With Amy out this week, our colleague Zack Smith fills in to discuss those cases. GianCarlo interviews Professor Josh Blackman to discuss the status of religious-liberty challenges to COVID-19 restrictions, the confusion caused in the lower courts by the Chief's opinion in South Bay United Pentecostal Church, and what the Court is likely to do with the two new religious-liberty challenges now pending. It’s probably no mystery to you that word-of-mouth is one of the most common ways that people grow their business! While there are so many job search platforms and social media groups that are great resources, never underestimate the power of a good old fashioned referral. Think about how referrals have impacted your own life. Have you ever been in need of a service, or an idea, or a product, and had someone who you trust make a recommendation? Or maybe someone close to you has asked you for your help. You wouldn’t recommend something to your family member or your bestie (or maybe even your own client!) unless you KNEW that it was the absolute best and that they were going to love it. This is how you want people to feel about working with you! But is there something that we can do to increase our chances of getting those referrals? The answer is yes! We are diving into this on today’s episode, and joining us is CEO Amy Lockrin, who is going to share her zone of genius with us on all of her referral strategy secrets. With Amy’s company, The Operations House, she and her team offer one-on-one coaching, system implementation, project management, and so much more - from basic to the most intensive processes! And the best part is that she built her six-figure business from the ground up, and almost completely off of referrals alone! If outbound marketing is not your forte, and you want to know the best way to get people talking while you sit back and focus on what's really important to you, then today’s episode is for you! We talk about:Scaling your business utilizing the clients you already haveWhat a referral strategy is and how to implement oneThe first step towards increasing your referrals todayVisit https://www.tashabooth.com/podcast for more info! Amy Bruni has appeared in over 100 episodes of Ghost Hunters and well as stars and executive produces Kindred Spirits. With Amy’s new book, LIFE WITH THE AFTERLIFE: 13 Truths I Learned about Ghosts, she shares the insight she has gleaned into the paranormal, from her earliest supernatural encounters as a child, through her years appearing on television, and the creation of her company Strange Escapes. Amy has astonishing and deeply moving stories to share about her efforts to better understand the dead and invites readers to join her as she investigates and shares lessons learned from some of America’s most famous haunts, including: The famed Perron Family farmhouse, which served as the inspiration for The Conjuring, Salem, Massachusetts and The Salem Witch Trials, The Mount Washington Hotel (New Hampshire), The Queen Mary, a stately ship-turned-hotel in Long Beach, California, The Old St. Johns County Jail & The St. Augustine Lighthouse. Though what sets Amy apart from her colleagues is her unique approach to interacting with the spirits of the dead and those who encounter them. Once you’re able to view and understand that ghosts are people too (because they once were!), rather than something to be afraid of, the perspective of them changes entirely. And this belief system helps answer the questions – why do the spirits remain here? What do they want us to know? And how can we help? With bright humor and fierce compassion for both those who are haunted and those who are haunting, LIFE WITH THE AFTERLIFE is an eye-opening look at what connects us as people, in life and beyond. #TheConjuring #TheQueenMary #LifeWithTheAfterlife Ghost Magnet Podcast Links Facebook: @GhostMagnetTV Instagram: @ghost_magnet_podcast YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/yxk5t53z Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ghost-magnet-with-bridget-marquardt/id1451559688 Libsyn: https://ghostmagnet.libsyn.com NEW - The Ghost Magnet Shop: https://www.cafepress.com/ghostmagnet Bridget Marquardt Bridget Marquardt is best known to television audiences and pop-culture connoisseurs as the sweet and brainy star of E! CALGARY STAR Our newest cover star Jordan Gooden brought to our attention the talent of Amy Hef, through the gorgeous photos of her performing by Jordan aka Experimental Experience. Experimental Experience has been her visual artist for years. These two Calgary stars became friends and have been rising in their status with every shoot and video they have created together. Enjoy their work together throughout this article! Amy Hef - Relentless Premiered April 20, 2020 To play this video, view this post from your live site IMHEREWITHMAG.COM AMY'S INTERVIEW WITH US WAS INFORMATIVE AND GAVE US AN UPDATE ON HOW SHE HAS BEEN DURING COVID-19 TIME, AND WHAT SHE IS DOING TO GIVE BACK. ALSO TALKS ABOUT HER NEW SINGLE WITH PATRICK SAULNIER, WHICH IS AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE. WE LOVED THE VIDEO, IT WAS TRANSFORMATIVE. THE VISUALS WHILE AMY SANG TOOK US THROUGH THE EMOTIONS SHE WAS FEELING. THE LYRICS ARE ABOUT NEVER GIVING UP. WELL DONE AMY AND JORDAN - I'm Here With Mag Splitting her time between Alberta and LA since 2007 and finding successes along the way as an honor student at Musicians Institute (Hollywood, CA) 90.3 AMP Radio’s Rock Star, a Breakout Artist, winning YYC Music Awards 2017 – Female Artist of the year and George Stroumboulopoulos included her in his list of Top 3 Buzz Bands. Life wasn’t always lived this ‘out loud’ for the now singer/songwriter/recording artist. The youngest of five kids growing up in northern Alberta she barely spoke a word before the age of 11. She had four other siblings who did all the talking for her. Her pre-school teacher hilariously thought she was deaf because she never responded to any of her questions – Amy didn’t realize she was supposed to. Being a bit (understatement) on the chubby side as a kid with little or no confidence she stumbled on No Doubt and Gwen Stefani and their video “Just a Girl” – and everything changed in that moment. Amy knew who and what she wanted to be. She took up the drums, which lead to the guitar and songwriting. That’s how Amy found her voice and a way to connect with the world. Shedding the weight and finding her music and her voice meant saying goodbye to all those childhood insecurities. This deep love affair with music coupled with her respect for all those who have gone before and those who continue to build her ever-expanding musical knowledge have brought her to this point. With Amy’s natural talent, compassion and sense of humor, this multifaceted artist brings a truly unique, energized and interesting vibe to everything she does. There is a fun, fresh, bright, kind, insightful perspective in every song and every live show. The days of being the extreme introvert are over. Quotes: “I realized in that moment that speaking up for yourself and really taking a stand for who you are in this world is not always an ultimatum such as that, it’s not always that stark, but I realized that if push comes to shove and I have to choose between making you happy and making me happy, I am going to choose me.” (12:32) “The place to figure out where I need to establish a boundary is usually the thing that you chronically and consistently complain about.” (19:12) “The thing that I want you to understand about why this is so imperative and so incredibly important is that if you are consistently silencing yourself over and over again, you are sending a subconscious message to yourself that everyone else wants, opinions and needs are more important than your own. (26:16) “The first item of business is to do an inventory of what your inner critic is saying and when, when are the triggers?” (37:42) “Our mind, our subconscious mind, knows knowns and unknowns. Knowns are safe even if they are not, and unknowns are not safe, even though they might be totally safe. So that’s the whole homeostasis that I am trying to get back to.” (41:16) Resources Mentioned: The Joy Junkie Website The Joy Junkie Podcast Follow Amy on Instagram Other Resources: Check out the full show notes page Keep up with everything Dr. Mariza Follow Dr. Mariza on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Youtube

It's Time to Sell Podcast: Strategies for 21st Century Selling
Quote/Excerpt: “…I believe that what you see is what you get, or at least it should be. With Amy, you may find out some dirt about Amy – nobody’s perfect. I’m OK putting myself out there, because when I’ve done that, at least on LinkedIn, people come forward. They connect with that. They understand that as much as you want to put this beautiful, dazzling, perfect image out there, none of us are perfect – and that’s OK. That’s OK.” Intro Today my very special guest is Amy Blaschka. Amy is a branding and positioning expert who creates highly engaging content for her clients. She helps companies, as well as career professionals, position themselves for success. She helps her clients transform the way they communicate and connect. In this episode we talked about about personal branding and the value of genuine relationships that lead to referrals. If you want to learn how to grow your business through these channels, listen and enjoy. Take your relationships offline “You’re in sales, we’re all in sales. It’s really about relationships. Even though we all had very strong virtual relationships, there’s nothing like meeting face-to-face. There’s nothing like spending time together in person.” On putting yourself out there That was about the time that LinkedIn came forward and offered the ability to write. At first it was more cathartic. It was, I’m going through this, I don’t know, did anybody even read it? I’m putting it out there – who will even see this? But over time, I realized it was a way to connect with people. That there were folks out there that would read something and it would resonate with them. What do you write about? “I tend to write the way I speak. Very conversational, and I try to pick themes that are personal to me because I think it’s best when you write about something that is meaningful to you. I mean, I can write about anything, but really, it’s going to be more meaningful if it’s something that’s personal. A lot of folks shy away from that, but I believe that what you see is what you get, or at least it should be. With Amy, you may find out some dirt about Amy – nobody’s perfect. I’m OK putting myself out there because when I’ve done that, at least on LinkedIn, people come forward. They connect with that. They understand that as much as you want to put this beautiful, dazzling, perfect image out there, none of us are perfect – and that’s OK. That’s OK.” Amy’s ideal client I would say somebody that has a good idea of who they are and what they want to be, but they’re having trouble articulating that. This weekend is Father's Day so what better time to invite Michael Tiemann, Mojo Dad himself, as a guest host. Amy and Michael are teaming up to write a new parenting and technology blog for CNET.com. Stop by (parent . thesis) for ongoing coverage of new technology and its impact on families. With Amy and Michael both contributing, this is a true parenting blog with both the Venus and Mars points of view represented. Then Amy talks to novelist Lynn Harris, whose new book Death By Chick Lit is Mojo Mom's pick for a fun summer read. In this loving and knowing sendup of the genre, Harris' heroine chick lit author Lola Sommerville is a little miffed that when someone starts killing at the it-girl authors, she hasn't made the list. Lynn is a widely published author whose nonfiction journalism and commentary appear in many places, notably Broadsheet on Salon.com.
