Tay tells us about growing up in the music scene in Poughkeepsie, how her band WATIC was first discovered and signed to Hopeless Records, reminiscing about her time touring in the Philippines, starting her new project Sainte, upcoming plans for both of her projects, and so much more. Not to mention Jess and Tay have known each other for over 10 years, so there's some great stories in this episode!  

In this episode, we're so excited to be talking about We Are The In Crowd this week and their album Weird Kids! There's a lot to unpack here as we dive into topics like Taylex, grief/loss, and finding yourself after tough times. Tay Jardine and the guys really made a masterpiece, and as their last album, it's bittersweet to have them end with it. On today's episode of Flashback Friday's, I'm highlighting a record that was released in 2014. It's the second full-length from We Are The In Crowd, and the album is called "Weird Kids". We Are the In Crowd is an American rock band from Poughkeepsie, New York, formed in 2009. The band consists of Taylor Jardine, Jordan Eckes, Mike Ferri, Rob Chianelli, and Cameron Hurley. They released their debut EP, Guaranteed To Disagree, on June 8, 2010, and followed it up with their first full-length album, Best Intentions in 2011. Their second full-length album, Weird Kids, was released on February 18, 2014. The band announced a hiatus in February 2016. They have since performed their first shows in 6 years at Slam Dunk Festival 2021. Weird Kids is the second studio album by American rock band We Are the In Crowd. Weird Kids was produced, mixing, and recorded by John Feldmann. Tommy English and Zakk Cervini did additional production and mixing; Joe Gastwirt mastered the album. The latest episode of Inside Music features very special guest Dave Mackinder, vocalist for the Michigan based band Fireworks. Dave and his band have been staples of the alternative music scene for nearly a decade at this point, and later this month they will hit the road once again as they embark on the Glamour Kills tour as support for New Found Glory and We Are The In Crowd. Mackinder also has a new side project, Tea & Water, which just released its debut EP last week. We talk about all this and more, including how he and other musicians make money when not touring or recording.
