Today's special guest on Attendance Bias is Phish lyricist and Co-Founder of Osiris Media, Tom Marshall. Tom chose to discuss the 35-minute version of "David Bowie" from December 29, 1994 at the Providence Civic Center, in Providence, RI. Most of us know Tom for his lyrics, and there's plenty of information out there about Tom as a lyricist--he has been very open about his relationship with Phish, his lyrics, and more on his podcast, Under the Scales, which has now morphed into a new podcast called Undermine...but we'll get to that later.Since Tom has already said plenty about his lyrics, I wanted to hear more about his life and history as a podcaster; about Under the Scales, Undermine, and Osiris media. And of course, I wanted to know his thoughts about that incredible, all-time version of "David Bowie."As a huge Phish fan, it was a thrill to speak with Tom. As a podcaster, it was fascinating to hear about the history of his success. I am an unabashed fan of Under the Scales, Undermine, and plenty of other Osiris Media podcasts, including Phemale-Centrics, whose host, Dawneebee, was a guest on episode 4 of Attendance Bias. I had a natural curiosity to hear about his podcasting background, So let’s join Tom Marshall to talk about podcasting, Undermine, Osiris Media, and “David Bowie” from 12/29/94 at the Providence Civic Center.

Phandemic Cover Photo Cred: Nicole Price from 12/30/18 Words from Dawn Jenkins re: Eyes Of The World Nature Immersion:"In 2019, I took the next step in my journey and career of spreading my passion for educating children outdoors by starting Eyes Of The World Nature Immersion. In 1998 I graduated college with my degree in Elementary Education and stated that some day I will open a school named Eyes Of The World. For over 20 years I have been integrating nature into every aspect of my interactions with children. Founding Eyes Of The World Discovery Center gifted me 7 years of hands on work with preschoolers in the forest as well expanding my network of colleagues, professional development trainings, building/maintaining a beautiful outdoor classroom and most importantly instilling a deep rooted love for the outdoors for so many children and families. Being recognized as Conservationist of the Year by the Kittery Land Trust was an amazing honor and so validating of my work.Eyes Of The World Nature Immersion, LLC is fully insured through Eastern Insurance and offers preschool & elementary school outdoor nature programs as well as teacher trainings, school consulting, outdoor classroom development & EOTWNI curriculum integration. I have been told by many, "If you build it they will come". We're so grateful for your ideas & enthusiastic energy, Dawn! Thanks for sharing your voice and your stories! In the latest episode of Across the Margin: The Podcast, host Michael Shields takes a step back from the typical format that regularly comprises the journeys Beyond The Margin, and once again digs into what it means to be a member of the Osiris Media Group. Osiris is a community of podcasts and podcasters that connects enthusiasts of the arts, culture and music with an eclectic and fascinating array of podcasts and live experiences. In Episode 43, Michael dove into the Arts, Culture and Comedy podcasts of Osiris, and to further round out Beyond The Margin's exploration of the experiences Osiris has to offer, this episode focuses in on the podcasts that are musically inclined, a bevy of offerings that celebrate jazz, indie and psychedelic rock, bluegrass, and more (and unequivocally, Osiris offers the most dynamic and compelling collection of podcasts dedicated to Phish, the Grateful Dead and Ween you will find anywhere)!Osiris Media’s specialty, its unparalleled strength, is its music podcasts, and this episode acts as a commemoration of this potency. Packing it in and offering insight into a plethora of Osiris’s library, this episode features micro-interviews with Brad Tenbrook from The Helping Friendly Podcast, the God Ween Evan team (Paul Gutkowski, Katie Hartman, Will Nunziata, and, of course, Evan Kaufman), The Tour’s Ted Canova, Phil Freeman of Burning Ambulance Podcast, Jonathan Hart of Brokedown Podcast, Staci Smith of Strangers Stopping Strangers, Ira Haberman of The Sound Podcast, Rob Turner of Inside Out With Turner & Seth, Brian Brinkman of Beyond The Pond, Dawn Jenkins of Phemale-Centrics, and Harvey Couch of The Bluest Tape.
