Will Steel flew fast jets for the Royal Air Force, walked away from a dream British Airways 747 posting, and spent 15 years leading transformational programs to 90,000 people worldwide. Now he's written the book he always believed was impossible to write — Free to Lead. In this episode, Will breaks down why your biggest obstacle isn't your circumstances — it's the decision a 3-year-old version of you made that you've been living out ever since. We talk about the Islamic concept of Fitra (your true natural essence), ontological coaching, why speaking the truth out loud is the fastest path to freedom, and how to lead authentically when you've spent years playing a role. Whether you're a young person figuring out who you are, a leader stuck in overdrive, or someone curious about what's actually underneath the anxiety — this one's for you. If you've ever felt like leadership requires you to “put the suit on” and pretend you've got it all handled, this one will hit you right between the eyes. In this episode of Leadership That Sells, I'm joined by Will Steel, RAF veteran, high-performance coach, and author of Free to Lead. Will's worked with close to 100,000 people, and he has a gift for getting underneath the surface fast. We unpack the masks leaders wear, why so many founders burn out before they ever get a breakthrough, and how the real bottleneck is almost never “the business”. It's you. Your energy, your health, your beliefs, your need for approval, your fear of being seen. Will's core message is simple and confronting: stop performing leadership and start being you. Not the polished persona. The real you. That's where sustainable performance and real impact comes from. How to lead from identity, not ego, without burning out Notice the “act” you put on at work, and where it stops working (often at home first). Get brutally clear on the vision: once you're clear, the path becomes clear, then it's action and accountability. Stop telling people what to do; make them accountable for outcomes and let them self-generate the “how”. Replace drifting with structure: schedule your life, follow your schedule, and treat exercise and sleep like non-negotiables. Strip back limiting beliefs by tracing the story to its origin (often a childhood interpretation posing as “truth”). Practise real authenticity: acknowledge when you've been inauthentic, apologise, and choose a better way forward. Timeline summary [01:00] - Leadership without slogans: surfacing the patterns that actually create momentum [02:17] - The “strong leader” mask: confidence as performance, and the cost of wearing it [03:37] - Founders build a monster, then feel trapped inside it [06:06] - Clarity creates action: vision first, then accountability [07:20] - It's never the business problem: start with sleep, exercise, food, and time [10:39] - Stop telling people what to do: hold them accountable for outcomes instead [13:27] - Real leadership is causing others to be leaders, not acting like you've got it all figured out [18:51] - Will's RAF story: “you're like a ghost” and the moment he chose to be himself [22:01] - Fitra: your true essence, and why leadership is being your true self in any environment [23:58] - The only real authenticity: being authentic about being inauthentic [28:32] - Limiting beliefs: the three-year-old decision that quietly runs your adult life [33:41] - Reading isn't enough: the book works when you do the exercises and take action [38:09] - The final message: just start. #ShaykhIbrahimZidan #ZADAcademy #Quran #Hadith #IslamicPodcasts #IslamicStudiesResearch The Essence of Tarbiyah Islamiyah: Islamic Nurturing and Development Introduction Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. I'm Zayd Haji from Zad Academy. Our study on Tarbiyah Islamiyah highlights its crucial role in shaping our faith and character according to Islamic principles through Qur'anic and Hadith guidance. Understanding Tarbiyah Islamiyah Tarbiyah Islamiyah is the Islamic process of nurturing character, morals, and faith based on Qur'anic and Sunnah teachings, guiding every aspect of life from childhood onward. In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah (SWT) says: O believers! Enter into Islam wholeheartedly and do not follow Satan's footsteps. Surely he is your sworn enemy. (Qur'an, 2:208) This verse underlines the necessity of embracing Islam fully, which includes continuous self-improvement and development through Tarbiyah. The Role of Knowledge in Tarbiyah Islam places great importance on the acquisition of knowledge as a means to nurture the soul and intellect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated: "Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim, and he who imparts knowledge to those who do not deserve it, is like one who puts a necklace of jewels, pearls and gold around the neck of swines." (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 224) Grade: Da'if (Darussalam) Knowledge is the foundation of Tarbiyah, essential for understanding and practicing Islam correctly. Without it, living by Islamic principles is difficult. In another verse, Allah (SWT) elevates those who seek knowledge: O believers! When you are told to make room in gatherings, then do so. Allah will make room for you ˹in His grace˺. And if you are told to rise, then do so. Allah will elevate those of you who are faithful, and ˹raise˺ those gifted with knowledge in rank. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (Qur'an, 58:11) This highlights the spiritual and societal elevation that comes with proper Islamic education and nurturing. The Importance of Fitrah and Tarbiyah Islam teaches that every human being is born with a natural disposition towards faith, known as fitrah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: No babe is born but upon Fitra. It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist. A person said: Allah's Messenger, what is your opinion if they were to die before that (before reaching the age of adolescence when they can distinguish between right and wrong)? He said: It is Allah alone Who knows what they would be doing. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2658e) Tarbiyah is crucial in preserving this innate inclination towards Tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and ensuring that it is nurtured through Islamic teachings. The Qur'an reinforces this concept: So be steadfast in faith in all uprightness ˹O Prophet˺—the natural Way of Allah which He has instilled in ˹all˺ people. Let there be no change in this creation of Allah. That is the Straight Way, but most people do not know. (Qur'an, 30:30) Through proper Tarbiyah, Muslims can maintain their fitrah and grow in their faith. The Comprehensive Nature of Tarbiyah Tarbiyah Islamiyah goes beyond rituals to include ethics, behavior, and social interactions. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of good character. Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: The Prophet (ﷺ) never used bad language neither a "Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character." Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 3559 This Hadith underscores that Tarbiyah aims to develop a well-rounded individual who embodies Islamic virtues in all areas of life. Conclusion Tarbiyah Islamiyah is a lifelong journey of nurturing faith, character, and conduct to please Allah (SWT). By seeking knowledge, maintaining fitrah, and striving for good character, Muslims fulfill their Islamic development. May Allah (SWT) grant us the strength to continuously engage in Tarbiyah. Ameen.

Liberalism places religion in a ‘non-reasoned' bucket, which should be tolerated like all other irrational but ultimately comforting lifestyle choices. This is primarily why there is general animus against anyone who displays an over-exuberance towards belief systems. Such people are described as fundamentalists, unthinking and unable to make their own rational choices. Our guest this week, Jamie Turner is no stranger to these arguments. An atheist once asked me why does he get this deep sense of calling out to God if he imagines himself shipwrecked and stuck in the middle of the sea? Even an atheist asks. We all ask the same question. Some make up their own beliefs, others hold on to a supernatural deity or superstitious belief to make sense of this inner calling.Yet still, deep inside they know there is something missing, so much so that moment it is questioned and rattled they may either submit to the fact they are in error and need to search for a better truth or they become angry and boastful attacking whoever opposes. This first part of this lecture talks about the childhood of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) showing this magnificent natural sense Allah created all humans upon, in order to help guide them and not go astray.

Bismilah Ar-rahman Niraheem I begin, In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful My Name is Shua and I am an interfaith and intercultural practitioner- my brief bio is on the climate crew website. You can also visit lightupwithShua.com and find out more about my podcast on Conscious Living and Conscious Parenting. I want everyone to take three cleansing breaths. Ground yourself, Open up your mind and heart, feel and reflect along with me. Relax! Quran is for the whole humanity, so you all can read, reflect and learn from it. There are solutions to current environmental crisis, that are deep rooted in the Islamic tradition. However, many Muslims and public in general are unaware of these core multiple environmental principles. I will mention a few of the verses, the Ayats = the signs given to us in the Qur'an. And Muslim or not can read, learn and apply these principles and wisdom to run a healthy fulfilling life. Let us Begin: Resilience: Dictionary online definition: This word is a noun: The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, toughness. The ability to spring back into shape. And that is our plan to do in the current Pandemic and for our planet. About the pandemic in Islamic tradition: For the pandemics , Prophet Muhammad had taught us, Messenger of Allah say, “When you hear that [a plague] is in a land, do not go to it and if it occurs in a land that you are already in, then do not leave it, fleeing from it.'” Islam's view on nature is rooted in multiple theocentric positions, best demonstrated by the Qur'anic verse, “There is no God but He, the Creator of all things” (Qur'an 6:102), stipulating that there is a link between creation and the Creator. Water The mention of water appears throughout the Qur'an and is viewed as a vital part of Allah's creation. The Qur'an mentions, “We made from water every living thing” (Qur'an 21:30) and this sentiment is repeated in 24:45 and 25:54. Water is also emphasized as an important aspect of existence and we are told to ponder upon its use: Have you seen the water which you drink? Was it you who sent it down from the rain cloud, or did We send it? Were it Our will, We could have made it bitter; why then do you not give thanks? (Qur'an 56: 68–70) Second: How is man to act towards the environment? God/Allah created Human beings as Allah's/God's vicegerent (khalīfa) on earth, making the earth a dwelling place for us, and ensured that our needs could be pro- vided by the earth. We have the right to use the earth, the animals, and the minerals to help our temporary(Muslims believe that the eternal life is after death) stay on earth. However, with this right comes the responsibility of manifesting the qualities of the Creator, which have been place in our primordial nature (FITRA) and those primary ones to begin are MERCY and JUSTICE. Third: The human corruption which is connected to the environmental corruption The Holy Qur'an sets out complete spiritual and moral guidelines for us, the human beings. GOD/Allah has told to walk humbly (Luqmān, 31:19); not to be wasteful or extravagant; not to disrupt the balance that exists in nature and not to change the creation of God. So To live in such a manner throws creation out of balance, and this can only have serious repercussions in the world we live. And so there is hope. I want you all to be hopeful and keep that in mind that you all are the hope. - Human purification can help address the environmental crisis. - The root causes are not only the dominating materialistic attitudes, which seems to be directly responsible to the crisis but corruption of HUMAN MORALS in general. - Example: God says in the Holy Qur'an: - Corruption has appeared on earth and at sea because of what the hands of men have wrought; in order that God may make them taste the consequences of their actions; so that they might return [that is: so that they might return to God] (Al-Rum, 30:41) What I want you to take away from our time together: Regardless of your faith, ask yourself: have I improved my life and the lives of those around me? Bagaimana pengawasan penggunaan dana covid19 agar tidak disalahkangunakan? Berikut perbincangan saya Sekjen Forum Indonesia untuk Transparan Anggaran ( FITRA), Misbah Hasan.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: No babe is born but upon Fitra. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-revert/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-revert/support

The fullness of faith can only be experienced through love; and a healthy expression of love requires a sound human nature (fitra). This Khutba focuses on the emphasis of love for one another as a natural extension of our faith and our love for God and His Messenger ﷺ. The dua mentioned at the end of Khutba is: اللهم أعنّي على ذكرك وشكرك وحسن عبادتك Transliteration: Allāhumma aʿinnī ʿalā dhikrika wa shukrika wa ḥusni ʿibādatik Translation: 'O Allah assist me in Your remembrance, thankfulness to You, and excellence in Your worship.' SNH: Proofs for the Existence of God Focus on two categories of proofs. Proof from Fitra. Initial human state, could be altered by environment. Cases when people might go back to Fitra. Intuition and hunches. Second category: proof by examining the universe, four types. Something out of nothing, proof from design, fine-tuning, and guidance.
Belief in God is perfectly summarized by the statement 'There is no god except Allah'. In past times the prevalent trend of disbelief was a denial of 'except Allah', whereas in our times the mantra has become 'There is no god'. This sermon explores this trend and shows how the Qur'an directs believers to use deductive reasoning to establish that there IS a Creator, and that this is the only conclusion a sound intellect can lead to, no matter how fashionable Atheism may be. The themes of proper reasoning, reflecting on the Qur'an, the Fitra - the default setting - of the human being are discussed here, before an analysis and call for reflection on Sura al-Tin (The Chapter of the Fig). The sura provides a very profound evaluation of human nature, revelation, prophecy, the Fitra and Allah's plan for humanity; all of which lead to the necessary conclusion of God's existence, and His wisdom-imbued plan for us all. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is reported to have said, "Every newborn is born upon the Fitra, then their parents will turn them into a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian." Topics addressed in this episode include the questions: What is the Fitra, and how does it relate to instinct and to human nature? Is morality innate or acquired? What constitutes a universal human trait? And are we born with the capacity to reason or do we acquire this from our parents and through education?
