    A mechanical engineer by trade, Darren quickly realized that a W-2 job and 401K would not support the current and retirement lifestyle that he wanted. At the convincing by a friend he attended one of the guru seminars, in Knoxville. He started purchasing single family rentals and doing flips 4 months after attending the seminar. In April of 2017 he was laid off from his corporate job of 12 years. Darren went all in to real estate investing by cashing in his 401K and stock options. In November of 2017 he attended the very first Jake and Gino live event in Knoxville. During the first day of the event, he made the decision to focus on multifamily assets and sell all of his single family rentals. But he also still enjoys flipping houses.  Since October of 2018 Darren has become part owner on the GP side in 204 units.  Darren started a Multifamily meetup in Johnson City, TN in March of 2019. With Johnson City being such a great market, he saw a need to bring other multifamily investors together there, to leverage the power of partnerships, the market, and capital.
