Hey Cringers! This week, we watched “Batman”. Not one of those overhyped multimillion dollar Batman movies with all of those mega-stars. We watched the best version; “Batman”, from 1966 starring Adam West and Burt Ward.If you haven't, watch this movie. Round up the neighborhood kids, get them hopped up on Kool-Aid, and show them this classic. Be sure and get parental permission slips signed first though. April Rodgers welcomes Shivon Woodard to discuss how waiting on God can be seen as a privilege rather than a punishment. Below are some of our favorite takeaways from today's show: ⭐️ Waiting on God is a privilege because we are revealing God's goodness through our experiences. ⭐️ Trusting God in the waiting allows us to see that we have value because of who we are in Him. ⭐️ The things that we value the most are formed in pressure and darkness. The better a diamond is cut, the more light it reflects. Refining moments bring out our purpose. ⭐️ We can use our time of waiting to practice for our future. Wait on purpose with purpose! ⭐️ Perspective is everything! His timing is perfect and it gives us a peace and joy in the waiting. About our Guest: Pastor Shivon Woodard is currently the Discipleship pastor for Christ Church in West Monroe, LA. Shivon joined the Christ Church staff in 2017 as their first African-American female pastor where she served her first two years of full-time ministry as the Young Adult Pastor. In 2016, she completed her ministry certificate with the Destiny Leadership Institute and was licensed and ordained as a minister under the Destiny Church and Ministers Network in June of 2018. Among all her personal achievements, Shivon is most passionate about sharing the Gospel of Christ and empowering the body of Christ to live abundantly. We are back with part 2 from last week's episode. Shivon and Bright Oduro-Kwateng speak about the health challenges surrounding their son who has hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He was born with half a heart and was only given two weeks to live. He has had to have numerous heart surgeries in order to keep him alive. According to medical professions, his future is uncertain, but Bright and Shivon continue to put their trust in God for their son's survival. Their journey as a married couple has not been easy, but with the support that they have received from family and friends and their faith in God, they have been able to draw closer to each other. Do you find balancing marriage, children and work a challenge? Well you are not alone. Joining me on this episode is our first couple Bright and Shivon Kwateng. They share what they have learnt within this past five years of being married. Balancing marriage, children and personal career endeavours has not been easy for them both. Shivon who is a song writer, has had to put this on hold in order to focus on their children and her counselling degree. Whilst Bright, a motivational speaker, reinforces the importance of finding and walking in your purpose which is your God-given identity. It is important in marriage to release our spouse to pursue their own God-given calling. Marriage is hard work and without having a solid foundation to lean on when things gets hard it may not last. Having faith as the bedrock of this foundation will enable you to keep serving and loving each other. You can connect with them both on Instagram @bok.motivates
