There has been a lot of discussion around what will happen if the US defaults on it's debt. Nate Shelman doesn't understand why we don't just let it happen. Would it really be that bad? There is a federal assistance rent program that is about to end. This program has helped several people in Ada County including a single mom of two kids. According to the Statesman, this mom makes $15 an hour and is currently renting an apartment that costs $1,700 a month. There is a new fund that has been set up in Idaho to help cover costs for minors who want to cross state lines to receive transgender medical care. Nate Shelman asks: Does Idaho need a law, similar to the one we have about abortions, that would prohibit transporting a minor across state lines for transgender care without parental permission? A few states, including Iowa, are considering laws that would ease up on child labor laws to help fill jobs. Do you think we should loosen up on child labor laws? Today was the arraignment of Bryan Kohberger, the man who is accused of murdering four University of Idaho students. When asked how he plead, he stood silently forcing the judge to enter not guilty pleas for Kohberger. The prosecutors in this case will have two months to decide whether or not to pursue the death penalty. If Kohberger is found guilty, are you for or against the death penalty? Nate Shelman took your calls on that and then asked your opinion on a completely different topic. Who actually cares about the debt limit? There is a video circulating the internet of Meridian Police officers arresting a suspect while using force. One of the officers is seen punching the suspect. The Meridian Police Department has released a statement. Nate Shelman asked people who have seen the video to call in and give their preliminary opinions of it. In Oregon, twelve counties have now voted in favor of the Greater Idaho Movement. The Greater Idaho plan asks for fourteen Oregon counties to weigh in. Idahoans, do you still think Greater Idaho is never going to happen? What percent chance do you give it? In Idaho elections, the West Ada School District Levy failed yesterday. Why do you think that is? Do you think people are looking at better ways for school funding? That lead to a brief conversation about California wanting reparations. Do you believe the polls? Right now, the polls put Trump beating Biden in a hypothetical 2024 Presidential rematch. Nate is really tired of AR-15s being discussed. Even thought it goes against his principles, why shouldn't we just ban them at this point? The City of Boise hired Investigators to look into what was happening in the Boise Police Department. Those investigators have somehow spent $500,000 in under four months. In a story that we are sure is just a coincedence, the Boise Police Department is increasing the fine for modified exhaust from $67 to $356.50. Boise City Council voted to spend $1.8 Million on funding hotel rooms for the homeless. Do you think The City should just buy the hotel out right and make it a homeless shelter permanently? Idaho is going a different way than the US as a whole based on some new polls. Would you consider yourself to be religious or spiritual? Only 39% of the US would consider religious faiths important to them. Nate Shelman discussed both of those topics and then wrapped up the show by discussing social media and its effects on children. Governor Little has signed HB71 into law. That is the bill that will make it illegal to perform any transgender surgeries, hormones, or other medical treatments on minors. What are your thoughts?
