Pippa Hudson speaks to Dr Solomon Chibaya, lecturer in education policy at the University of the Free State, about the ripple effects of the Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Act signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa in September 2024. While two contentious clauses—on language and admissions—were placed on hold, the Act still reshapes school governance in South Africa.
In his latest Sunday Show with BizNews, Neil De Beer, the President of the United Independent Movement (UIM), describes how SA is becoming another Colombia with the assasination of underworld kingpin André Naude. As for the R700-m National Dialogue, he lambasts President Cyril Ramaphosa for appointing “a pre-tactical team for the build-up to the ANC elections so that they can look good, so that the National Dialogue can in actual fact be this little poodle paraded by the president, run by the vice president with all these cohorts and selected people”. He discussed the “thunderbolt” defection of Democratic Alliance (DA) MP Liam Jacobs to the Patriotic Alliance (PA); the fall of Floyd Shivambu at former President Jacob Zuma's MKP where he had incurred the wrath of Duduzile; the way African National Congress (ANC) SG Fikile Mbalula - who has Presidential ambitions of his own - has poured scorn on those Patrice Motsepi-for-President rumours; the embattled Shamila Batohi's defence for the NPA's spectacular failures; International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola's condemnation of Israel's attack on Iran - and how SA might have contributed to Iran's enriched uranium stock. Meanwhile, De Beer calls for an urgent Referendum to ask for the removal of the current government and a snap new election “because I think this country, if it had an opportunity to say that we would like to have an urgent emergency intervention of a new election, I'll tell you that 90% of this country would say yes.”
The flood victims in the Eastern Cape will be relocated to a safer area. This after severe floods destroyed a number of homes. President Cyril Ramaphosa, members of his cabinet and humanitarian organisation's visited the flood stricken province to asses the damage. To discuss the disaster situation in the Eastern Cape and other affected provinces Bongiwe Zwane spoke to Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister (COGTA), Velenkosini Hlabisa
The bodies of 21 out of the 78 people that have been reported to have died in floods in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape have been positively identified. Heavy rainfall caused the floods in the area. President Cyril Ramaphosa is also currently visiting affected the families. Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Velenkosini Hlabisa and Premier of the province, Thami Ntuli are also in attendance. The search for more bodies continues. Jon Gericke spoke to SABC reporter, Eastern Cape Abongile Janjies...
President Cyril Ramaphosa will today visit Mthatha's flood-ravaged areas in the Eastern Cape today, where a fierce winter storm has killed over 70 people and caused widespread destruction. Meanwhile, humanitarian groups like Gift of the Givers, the Al-Imdaad Foundation and other NGOs have intensified emergency and rescue efforts in the flood-hit areas in Mthatha, where scores of residents have been displaced by severe flooding. Elvis Presslin spoke to Gift of Givers project manager, Ali Sablay
A groundbreaking new report by the Free Market Foundation and Solidarity Research Institute delivers a devastating audit of Cyril Ramaphosa's pet policy. Quantifying the true cost of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment for the first time, researchers reveal how it hollowed out South Africa's economy, blocked investment, entrenched unemployment - and disempowered the very people it was meant to uplift.

While not a member of the G7, South Africa has been invited to engage on key global issues. Energy is expected to top the agenda from securing future supply to making it cleaner and more efficient. The “embarrassment of being removed” is “foremost” in the thinking of President Cyril Ramaphosa. So says political analyst Piet Croucamp who deems the break between the president and African National Congress (ANC) Chair Gwede Mantashe as irreparable. “Mantashe was the person who knocked on Thabo Mbeki's door to tell him that time is up - and he was the one who knocked on Jacob Zuma's door to tell him time is up. If there's one thing that Ramaphosa and those around him fear most, it is that one day the National Executive Committee of the ANC makes a decision which could be perceived as a Motion of No Confidence and Gwede Mantashe comes and knocks on your door. And I think that's the big fear that Ramaphosa has.” Croucamp also gives his take on the real reason MKP SG Floyd Shivambu was redeployed; reveals his pick for the next leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA); comments on the performance of the Government of National Unity ((GNU); as well as the Afrikaner Trek to America. He also gazes into the future of South Africa in 10 years' time. “…there will not be a single party that will govern South Africa alone in the next two or three elections…”
Surnommé "THE ONE, BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL !"

Look at some of the recent examples of what is factually accurate vs. what the media says: Trump pressed Cyril Ramaphosa on the “White Genocide” unfolding in his country = Trump ‘Ambushed' South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the oval office, pushes false claims. Two Israeli embassy employees were shot and killed by a pro-Palestine protester with ties to Left-wing groups = Amid Israeli's ongoing war in Gaza, where thousands have perished, Elias Rodriguez, a Chicago native and activist, shot and killed two Israeli embassy employees. Over the past month, the corporate media, most namely CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, have proven, yet again, that they are a ‘Pravda-like propaganda organ' for Left-wing causes: “We know what you're doing. You're trying to gin up momentum, enthusiasm, for a Left-wing cause that 50% of the population just doesn't support," argues Victor Davis Hanson on this bonus edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”
Matthew d'Ancona and Matt Kelly again respond to your queries. The pair discuss whether the Trump administration is aping the Tories' Rwanda scheme, why the government is so bad at communications and if Cyril Ramaphosa is really someone to admire. Plus the best way to treat prisoners with mental health or substance issues, the MAGA maniacs sticking their noses into the Polish elections and posh accents in Jane Austen dramas.EXCLUSIVE OFFER: Get The New European for just £1 for the first month. In this week's solo episode of PH Journals, I break down the shocking developments from the recent meeting between President Cyril Ramaphosa and former U.S. President Donald Trump — a conversation that's already sending ripples through the international hunting community. With concerns over land expropriation without compensation, genocide, and the potential rise in refugee movement, many overseas hunters are now canceling their safaris to South Africa out of fear and uncertainty. I highlight the key takeaways from the meeting and what it could mean for hunters, outfitters, and conservation going forward.

Topics of discussion include: President Cyril Ramaphosa's meeting with President Donald Trump at the Oval Office. Claims of a “white genocide” of farmers in South Africa. Gaza genocide, the ICJ Case and Western complicity. Should we have any hope or trust in international law? Prosecuting returning IDF soldiers. Inaction and complicity of Arab Muslim leaders in Gaza genocide. Loss of support for the ANC and formation of breakaway parties (EFF and MK parties). A News Roundup episode, and an episode of two halves. We start with a discussion of the recent public Oval Office meeting between Trump and Cyril Ramaphosa, in which Trump harangued the South African president with accusations of 'white genocide' based on 'evidence' which tracks straight back to people in our usual wheelhouse. To teach well, we need to create a massive amount of content, and doing that manually doesn't scale. One of the best decisions we made recently was replacing a slow, manual content creation process with one powered by AI. Without AI, it would take us decades to scale our content to more learners. We owe it to our learners to get them this content ASAP.” von Ahn's email follows a similar memo Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke sent to employees and recently shared online. In that memo, Lütke said that before teams asked for more headcount or resources, they needed to show “why they cannot get what they want done using AI.” Fortune, “Duolingo CEO walks back AI-first comments: ‘I do not see AI as replacing what our employees do'” “To be clear: I do not see AI as replacing what our employees do (we are in fact continuing to hire at the same speed as before),” he wrote. “I see it as a tool to accelerate what we do, at the same or better level of quality. Hvorfor kaster Trump sig lige over Sydafrika? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I'm back. Maybe. The sad truth about the animal crossing bridge on the 101. Starbucks probably got rid of their brownie, because it was my favorite treat from there, and anything that I like in this life will be systematically taken away from. (Like TGI Fridays) The two-cookie conundrum. Restaurant workers that don't put utensils in their Doordash orders should literally be dragged to hell. I put up 265, no sweat! The untapped potential of Cyril Rampahosa. You thought “Diddy parties” were rough, wait til you hear about Hussein parties! Deadguy is still bringin it.
Robert Hersov breaks down why foreign investment in South Africa is collapsing. He calls out black economic empowerment as a corrupt elite scam, exposes Cyril Ramaphosa's failures, and recalls Jacob Zuma's disturbing rape trial defense that stunned the world. A brutal reality check on SA.
