Castella hit the music scene in April 2020 with the release of her original tune No Ordinary Love. Hailing from Long Beach, California, Castella has sang her entire life. Castella's family and friends know her as Cathy Rebecca Crowell-Thompson - wife, mother of 3 and Human Resources (HR) Executive. In the latter part of her career in HR, she was inspired to tap into the creative side of her brain by mentor and writing partner, Darryl Swann. Castella released her first EP -Thinking About You, produced by Corey Stampley, in late 2019. She released her first single from that EP "No Ordinary Love"in April 2020. This tune reached #24 on the Smooth Jazz Charts and garnered her a"Breakout Artist of 2020"Nomination by Smooth Jazz Network, an original iHeartRadio station. She then decided to make another record and release it on her birthday as a gift to herself. During the pandemic, she met producer Jeff Canady. Along with Jeff, they pushed out two amazing records,"Let Me Love You" and "Sleigh Ride"!  "Let Me Love You" reached #33 on the smooth jazz charts and rose to #5 on the Urban charts and rose to #1 on the Black Planet Radio chart in Italy. Sleigh Riderose to #6 on the smooth jazz Holiday Chart. Castella's work on "Let Me Love You" garnered her nominations for the"President's Award","New Comer of the Year"and"Best Female Artist of 2020"as well as being named "Artist of the Year" by the Central Standard Time Show on stlsmoothjazz.com. and she has the hardware to show it! Ever true to her work and trusting her heart, Castella decided to reach back into her pocket and release her tune Mojito from her debut EP. A very special record to Castella and her team where her mentor, multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning producer Darryl Swann contributed with writing on the tune as well as mixing and mastering the tune, in fact all of her tunes. Mojito did well on the charts, rising to #2 on the Urban Influencer R&B/Soul Chart and #49 on the Smooth Jazz Network Top 100 Chart!! Castella continues to work on more music to share with her fans.  Castella released her chart topping tune “So Glad I Met You” featuring trumpeter and friend, Willie Bradley.  This song did well on both Smooth Jazz Charts as well as hitting #2 on the UK Soul Charts and #1 in Canada with TeeRex Radio!  Castella had the wonderful opportunity to work with French producer Tom Glide to produce a remix of “So Glad I Met You” which topped the UK Soul Breakers Chart at #1 as well as making several charts in the UK and Canada Top 10!Castella Released her second EP "Let Me Love You"  the EP on January 7, 2022.  On the same day she released her single “So Into You” a remake of the 70's classic by the Atlanta Rhythm Section with an exciting radio campaign spear headed by Gorov Music Marketing in the US and Gary Van den Bussche in the UK.  “So Into You” has already made a big splash by hitting #1 on the UK Soul Breakers Chart on January 3, 2022.  Castella's new EP includes three previously released original tunes (Let Me Love You, So Glad I Met You and the Central Standard Time Show Groove) and two of Castella's favorite tunes that she chose to remake, “So Into You” and “My Funny ValenListen and subscribe to the BAAS Entertainment Podcast on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Podchaser, Pocket Casts and TuneIn. “Hey, Alexa. It's not just the Alessandro Trincone designed dress Young Thug wears, it's his view that matters. In a Calvin Klein's Fall 2016 campaign Young Thug said, “In my world, you can be a gangsta with a dress or you can be a gangsta with baggy pants. This is evidenced by the rise of openly Queer artist like Lil Nas X and TikTok rapper Dellie Boe. Their prominence in a genre that has often shunned openly queer voices reveals the push and pull of progress within hip hop, a music industry that has always depended on Black creativity. It also shows the push and pull of culture as generational and demographic shifts occur. More and more people are openly identifying as LGBTQ+ globally. According to Gallup, 7.1 percent of the country is now openly queer. Data suggest that nearly 15.9 % of Generation Z, already noted for its immense racial diversity, also identifies as LGBTQ+, making it the most openly queer generation yet. But, there's always an attempt to roll back what's been pushed forward As we see a record number of people openly identifying as queer, state legislatures across the country have filed nearly 240 anti-LGBTQIA+ laws in the first three months of 2022. Most of these laws target trans and nonconforming people, who are often the most vulnerable to discrimination and hate, especially Black and Brown trans youth. Proponents of these bills say they're about "protecting children, parental rights, religious freedom or a combination of these." However, opponents contend that it is discriminatory and about scoring political points with conservative voters rather than protecting constituents. We often define life by the things we have. Boxcar Junkies lead vocalist and principle songwriter Brandon Reid Allen defines his by the things he’s survived. He was born in Indiana but his nomadic ways often led him astray. With extreme hearing loss as a child and subject to a tougher start than most, Allen wasn’t exactly someone you’d expect to catapult to a career as a singer-songwriter. But one thing his parents gave him before leaving this world was his first start in music through their family band. Allen started playing drums and bass until receiving his first acoustic guitar at age 12. That’s when the writing started. That’s when he first found his voice. Allen launched a successful career as a singer-songwriter. He won Best Rock Vocalist at the Los Angeles Music Awards as well as Songwriter of the Year. Not long after, he added Breakout Artist of the Year at the American Christian Music Awards, as well as Song of the Year at the Paramount Music Awards. He signed a label deal with distribution and publishing through EMI, creating quite a buzz as an independent musician. Allen soon would catch the ear of famed rock drummer Troy Luccketta of the multi-platinum selling band Tesla. “Troy has been instrumental in my career. He opened a lot of doors. He believed in me and gave me opportunities recording great music and sharing the stage with legends. The Eagles, Alice Cooper, Aaron Lewis. The list goes on.” Things looked promising on multiple fronts, but personal tragedy would come calling. “I made some stupid choices that led to my exodus. Drifting from town to town. Living on the streets, in the mountains, even the desert. Lost myself for sure. It wasn’t the first time. Hell, I ran away with the carnival when I was just a kid. I’ve surely lived a hundred lifetimes.” He’d lose a lot of things along the way before truly finding himself. One thing after another unraveled until he found himself living on the streets. “It’s not that I got addicted to drugs and booze and then lost everything. It was actually the exact opposite. I’m no stranger to life and its struggles, but the harder I would fight off the attack, the stronger it became. It was too much this time. I had lost. I finally said ‘I’m dead already, just waiting for my body to catch up.’” He scraped by busking and sleeping on rooftops in cities like Vegas, Phoenix, and San Diego. Eventually he found himself. Cleaned up and clawed out. Dedicating his life and his art to being someone who tells the stories of the forgotten people he’d met along the way. He traveled, playing gigs and being free. New York to Florida to Texas (where he cut the EP for his new Americana/Alt-Country project Boxcar Junkies), and finally back to Nashville. Drawing from influences like Mellencamp, Springsteen, Tom Petty, Rob Thomas, and Wilco, Allen’s Boxcar Junkies put their own spin on a style of music deeply embedded in the American experience. A punchy rhythm section forms the backdrop for deep textured guitars, rootsy Hammond organ, all set against organic overlays of steel guitar and harmonica. The record was produced and performed on by producer Derek Hames and engineer John Shelton of Houston’s Edgewater Music Group. Isaias Gil (Black Flag, Macy Gray, David Lee Roth, Jaci Velasquez) played drums alongside bassist Mark Riddell (Mike Stinson, Charlie and The Regrets, Leon III, Grand Old Grizzly). International guitar legend Gary Hoey guested on the record, while Texas steel extraordinaire Will Van Horn (Lyle Lovett, Robert Ellis) and Houston harmonica great Sonny Boy Terry added their unique flavors as well. Hames provided Hammond, mandolin, guitars, percussion, and background vocals while Shelton played most of the leads. Sony Music Entertainment’s group – The Orchard has picked up the band for distribution of the EP, titled “EST. 1973.” Ultimately, though, the record is focused in on the incisive, plaintive songwriting and smoky baritone vocals Allen himself provides the project. The tapestries of the backing tracks are pleasing, but the music itself is what drives the ship. “I’m trying to make right with my past and help some people along the way that have been pinned down by their circumstances. My hope is that I become invisible and that people focus on the message.” Shining a light into dark places. Music is the medium. Hope is the message.

THE VISUALS WHILE AMY SANG TOOK US THROUGH THE EMOTIONS SHE WAS FEELING. THE LYRICS ARE ABOUT NEVER GIVING UP. WELL DONE AMY AND JORDAN - I'm Here With Mag Splitting her time between Alberta and LA since 2007 and finding successes along the way as an honor student at Musicians Institute (Hollywood, CA) 90.3 AMP Radio’s Rock Star, a Breakout Artist, winning YYC Music Awards 2017 – Female Artist of the year and George Stroumboulopoulos included her in his list of Top 3 Buzz Bands. Life wasn’t always lived this ‘out loud’ for the now singer/songwriter/recording artist. The youngest of five kids growing up in northern Alberta she barely spoke a word before the age of 11. She had four other siblings who did all the talking for her. Her pre-school teacher hilariously thought she was deaf because she never responded to any of her questions – Amy didn’t realize she was supposed to. Being a bit (understatement) on the chubby side as a kid with little or no confidence she stumbled on No Doubt and Gwen Stefani and their video “Just a Girl” – and everything changed in that moment. Amy knew who and what she wanted to be. She took up the drums, which lead to the guitar and songwriting. That’s how Amy found her voice and a way to connect with the world. Shedding the weight and finding her music and her voice meant saying goodbye to all those childhood insecurities. This deep love affair with music coupled with her respect for all those who have gone before and those who continue to build her ever-expanding musical knowledge have brought her to this point. With Amy’s natural talent, compassion and sense of humor, this multifaceted artist brings a truly unique, energized and interesting vibe to everything she does. There is a fun, fresh, bright, kind, insightful perspective in every song and every live show. The days of being the extreme introvert are over. Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin is a seventh generation descendant of shipping and railroad tycoon, Cornelius Vanderbilt. But rather than take the easy road, she chose her own path as both a musician and entrepreneur. Consuelo has enjoyed a fantastic career as a recording artist where her first four singles alone hit the Top 20 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Her debut single “Naked” spent 16 weeks on the charts, while your follow-up “Feel So Alive” earned you Billboard’s #2 Breakout Artist honor. Despite enjoying chart success on both sides of the Atlantic, she also experienced more than a few pain points within the creative industry. Consuelo's entrepreneurial instincts kicked in as she set out to create solutions to frustrations faced by artists on a regular basis. Ironically, despite mapping out her future on her terms, Consuelo is continuing her family’s legacy of connecting people. Just as Cornelius Vanderbilt bridged the country together for business and trade through shipping and railroads, Consuelo is now doing the something very similar with SohoMuse. With my start up, I feel as if I am continuing my family’s legacy of connecting people. - Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin Co-founder and President of SohoMuse. Essentially this new creative platform is a high-tech digital railroad that is bridging artists together around the world from all sectors of the creative industries, all on one platform. SohoMuse is the first-of-its-kind Vertical Social Network for the Creative Industry. Members are part of an exclusive global community where those seeking talent can find the best Creative Professionals anywhere. I speak with Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin to learn more about her story. In this episode, we learn how SohoMuse is aiming to empower and inspire creative professionals to easily connect with one another, for endless growth opportunities in their respective fields.
