutations are sent the 2 Angels say "May Allah SWT forgive you", Allah SWT replies "Ameen" (Tabarani) & Surah 33 v56. Allah SWT sends Salat & salam upon the one who sends salutations upon The Messenger ﷺ (Ahmad).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 31 The Ascetic Silence on The Tongue Make an abundance of silence obligatory, for it will repel Shaytaan and will help you in your Deen (Baihaqi). 2 traits which are light upon the back but heavier than others in the Scales.. good manners & prolonged silence... There are no deeds the creation has performed like them (Tabarani). Silence, good character and abandoning what does not benefit are light deeds but heavy on the scales (Ibn Abee Dunya). All disasters result from spoken words (Daylamee). If the recording Angels demanded money for books they use, you would quit your useless talk, yet these very books are presented in The Divine Court (Ibn Asaakir). Allah SWT will conceal the faults of the person who restrains his tongue (Abu Ya'laa). 2 rams lock their horns. Indeed, Allah SWT will decide between them on the last Day (Ahmad). There is not an animal on the earth nor a bird that flies withs its wings but forms communities like yours... Surah Al An'aam 6:38. On the last day the accounts of the animals, birds... will be settled first. The unbelievers will say, Woe to me that I were dust Surah Al Naba 78:40.
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 29 The Ascetic لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ If you happen to fall into a sin, then perform a good deed quickly For it willl wipe it away. And the Kalima is the best of deeds (Ahmad). The best Zhikir is Laailaaha Illalaah (Tirmidhi). Verily the good deeds remove that which is evil, Surah 11 v114. The expressions which are most beloved to Allah SWT.... Subhaana Rabee Wabi Hamdihee (Muslim). Abu Zharr (ra) was ordered to recite one of the treasures... لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ (Ahmad).َّ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ Leads to a door from the doors of Paradise (Haakim). No day shall he be afflicted with poverty (ibn Abi Dunyaa). Safeguards a bounty (Targeeb). The Angels recite this to fly from earth (Tirmidhi).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 28 The Ascetic To be alone is better to sit with a bad companion. To sit with a pious companion is better than being alone Speaking what is good is better than being silent And remaining silent is better than speaking evil (Baihaqi). ...O Abu Zharr (ra) I seek refuge in Allah SWT from the devils of the Mankind & Jinn... (Ahmad). And we did make for every Prophet (as) enemies from amongst the devils of Men & of Jinn who have been inspiring one another with the golden ornamentation speech of delusion , Surah 6 v112. At the mere Mention if the pious, The Divine Mercy descends (Ahmad). O Abu Zharr (ra) Mend the ship (your character) for the sea is deep. Take all of the provisions (good deeds) for the journey is long. Lighten the load (attachment to the world) for the obstacles are difficult; And Make sincere your actions, for The Critic (SWT) is All-seeing, (Ibn Hajar rah).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 26 The Ascetic Secret Sadaqah extinguishes the Lords SWT anger, Preserving kinship ties, increasing one's life-span & rendering good to people protects from evil fatalities (Tabarani).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 27 The Ascetic The worst Ghulool with Allah SWT is a mere yard of land that is when you find 2 neighbors in a land or home and one of them illegally acquires a yard of his neighbours land. When he does that he will then be tied with it from the 7 earths on the Last Day (Ahmad). Beware of Shuh (avarice- the greed of others possessions) for Indeed Shuh destroyed those before you (Haakim), Surah 59 v9. The most superiorJihaad is to strive against your lower self and desires (Ibn Asaakir).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 24 The Ascetic Poor Man, Rich Man (Bukhari). O Abu Zharr (ra), this person [wearing worn out clothing] is better in the sight of Allah SWT on The last Day than the entire earth filled with the one wearing wealthy attire (Ahmad). Being wealthy is to have a rich heart and being destitute means to have a poor heart... (Ibn Hibbaan). Whoever loses out on a large share of wealth in the worldly life will be compensated in the Hereafter with a good deed (Fathul Baaree). Ju'ayl ibn Suraaqah al Dhimree (ra) is entrusted with Faith, whilst Uyanah & Aqra (rah) are given camels (Ibn Ishaaq).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 25 The Ascetic The 3 partners in Wealth For the majority of the believers what is little and sufficient is far better than the abundant and alluring. Give your wealth in charity and you might perhaps get relief from the severities of the world. Greed is killing you whilst you can never fulfil it (Ibn Abee Dunyaa). They breed what they will bury. They build what will eventually be destroyed. They hold firmly to what is temporary, And They foraskew the everlasting, Abu Zharr (ra). The 3 partners in wealth; Predestination, Heir & You. Thus you strive your utmost and never be the most helpless of the 3. You will never attain piety until you spend out of that which you love (not which is spare) Surah 3 v92. The one rich in his heart will not be harmed by what they face in the world Whilst the one poor in his heart will not be enriched by how much they acquire of this world (Tabrani). Different types of Sadaqah The forms of charity.... Takbeer, Tasbeeh, Tahleel, Tahmeed, Laailaaha'il lal'laah, seeking forgiveness, enjoining the good & forbidding the evil, removing thorns/rocks from a path, guiding a blind man... (Nasaa'ee).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 23 The Ascetic Wealth ...O Abu Zharr (ra) the rich would be poor on The Last Day except for the generous (which are only a few) (Muslim). O Abu Zharr (ra) I turn to the lesser and you turn to the greater I intend the Hereafter whilst you intend this world (Bazzar). The Messenger ﷺ never kept anything for the next day (Baihaqi).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 21 The Ascetic Laylatul Qadr Laylatul Qadr remains till the Last day... (Haakim). Had people not left their Salaah except for that one night, I would now have informed you (Lalatul Qadr) (Tabarani). 'You are a nation for whom Allah SWT wants ease' (Ahmad). Whoever is deprived of its Blessings (the night of Qadr) is then deprived of All Good (Naaa'ee).
