Todaywe begin a new section in Philippians chapter 3. In the previous verses, Paulhas been sharing the great passion of his heart when he said, "That I mayknow Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of Hissufferings." Now, as we come to Philippians 3:12, Paul begins to describehis pursuit of Christ. He writes: "Not as though I had alreadyattained, either were already perfect..." Paul gives us one of themost important secrets of spiritual growth, and it is surprisingly simple. Thesecret is this: never become satisfied with where you are spiritually. Nowthink about who is making this statement. This is not a new convert. This isnot a believer who has only been walking with Christ for a few months. This isthe Apostle Paul. By the time he writes Philippians, Paul has walked withChrist for nearly thirty years. And yet, Paul says: "Not as though Ihad already attained, either were already perfect." The word"perfect" here does not mean sinless perfection. It means complete, finished, mature, or having fully arrived at the goal. Paulis saying, "I have not crossed the finish line yet. God's work in my lifeis not complete." What humility! The very man we would probably considerone of the greatest Christians who ever lived looked at himself and said,"I still have room to grow." One of the surest marks of spiritualmaturity is realizing how much more maturity is needed. The closer we get toJesus, the more clearly we see areas in our lives that need His transforminggrace. Have you ever noticed that when you first clean a window, it lookspretty good? But when the sunlight shines through it, suddenly you noticestreaks and smudges you never saw before. 1John 1:7 says: “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we havefellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses usfrom all sin.” The closer we walkwith Christ, the brighter His light shines on our hearts. We begin to seeattitudes, motives, habits, and weaknesses that need to change. That does notdiscourage a growing Christian. Instead, it motivates him. Paul had what wemight call a holy dissatisfaction. He was satisfied with Christ, but he was notsatisfied with his own spiritual progress. There is a tremendous differencebetween those two things. Paul had found complete satisfaction in Jesus Christ, but he still longed to know Him more deeply, love Him more fully, and serve Himmore faithfully. Sadly, one of the greatest dangers in the Christian life is spiritual complacency. Thechurch at Laodicea is a perfect example. In Revelation 3:17 they said: "Iam rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing."ButJesus saw them differently. He said they were: "Wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked." They thoughtthey had arrived when in reality they were far from where they needed to be.That danger still exists today. Sometimeswe compare ourselves with other Christians instead of comparing ourselves withChrist. Paul never compared himself to other believers. He compared himself to Jesus Christ. And when you compare yourself to Jesus, there is always room to grow. Psalm42:1-2 gives us a beautiful picture of holy dissatisfaction: "As thedeer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soulthirsts for God, for the living God." The psalmist was not contentwith yesterday's fellowship. He longed for more of God today. That was Paul'sattitude. That should be our attitude as well. A satisfied Christian is often astagnant Christian. The Christian race is not over until we see Jesus face toface. There are still lessons to learn, victories to win, prayers to pray, people to reach, and ways to become more like Christ. So let us embrace whatPaul embraced—a holy dissatisfaction that keeps us pursuing Christ every day ofour lives.

Paul repeats the word beware three times here. It is as thoughhe is sounding a spiritual alarm. He is saying, “Watch out! Be careful! Payattention!” He uses such strong language because false teaching isdangerous. Paulis warning the Philippians about a group of false teachers known as theJudaizers. These men seemed to follow the Apostle Paul everywhere he went, spreading their false doctrine. They said, “Jesus is good, but you must alsokeep the Law of Moses. You must be circumcised. You must become Jewish beforeyou can really be saved.” In other words, they were teaching Jesus plussomething. But the true gospel is never Jesus plus anything. The true gospel isJesus alone. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Thechurch council at Jerusalem in Acts 15 settled that question for the earlychurch. But some people refused to listen and continued teaching these things. So Paul describes them with three vivid pictures. First, he calls them “dogs”.When you hear that word, you might think of your beloved family pet. But thatis not the picture here. In Bible times, dogs were wild scavengers that roamedthe streets. They fed on garbage, carried disease, and could be dangerous. Theyoften traveled in packs. Ironically, the Jews often called the Gentiles dogs. But Paul turns that insult around andsays that these false teachers are the real dogs. They kept snapping at theheels of the Apostle Paul as he went about sharing the good news that Christalone saves. They followed him from city to city, barking their false doctrinesand causing confusion among new believers. My friend, false teaching isdangerous because it often sounds very close to the truth. A counterfeit maylook real, but it is still counterfeit. A glass of water may appear pure, butone ounce of poison destroys the whole thing. That is why we must know God'sWord. Second,Paul calls these false teachers “evil workers”. These men appeared to bevery religious. They were busy, sincere, and devoted. But Paul says their workswere actually evil. They were evil workers because they were trusting in humaneffort rather than God's grace alone. They were teaching people to depend onwhat they could do instead of what Christ had already done for them. Titus 3:5says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to Hismercy He saves us.” Good works do not produce salvation; good works are theresult of salvation. There is a big difference. The only thing that can save usis the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Third,Paul calls these Judaizers “the mutilation.” This is actually a play onwords. The Judaizers insisted that circumcision was necessary for salvation.Paul is saying that when a God-given symbol is turned into a requirement forsalvation, it loses its spiritual meaning and becomes nothing more than aphysical act. The true circumcision is not outward; it is inward. Romans2:28-29 tells us that true circumcision is a matter of the heart, performed bythe Spirit of God. God has always been interested in the heart. Religionfocuses on outward appearance; God focuses on inward reality.Today,we need discernment. The only way we can have that discernment is by being inGod's Word and filling our hearts and minds with His truth. When we handle thetruth regularly, we immediately recognize false teaching when it appears. Let me encourage you to test everything by Scripture. Know your Bible.Stay close to Jesus. Guard your heart. Never allow anything to take the placeof the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Let'spray. Father, thank You for the simple and glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.Give us discernment in these days when so many voices compete for ourattention. Help us recognize false teaching and stand firmly on the truth ofYour Word. May our confidence rest in Jesusalone. We pray this in His precious name. Amen.

Today we answer some of your questions from out Salvation series.
We we reject God's presence, we build false kingdoms to replace Him.
Acts 2:1-8, 12-14, 22-24, 43-47; OPENING MEDITATION From the Constitution of the UCCPreambleThe United Church of Christ acknowledges as its sole head, Jesus Christ, Son of Godand Savior. It acknowledges as kindred in Christ all who share in this confession. Itlooks to the Word of God in the Scriptures, and to the presence and power of theHoly Spirit, to prosper its creative and redemptive work in the world. It claims as itsown the faith of the historic Church expressed in the ancient creeds and reclaimedin the basic insights of the Protestant Reformers. It affirms the responsibility of theChurch in each generation to make this faith its own in reality of worship, in honestyof thought and expression, and in purity of heart before God.Article III. Covenantal RelationshipsWithin the United Church of Christ, the various expressions of the church relate toeach other in a covenantal manner. Each expression of the church hasresponsibilities and rights in relation to the others, to the end that the whole churchwill seek God's will and be faithful to God's mission. Decisions are made inconsultation and collaboration among the various parts of the structure. As membersof the Body of Christ, each expression of the church is called to honor and respectthe work and ministry of each other part. Each expression of the church listens, hears, and carefully considers the advice, counsel, and requests of others. In this covenant, the various expressions of the United Church of Christ seek to walk together in allGod's ways.
His presence changes everything! ABOUT THE MESSAGE In this Part 2 of Centered, Pastor Joey Kahl reminds us what it means to stay centered in God's presence in a world full of distractions. Looking at the life of Moses, Mary and Martha, and the invitation of God throughout Scripture, we're reminded that His presence is holy, it transforms us, and choosing to remain close to Him is what keeps us grounded when life becomes chaotic. La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
Delivered by Fiona from the Parish of Mary Queen of Rosary in the Archdiocese of Makassar, Indonesia. Acts of the Apostles 25: 13-21; Rs psalm 103: 1-2.11-12.19-20ab; John 21: 15-19.OUR JUSTIFICATION FROM THE LORD Our meditation today has the theme: Our JustificationFrom the Lord. There is a teenager, a junior high school student named Thomas, who is known to be very naughty both at home and at school. He has receivedvarious types of punishment. Almost everyone consider him a bad boy. Only hisparents still have hope that Thomas can change one day. His mother oftenadvises, that when he goes to and returns from school he has to pray in theChurch for he always passes in front of the church. One day there was a commotion in the classroom andonce again Thomas was accused of being the main cause of the problem, but infact it wasn't like that. He was cornered and he knew well that it was aslander. All blamed him. When the classes hour finished he entered the churchand prayed. He cried out to God: "O my Jesus, I am naughty and I am verysaddened by all my actions. But not all mistakes come from me. It's only that Iam very easily accused of all the mistakes and chaos. I want to leave all thisto God as my true judge, because in this world not all judgments are true". This experience of Thomas was also the experience ofJesus Christ and Saint Paul in each of their difficult moments. They did notfind justification from this world, so they came to God who has the absolutetruth, to whom they could complain about injustices inflicted on them. Theyjust wanted to see the real truth that should be upheld. The justification ofthis world is really contrary to the Lord's justification, because theinterests and aims of justice in this world are often influenced by world desiresand human temporary gains. In short, if we in this world maintain thejustification from God, we will definitely bear all the sufferings of thisworld. There is also another type of trial experienced by St.Peter, the first apostle of Jesus. Jesus personally brought Peter into a momentof judgment. If Jesus Himself prosecutes the matter, it will come a directknowledge to everybody present who is the right person or the one justified andwho is not. Peter was interrogated about his sincerity, his faith and hiscommitment to follow Christ. He must face that trial to prove his commitment toHis Lord and to make himself ready for the important mission he shouldundertake. Every process of trial in the court must obey itsfundamental condition, namely objectivity. It is the conscience of many peopleand will of the public that shape that objectivity. Whereas the voice of one ortwo persons will be very subjective and they cannot represent the truth desiredby all. Our faith teaches that God's will is acquired through what the HolyChurch says and acts, which are facilitated by her leaders. This is where wefind justification for our growth in faith. For instance, when you receiveabsolution in the Sacrament of Reconciliation given by the Church through aconfessor, that is a form of justification that you deserve. So in essence, Godjustifies us in this world through the sayings and actions of the Church. Let'spray. In the name of the Father ... O Lord of goodness and truth, increase ourcourage and wisdom so that we can face various kinds of difficulty and evilinfluence of this world. Hail Mary, full of grace ... In the name of the Father...

La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
Delivered by Kezia from the Parish of Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral in the Archdiocese of Makassar, Indonesia. Acts of the Apostles 15: 1-6; Rs psalm 122: 1-2.3-4a.4b-5; John 15: 1-8.ABUNDANT FRUITS IN JESUS Our meditation today has the theme: Abundant Fruits inJesus. In this Easter season, besides we have interesting themes on "theBread of Life" and "the Good Shepherd", we have also anothervery interesting theme, which is "the True Vine". The Lord Jesusreveals His identity through various symbols or images, and one of them is thetrue vine. In essence, God Himself always unites with His peopleand grants His precious gifts to every believer. Thus, we as individuals andthe community of God's people too, can pursue our lives on this world accordingto His plan, by using all the gifts we have and make them bear fruits. Thetrue vine is an appropriate symbol to teach us in this point of our reflection.Jesus is the true vine, we are its branches, and the Father in heaven is theowner. The fact that there are always differentunderstandings and attitudes among the people in the Church, it is part of thedynamic of the branches which are often shaken because of wind and rain. Thesedifferences or maybe criticisms and protests from within will not ruin the lifeof this Holy Church because there is the vine, which is the Lord Jesus Christas the only head and leader who protects it. All problems are directed to findtheir solutions in Jesus Christ alone. So instead of bothering ourselves with thedifferences, it is more important to give our attention to the abundance offruits as the outcome of our life in Jesus Christ, from which we strengthen theunity among the believers and enrich one another with the love of the Lord. These fruits certainly sustain our journey of faith. First is the fruit ofholiness and evangelization. We as individuals and the People of God or theChurch professes that holiness is our goal. We want to see ourselves that thisgift of holiness is also reaching out others through our works ofevangelization. Second is the fruit of will and courage to removethose branches that are already dry and useless, to be gathered and burned. This is the fruit of correction, improvement, repentance and renewal ofoneself. Third is the fruit of opportunity for growth and the new life ofpersonal and community achieved after the process of correction or renewal.Fourth is the fruit of happiness and thankfulness for being connected withJesus as the true vine, because apart from Him will be very dangerous for us. Fifth is the fruit of becoming one always with Jesusand we will be abundant. The fruits will never come from other trees, exceptfrom Jesus Christ our true vine. Sixth, we therefore, have a valid reason toalways praise and glorify our God and Father. Seventh is the fruit of ourdignity as sons and daughters of the Father as a very special and precioushonor for us. Eighth is the fruit mission, which is our duties as persons sentby God to go and to produce many fruits. And ninth is the fruit of patience-endurancethat will be the cloth we wear when we encounter difficulties and sufferings. Let'spray. O Lord, make us always able to bear fruits that can benefit us and alsoour neighbors. Our Father who art in heaven... In the name of the Father ...
Don't stop seeking God, even in the waiting! ABOUT THE MESSAGE In Part 4 of Believe, Pastor Mark Stermer reminds us that faith isn't just something we have—it's something we live out over time, choosing to keep seeking God with consistency even when nothing seems to be changing. You are His Home by Pastor Alvin Asiamah
La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
Delivered by Elyanne from the Parish of Saint James in the Diocese of Surabaya, Indonesia. Acts of the Apostles 13: 26-33; Rs psalm 2: 6-7.8-9.10-11; John 14: 1-6.THE SHEPHERD MAKES US COMFORTABLE AND FEEL AT HOME Our meditation today has the theme: The Shepherd MakesUs Comfortable and Feel at Home. When someone feels comfortable, he enjoys aninterpersonal relationship that he engages. When he feels at home, he enjoysand feels at peace with the situation that he is in. He feels at home with thethings or means he is using. For instance, you feel comfortable with friendsnear you, and at the same time you also feel at home with the place and itssituation where you find yourself. The Lord Jesus our good Shepherd comforts and makes usfeel at home in this sense. Jesus makes us comfortable with Him and with ourfellow men and women. Jesus makes us feel at home in His house, which is theChurch, family and group. His teachings and commands sometimes can be sodemanding, but we are happy with them. Today Jesus speaks to us about thisconviction, as He says: "Do not let your hearts be troubled, you havefaith in God, have faith also in me". He simply tells us that as we arewith Him and the Father, we must feel comfortable and at home. But not everyone thinks that they feel comfortable andat home with Jesus Christ. There are people who don't understand Himimmediately when He speaks. There are always different interpretations to Histeachings and wills. For example, the apostle Thomas asked Him, "Show meproof of what You are saying"! Then Jesus said: "I am the way, thetruth and the life". This affirmation of Jesus is enough to give usassurance to be always comfortable with Jesus and feel at home with Histeaching. Jesus gave the power to the servants of the Church tocreate in the Church the spirit of one community of the People of God, wheneveryone may feel comfort in it and at peace with fellow brothers and sisters.Together with Saint Peter on the same level of teaching authority, Saint Paulpreached the same truth about Jesus Christ. Many other apostles and disciplesof Jesus also did the same thing. This truly brought comfort and feeling athome to all listeners, especially the non-Jewish people who were very criticaland skeptical about religion and faith. They therefore, could accept SaintPaul's teachings and eventually chose to become the followers of Christ. Then the question for us would be this: Who is themost responsible to provide comfort and feeling at home? It is not the Lord inthe first place nor leaders of the Church, nor any person with good reputationin faith. Honestly speaking, they always give you kindness and love. So, tofeel comfortable and at home is not their first concern. The one who mustcreate it is every individual, each one us. This parable might be useful to understand what we aresaying. We are not in the position whether to reject or accept our own parents. They are truly God's gift to us. But about feeling comfortable with one's ownfather and mother, that is one's own responsibility. We must create it. To feelat home and comfortable with God and the Church is our own responsibility. Let'spray. In the name of the Father ... O most loving God, we praise you alwaysbecause your glory and greatness rule over our entire lives. Strengthen ourcomfort and feel at home so that we can offer ourselves more sincerely to Youand to our neighbors. Our Father who art in heaven ... In the name of theFather ...

Delivered by Melissa Heidy from the Parish of Christ the King in the Archdiocese of Makassar, Indonesia. Acts of the Apostles 9: 1-20; Rs psalm 117: 1.2; John 6: 52-59.TO BECOME GOD'S CHOSEN INSTRUMENT The theme for our meditation today is: To BecomeGod's Chosen Instrument. When a baby is still in the womb, and later when thechild is born and begins to grow, people naturally have many hopes and dreamsfor the child's future. For example, a couple married for one year may alreadyhave many expectations for their newborn, even if the baby is only two weeksold. That baby brings great joy to the parents. The father may say that his son will grow up to belike him, suited for work in politics or social life. The mother, on the otherhand, may think the child resembles her and is better suited to become aneducator, like herself. But who truly knows what the child will become in thefuture? Often, reality turns out differently from human expectations. We mustaccept that only God knows the future of every person. It is true, then, that while we make plans, God is theone who ultimately determines the outcome. Still, preparation is necessarybecause it is part of God's will. Scripture and the teachings of the Churchremind us to be ready and vigilant. The purpose of preparation is to make usready to be used by God as His instruments for a particular mission. After the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, theChurch received a great mission: to preach the Gospel to the whole world, notonly in Jerusalem and its surroundings. This mission required seriouspreparation. One remarkable example is the conversion of Saul on the road toDamascus. Saul, once known as a persecutor of the early Church, experienced agreat transformation. He became Paul, an apostle chosen by Jesus to preach tothe nations, even though he was not one of the original Twelve Apostles. Saul's conversion was a turning point in his life.Once he became part of Christ's mission, he remained faithful and never turnedback, despite many difficulties. He fully committed himself to the missionentrusted to him. Today, the Lord Jesus teaches that to be His true disciples, like Paul, we must partake in His Body and Blood. Through baptism, we are allcalled to this mission. Letus pray.In the name of the Father…O Lord Jesus, renew us so that we may become Your true followers in our dailylives.Hail Mary, full of grace…In the name of the Father…

Delivered by Lukita Nanda and Svara Nirmala from the Parish of Our Lady of Assumption Mamajang in the Archdiocese of Makassar, Indonesia. Acts of the Apostles 6: 8-15; Rs psalm 119: 23-24.26-27.29-30; John 6: 22-29.THE FIRST WORK OF GOD The theme for our meditation today is: The First Workof God. This sentence does not mean to show the work that God is doing up therein heaven. What is meant by it, is the divine command or the will of God thatwe humans must do in the first place. When thousands of people who had beensatisfied with the food after the miracle of the multiplication of bread andkept looking for Jesus only to fulfill their bodily needs, they were thenreprimanded by Jesus because of their foolishness. According to the Lord, they should come to Him andchoose the first thing from Him, which was His work, and not the food. This isthe divine wisdom that teaches us to do the work in the first place if we wantto earn food for a living. The first work in this sense is to believe in Godand to entrust our entire lives in the hands of the Father who sent JesusChrist into the world to be our Redeemer. Through this filial act to theFather, the first food we obtain is His own Word that already became human likeus, namely Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This first work was already performed by all thosepeople shown in the scriptures. It starts with Jesus Christ Himself whotestified that He came to do the will of the Father who sent Him. The VirginMary and St. Joseph had focused their lives to fulfill the plan of salvation. The apostles who in the beginning seemed at a lost about their following ofJesus, yet they finally proved themselves to be the genuine messengers of theGospel. Abraham is known as the father of the believers. Moses is famous forthe law instituted for the people of God and the prophets had the high qualityof their faith to lead and renew the people's hearts. Our today's profile of faithful and genuine servant ofGod is Stephen, a disciple of the Lord and a witness of Christ's resurrection. He was filled with the grace and power of the Almighty God as a sign of thequality of his faith. He dared to face the challenges of the Jews who opposedhim. Through this work, the first food consumed by Stephen was to drink the cupof suffering just like what Jesus Christ experienced. Following Christ is our basic vocation, which must befulfilled with the first work of faith and filial devotion to God. The reasonfor our baptism and inclusion in the Church is faith, and not things, goods, position, world enjoyment or good name. It is only after baptism that othersacraments received or performed. Prayers, devotion and various services in theChurch are strongly supported by this foundation of faith. The virtue of faithand obedience are the first criteria for the official process of making abeliever saint by the Holy Church. So our first work from God is of thespiritual, and not the physical one. You will be happy or not as the followerof Christ, the measure that can qualify you is your faith in God, lived out orpracticed daily with good will. Let'spray. In the name of the Father ... O Jesus Christ, our good and wise Teacher.Teach us and show us how to be perfect through the faith and devotion that wepractice everyday. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit... In the name of the Father ...

Delivered by Enge Kristina from the Parish of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga in the Diocese of Surabaya, Indonesia. Acts of the Apostles 5: 34-42; Rs psalm 27: 1.4.13-14; John 6: 1-15.BECOME THE INSTRUMENT OF GOD Our meditation today has the theme: Become theInstrument of God. Our Christian life as expected to be in the spirit of Easteris not only a true practice during this Easter season but also during our lifetime on earth. The resurrection of Jesus Christ indeed animates all our life. The period after resurrection is a period when Jesus Christ is not physicallypresent with all His followers, unlike when He was still living and walkingwith His disciples and people of His time. After resurrection, He went up toheaven to be with the heavenly Father. But as He had promised, He is foreverwith us at all times, because His Spirit lives with us in the Church and in thesociety as well. What must we do to ensure that our faith aligned withthe spirit of Easter? The inspiration from our readings today can give us theanswer, and it is true to say that we need to become the instruments of God. Theministry of Jesus Christ carried out by the Holy Church as a community of thePeople of God continues to occur to this day, with her main mission is to servethe humanity and the world. Who are those human beings to be ministered by theChurch? It maybe each one of us, our brothers or sisters and friends. It maybepeople we don't know who they are or where they are from. It maybe persons Godhas entrusted to us to be educated and cared for. Becoming the instrument God for us is a basicChristian vocation, as the Psalmist says: Here I am Lord, to do Your will (Ps.40). The goal of this vocation is to make the Lord truly present in a real anda personal way through the ministry of Jesus Christ Himself, who saves, heals, teaches, speaks of truth, comforts, and forgives. This vocation is given toevery one of us who chooses the way of life as priest, religious and lay person. To carry out well this vocation means each of us acts in the name of the LordJesus Christ and makes His works realized. We are given an example of the apostles who bravelydefended the truth of the Gospel preached, even though they were tried andimprisoned by the Jewish Religious Court. A famous Jewish priest, Gamaliel, also spoke in the name of truth and at the same time defended what the apostlesfearlessly did. Both the apostles and Gamaliel had proved to be the realinstruments of God in preaching and teaching the true faith. Then anotheroccasion also shows us the practice of this truth. The apostles became the instrumentsfor the feeding of thousands of people who were hungry after a full dayfollowing and listening to Jesus away from the city. A child who provided asmall portion of bread and fish also proved to be the instrument of God for themiracle of multiplication of bread and fish. They were the instruments of God'smercy for the urgent needs of people at that moment. We can be the instruments of God in any givencondition in our lives today, especially the conditions that really needsurgent solution or treatment. It all depends on our willingness and commitmentto do. Let'spray. In the name of the Father ... O generous and merciful Lord, strengthen usin every step and work that we take, so that we can be your true and usefulinstruments, especially for the benefit of our needy brothers and sisters. HailMary, full of grace ... In the name of the Father ...

God's love isn't just something He shows—it's who He is, and it changes everything. ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn part 7 of The Way To Live, Pastor Sam Muyaka teaches us that we often say “God is love,” but many of our struggles come not from doubting His love—rather from misunderstanding it. Scripture doesn't say God loves like humans love; it declares that God is love. His love is holy, corrective, merciful, and fully revealed in Jesus Christ. In this message, we discover that God's love is not passive or permissive. It refuses corruption, brings what's hidden into the light, and lovingly corrects so healing can begin. His Fullness, His Body - The Church by Pastor Alvin Asiamah
What if the life you've been praying for is grown through faithfulness, not shortcuts? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn part 4 of The Way To Live, Pastor Mark Stermer teaches us that just like a garden, our lives require intentional care or weeds will take over. God promises to fulfill the desires of our hearts when we trust Him, do good, and remain faithful where He has planted us. This message explores what it means to cultivate a life that honors God instead of chasing shortcuts. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He shapes our desires and brings real fruit. As headlines stir anxiety about the possibility of global conflict, Fr. Matthew Tomeny,MIC, turns our attention to a war already raging — one that has claimed more innocentlives than any battlefield in history. While nations prepare for external enemies, theChurch is called to confront a deeper crisis: the systematic destruction ofhuman life in the womb.Scripture teaches that peace is never merely political. It is moral and spiritual, what St.Augustine called the “tranquility of order.” When life is no longer received as a gift, society drifts into darkness. Jesus warns us plainly that without Him, humanity remainslost, but with Him we find “the way, the truth, and the life” (Jn 14:6; NABRE). TheCatechism affirms that human life must be respected and protected absolutely from themoment of conception (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2270). This is not optionalteaching; it is foundational.Father Matthew explains that even where legal victories have been achieved, thedeeper battle continues in hearts and in culture. Laws alone cannot restore what hasbeen lost. A culture of life requires conversion, sacrifice, and reparation. Saint Faustinaunderstood this when she offered suffering for grave sins against life, appealing to theDivine Mercy to hold back judgment and bring repentance. Her Diary reveals that nosin, however grave, is greater than God's mercy when hearts turn back to Him (Diary ofSaint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 699).The call of the faithful is to pray, especially on days set aside by the bishops, for theprotection of unborn children. True peace will not come through fear or force, butthrough surrender — through trust in the mercy of God and a renewed commitment tochastity, responsibility, and reverence for life.Christ desires life, not death. When the Church proclaims this truth without compromise, she becomes a sign of hope in a world searching for peace. To deepen your understanding of Divine Mercy and reparation for sin, explore the Diaryof St. Faustina available at ShopMercy.org. ★ Support this podcast ★
Following Jesus is more than believing—it's living! ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn part 1 of The Way To Live, Pastor Mark Stermer helps us discover that faith was never meant to be passive, but visible through lives devoted to doing good. Saved by grace and created for good works, we are called to serve, love, and respond to the needs around us in a way that points people to God. When faith moves into action, people don't just hear about God—they see Him. When faith moves into action, light shines, lives are changed, and the world sees real Christianity. Are we simply called Christians by name, or are we truly living as followers of the Way? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn part 1 of The Way To Live, Pastor Mark Stermer teaches about the earliest identity of believers—those who followed “the Way.” Long before the name Christian caught on, the church was known by how it lived, spoke, and walked in the path of Jesus, who declared Himself to be the way, the truth, and the life. This message calls us back to that unchanged calling, focusing on the power of the tongue—how our words can bring life or death, blessings or curses. Scripture reminds us that if we desire life, love, and good days, we must learn to watch our mouths, speak with humility and compassion, and build others up rather than tear them down. As we begin 2026, this is an invitation not just to carry the name Christian, but to truly live as followers of the Way! What if the reason you're still standing today isn't because you were strong enough—but because thus far, the Lord has helped you? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn this message, Pastor Sam Muyaka teaches us that Ebenezer means “stone of help,” a declaration that thus far the Lord has helped us. In 1 Samuel 7, Israel repents, turns back to God, and discovers that even after seasons of fear, failure, and distance, God was still fighting for them. This message invites us to pause and remember: we didn't achieve success by accident—God carried us by His grace, stayed faithful even when we were not, and kept His promises when we were unsure. As we mark what God has already done, we also lift our eyes forward, because “thus far” means God isn't finished yet. What if the joy you've been searching for isn't found in circumstances—but in discovering the purpose God had for you before you were even born? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 3 of the Joy series, Pastor Mark Stermer reminds us that Joy often comes through pain, purpose, and promise. Just as the anguish of childbirth gives way to overwhelming joy, God brought great joy to all people through the birth of Jesus Christ. This message traces the joy announced by angels, fulfilled in Christ, and mirrored in our own lives as we discover that every person is born with divine purpose. Before you were formed, God knew you; before you lived a day, He designed you for His glory. In a world that pressures us to be someone else, we're reminded to be who God uniquely created us to be—living for Him, not ourselves. Come be refreshed by the joy that comes from knowing you were born on purpose, for a purpose! What does it look like to be truly satisfied in God's presence? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 1 of the Joy series, Pastor Mark Stermer reminds us that life is like a buffet—full of options, but needing wisdom to know what to partake in and when to stop. God is not opposed to joy; He invites us to enjoy what is good without excess and without letting temporary pleasures take His place. God gives us good gifts—meaningful work, provision, generosity, the family of God, righteous loves and hates, and ultimately His presence—not to distract us from Him, but to lead us to deeper satisfaction in Him. Come and be reminded that true joy is found at the Lord's table, where we are filled, grateful, and fully satisfied in His presence. When life hurts beneath the surface, Jesus offers a joy that goes deeper than any circumstance. ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 1 of the Joy series, Pastor Mark Stermer teaches us that many people smile on the outside while hiding deep ache on the inside. Proverbs 14:13 tells us that even in laughter the heart can hurt, and in a world full of highlight reels and lonely hearts, we desperately need a joy that goes deeper than our faces. This week, we're discovering where real, lasting joy comes from—joy rooted in God's presence, strengthened in biblical community, shaped by a heavenly perspective, grounded in true contentment, and anchored in the hope we have in Jesus. No matter what you're facing, joy is possible, joy is available, and joy is found in Him. It's Bible Month!!! ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 4 of The Bible series, Pastor Cindy and Sarai remind us that discipling the next generation isn't optional—it's the Great Commission. Research shows a child's worldview is largely formed by age thirteen, and Scripture makes it clear that children matter deeply to God. We'll unpack the urgency of raising spiritual champions, the alarming reality of today's statistics, and the practical ways every believer—parent or not—can invest in the faith of the children God has placed within their influence. From cultivating strong relationships and consistent spiritual habits, to guiding friendships, media, routines, and character, today is a call to intentionality, legacy, and renewal. The Church is one generation from extinction, so now is the time to stand, pray, and commit to passing on a living faith that lasts. It's Bible Month!!! ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 3 of The Bible series, Pastor Mark Stermer asks a crucial question: Who says? In a world full of voices telling us what's right, what's wrong, and how we should live, we go back to Scripture to see what God says about truth, consequences, and the way we're called to live. From the serpent's lie in the garden to the clear call in James to be doers of the Word, we see that God's justice and mercy work together to lead us into freedom, blessing, and real transformation. ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 2 of The Bible series, Pastor Mark Stermer teaches that just as our bodies need food to live, our spirit needs the Word of God to thrive. Jesus declared that we “shall not live on bread alone,” reminding us that true life is sustained by every word from God. This message walks us through the essentials of taking in God's Word—being born again, relying on the Holy Spirit, meditating on Scripture, studying the whole counsel of God, and allowing His truth to transform our thinking and actions. When we stop adding worldly philosophies, trust the Lord with all our hearts, and actually do what His Word says, we grow into healthy, whole, 2.0 human beings who flourish and reflect Christ in everyday life. It's Bible Month!!! ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 1 of The Bible series, we take a compelling look at why God's Word is not just a book, but the very source of truth, life, and transformation. Through powerful teaching, we discover that Scripture is both a map and a meeting place—a guide that reveals God's character and a space where the Holy Spirit hovers, speaks, and brings dead things back to life. Whether confronting the lies of culture, wrestling with doubt like Adam and Eve, or learning from Jesus' victory over temptation, we see clearly that real strength comes from knowing God's Word deeply and knowing the Father personally. From Genesis' creative power to Ezekiel's valley of dry bones, we're reminded of this rhythm: when the Word fills us, life begins to rise again. God is still speaking—our job is to listen, ruminate, and respond. As we pour out His love, He pours refreshing back into us.
