     Saul and Jolene have been asked and seen many posts on social media about alternatives to D&D.  Saul decided to stay in the Fantasy Genre and chose a couple of games that are in the same genre but come at Fantasy from a totally different perspective.        This was supposed to be a single episode discussing a couple of what Saul considers very good examples of being Fantasy RPGs but as far removed from D&D as possible in rules and setting.  The first to be discussed is Warhammer Fantasy RPG.   Saul discusses how Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying game is different from the very popular D&D 5th edition.        From the Grim world setting which is very different from most setting in D&D to the very deadly system which pairs very well with the world of Warhammer.  The rules are not only deadly but a bit more crunchy/complicated than D&D 5th edtion.   The system makes the players play in a different style.  Combat is always brutal should be a last resort and often ends with brutal consequences even for the victor.       This was supposed to be a single episode featuring two alternative Fantasy RPGs to D&D.  Unfortunately we only discussed Warhammer so this must be a two episode topic.     As Always Thank You All for Listening.    Web page art by Jim Foster    Episode Art by Michael Shean-Jones.       Music by Janelle Avery, song Hammer it All, off the album My Songs.     Available from Tribeofnoise.com

Warhammer Fantasy RPG mit Michael Mingers von Ulisses Spiele Heute spreche ich mich Michael über das Warhammer Fantasy RPG. Ulisses Spiele bringt die Vierte Version auf Deutsch heraus. Wir haben unter anderem die Kämpfe gesprochen und da wir da etwas durcheinander kamen, hier das Beispiel: Trefferwurf Nahkampf: Um zu attackieren, führst du einen Vergleichenden Nahkampf- Wurf mit dem Gegner aus (sowohl du als auch dein Gegner würfeln auf das jeweilige Kampfgeschick, siehe Seite 126). Wer die meisten EG erzielt gewinnt, wobei du die Differenz der jeweiligen EG bestimmst, um die finalen EG zu bestimmen. Wenn du den Wurf gewinnst, triffst du den Gegner und erhältst +1 Vorteil. Wenn du den vergleichenden Wurf verlierst, erhält dein Gegner +1 Vorteil und deine Handlung ist beendet.Beispiel: Salundra nutzt ihre Handlung, um mit ihrer Klinge nach einem Sturmangriff (+1 Vorteil) zu attackieren, was einen vergleichenden KG-Wurf bedeutet Sie würfelt 30 gegen ihr KG von 59 (49 + 10 (aus dem Vorteil=59) und erhält somit +2 EG. Der Gegner verteidigt sich und würfelt 91 gegen seine KG von 30, also −6 SL! So gewinnt Salundra den vergleichenden Wurf mit +8 EG. Ihr Schwert hat +4 Schaden und sie hat einen Stärke-Bonus von 3, was bedeutet, dass sie 15 Schaden verursacht (8 + 4 + 3 = 15)! Sie kehrt ihren Trefferwurf von 30 um, um die Trefferzone zu bestimmen, und die 03 ist ein Kopftreffer. Ihr Gegner hat dort 0 Rüstungspunkte (RP). Der Schlag richtet 15 Schaden an, -0 für die Rüstung und -3 für den Widerstandsbonus, was einen Verlust von 12 LP bedeutet. Vi har imidlertid taget fat i 2nd edition, som stammer tilbage fra   2005 (og ikke som tidligere skrevet fra 90'erne), hvor det blev udgivet af Green Ronin. Warhammer er dyster fantasy-rollespil i en sen-middelalder verden bygget over Europa, men med sit helt eget islæt, som det også kendes fra figurspillet Warhammer Fantasy Battle og dets talrige afledninger i form af diverse brætspil, computerspil, romaner mm. Vi tager et kig på, hvad det er, som Warhammer FRPG kan, og hvorfor mange er store fans af spillet.
