It's easy to think following Jesus should always be dramatic, miraculous, or complicated… but Naaman's story in 2 Kings 5 shows us something different. God asked him to do something simple—and in that simplicity, healing came.If you've ever felt like faith was too complicated, too demanding, or that you had to “get it all together” before coming to God, this message is for you.Want to learn more about Radical?Instagram: @radicalchurchFacebook: www.facebook.com/radicalchurchtxWebsite: www.radicalchurch.lifeRadical Church | Sundays | 8:15AM, 9:45AM, 11:15AM & 12:55PM1151 Bunton Creek Rd Ste 1001, Kyle, TX 78640

Join Pastor Mike Burchfield as he continues his series, Jesus Christ: Perfect Man - Mighty God. This Sunday he will be discussing: The High Cost of Simple Obedience in Matthew 1:18-23. "...an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

In today's episode, we will be looking at two passages of scripture to help us break this down, as well as myself sharing some personal stories of how this has played out in my life; and then in the end what God is working on in me right now in regards to a simple act of obedience that's leading me deeper sanctification.Josiahmovius12@yahoo.comCrystals hand made jewelry business IG page: https://www.instagram.com/crystalshandcraftedjewels?igsh=MXEzY2t5dm1xZHR6Nw%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

On Sunday one of our deacons, Chris Sharp, gave a word on what obedience looks like as we walk in the Spirit. Our desire for revival in this town starts with our individual obedience. A sacrifice that didn't come from a place of obedience is not a pleasing sacrifice to God. The only way we get to true obedience is through trust. The goal of our lives is to learn and know God's heart - to come to a deep belief in His goodness. Once that trust is developed, we are able to obey fully when He speaks. May God find us willing to let Him dictate our lives. He will be our Leader, our Shepherd and our King.

Trust and Obey Pastor John Michael Barajas Proverbs 3:5-8 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. 1. Love and trust can be two different things with man. Jeremiah 17:5-8 Trust and Faith are similar, but they are not mutually exclusive. Jeremiah 7:22&23 22For when I brought your ancestors out of Egypt and spoke to them, I did not just give them commands about burnt offerings and sacrifices, 23 but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you. 2. Simple Obedience is the key to kingdom living. 3. Complete Obedience is what God is seeking. You can disobey by not doing the right thing. James 4:17 17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them. When God gives you an assignment or a job or something to take on...don't compare yourself to everyone else...Because God is not going to judge someone else base upon what He told YOU to do. Partial obedience can cut your destiny short. and could cost you your destiny Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22 4. Obedience builds trust - Everytime you obey God...it gets easier!

Usually, when we're looking for some kind of emotional lifeline to get us through the day, we only want to know what God can do for us. How do we get that peace of mind that we desperately need? One component is obedience. At first, this sounds like a test that's too hard. We need relief right now! Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” That sounds like real peace of mind. It requires that we concentrate on ejecting all the junk in our heads, and replacing it with God's Word. Learning obedience is key, because it reveals the Father's perfect will for our lives. In this way, we almost back-into the peace that we were already looking for. This brings us into harmony with our Creator. A renewed, fresh and clean mind…it's also a mind that is at rest. Let's pray. Lord, teach us your ways. Help us uncover the peace of mind that those without You don't have. Then help us show them the way. In Jesus' name, amen.

An introduction to the CR Summer School in Harpenden, England in 2022. Derek Mack preaches on the importance of having the courage to obey God and go when He sends you. Derek emphasizes the frequency that God uses the words "go" and "send" throughout Scripture.
Sometimes we do more to impress God or we do less because we don't think we can do it. God doesn't look at our abilities to work through us, He looks at our obedient and surrendered hearts. If you have dealt with abuse in the past, the word “obedience” can feel like a controlling and dominating word. When we talk about it, we are talking about trusting God and allowing that trust to do His will on this earth. Humans are just really terrible about trusting and obeying. We try to do things our own way and negotiate with God, then we have to go back to Him and do it the way He needed us to do it. He is merciful as we continue to learn to trust Him, but the death and resurrection of Jesus empowered us to trust and obey in a better way– and right away.
This world is not our home. It was never intended to be. We are pilgrims here on earth and we should live as such. The problem that has arisen is that many Christians have become escapists instead of pilgrims. They see the world as a hostile place, so they run and hide from it. No matter what our eschatology is, we must focus not on escapism, but on simple acts of obedience, which are the building bricks of the Kingdom! In part 5 of our class on "Advancing the Kingdom", Aaron Salvato helps us see the power of simple acts of obedience when it comes to moving God's Kingdom forward, and has a compelling discussion with students Zach & Ellie Owens, Sam Bucelli, and Emilia DiNatale. Class produced by Calvary Global Network (CGN).
