Welcome, this week's guest Karina Pardus! Karina Pardus is a composer, solopreneur, and founder of Coy Compositions writing music for podcasts, video games, and has worked with companies such as Ipsy. She has been a panelist at the Salt Lake Gaming Convention, and a contributor to the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit. As a mom of 3, she knows that managing a family and a business requires a lot of creativity to not only balance her dreams, but to thrive among them. Links below! Karina begins by telling us the story of how she got into music composition and learning new niches where she could compose music. We talk about the differences and imperfections that society likes to judge us on and how to start to work through those and begin to celebrate our own journey. She then shares some of her personal struggles with her mental health and we really start to talk about the stories that we tell ourselves, especially in regards to our imperfections. We talk about connections and I connect the 20th Vision Board Success that I've had into the conversation. Karina and I also nerd out about Dungeons and Dragons. (there's a bonus episode coming out on Friday where we go full nerd!) We wrap up talking about some self-care techniques that you can use to help you embrace your imperfections with more love as well as embracing yourself with more love too. In this season I'm talking with my guests about their story and how they've been able to "rewrite their stars" in their own life. Then after they've shared their story we transition into talking about vision boards for a little bit and I share one of the successes that I've had. Again, why I'm sharing my successes with you is to show that you can do the same thing, to use a vision board yourself and that you can rewrite your stars in your own life. Also, if you want to be a guest on my podcast, then be sure to fill out this questionnaire so that we can see about making that a reality. Because there are so many stories of people rewriting their stars, and I want to share them! https://forms.gle/obKbT739sukbrWWE6 Thanks for listening! We recently attended the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit in Salt Lake City. As I walked around and checked out all the different booths, and the cool Arcade setup where they had a Super Smash Brothers tournament, I wondered about sales tax. I spoke with as many people as I could to discover what their company does. I would then ask them about sales tax, and of course they weren’t sure what they did for sales tax. I don’t blame them, they aren’t the ones in charge of the sales tax in their business. I wondered though, what the sales tax nexus implications were for being an exhibitor at a trade show. This is what I learned.Additional Questions Answered:What is physical nexus? What is economic nexus? How can attending trade shows trigger physical nexus? If I don’t have economic nexus am I exempt from physical nexus?Do all the states have the same sales tax laws? What activities can trigger physical nexus in a state?Do I have to get registered in the state where I am exhibiting in a trade show? What are my options when I need to get registered for sales tax?If you attend trade shows and you feel you may have exceeded some of the thresholds you can schedule a free consultation HERE.
