(17 Minutes) My conversation with the sophomore who is slated to be a building block of the ASU offensive line and could be primed for a breakout season

On the latest NFL Players: Second Acts podcast, Eagles legend Brian Westbrook joins Peanut Tillman and Roman Harper for a powerful conversation about his rise from overlooked recruit to All‑Pro, the magic and chaos of the 2004 Eagles, and the purpose driving his second act. Brian opens up about his Villanova days where he proved doubters wrong and became an NCAA record breaker. He shares stories from his early NFL years — getting blindsided by Brian Dawkins, Andy Reid’s famously tough practices, and how Terrell Owens’ arrival helped unlock his confidence as a first‑time starter. Brian also breaks down his business ventures, the Westbrook Empowerment Center, his children’s book, and the legacy he’s building for his family. He reflects on losing his mother, Andy Reid’s impact on his life, and a powerful moment at the funeral of Reid’s son that changed their relationship forever. 0:00 ... Ross hello and welcome .... introduces panel, and dedicates show #258 to "B-Ball Paul" Reed, who was the #58 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. 0:50 ... Lu Dort is traded from OKC to the Atlanta Hawks in a three team deal ... the guys discuss how Dort's grit and persistence will be a great asset to the Hawks' defensive schemes. World B wonders if this is the beginning of a new era in OKC where players are traded for financial reasons. Ross agrees and feels this was a salary dump by the Thunder. 7:25 ... Bruce is really shocked at how soon the Hawks gave up on Zachary Risacher who was the #1 overall pick in 2024, an All Rookie first teamer in 2025, and is only 21 years old. Ross and World B also comment on how Risacher's role was reduced in his second season. 11:52 ... LeBron James' indecision in choosing his next team is now causing Commissioner Adam Silver to level some sharp comments about how King James is holding up a lot of the decisions the league needs to make because they need to know where he will be playing. Bruce feels LeBron is putting his ego ahead of the league and it may come back to haunt him if he pursues his ownership aspirations in the future. World B agrees that it's an ego thing for LeBron and Ross feels he should finish his career in Cleveland. 15:57 ... The Heat officially introduced Giannis Antetokounpo last week and while they will need more outside shooting, there are some veterans out there like DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook who might fit into Miami's "win now" plans in spite of them not being long range shooters. Ross liked that Giannis is changing his number from 34 to 7 and leaving 34 behind in Milwaukee. 21:25 .... Will Jonathan Kuminga ever find a team? The whole situation is bizarre due to his status as an "unrestricted" free agent who still needs to be in a sign and trade deal in order to find a new team since only teams under the cap can sign him without doing a sign and trade. 26:47 ... Yaxel Lendebourg led the Warriors to the Summer League championship and talked serious smack to the Grizzlies, the team the Dubs beat in the championship game. Bruce was so inspired that he game Yaxel a nickname: "Yakkin' Yaxel." Ross pointed out that Yaxel and Draymond Green have been talking trash to each other on Dray's podcast so the rookie is learning from the master. 30:33 ... Speaking of the Warriors, Stephen Curry has become the first active player to have a major exhibit at the Basketball Hall of Fame due to the way he revolutionized the NBA with his shooting skills. World B and Ross feel it is well-deserved. 33:46 ... Bruce promotes the Hoop Hall Hangout session he will be hosting with Spurs legend Bruce Bowen on August 5th at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. 35:00 ... The guys examine the crazy contract Gary Trent Junior signed with the Bucks and how the league is investigating the Bucks for salary cap circumvention. 37:04 .... The Kawhi Leonard trade from the Clippers to the Raptors is on hold due to the NBA investigating the endorsement deal Leonard signed with Aspiration for $28 million last year. Ross feels for the others involved in the trade because their lives and careers are being negatively impacted by the freezing of the transaction. 40:21 ... Bruce shares a story on Keaton Wagler of the Clippers and how he led the team in a bonding experience in Las Vegas where they went to an escape room and his experience in previous escape room visits helped him guide the team to a succesful escape. 41:56 ... Ross wraps the show and says goodbye. TRT 42:08 Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

Thomas Westbrook, creator and host of Holy Koolaid, joins Mormon Stories to share his remarkable journey from growing up in an intensely fundamental Christian environment to becoming one of YouTube's leading voices for skepticism, science, and critical thinking.Raised by missionary parents and immersed in evangelical culture from childhood, Thomas recounts life overseas, homeschooling, Youth With A Mission (YWAM), purity culture, sexual shame, biblical literalism, and the constant pressure to evangelize. He explains how years of indoctrination shaped his worldview –and how education, science and asking difficult questions gradually unraveled it.Thomas discusses the pivotal experiences that led him to leave Christianity, including confronting Young Earth Creationism, discovering contradictions he had never been allowed to examine, and realizing that curiosity was viewed as a threat rather than a virtue. He also reflects on the personal cost of deconstruction, including strained family relationships, fear of hell, and learning to rebuild his identity outside of religion. This conversation also explores: growing up as a missionary kid and “third-culture kid”, sleep paralysis and supernatural beliefs, the role of science, evolution, and critical thinking in deconstruction, why Thomas started Holy Koolaid, exposing pseudoscience, misinformation, and religious grifters, Christian nationalism and religion's role in modern politics, building secular community through the Faithless Forum, and what curiosity, uncertainty, and intellectual honest look like after faith.Whether you're questioning your beliefs, interested in religious deconstruction, or simply fascinated by how people change their minds, this episode offers an honest and thoughtful look at one man's journey from certainly to curiosity. Joe Rose and Dave Hyde break down the latest on the LeBron James sweepstakes, debating where the four-time MVP is most likely to land. Dave believes the race has narrowed to Miami and Cleveland, arguing that LeBron's familiarity with both organizations makes them his most logical destinations while dismissing Philadelphia as an unlikely fit. The conversation also shifts to the Heat's contingency plans if they miss out on LeBron, as the guys discuss whether veterans like Klay Thompson, DeMar DeRozan, or Russell Westbrook could be realistic alternatives to bolster Miami's roster.
Hour 1 opens with Joe Rose and the guys reacting to reports that Bam Adebayo struck Tyler Herro after Herro publicly shared direct messages criticizing Bam's performance during their time together with the Heat. They discuss the reported altercation, whether lingering tension from Miami building around Bam instead of Herro played a role, and why personal disputes should stay private. The conversation then shifts to the never-ending LeBron James speculation, as Joe dubs it "The Last Decision" and debates whether LeBron would help the Heat compete for a championship or become a distraction. The guys also react to the MLB Draft and the local talent selected in the first round, discuss the latest Heat offseason rumors involving DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook, and wrap up by breaking down ESPN's annual NFL quarterback rankings, debating Josh Allen edging Patrick Mahomes for the top spot and which quarterbacks were left off the list.
Four years.$273 million.A player option.A full trade kicker. And a Cleveland Cavaliers team that can no longer hide behind “we're still learning.”In this episode of Beyond The Game: Pick A Side Sports, Q breaks down what Donovan Mitchell's massive extension really means for Cleveland. Because the question is not whether Mitchell is good enough to get paid. He is.The real question is whether the Cavs are good enough around him to win big. After 52 wins, an Eastern Conference Finals run, and a sweep at the hands of the Knicks, Cleveland is officially out of “almost” season. If you pay like a contender, you have to build like one.But the East is not waiting around.Giannis is in Miami.Jaylen Brown is in Philly. The Knicks are sitting on the throne.Boston is retooling.Toronto is trying to bring back that old feeling. And Cleveland just locked in its star while the rest of the conference started loading up.Q gets into the real Eastern Conference question: did Cleveland lock in a championship window, or did the Cavs just pay top-tier money for a team that may still be one tier short? Then it is time for the NFL check-in.Shedeur Sanders is trying to close the gap in the Browns' quarterback battle, but the name cannot be louder than the numbers. Q looks at the receipts from Shedeur's rookie season, the training camp buzz, and whether Cleveland should give him a real shot — or make him earn every bit of it.Plus, Travis Hunter is one of the NFL's most unique talents, but should Jacksonville use him heavily both ways or protect the investment and make cornerback the priority? And later, Q brings out Start, Bench, Cut with one of the nastiest debates yet:Most entertaining prime:Allen Iverson.Derrick Rose.Russell Westbrook. Not the best career. Not the greatest legacy. Most must-see TV.This is not lazy hot takes. This is not fake outrage. This is sports talk with receipts, humor, context, and a clear point of view.Around here, we do not sit on the fence.Pick a side.

Jaylen Brown's blockbuster trade kicks off another episode of Good Take, as Wes Goldberg is joined by special guest Dave DuFour of The Athletic NBA Show. The guys open by discussing what the Celtics' decision says about today's NBA, why Brown's trade market wasn't nearly as robust as many expected, and whether we've entered what Ethan Strauss has called the "Negotiation Era" of team building. Then it's time for the takes. Dave argues that the Eastern Conference is suddenly deeper than the West after a chaotic offseason, while Wes makes the case that the Lakers' 2021 Russell Westbrook blockbuster is the most catastrophic trade in NBA history because of everything it ultimately cost the franchise. Plus, we break down the eight MLB contenders that should be pushing all their chips in for Tarik Skubal, and examine which teams make the most sense as trade partners. We also go through every major National League and American League contender with a Why They Win, Why They Lose outlook heading into the stretch run, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses that could define October. Finally, we shift to the NFL and rank our top 10 offenses and top 10 defenses entering the season, including some surprise risers and a few powerhouse teams that could dominate on both sides of the ball. From Brunson's place among NBA stars to MLB playoff races and NFL rankings, this episode covers it all. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Duke Associate Head Coach Chris Carrawell, where he discussed his coaching philosophy, offensive and defensive systems, and player development approaches at Duke University. Carrawell explained how Duke's offense is built around creating spacing and advantages through a 5-out system similar to NBA concepts, with coaches breaking down plays into smaller groups to teach players to read and react in game situations. He detailed how player development has evolved from traditional one-on-one training to more system-specific development focusing on players' roles within Duke's offensive and defensive schemes. Carrawell also shared insights about teaching defensive concepts like switching and steering, using specific player labels (like "Steph," "Westbrook," and "Clay") to help coaches understand different offensive threats. The conversation covered how Duke manages roster turnover with returning players helping new recruits learn the system, and Carrawell's experience preparing for potential head coaching opportunities through interview processes.
