Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S46) The battle of the camel: The battle took place on a Friday, the 16th of Jamada al-Thaani, 36 A.H, in az-Zabuka, an area near Basra. The battle was fought in 2 parts. The first part, from dawn till midday, was lead by Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم. This was the first civil war in our history, still the Companions' رضي الله عنهم nobility shines brighter than the sun: both sides were lead by people promised Paradise. They called out not to kill those that flee, do not kill the injured etc, to minimise bloodshed. It had been ~33 years since Uhud, the day that belonged to Talha رضي الله عنه, the living martyr. He رضي الله عنه now supplicated for martyrdom.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S29) Talha رضي الله عنه did not relate Hadiths. as-Saa'ib Ibn Yazeed (r.h) spent time with Talha, Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas and Miqdaad رضي الله عنهم. He (r.h) said none of them related Hadith, except Talha رضي الله عنه who related about Uhud. During the farewell Hajj, Talha رضي الله عنه had a special honour; when The Messenger ﷺ shaved his blessed head, Talha رضي الله عنه was the one who distributed the blessed hair. (Reports mention also Abu Talha رضي الله عنه). Imam Ali رضي الله عنه: “I have heard with my own ears, The Messenger ﷺ said Talha and Zubayr [رضي الله عنهم] will be my neighbours in Paradise”.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S28) The Messenger ﷺ: “The best of mankind is the one whose age is long and deeds are bountiful. The worst of mankind is the one whose age is long and his deeds are corrupt”. The third Kalimah, the everlasting deeds… Why was Talha رضي الله عنه the one to have these dreams? Beautifully put; he craved martyrdom at Uhud, but lived on ~35 years afterwards! In those years, the works he did were unfathomable! Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى was giving him something greater than martyrdom, a long life full of piety. اَللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ. Why are we surprised regarding the works of this man, for The Messenger ﷺ said: “Abu Bakr will be in Paradise. Umar will be in Paradise. Uthmaan will be in Paradise. Ali will be in Paradise. Talha will be in Paradise. Zubayr will be in Paradise. Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf will be in Paradise. Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas will be in Paradise. Sa'eed Ibn Zayd will be in Paradise. Abu Ubaydah Ibn al-Jarrah will be in Paradise”. (رضي الله عنهم)
Upholding the Rights and Honor of the Companions – Following the Way of the Sahabah in Islam | Tarbiyah Islamiyah 01-06 | ZAD Academy Audio | Blogpost by Zayd HajiBy Zayd Haji – Student at Zad AcademyAssalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,In this session of Tarbiyah Islamiyah 01-06, Shaykh Ibrahim Zidan explores one of the central themes of Islamic creed and education — the rights of the Companions (Sahabah) and the obligation to love, respect, and defend them. These noble individuals were chosen by Allah to accompany the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and to transmit his message to later generations.Allah has explicitly praised the Sahabah in the Qur'an:“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves.”(Surah Al-Fath 48:29 – quran.com/48/29)Loving the companions and following their understanding of the religion is an integral part of faith. Speaking negatively about them contradicts the direction of the Qur'an, where Allah commands believers never to criticize a people whom He has praised.“And the first forerunners [in faith] among the Muhajirun and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct – Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.”(Surah At-Tawbah 9:100 – quran.com/9/100)This verse establishes that following the Sahabah's understanding is not optional but fundamental. Any attempt to diminish their standing ultimately weakens the foundation through which Islam reached us — the Qur'an and Sunnah, transmitted through their trustworthy efforts. All companions are deemed just and trustworthy (ʿudūl). The Prophet ﷺ said:“Do not revile my companions, for if one of you were to spend gold equal to Uhud in charity, it would not equal a handful of what they gave, or even half of it.”(Sahih al-Bukhari 3673 – sunnah.com/bukhari:3673)This hadith highlights their unmatched rank and contribution. The generation that carried and preserved Islam deserves immense respect. Thus, believers must avoid delving into historical disputes or criticizing their actions. The Prophet ﷺ forewarned that the ummah would experience divisions and gave clear guidance to remain upon his path and that of the rightly guided caliphs:“I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-guided Caliphs after me. Hold fast to it with your molar teeth.”(Sunan Abi Dawood 4607 – sunnah.com/abudawud:4607)The way to salvation and unity is by adhering to Revelation through their understanding. This ensures protection from deviation and sectarianism.Love and Loyalty: Loving the companions is part of loving the Prophet ﷺ. Hating or insulting them endangers one's faith.Trust in Transmission: The Companions are reliable transmitters of the Qur'an and Sunnah; their righteousness is confirmed by Allah.Avoid Contention: Refrain from discussing past disputes among them.Follow Their Faith: Success lies in following the Qur'an and Sunnah according to their interpretation. Conclusion: The companions (Sahabah) are the spiritual foundation of this ummah. Upholding their honor safeguards our connection to the authentic teachings of Islam. As the Prophet ﷺ guided, steadfastness upon his Sunnah and the way of his Companions ensures unity, purity of faith, and salvation.
Ebu Talib oğlu Hz. Ali (r.a.)'in künyesi Ebu Turâb'tır. Bu lakabı ona bizzat Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) vermiştir. Cennetle müjdelenen on kişiden biridir. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) onu kardeş seçmiştir. Kur'an'ı bir araya getirenlerdendir ve Resûlullâh (s.a.v.)'in denetimi altında Kur'an'ı kıraat etmeye nail olmuştur. Erken vakitte İslam'ı kâbul etmiştir. “Resûlullâh (s.a.v.)'e nübüvvet pazartesi günü indirilmiştir ve ben de salı günü müslüman oldum” demiştir. Müslüman olduğu vakit henüz on yaşındaydı.Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Hz. Said b. el-Müseyyeb (r.a.)'in söylediği üzere, ‘'Hz. Ali (r.a.), Uhud Savaşı'nda tam on altı yerinden ya ralanmıştı.” Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Hayber gününde sancağı ona teslim ederek zaferin onun olacığını da bildirmişti. Cesareti ve savaşlardaki etkisi pek bir meşhurdur.” Hayber'de Hz. Ali (r.a.), kalenin kapısını sırtladığı gibi havaya kaldırdı, böylece müslümanlar onun üzerinden geçerek kaleyi fethettiler. Lakin, bundan sonra kapıyı tekrar kaldırmak istediler de, ancak kırk kişi bunu yapabildi. Tirmizi (r.âleyh)'in rivayet ettiği bir hadise göre Resûlullâh (s.a.v.), “Hz. Ali (r.a.) bendendir, ben de Hz. Ali (r.a.)'danım” buyurmuştur.(Celaleddin Suyuti, Halifeler Tarihi, s.176)
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S21) The Messengers ﷺ love for the Martyrs of Uhud: The Messenger ﷺ: “O Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, how I would have loved to have been with them at the foot of the mountain” (I.e martyred alongside them رضي الله عنهم). The Messenger ﷺ would visit the Martyrs of Uhud annually, so did the Khilaaf e Rashideen (رضي الله عنهم). Some of the blessed Martyrs of Uhud: Musab Ibn Umayr, Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn Haram, Hanzala, Sa'ad Ibn Rabee, Ziyad Ibn al-Sakan, Amr Ibn al-Jamooh, Kharija Ibn Zayd, Yamaan, Thaabit Ibn Waqash, Mukhayreeq and Amr Ibn Thaabit رضي الله عنهم.
(S22) Haythuma Abu Sa'ad رضي الله عنهم: another martyr of Uhud. His son, Sa'ad رضي الله عنه was martyred at Badr. Wahab Ibn Kamoos and his nephew al-Haarith Ibn Uqbah رضي الله عنهم. Wahab رضي الله عنه single handedly took out a cavalry headed for The Messenger ﷺ. The Messenger ﷺ gives him glad tidings…Wahab رضي الله عنه is martyred, wearing the best of smiles. His nephew Haarith رضي الله عنه was martyred at Uhud also. Returning to Talha رضي الله عنه: Despite all his severe injuries from Uhud, Talha رضي الله عنه still participated in every campaign during The Messenger's ﷺ lifetime! Umar رضي الله عنه: “Talha رضي الله عنه is a pillar of Islam”.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S20) The Messenger ﷺ instructs the Companions رضي الله عنهم to praise Talha رضي الله عنه in poetry. Hasan Ibn Thaabit رضي الله عنه: “After Muhammad ﷺ Talha رضي الله عنه led us all”. Abu Bakr and Umar رضي الله عنهم then recited some poetry in praise of Talha رضي الله عنه. If The Messenger ﷺ has ordered praise of an indivual, we must follow suit and praise him. The Companions رضي الله عنهم stated that at Uhud, Talha رضي الله عنه defended Islam itself! We must show gratitude. Ameer Muawiya رضي الله عنه says to Musa Ibn Talha رضي الله عنهم (Talha's son): “Shall I give you glad tidings?” - “I have heard The Messenger ﷺ say that Talha رضي الله عنه is a man who has fulfilled his vow”.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S15) Talha and 11 men from the Ansar رضي الله عنهم form a ring around The Messenger ﷺ. One by one they step forward to defend The Messenger ﷺ whilst heading towards mount Uhud. All 11 men from the Ansar رضي الله عنهم were martyred. One of these men was Ziyad Ibn al-Sakan رضي الله عنه. The Messenger ﷺ: “On the day of Uhud, I looked to my right and saw Jibraaeel (a.s). I looked to my left and saw Talha [رضي الله عنه]”. The Messenger ﷺ: “Should you [i.e Talha رضي الله عنه] have any difficulties on The Day of Judgement, Jibraaeel (a.s) told me that he himself will come to your aid”. This was due to the aid and defence Talha رضي الله عنه gave to The Messenger ﷺ.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S16) The Messenger ﷺ titled Talha رضي الله عنه: “Talha al-Khayr”. “Talha the Good”. Whenever Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه mentioned Uhud, he said all credit goes to Talha رضي الله عنه that day. Abu Bakr and Abu Ubaydah رضي الله عنهم upon seeing The Messenger ﷺ again during the intense battle, rushed to him, ﷺ. The Messenger ﷺ tells them to see to their Companion, Talha رضي الله عنه who was severely injured and lost a lot of blood, but due to their immense love for The Messenger ﷺ they went to him first. Abu Ubaydah رضي الله عنه uses his front teeth to remove the lodged helmet chain links from The Messenger's ﷺ cheek. He lost both his teeth but this only increased him in handsomeness! Talha رضي الله عنه had fallen into a ditch. He had 70 wounds, from swords, spears and arrows, showing he defended The Messenger ﷺ from all distances. اَللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ. Talha's رضي الله عنه hand was paralysed and he lost his index and middle finger. When the other Companions رضي الله عنهم arrived and Talha knew The Messenger ﷺ was now safe, he رضي الله عنه fell unconscious again.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S17) The Messenger ﷺ: “If anyone wants the pleasure of seeing a martyr walking on the Earth, look at Talha”. (رضي الله عنه). Some reports mention 14 men (رضي الله عنهم) were with The Messenger ﷺ, some say it was 12, 11, 7. There is no contradiction: the numbers differ as when needs rose, some (رضي الله عنهم) broke away and then returned later. There was 7 Muhajireen and 7 Ansar رضي الله عنهم. Abu Talha رضي الله عنه gets drowsy during Uhud: this was a blessed gift sent from Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى showing His pleasure. Others رضي الله عنهم felt it too. Abu Talha رضي الله عنه is not to be confused with Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه. Abu Talha's name is Zayd Ibn Sahl رضي الله عنه. He was an elite warrior, Badri, paired brother of Abu Ubaydah رضي الله عنه, he married Umm Sulaym, Anas's mother رضي الله عنهم.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S18) The last assault at Uhud: with The Messenger ﷺ at the elevated face of Uhud, the disbelievers tried one last attack. Khalid Ibn al-Waleed رضي الله عنه with his force headed towards The Messenger ﷺ. The Messenger ﷺ made a dua: “Let not these people reach us”, some of the Muhajireen (including Umar) and the Ansar رضي الله عنهم went forward and thus the disbelievers retreated. The mutiliation of the Martyrs رضي الله عنهم: Hind رضي الله عنها, at this point not a Muslim, and some others cut off the Martyrs' noses and ears, making necklaces and anklets out of them! She gave Wahshi (رضي الله عنهم) her golden necklace and jewellery for killing Hamza رضي الله عنه. Hind رضي الله عنها takes Hamza's رضي الله عنه liver and chews it but could not swallow it… The Messenger ﷺ is deeply saddened and angered when he sees what was done to his beloved uncle رضي الله عنه.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S14) On the day of Uhud, The Messenger ﷺ cursed 3 men, then Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى revealed Surah [3:128] (“You ˹O Prophet˺ [ﷺ] have no say in the matter. It is up to Allah to turn to them in mercy or punish them, for indeed they are wrongdoers”). These 3 men later became Companions رضي الله عنهم. When The Messenger ﷺ was in the ditch, he said: “Forgive my people, for they do not know”. Utbah Ibn Abi Waqas damaged The Messenger's ﷺ lower lip and broke his lower canine. He ﷺ had a deep cut on the shoulder and had 2 helmet links embedded into his cheek. This was an honour for The Messenger ﷺ. Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqas رضي الله عنه sees Jibraaeel and Mikaeel (a.s) fighting ferociously by the side of The Messenger ﷺ! The false report that The Messenger ﷺ was martyred caused the Muslims (رضي الله عنهم) to react in 4 ways; 1). There was no point in fighting now, The Messenger ﷺ has been killed. Return, regroup and repower at Madinah. 2). They (رضي الله عنهم) regrouped at Mount Uhud. Regarding the first 2 groups, Surah [3:155] and [159] were revealed. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى mentions the short comings of the Companions رضي الله عنهم and that they have been forgiven, and that The Messenger ﷺ should pray for their forgiveness. 3). This group, رضي الله عنهم, upon hearing The Messenger ﷺ was martyred, thought we must fight harder and martyrdom is what is for us now! 4). This group, رضي الله عنهم, didn't split from The Messenger ﷺ thus the rumour he had been killed had no effect on them, as they could see him ﷺ. Included in this group was Talha رضي الله عنه.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S11) Some more Companions رضي الله عنهم who are still classed as Badris, but did not physically participate in Badr due to other reasons; Uthmaan Ibn Affaan, Abu Lubaba, Asim Ibn Adee, Haarith Ibn Haathib, Haarith Ibn al-Sammah, Khuwaat Ibn Jubayr, Abu Seeya and Sa'ad Abu Malik (رضي الله عنهم). Talha رضي الله عنه did miss out physically at Badr, however his performance in the next battle, Uhud, showed his determination, and it went down in history. Uhud was fought ~3-4 A.H, making Talha رضي الله عنه around 32 years old. The disbelievers numbered around 3,000, the Muslims numbered around 700. The Battle was initially being won by the Muslims, however the turn over occurred and the situation worsened. 200 horses came from one direction and a group of disbelievers from the other, sandwiching the Muslims. They fought bravely in smaller, split groups. The Battle was divided into 2 arenas.
Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S3) His noble wives: First is Hamna bint Jahsh رضي الله عنها. She was the first cousin of The Messenger ﷺ, and the sister of our mother, Zainab bint Jahsh رضي الله عنها. Hamna رضي الله عنها was first married to Musab Ibn Umayr رضي الله عنه. After Uhud, The Messenger ﷺ told Hamna رضي الله عنها about the martyrdom of her brother, Abdullah Ibn Jahsh, her uncle Hamza and her husband Musab رضي الله عنهم. Hamna رضي الله عنها supplied water to the warriors at Uhud. A dangerous battle, an even braver woman. Talha رضي الله عنه nobly offered to marry Hamna رضي الله عنها after finding out Musab رضي الله عنه was martyred. She already had a daughter, Zainab bint Musab.
The Rights of the Prophet ﷺ | ZAD Academy Audio | Blogpost by Zayd HajiBy Zayd Haji – Student at Zad AcademyAssalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,I am Zayd Haji, a student at Zad Academy.Alhamdulillah, we continue our journey in Islamic education by discussing the rights of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Loving the Prophet, following him sincerely, and avoiding extremism in his regard are among the greatest obligations of every believer. These rights are rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, guiding us to balance love with correct belief and practice. The Prophet ﷺ holds the highest status a human being can attain—servitude to Allah ﷻ and prophethood. Allah ﷻ says:“Say, [O Muhammad], I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God.”(Qur'an, Surah Al-Kahf 18:110 — Quran.com/18/110)While we must love the Prophet ﷺ more than ourselves, parents, and children, we are forbidden from exaggerating his status by attributing divine qualities to him. The Prophet ﷺ warned:“Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a slave. So call me the slave of Allah and His Messenger.”(Sahih al-Bukhari 3445 — Sunnah.com/bukhari:3445)Thus, claiming that the Prophet ﷺ was created from light, that he had no human qualities like shade, or that all creation was made for him, contradicts the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.True love for the Prophet ﷺ means obedience. Allah ﷻ says:“He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah.”(Qur'an, Surah An-Nisa 4:80 — Quran.com/4/80)Innovations such as celebrating the Prophet's birthday (Mawlid) or swearing by his name were never practiced by the early generations. Instead, the Prophet ﷺ commanded:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "If somebody innovates something which is not in harmony with the principles of our religion, that thing is rejected."(Sahih al-Bukhari 2697 — Sunnah.com/bukhari:2697)Therefore, the correct way to honor him is to follow his Sunnah inwardly and outwardly, avoiding additions to the religion.Among the Prophet's rights is love for his family and respect for his companions. He ﷺ said:“I remind you by Allah concerning my family.”(Sahih Muslim 2408 — Sunnah.com/muslim:2408)Regarding his companions, he ﷺ warned:“Do not abuse my companions, for if one of you were to spend gold equal to Uhud, it would not equal a handful or even half of what they gave.”(Sahih al-Bukhari 3673 — Sunnah.com/bukhari:3673)Loving and defending them is part of loving the Prophet ﷺ.The rights of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ include love, obedience, following his Sunnah, avoiding extremism, respecting his family, and honoring his companions. True love is shown through adherence to revelation, not by exaggeration or innovation.Allah ﷻ says:“Say, [O Muhammad], if you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.”(Qur'an, Surah Aal ‘Imran 3:31 — Quran.com/3/31)Following the Prophet ﷺ sincerely is the path to Allah's mercy, guidance, and Paradise.

Don't Give Up: Hope in Bleak TimesBismillah. The past few weeks have been incredibly difficult for the Ummah — especially for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. And it's not just these few weeks. It's been 23 months. Almost two years of relentless destruction. Every time we think we've seen the worst, we're proven wrong. Every time we think we've hit rock bottom, Israel and the powers that support her prove that evil has no limit. We are now witnessing full-blown famine. Starvation. Infants with nothing between their skin and bones. And on top of that — we hear of America burning 500 tonnes of food rather than allowing it to reach Palestine. At times like this, it's tempting to throw in the towel. To say:“We've done everything we can.”“We've shouted, we've protested, we've boycotted, we've flooded social media.”And yet, the powers that be… remain. But when that sense of despair starts creeping in, we must pause. We must take a step back and remember:We are looking through the lens of our short lives. We live 60, 70 years — maybe 50 as adults — and from that narrow perspective, it feels like there's no hope. But history tells a different story. When we zoom out, we see a sunnah of Allah unfold:Evil never wins in the end.No matter how powerful. Fir'aun claimed he was God Most High — Allah destroyed him. Yet many lived and died under his tyranny and may have thought:“Where is Allah's help?”“Where is our du‘a?”Allah addresses this feeling directly in the Qur'an — in the verse I opened with. He speaks of previous nations, believers who were so shaken by hardship that even their Prophets asked, “When will the help of Allah come?”And Allah replies:“Indeed, the help of Allah is near.”But near from whose perspective? Not always ours. That's why in Surah Ibrahim, Allah reminds us:“Do not think that Allah is unaware of the actions of the oppressors. He is merely delaying them for a Day when eyes will stare in horror.”We are people of hope. We do not despair when times get tough. And in this brief khutbah, I want to share three points in history to remind us: we carry the torch of hope.1. The Trench in the Cold of MedinaYear 5 after Hijrah. The Battle of the Trench. After the losses at Uhud, Quraysh saw an opportunity to wipe out Islam. They gathered the largest army Arabia had ever seen: 10,000 strong. They were backed by Banu Ghatafan from the north, and allied with Jews from Khaybar, including Banu Qurayzah from within Medina.Rasulullah ﷺ had only 3,000 companions to defend the city. It was winter. The Sahaba were hungry, cold, and exhausted. Salman al-Farisi suggested digging a trench — a Persian military tactic. And they did. Day and night. Starving, shivering, digging non-stop.Then they hit a boulder they couldn't break. They called the Prophet ﷺ. He struck it once — a spark flew.“Allahu Akbar!” he cried.A second strike — another spark.“Allahu Akbar!”Third strike — the boulder shattered.“Allahu Akbar!”The companions asked: What was the takbir about?Rasulullah ﷺ said:* With the first spark, I saw Persia falling to the Muslims.* With the second, Rome.* With the third, Yemen. In the darkest moment, he gave them light. He gave them vision. He didn't just say “Have hope.”He gave them reasons to hope. And history proved him right. Islam triumphed. Not through numbers, but through divine help — a storm that forced the enemy to retreat. A month-long siege broken without a single full-scale battle.2. The Fall of Baghdad (1258 CE)Hulagu Khan — grandson of Genghis Khan — invaded Baghdad.Within days, 800,000 were slaughtered.Libraries burned. Books tossed into the Tigris until the river ran black with ink.Muslim writers thought it was the end of time.Non-Muslim historians wrote:“This is the day Islam died.”But Islam didn't die.Baghdad fell, but Cairo rose. So did Damascus. The Delhi Sultanate grew. And from these ashes, the Ottomans would eventually rise.Even Hulagu's cousin, Berke Khan, accepted Islam.Within a generation, the very dynasty that destroyed Baghdad became a Muslim dynasty. And amidst all of this — scholars kept working.* Imam al-Nawawi, who focused on preserving and teaching knowledge.* Ibn Taymiyyah, the scholar-warrior.* Ibn Ata'illah, who focused on tazkiyah and purifying hearts.* Al-‘Izz ibn ‘Abd al-Salam, who spoke truth to power and engaged with the rulers .Despite the devastation, they didn't stop. They carried on.3. The Fall of Apartheid (1994)From 1948 — the same year Israel was created — South Africa began enforcing apartheid. For decades, the people resisted: boycotts, protests, global pressure. In 1994, apartheid fell. The same Nelson Mandela who was once branded a terrorist by the West was now hailed as a hero — by the very same powers that had supported the apartheid regime.Let that sink in.The same powers that supported apartheid in South Africa are the ones supporting apartheid in Palestine today. And just like before — they can be defeated.Social Media: Double-Edged SwordToday, we have a powerful tool: social media. It's helped shift global opinion. It's brought awareness. But it's also draining us.We doomscroll. We see starvation, death, suffering — again and again. Two things happen:* We either fall into despair…* Or we become numb.We start thinking this is normal. So yes — use social media, but set a limit. 15 minutes. Half an hour. Post, share, amplify — and then get back to work. Real work.Know Your Role, Play Your PartNot all resistance looks the same.Imam al-Nawawi didn't fight with swords. He wrote books that still strengthen the Ummah today.Ibn Taymiyyah led at the frontlines.Ibn Ata'illah focused on hearts.Al-‘Izz ibn ‘Abd al-Salam engaged with the rulers. Some of us are better behind the scenes. Some are activists, some are scholars, some are thinkers, some are organisers. Some are better on the mic, others behind a pen.Don't judge someone's contribution just because it's not the same as yours. We need all hands on deck.“Allah will not ask you about what you couldn't do — but He will ask what you did with what you could.”May Allah give victory to the oppressed.May He feed the hungry, clothe the exposed, and strengthen the weak.May He unite our ranks and guide our efforts.May He grant us clarity, discipline, and sincere hearts in service of this Ummah. Muazh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه (S5) Amr Ibn Jamooh رضي الله عنه had 3 sons; Muazh, Mu'awad and Khalaad رضي الله عنهم, who were all Badris. Khalaad was martyred alongside his father, Amr, at Uhud. Muazh Ibn Amr رضي الله عنهم was one of those who attacked Abu Jahl at Badr. He cut off his leg, and it flew like kernel. Muazh was struck and his forearm was almost fully severed. He then stretched it and ripped it off - grieving that he didn't get to finish of Abu Jahl! Amr Ibn Jamooh رضي الله عنه was excused to fight at Badr, due to a limp. He رضي الله عنه fought at Uhud. He was martyred and buried alongside his best friend, Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn Haram رضي الله عنه, his nephew and his freed slave رضي الله عنهم.
Muazh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه (S6) When Amr Ibn al-Jamooh and his son, Khalaad رضي الله عنهم were martyred at Uhud, Amr's wife رضي الله عنهم came with a camel to bring the bodies back to Madinah. When the bodies were placed on the camel, it wouldn't stand until it was struck - however it would not face Madinah, and wanted to stay at Uhud. The Messenger ﷺ said that the camel was ordered to do this! Amr's wife رضي الله عنهم informed the Messenger ﷺ of Amr's dua, that he didn't want to return to his people (I.e martyrdom), which was accepted. اَللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ. A period of time had passed (one report says ~37 years), and when water was flowing into the gravesite of Uhud, the graves had to be exhumed. When they saw the bodies of Amr Ibn al-Jamooh and Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn Haram رضي الله عنهم, they looked as if they were buried yesterday! The people moved the hand of Abdullah رضي الله عنه , and he had a wound which the hand was covering. When the hand was moved, blood began pouring out and the hand returned back to the face to cover it! The Messenger ﷺ loved the martyrs of so, that he yearned to be buried with them. He (ﷺ) said: “O Allah! سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى If only I was left with them at the foot of Uhud”.
Muazh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه (S7) Some more of the blessed martyrs of Uhud: Hamza, Musab, Hanza, Sa'ad Ibn Rabee, Kharija Ibn Zayd, Yaman, Thaabit Ibn Waqash, Mukhayriq, Usayrim and of course the living martyr: Talha رضي الله عنهم. Muazh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه was often seen trying to make the Jews see the light. The Jews always mentioned that the final Messenger (ﷺ) was coming and that they'd side with him to beat the Ansar, however when our Messenger ﷺ came and was from the Arabs, they rejected him. Muazh رضي الله عنه said to them, why do you now reject him? You told us of his arrival! Surah [2:59] was then revealed. Another time, Muazh رضي الله عنه, Sa'ad Ibn Muazh and kharija Ibn Zayd رضي الله عنهم asked the Jews about information in the Torah, which they concealed. Thus was revealed surah [2:159]. Such was a young and courageous Muazh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه.

A believer faces a war on all fronts — the enemy within, the whispers of Shaytan, and those who fight the truth openly and from within. In this powerful episode of the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ, Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan explores how the Prophet ﷺ shaped an Ummah ready for every battlefield — starting with the one inside. Long before swords were drawn at Badr, Uhud and Khandaq, the Companions رضي الله عنهم learned to conquer their own desires, doubts, and fears. You'll see how the early Muslims were trained verse by verse, heart by heart — building an unshakeable fortress of knowledge, action, patience and sincerity. You'll learn about the believer's weapons: Iman that shields the heart, knowledge that exposes every lie, patience that locks down the Nafs, and a sword that rises only when commanded — not by rage or ulterior motives, but by revelation and wisdom. And when the external fight came — with disbelievers, hypocrites, and open enemies — they were ready. Their victory began before the battlefield, in the quiet moments of struggle against themselves. Which enemy is closest to you? Are you armed for all four fights? Watch and rediscover the battles you face daily — and the Seerah that still guides every step. Hz. Kendisi de on iki yerinden yaralanmıştı. Onlardan biri çok derindi. Hz. Ümmü Amâra (r.anhâ) kendisi anlatıyor. “Düşmanlar atlı, biz ise yaya idik. Onlar da bizim gibi yaya olsaydılar, o zaman gerçek savaş neymiş görürlerdi. At üzerinde biri gelip bana saldırsa onun darbesini kalkanla engelliyordum. O benden başka tarafa dönünce atının ayağına saldırıyordum. Ayağı kesilince atla birlikte üzerindeki adam da düşüyordu. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) de oğluma seslenerek bana yardım için gönderiyordu. İkimiz birlikte onun işini bitiriyorduk.”Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) ona ve ailesine duâ buyurdu ve övdü. Kafirler galip gelmeye insanlar dağılmaya başladığı zaman İbn-i Kamiyye “Nebi (s.a.v.) nerede, bana biri söylesin nerede, eğer bugün o kurtulursa bana hiçbir kurtuluş yoktur.” dedi. Musab İbn-i Umeyr (r.a.) ve birkaç kişi onun karşısında çıktı. Bu esnada Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Hamrâ-ül Esed savaşını ilan etti. Ümmü Amâra (r.anhâ) da yarası iyileşmediğinden savaşa katılamadı. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.)

Session 23 The people of Ta'if refuse and reject The Messenger ﷺ. 12 laters later the entire tribe embrace the faith I received from my people a harsh treatment at Uhud. However, the hardest day that I ﷺ encountered was on the day of Aqabah when I ﷺ presented myself to Ibn Abd Yaaleel ibn Abd Kilaal (ie the Chieftain of Thaqeef who did not respond positively)... (Bukhari). Jibreel (as) descends to a cloud and speaks with The Messenger ﷺ.

Prophet Muhammad sent a mission to Yemen to invite them to Islam. The first mission was led by Khalid ibn Al-Walid, who was a harsh man who had fought against the Muslims in the Battle of Uhud, but he had an aristrocratic background and by making him feel valued Prophet Muhammad had hoped to turn him into a productive member of the Muslim community. However once in Yemen, instead of following the prophetic principles of dawah Khalid hastily resorted to violence. The Tribe of Numayr, feeling threatened, sent a delegation to the Prophet in Medina to ask for protection from Khalid. The Prophet sent Imam Ali to Yemen to do damage control and instructed Khalid's men to follow him instead. While sending Imam Ali he gave him various bits of advice, emphasizing the need to display wisdom, to soften people's hearts, and to remain upright. The prophet emphasized the importance of avoiding bloodshed if possible, to the point where he said to not even engage in battle unless they kill one of your men first, and to even then first give them a chance to repent.Lecture notes available at http://www.why-quran.org/?p=754.Subscribe at http://www.why-quran.org/subscribe to watch the lectures live and participate in the Q&A at the end of each class.Video recording of this lecture + Q&A available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfXL7MqjgOU&list=PLpkB0iwLgfTat-Pgh4W3WFmupPamiC9UT.
>> Trigger Warning! AI Generated: The history of Islam has been discussed, including the famous Battle of BPD and the famous Battle of Uhud, which saw the deaths of the Prophet Sallallah Alaihi. The conflict between political and cultural factors led to the collapse of Islam, leading to subhanous political and cultural reforms and the end of the first century of Islamic civilization. The rise of Islam is due to the rise of Subhanous drinks and the rise of a new race of people, including the pathetic creature called the wiser. The importance of faith and trust in Allah's promise to protect the um Patna is emphasized, and the holy month and holy year are highlighted as drivers for action and deeds.
