Kai Hornung is a landscape and fine art photographer from Hanover. Germany, who won the 2020 International Landscape Photograph of the Year just a few years after getting serious about photography. Kai has a great approach to his photography and as a relative newcomer he's not constrained by established ways of thinking and allows himself to be very free, creatively. We talk about how trip to Ireland opened Kai's eyes to landscape photography how and why he leaves images open for interpretation, looking for new pictures in well known locations, the parallels between music and photography and much much more. Usually I like to change topic from one episode to the next but I thought this followed on so nicely from conversation with Paul Sanders last week so if you enjoyed that you're going to love this. Tym razem pytanie trzecie z serii: 5 PYTAŃ DO... #3. Jaki sprzęt musisz mieć ze sobą? A konkretnie: jeśli miałbyś zabrać tylko jeden aparat, jeden obiektyw to jaki? I jakie obowiązkowe gadżety masz w plecaku na typową sesję/projekt? (pomijając oczywistości typu karta SD i naładowana bateria ;)) Gdybyście mieli zgadywać, to w czyim plecaku znaleźlibyście taki sprzęt?
Nikon has finally entered the serious mirrorless camera market with two new full frame cameras - the Nikon Z6 and Z7. This is actually pretty exciting news for the world of mirrorless photography and Sony now has a serious competitor in this segment. But will the new Nikon cameras stop current FF DSLR shooters from flocking over into the Sony a7 and a9 camp? For an in-depth discussion about the new Nikon Z6 and Z7 and their advantages and disadvantages in comparison to the respective Sony cameras, Marco has invited back mirrorless camera expert Mathieu Gasquet (Mat) co-founder of Mirrorlessons.com. Mat was at the Nikon Z press event in London and shares his hands-on experience with the new cameras. Marco announced that the collaborative street photography book: “Streetfotografie made in Germany” is now shipping. Marco is one of the authors and has written the introduction to this book. The book is currently available only in German and can be ordered at Amazon Germany: https://amzn.to/2om4CTP This episode is sponsored by: Portfoliobox.net - Everything you need to create a professional website. https://bit.ly/2uejoyx and HoneyBook - Win Clients. I had the very exciting surprise of being invited by Apple to a private workshop in New York. We were about a dozen creative professionals that got to spend some quality time app developers and professional photographers to learn how to get the most out of the iPhone when we shoot Fashion Week. I'm going to share what I learned with you guys. Then we talk to The Brotographer, Ross Thomas, who has been doing extensive testing of the most hyped camera of 2018, the Sony A7R III. Specifically he's been testing a lot of the autofocus features and how it performs Canon, Sigma and Tamron lenses. Special Guest: Ross Thomas.

Welcome to RAWtalk 231 LIVE. We are streaming LIVE once again to see if we will continue to do this each week. SONY invited me to an event!!! The put me up for two days, took me to dinner and had me to their launch events for the a7R III along with other press members which is cool. I headed to PPE 2017 for the day and met so many awesome people including a lot of FRO readers.
Today Sony has announced the new Sony A7r III mirrorless camera - the latest in its A7 lineup. The A7rIII looks extremely promising. They seemed to have cleaned up a lot of the little frustrations with the A7rII, increased the performance and added some nice new features for both still and video shooting in 4k. The camera will be available at the end of November. Sony also introduced 2 lenses - the 24-105 f/4.0 OSS FE and a telephoto prime - a 400mm f/2.8 to be released in the summer of 2018. Also announced as I was about to film this video - DxO has purchased Nik Software from Google. This is incredible news as Nik is one of the best post production packages I've used. Google have announced they're abandoning development on Nik so its nice to see someone committed to keeping it up to date.
