It's Tuesday, October 28th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson South African government regulating churches Earlier this month, the South African government agency, known as the Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights Commission, launched a committee to regulate churches in the country. The new committee will most likely make determinations as to “what qualifies as a religion,” who may be recognized as a religious leader, and where churches may worship. The concern is also that this governmental power would force churches to come under State-approved umbrella bodies. The nation's churches have scheduled a march to the Parliament building in Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, on November 13th. South Africa rejects self-defense as reason to own a gun The South African Parliament is also considering additional restrictions on firearms to remove “self-defense” as a valid reason to own a gun. This would remove meaningful protection for families, farms, and churches from violent criminals, in one of the most violent nations on Earth. The Communists and the left-leaning African National Congress have 51% control of the South African parliament. Turmoil in Chinese Communist Party The Chinese Communist government is still in turmoil. At this moment, 38 of the 205 members of the central committee failed to appear for the big Plenum session last week. Of the 33 generals on the Committee, 22 were missing. Trump to meet with Chinese president Xi Jinping on Asian tour President Donald Trump met with Japan's newly elected Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi yesterday. This week, he will move on to high level meetings in South Korea and China, with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday. The White House announced that President Trump has signed historic peace deals with Cambodia and Thailand, trade deals with Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam, and minerals deals with Malaysia and Thailand. Javier Milei's mid-term election triumph in Argentina The results for Argentina's mid-term elections are in. And Javier Milei's Libertarian Party crushed it, reports Reuters. Now, Milei's party has 41% control of the legislature which is up from 26% in 2023. The left wing party dropped off from 44% to 32% which is an 11% decline. Milei's agenda will have stronger legislative backing for more reforms in tax reduction and deregulation of business for the country. Bolivia rejects socialism And, by God's sovereign order of things, Bolivia has a new president as of last week, reports CBS News. Rodrigo Paz is more centrist — a change after 20 years of socialism in this mountainous country of South America. Not surprisingly, socialist countries like Venezuela and Bolivia are the poorest countries in all of South America. King Charles III glorified sodomy King Charles III of England glorified homosexuality yesterday by placing flowers at a newly constructed memorial to homosexuals serving in the nation's military, reports The Times. Prince Charles's mentor and uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten, served as Britain's Chief of Defense in the 1960s, and was reported in 2019 as “a homosexual with a perversion for young boys.” King Charles III joined Pope Leo XIV for worship King Charles III made other news headlines last week, when he participated in a public worship service with the Roman Catholic Pope Leo XIV. This was the first time a reigning British monarch joined the Pope for such events since the Reformation. King Charles and his wife, Camilla, sat on golden thrones under Michelangelo's "Last Judgment" fresco in the Sistine Chapel for the ecumenical service. Joel 3 reminds us of God's judgement. “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow — for their wickedness is great.” Putin celebrates successful test of missile Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrated a successful test for the Burevestnik missile over the weekend, reports CBS News. Putin announced that the armament was ready for deployment, after it completed a 10,000-mile flight. Plus, according to the Russian military, the missile “successfully performed all designated vertical and horizontal maneuvers, demonstrating its strong ability to evade anti-missile and air defense systems.” Hurricane Melissa: Biggest one to hit Caribbean Category 5 Hurricane Melissa is barreling down on Jamaica. It's the strongest hurricane to hit the Caribbean nation in recorded history. America's most lethal aircraft carrier off Venezuelan coast Meanwhile, the U.S. Military is sending its most lethal aircraft carrier from European waters into the Caribbean for the ongoing drug war, now heating up somewhere off the shores of Venezuela, reports TheHill.com. The main target for the flurry of activity appears to be Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, whom the Trump administration has called an “illegitimate leader.” Appearing on CBS's Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina was asked about possible land strikes in Venezuela. BRENNAN: “Are land strikes planned?” GRAHAM: “Yeah, I think that's a real possibility. I think President Trump's made a decision that [Venezuelan President Nicolás] Maduro, the leader of Venezuela, is an indicted drug trafficker, that it's time for him to go. Venezuela and Colombia have been safe havens for ‘narco terrorists' for too long.” Oil likely will cost less in 2026 America's oil wells are pumping it out. Chevron CEO Mike Wirth told Fox Business host Maria Bartiroma, that gas prices in 2026 may very well be lower than they were this year. BARTIROMA: “Can you give us a sense of what you would expect for 2026?” WIRTH: “Yeah, I think we see supply growing, particularly from the OPEC-supplying countries, and demand growing steadily. But as this supply comes back, it's weighing on commodity markets. So, we're prepared for prices in ‘26 to be lower than they were in ‘25.” Christian pastors arrested for child p*rn And finally, assorted national news stories report that Christian pastors and leaders have been recently arrested for possession of extreme evil forms of pornography involving children. Singer and worship leader Jon Paul Sheptock, of First Montgomery Baptist Church, is under arrest, reports the Baptist Press. The Idaho Statesman reports that the senior pastor at Sovereign Grace Fellowship in Nampa, Idaho was arrested for handling images of a “horrific” nature. Another Baptist youth pastor from Greenville, South Carolina was just sentenced to twenty years for a similar offense. A pastor of the House of Prayer Christian Church in Georgia has been indicted by a federal court for similar offenses. And another former youth pastor at the Southcoast church in Goleta, California has been arrested on related charges. Jeremiah speaks of religious scandals in the churches. The prophet wrote, “My heart within me is broken because of the prophets. . . For the land is full of adulterers; For because of a curse the land mourns. The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil, and their might is not right. “For both prophet and priest are profane; Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord. I will bring disaster on them, the year of their punishment.” (Jeremiah 23:9-12) Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, October 28th, in the year of our Lord 2025. JoAnn "Jo" Grensing, 64, of Meridian, Idaho, returned home to her heavenly father September 2, 2025. She was born January 14, 1961, in San Gabriel, California as the fourth daughter of Neva and Rollo Barrett. Her early years were spent in California and St. George, Utah, before the family eventually settled in Meridian, Idaho. JoAnn's kindness and caregiving nature were evident from an early age as personalities began to emerge among the children.A graduate of Meridian High School (1979), JoAnn excelled academically and sang joyfully in church, and in the school choir. After graduation, she attended beauty school, worked locally, and soon began an adventurous chapter working in motels in neighboring states. She later settled back in Idaho, where she became the proud mother of son, Everett, and daughter, Neva. Motherhood was her greatest joy, and she faced life's challenges with resilience, faith, and grace. In 1994, JoAnn met the love of her life, Larry Grensing, at an autumn church dance. Their connection was immediate, and they married that same December. Together, they blended their families with love, and Joann embraced her stepdaughter, Celina as her own. Joann's affection for family and her ability to nurture those around her defined her life. Her career reflected her natural gift for caretaking. She worked as a CNA and later as Director of Admissions at Capitol Care Center, always offering compassion and comfort to others. She also cared tenderly for her father and later her husband during their final years. After Larry's retirement, the couple moved to Garden Valley, where they cherished time in the mountains, enjoying nature, and building a life in their tight-knit community. They helped establish the Payette Forward thrift store, a non-profit that reflected their giving spirits. Though they later returned to Meridian for Larry's medical care, JoAnn continued to build lasting friendships with neighbors and her church community. After Larry's passing in 2021, JoAnn carried on with courage, drawing strength from her family, her faith, and the many relationships she cherished. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, beloved sister, and dear friend to many. Her radiant presence, kindness, and warmth touched all who knew her.JoAnn is survived by her children: Everett (Jeremy), Neva, and Celina (McQ); granddaughter, Hailee; siblings: Peggy, Mary, and Rollo; and her extended family who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and parents.Send us a textThe family is seeking support to cover funeral and estate expenses. Contributions of any amount will be greatly appreciated. Lastly, we journey to Nampa, Idaho, and reflect on historical towns like Silver City, enriching our understanding of the landscapes we traverse. Before embarking on summer travels in your recreational vehicle, it is essential to address several common pitfalls that could hinder your journey. The discussion highlights eight critical areas that RV owners should meticulously inspect and rectify: the condition of roof seals and caulking, tire pressure, the efficiency of air conditioning systems, and the integrity of refrigerator seals, among others. These components, if neglected, can lead to exacerbated damage, resulting in costly repairs and a less enjoyable travel experience. By taking proactive measures to maintain these aspects of your RV, you ensure not only the safety and comfort of your family but also the longevity of your vehicle as you traverse the great outdoors. Key Takeaways: Before embarking on your summer RV adventure, it is imperative to address common pitfalls to ensure a smooth journey. Mastering off-grid living through boondocking can greatly enhance the RV experience for those willing to embrace it. Performing an insurance audit may yield significant savings that could fund memorable trips such as a visit to Yellowstone. Maintaining your RV's systems, such as checking roof seals and tire pressure, is essential to prevent costly repairs during your travels. Understanding the unique features of RV refrigerators can prevent food spoilage and enhance overall efficiency while on the road. We're rounding up the news of the week, beginning with a political rally that drew over 12,000 people to Nampa on Monday. Host Lindsay Van Allen and political scientist Charlie Hunt are discussing why Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) stopped in Idaho. And in Boise, a back-and-forth over a new state law has made the Pride flag outside City Hall a political hot potato, with Attorney General Raúl Labrador weighing in. Meanwhile, Micron is making moves too — quietly deleting DEI language from its website. We're also looking ahead to the Boise River Marathon and celebrating spring the Idaho way — with Mormon cheesy potatoes. Highly successful TAXI member Matt Vander Boegh interviewed me a month or so ago, and the TAXI TV audience was blown away by the quality of the questions asked. Here's the dirty little secret: Many of those questions came from Matt's group of musicians he mentors at monthly meetings at his house. Matt's a Pay-It-Forward kind of guy! I was so impressed with the questions from Matt's Mentees that I'm flying to Nampa, Idaho, to do a live episode of TAXI TV from Matt's house during his group's meeting! All questions are fair game, and as I said, it will be LIVE and in real time! If you want to hear unscripted, unedited, possibly embarrassing things about me, TAXI, and the music licensing part of the industry, this is your chance!

Send us a textMidori Koyama ObituaryMidori was born in West Torrence, California on Dec., 27, 1930 to Masaichiro Marumoto and Asako Okuda. Midori was raised in Southern California until age 11 at which time she and her family moved to Utah as part of the voluntary evacuation “option” of Executive Order 9066 during World War II. After moving to Utah she attended schools in the Clearfield and Layton, UT area and graduated from Davis High School in Ogden, UT in 1950. She attended Weber State College and worked at Hill Air Force Base.Midori's father was a judo instructor in the Ogden area. At her father's judo dojo annual tournament in 1960 she saw George Koyama, a judo instructor from Nampa, eating lunch. She grabbed the teapot out of her mother's hand and walked over to serve him tea and the rest as they say is history. They were married in 1962 at which time Midori moved to Nampa where she and George set up their home and started a family. One of Midori's passions was supporting education and working with children. She began working for the Nampa School District in 1970 and worked at Lincoln, Kenwood & Centennial elementary schools. Midori was part of the inaugural staff of Centennial school when it opened in 1976 and worked there until her retirement in 2004. She served as an instructional aide and librarian during her 28 year career at Centennial. At one point as librarian at Centennial she got the idea of selling pencils and origami cranes to raise money to buy books for the library. The idea was so successful she continued and expanded her product line. Kids at the school would save up their coins to make a purchase at “Mrs. Koyama's School Store” every week. While no official tally exists, she raised thousands of dollars used to purchase books for the library. Because of that work and her dedication, a section of the Centennial School library was dedicated in 1995 as “Mrs. Koyama's Book Garden” an honor in which she took great pride. She volunteered at Centennial after retirement and continued to raise money for the school through her store.Another passion of Midori's was sharing and educating others about Japanese culture and the experiences of the Japanese Americans during WWII. Before leaving California Midori's father, in fear of retribution and racism, piled many of the family's Japanese possessions in a heap to be burned. Midori secretly pulled a favorite story book of historic Japanese heroes and hid it inside her belongings and took it to Utah unbeknownst to anyone in the family. Perhaps spurred by that and other similar childhood experiences she wanted pass along her culture and experiences to future generations. For many summers she held Japanese language classes for local area children. She also presented information to many local school classes about her WWII relocation experience.Midori passed away due to a brief and sudden illness on Sunday, June 12, 2011. She is survived by her husband, George. She is also survived by her son John, daughter-in-law Joyce, and 3 grandchildren - Kristina, Jackie and Mason Koyama all from Sacramento, CA. Her surviving brother and sisters are Hiroki Marumoto of Layton, UT; Yukari “Vicky” Mikesell of Belmont, CA; Bill Marumoto of Westminster, CA and Seiko Kikuta of Eugene, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents. Support the show
One of Nampa's biggest development battles just took a surprising turn. After major community pushback, the local family behind the proposal for 189 new homes unveiled an updated plan that not only addresses concerns, but also honors their Japanese-American heritage. What does this growth mean for Nampa and how does it compare to Boise's growing pains? Want some more Boise news? In the early hours of June 30, 1987, Boise resident Clinton Sparks was awoken by someone pounding frantically on his storm door. A moment later, Sparks heard a loud scream in the distance, and he went inside to call 911.Although he didn't know it at the time, what Clinton Sparks heard was the last desperate cry of twenty-one-year-old Preston Murr, Two of Murr's associates, Daniel Rodgers and Daron Cox, were arrested and tried and convicted for the murder. The trial and conviction should have been where the story ended, but for the house on Linden Street where the murder occurred, it was only the beginning. Since Murr's tragic death more than thirty-five years ago, the house has become a source of local legends, with claims ranging from the appearance of ghostly apparitions to blood inexplicably dripping down the walls. As a result, Boise's “Murder Mansion” has become known as one of the most haunted houses in America.Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!!ReferencesEnsunsa, David. 1987.
