The interest in the drink has parents, schools and health experts concerned with the impact it could have on Aussie kids health, while adults are behaving badly in their attempts to get a hold of a bottle. In this episode of The Quicky, we speak to a dietician to see just how bad this actually is for kids, and we hear from kids on why they can't get enough. Subscribe to Mamamia GET IN TOUCH Feedback? Hey Cringers! This week, we watched “Batman”. Not one of those overhyped multimillion dollar Batman movies with all of those mega-stars. We watched the best version; “Batman”, from 1966 starring Adam West and Burt Ward.If you haven't, watch this movie. Round up the neighborhood kids, get them hopped up on Kool-Aid, and show them this classic. Be sure and get parental permission slips signed first though. I'm still on the list for one very small lapse in judgement. At least I don't have to buy Halloween candy anymore. And as always, we'd love to hear from you! Email us at sscringefest@gmail.com. Welcome back to another week of Kaizoku Uncharted! Jakia isn't sharing what the DIY Club got up to this week, with Jenae and Justin being D.I.Y haters. Justin starts us off with Arknight and the crew agrees that its always great to see Talulah and Jenae likes her because she's an arsonist. We finally learn as to why both parties were after Misha and it was a pretty lame reason. In Beast Tamer, the Hero's descent was quick with this ring and cloak situation and Justin and Jakia are on the same page about the newest entry in the 'Can't Stand Book'. Is Himeno truly gone? We don't know! The crew has alot of questions for this week's episode of Chainsaw Man, Justin's annoyed with Aki and everyone is impressed with Makami's powers and Kobeni's skills. All this and more in this week's episode of Kaizoku Uncharted. Kaizoku Uncharted Website: https://kaizokuunchartedpodcast.wordpress.com
Imagine at the age of 10 with the help of your Grandma, you discover and decide on what career you want to pursue and what university course you will study. Well that was the reality for Talulah Gaunt. Growing up in South West London, Talulah always loved animals. In her early days the interest was found through zoo's and aquariums until as a consumer she began to become more interested in farming. One day she was exposed to someone who was a campaigner, and this led Talulah down a pathway to find out more about farm animal welfare and the world leading standards within the UK. This took her on to what she calls 'an obsession' to find our more about food, product labelling, marketing and especially animal welfare messaging. I'm amazed with Talulah's self-awareness and willingness to broaden her perspectives. She's spent time working on dairy farms in Wales and New Zealand before heading over to Australia and as part of her visa working on a grains and cotton property in the Northern NSW town of North Star. I found this chat really refreshing, it is so true that there is no linear pathway that 'you must follow this pathway to be in agriculture' and Talulah is a prime example of that. Anyone with a passion can get involved in agriculture.Today, Talulah is the Manager for RSPCA Approved Farming Scheme, her work involves overseeing the programs for higher animal welfare across Australian farms to transition to higher welfare practices.
This week in Kaizoku Uncharted, Justin shares some exciting news about The Time that I Was Reincarnated as a Slime and the crew goes into depth about how they determine how a show ends up in the line up, what goes on the back burner and what's dropped. Justin realizes that she needs to be more clear about what it truly means for a show to be backburner for him, whereas Jenae and Jakia are in alignment. They're going to the beach in Do It Yourself and unfortunately, Purin invites herself to the group outing and in true Purin fashion, she keeps being weird around Serafu instead of just letting her know that she wants to be friends. Jakia thinks this episode Takumi is her time to shine and Jenae doesn't think so much. In Beast Tamer, Rein and the party have come across another ultimate species. Justin and Jenae are shocked that Jakia doesn't think that the fairy village chief is trash, she understands his point, they shouldn't have left the village in the first place. In Bibliophile Princess, Jakia and Jenae guess immediately which character Justin was going to put in his hate book. We're all confused how everyone in the room doesn't see Eli just standing there at the top of the stairs outside of the prince. Everyone realizes that they too did not recognize Alan Ferrera in all these years, Justin thinks he's a secret protector and Jakia says that he's a secret pawn. In Reincarnated as a Sword, Jakia wonders if the rest of the dungeon party will ever make it in time and Jenae thinks not. The crew is rolling, when Fran cuts off the hand of the dungeon master and the shocked it caused. Jenae decides that this is a weak dungeon and everyone is confused about who this random man is. All we have to say about this week's episode of Chainsaw man is, Aki's backstory and we stuck on the 8th floor. The crew discusses Ark Knight, Talulah is a beast and Mephisto and Faust are outrageous and in true Jakia fashion she needs more answers and has too many questions. But what we do know is that the animation is beautiful. All the and more in this week's episode of Kaizoku Uncharted!

We've always known our Lauren and guest Lauren aka Curvy Roamer are practically the same person. And now finally the Laurens are united and getting wine drunk!! In this episode, we had a big fat dmc about everything from dating and being fetishised, to the pressure of ageing and getting botox, and even to Lauren (Talulah)'s past life as a dairy farmer. It's chaos, but in the best possible way. So grab your rosés and settle in!

Q&A on the FX series Pistol with actor Talulah Riley. Moderated by Mara Webster, In Creative Company. Based on Jones' memoir "Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol", the limited series "Pistol" is the story of a band of spotty, noisy, working-class kids with "no future" who shook the boring, corrupt Establishment to its core, threatened to bring down the government and changed music and culture forever. The furious, raging storm at the center of this revolution is the band Sex Pistols -- and at the center of this series is Sex Pistols' founding member and guitarist, Steve Jones. Jones' hilarious, emotional and at times heartbreaking journey guides viewers through a kaleidoscopic telling of three of the most epic, chaotic and mucus-spattered years in the history of music.

Michael and Wes run TwoDads.U.K documenting their journey to become Dads and working hard to raise awareness of surrogacy in the UK. Michael speaks at National Fertility events about their journey to become Dads, and the treatment of Intended Parents in the NHS - which still has a long way to go from an equality perspective as well as documenting their journey for the likes of Surrogacy UK, The Fertility Road Magazine and the tremendous website Gays With Kids, who also happen to be following their next Surrogacy journey which the pair share with regular blog posts via their website https://www.twodaddies.co.uk/blog (twodaddies.co.uk ) Michael and Wes have a clear mission, to educating everyone about Surrogacy and the journey same-sex intended parents (IP's) have to endure and by doing this they hope to normalise that gays have kids too Michael also runs https://www.facebook.com/SSPCGUK/?ref=br_rs (Same-Sex Parents facebook page) with a friend Steven Darby. Steven and his partner Connor have a little boy named George the same age as Talulah. The page was launched early in 2018 and is designed to bring other same-sex families together as we also hold regular meetups nationally. There is also a https://www.facebook.com/groups/426369251128752/?source_id=583189338728137 ( facebook chat) group In 2018, the work they do for Two Dads UK was recognised as the part were called upon to speak at an All Party Parliamentary group to give their lived experience as two parents through UK surrogacy. They met a number of Intended Parents, Healthcare professionals, Singles and representatives of International and UK surrogacy. The discussions were about the glaringly obvious issues with the current surrogacy law regarding the parental order. Where the law is slightly out of kilter is that the surrogate and her husband are the legal guardians of your child. What the pair would like to see is similar to how it is in the United States, where paperwork submitted at the point of conception and granted at birth - currently, you have to wait for six weeks and one day for it to go into court ADDITIONAL POINTS TO CONSIDER: Make sure everyone is on the same page We took legal advice and we drafted an intention doc with our surrogate Seek advice from an organisation such as Surrogacy UK Adopted the friendship first mentality of Surrogacy UK - 11 months of friendship before we started Speak to Hospital trust about the birth plan - we wanted to walk out with our child with the balloons into the carpark like anyone else does but it became very apparent we weren't gonna get what we wanted We would have to hand over in the carpark off hospital premises Our presence on the maternity ward wasn't what we expected, we weren't going to be allowed to see our child being born We got legal advice and our team did threaten with the intention to sue as there were multiple points where they were discriminating against us SOCIAL MEDIA: Fertility Poddy https://www.instagram.com/fertilitypoddy/ (https://www.instagram.com/fertilitypoddy/) Kate https://www.instagram.com/your_fertility_journey/ (https://www.instagram.com/your_fertility_journey/)

Maya and the Turtle: A Korean Fairy Tale by Soma Han and John C. Stickler Read aloud by John C. Stickler Prize-Winning Oriental Fairy Tale Returns as Unique Audiobook A classic Korean lesson in filial piety, respect for one's parents, is presented in an engaging Cinderella story. Maya and the Turtle: A Korean Fairy Tale originally debuted as a picture book from Tuttle Publishing written and illustrated by Soma Han and John Stickler. Now it reappears as a unique, 11-minute audiobook narrated by Talulah Shadrick, age 12. As Publishers Weekly reviewed the picture book: "The husband-and-wife team of Stickler and Han retells a fairy tale from Han's childhood, in which a young woman's kindness and bravery are rewarded handsomely." The American Library Association, in their online Booklistnewsletter, praised the new audiobook, "Child actor Shadrick gives a charming performance . . . dramatically flawless." The audio retail price is reduced through December. To hear a one-minute sample of Talulah's audio debut, or to order a download, visit: www.libro.fm and type Maya and the Turtle in the search box. Unknown to the authors, Maya was entered into a competition held by 15 international schools (instruction in English) across South Korea. Students in grades 4-6 were introduced to four new children's books, given one school year to read them all, and then asked to vote for their favorite. Across all schools Maya was the most popular and took home the international Morning Calm Medal. British schoolchildren ages 9-12 sat as judges in the 2020 Wishing Shelf Book Awards and gave Maya four stars in the prestigious annual competition. The official announcement July 2021 lauded the audiobook as a finalist "highly recommended!"
Good Spirits Hospitality plans to buy Nourish Group for $27.2 million, creating one of New Zealand's largest hospitality operators.Listed Good Spirits Hospitality (GSH) will buy 10 venues including Auckland's Soul Bar & Bistro and will bring GSH's total venues to 20. The deal is happening as the restaurant sector faces the unprecedented challenges of Covid-19 lockdowns, especially in Auckland, and new dining rules that will come in with the "traffic light" system.Last month one Nourish Group restaurant, Euro, announced it would close, blaming the impact of the pandemic. The acquisition will more than double the size and earnings of GSH and "allow significant financial and operational synergies" across the combined group along with an important platform for growth.Nourish Group owns 10 hospitality venues throughout New Zealand including Soul Bar in Auckland's Viaduct Basin, Talulah, The Chamberlain, The Brit, Andiamo, Shed 5, The Crab Shack (Wellington), Pravda Café and Grill, Jervois Steak House (Auckland and Queenstown) and also provides advisory services to Bistro Lago.GSH venues include Danny Doolans and The Cav.The combined group says it will be well-placed for further growth with several proven repeatable concepts and brands which can be rolled out further around New Zealand and abroad.Once complete, GSH will employ more than 450 people."This is a transformational growth opportunity for GSH," says company chairman Duncan Makeig."We are excited about the opportunity to leverage Nourish Group's industry-leading expertise in the restaurant and social dining segments. The combined group will provide a platform for further growth and innovation. This is just the start of an exciting journey together."The base purchase price is $21.3m cash (on a debt free/cash free basis) with up to an additional $5.9m payable 12 to 24 months after settlement through an agreed earnout formula based on venue outperformance. The full purchase price will be funded through a combination of cash, new debt and the balance through equity placement and the overall transaction will lower GSH's current debt gearing ratio.Industry veteran, Nourish Group's founder Richard Sigley, will join the GSH board and executive.Throughout the past two decades, the Nourish Group has cemented its position as the benchmark for hospitality businesses in New Zealand, winning several Lewisham Awards for excellence in the industry with its institutional, long-standing establishments."GSH is delighted for the staff in both companies and is committed to being the employer of choice in the on-premise hospitality sector," said Geoff Tuttle, chief executive of GSH."Both GSH and Nourish have dedicated, strong teams of talented hospitality professionals. A united team with a shared purpose and values will see us continue to deliver excellent service and memorable experiences to our local communities. We also each hold a number of long-standing, trusted partnerships with suppliers and industry players that we look forward to jointly leveraging with our new scale and geographic reach."The owners of Nourish Group will retain The Crab Shack (Auckland).Completion of the acquisition is subject to several conditions including:GSH's shareholder approvals, which will be sought at a special shareholder's meeting anticipated to be held in the first quarter of 2022;GSH's financier consenting to the overall transaction and GSH entering new financing arrangements;GSH obtaining satisfactory financing (debt and equity) to fund the payment of the purchase price and landlord, key supplier and other stakeholder consents being obtained to ensure the continuation of the day-to-day operation of the business.- by Grant Bradley, NZ Herald

Brian Daly interviews RSPCA Australia’s Humane Food Marketing Officer, Talulah Gaunt to find out more of what is to come on season 2 of the Humane Food podcast. Some of our listeners may only know the RSPCA for the work we do to prevent cruelty to companion animals like cats and dogs. But the organisation has a long history of working to improve farm animal welfare. In fact the RSPCA in Australia was started in Victoria to improve the lives of working horses; and the national organisation of RSPCA Australia was also created to address farm animal welfare issues such as battery cages and live exports at the federal level. The key point of difference for the RSPCA – and what differentiates us from many other animal welfare groups – is that our policies and positions are based on the best available science and evidence. That’s important to understand because it’s crucial to our work and our activities, and this approach underpins our role in Australian agriculture. Our focus is always to work and engage with a wide range of stakeholders in the livestock sector, supporting research and development, and connecting with individual producers including through the RSPCA Approved Farming Scheme, in order to improve the welfare of the very large numbers of animals being farmed in Australia today. Likewise, other listeners may be wondering why the RSPCA doesn’t actively promote a vegetarian or vegan diet? Well, the reason is that, just as the RSPCA respects the choices of people who don’t consume meat or other animal products, we also want to help those people who do eat animal products to make the best welfare choices. One way of reducing the suffering of animals in livestock production systems is by not purchasing products that are sourced from farm animals at all. Indeed, when some people become aware of the realities of large-scale animal farming, they choose to become vegetarian or vegan. We respect this choice. But some people do choose and continue to consume meat, eggs and dairy – so for these people, another way to reduce the suffering of farmed animals is to seek out and purchase high welfare animal products. This both directly improves the lives of farm animals and helps encourage farmers to move to higher welfare systems. While there are still many people who are unaware or unconcerned about the suffering of farm animals, there’s a growing community of people who accept animal farming but choose to source products from animals farmed in a more humane manner. So, while the farming of animals for food and fibre continues, the RSPCA seeks to ensure that the conditions under which those animals live meet all their essential physical and behavioural needs. The RSPCA believes we can help improve how farm animals are treated by getting involved in the process and constantly pushing for higher production standards along the supply chain. We do this at government, industry and producer level. Key points: Teaser of the topics season 2 will cover The RSPCA’s approach to engaging with farming industry and encouraging change for better animal welfare Why the RSPCA isn’t a vegetarian or vegan organisation Further links: https://kb.rspca.org.au/knowledge-base/what-role-does-the-rspca-play-in-australian-agriculture-and-livestock-production/ https://rspcaapproved.org.au/ https://www.choosewisely.org.au/

Michael talks about coming out; building a family with his husband, Wes; the 3-4 years they researched surrogacy; the birth of their daughter, Talulah; and how they’re working hard to make LGBTQ parenting better, safer and more equal.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/infertile-af/donations
