Lead investigating officer in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial Bongani Gininda has returned to be back in the witness stand, at the Pretoria High Court. Yesterday, defence counsel Charles Mnisi, questioned why only two out of six witnesses were called to attend the identity parade of the accused. Meyiwa was gunned down at singer Kelly Khumalo's parental home in Vosloorus in Gauteng in October 2014. However Khumalo who was the soccer star's former girlfriend, her mother and sister were among the witnesses excluded from attending the identity parade following the arrest of the five accused in the trial. The Pretoria high court has ruled that one of the five men accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Mthobisi Mncube, be transferred from C-Max prison to a facility closer to his place of origin or any maximum-security centre that may be convenient. The court however dismissed Fisokuhle Ntuli's application to be moved out of solitary confinement. The duo are on trial with three other accused for the murder Meyiwa in Vosloorus in 2014.
The Correctional Services Department says two of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa case are high risk offenders hence they remain incarcerated at C-Max section of the KgosiMampuru prison in Tshwane. MthobisiMncube and FisokuhleNtuli filed an urgent urgent application at the Pretoria High Court - seeking the court to rule against their isolated incarceration as it violates their rights. Cellphone data analyst Gideon Gouws confirmed communication between the five men accused of murdering football star Senzo Meyiwa. The evidence ties in with that of previous witness, police cellphone analyst Col Lambertus Steyn. Gouws was asked to analyse data downloaded from Bongani Ntanzi and Sifisokuhle Ntuli's cellphones to check if there was any communication between them and the other accused.
