How do tapes work? Who's back (for the first time even though we don't see them)? And what's set way back in the middle of a field? We record the answers to these questions and more as we deconstruct Season 1, Episode 8 of Family Matters. Alex Diamond, David Kenny, and John McDaniel heard that the long-running network sitcom Family Matters ends with side character Steve Urkel going to space. And the best way to figure out how that happened - obviously - is to watch the last episode first and make our way backwards through nearly ten years of television.Join our countdown to number one (and our slow descent into madness) in all the places you expect internet people to be:Website: jumpingtheshuttle.spaceEmail: jumpingtheshuttle@gmail.comInstagram: @JumpingTheShuttle / @ThatAlexD / @dak577Twitter: @JumpingShuttle / @ThatAlexD / @dak577TikTok: @JumpingTheShuttle / @ThatAlexD / @dak577Brought to you by Smooth My Balls

On this episode of #LatinosOutLoud, @RachelLaLoca chats virtually with powerhouse Latina actress of Indigenous roots, Joanna DeLane. Joanna hit the big screen nationwide on March 28th with Jason Statham and David Harbour in the box office hit, A WORKING MAN. Joanna will be recurring in the upcoming Netflix medical drama series PULSE, that began on April 3rd. ABOUT THE FILM A WORKING MAN follows Levon Cade (Statham), who left his profession behind to work construction and be a good dad to his daughter. But when a local girl vanishes, he's asked to return to the skills that made him a mythic figure in the shadowy world of counterterrorism. DeLane appears as Joyce Lefferty, the wife of Gunny (Harbour), a longtime military friend and confidant of Levon Cade. The film marks the second time DeLane has worked with action director David Ayer, explaining “One of my first acting gigs was a background role in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Sabotage. It was very action-packed, and I remember thinking this was the epitome of an action movie -- intense but fun. When it released in theaters, I got messages from friends and family asking if I was in it. 'Yes?' I answered, unsure of how they'd spotted me. I watched it myself and sure enough, there I was—for a few seconds on the big screen, flashing my famous smile, right before the shooting began. Little did anyone realize, the film was directed by David Ayer, who unknowingly gave me my first silver screen moment. Fast forward several years later and here we are – with David giving me my next one!" DeLane also jumps into action alongside Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell recurring as ER Nurse Hill on the anticipated Netflix series, PULSE. This high-stakes drama with a side of romance follows the personal and professional lives of the doctors and staff at a busy Miami trauma center. When the hospital goes into lockdown, tensions rise, secrets spill, and the ER staff must juggle saving lives while dealing with their own drama. “I've always been a fan of medical dramas, so getting to be involved in this new show was an incredible experience. Netflix is on the cusp of another hit, and the cast and crew did an amazing job—I can't wait for everyone to see Pulse,” shares DeLane. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, this Hispanic actress and filmmaker of Indigenous roots has been building a solid reputation for her talents in Hollywood. DeLane has proudly appeared in projects that have made significant strides in representation like Hulu's Prey, Marvel's Echo, FX's Mayans M.C., and Paramount's 1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story. Her credits also include Perry Mason, Hacks, NCIS: Hawai'i, Mrs. Davis, I Think You Should Leave, The Terminal List and many others. Fueled by her deep-rooted passion for addressing the lack of diversity and inclusion in Film and TV, DeLane expanded her career behind the scenes as a Producer. She produced the 2024 Telly Award Gold Winner for Best Music Video for Shania Twain's ‘Giddy Up', and the “Muhammad Ali” Diljit Featuring NLE Choppa music video which is currently nominated for Best International Music Video from the 2025 Hollywood Music Video Awards. Her production credits include working with numerous musical mega-stars, including Melissa Etheridge, Bush, and Paul Anka. As a creative entrepreneur, DeLane co-founded the female filmmaking community Ladies Above the Line and started the branding and marketing company Materials Makeover, sharing with other actors the practical knowledge she has gained from working in various roles across the industry. The followup, A Working Man (co-written by Sylvester Stallone!) finds Statham as Levon Cade, a former British soldier now working in construction in Chicago, who is asked to rescue the daughter of his employer from a sex trafficking ring run by the Russian Mafia. We discuss this unique writer/director partnership, a lightning round of some of our favourite Jason Statham movies, and the many highlights from both The Beekeeper and A Working Man, action films that know what they are, deliver the goods and correctly identify the worst people in today's society (scam artists, crypto bros, white South African psychos and guys with Jared Leto beards). Trev, Dave, and Shea dive into The Working Man, a baffling new Jason Statham action film that blends human trafficking, drug rings, Bluetooth-enabled murder, and trench coat-wearing Russian mobsters — all with zero logic and questionable dialogue. They discuss whether Sylvester Stallone wrote it as a prank, what went wrong with the direction, and why some moments felt like AI-generated filler. Bonus tangents include White Lotus, Girl Meets World, Sabrina Carpenter, and Dave's mic technique. An honest, hilariously frustrated breakdown of a movie that truly broke them. Video of this episode is also up on YouTube!

A Minecraft Movie, A Working Man and A More! 16 years ago in 2009 a game developer called Markus "Notch" Persson started seeing blocks in a game called Infiniminer... this sparked his imagination and he began to create blocks everywhere... everything in blocky shapes. simple colours and perfectly cuboid construction pieces. There are a few thing certainties you can count on in movies. If it's an Adam Sandler movie, there'll be at least one fart joke. If it's a Jason Statham movie, there'll be at least one dude getting a limb broken and plenty of punching. This week's movie “A Working Man” that bill. Statham plays Levon Cade, who used to be an elite military operator, but now tries to make an honest living as a working man in construction. He works for land developer Joe Garcia, played by Michael Pena, who knows what he used to do. When Joe's daughter is kidnapped, he pleads to Levon to find and return her. Levon has a young daughter himself, so he can feel this father's pain and agrees. That decision lights the fuse on a bloody mission to find the girl. The human traffickers responsible for taking her, have no idea who is on their trail. Levon makes them very aware of who's hunting them, one by one. Levon has to intimidate, go undercover and just plain go on all-out frontal assaults as part of his quest. Is it worth going to the theater to find out how it all ends? Watch this episode to find out. “A Working Man” also stars Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, David Harbour, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Isla Gie, Emmett J Scanlan and Eve Mauro.Support the showFeel free to reach out to me via:@MoviesMerica on Twitter @moviesmerica on InstagramMovies Merica on Facebook

Everyone's here now! —SB On this week's episode, Sonny Bunch (The Bulwark), Alyssa Rosenberg (The Washington Post), and Peter Suderman (Reason) examine how Donald Trump's “warrior for free speech” at the FCC, Brendan Carr, is using his position to punish companies whose speech the president doesn't like. The MCU is once again in the spotlight as major Avengers: The Kang Dynasty leaks have surfaced online—and we're diving into everything we've learned. On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, we break down the original plan for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, its evolution into Avengers: Doomsday, and what it all means for Marvel Phase 5, Secret Wars, and the future of the Multiverse Saga. Marvel Studios seems to have scrapped Kang as the main villain in favor of Doctor Doom—and for good reason. After Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania flopped and Jonathan Majors' legal issues became a major concern, insiders say the studio lost faith in the Council of Kangs storyline. Now, with Stephen McFeely rewriting both Avengers 5 and Secret Wars, and the Russo Brothers returning to direct, the entire direction has shifted. We're breaking down the leaked Kang Dynasty script that includes wild reveals like a Moon Knight team-up, Miles Morales' MCU debut, a Deadpool 3 crossover, and even a Spider-Man: No Way Home reunion. Plus, what role was Doctor Doom supposed to play before becoming the central threat in Avengers: Doomsday? And how does this affect the lead-in to Avengers: Secret Wars? Other stories covered: Captain America: Brave New World nears $200M at the domestic box office. A Working Man dominates Snow White in a surprise upset. Warner Bros. shakeups and early talks of new leadership. First reactions for The Minecraft Movie are in—and they're surprisingly mixed but intriguing. AND — in a massive shift — Warner Bros. has completed the worldwide sale of Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment. Yes, the previously shelved, fan-beloved Looney Tunes film is back! The Wile E. Coyote movie—starring Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, directed by Dave Green and written by Samy Burch—was shelved for tax reasons despite strong test screenings. But now it's getting a theatrical release in 2026, with Ketchup shelling out close to $50 million for the rights. Produced by James Gunn, this film has become symbolic of Hollywood's internal battles between artistry and cost-cutting. Marvel. DC. Box office drama. Studio shakeups. Leaks. Come for the nerd news—stay for the chaos.
