This week the class returns to visit our favorite pretend family! In this episode, we cover chapters 38-75 that have been published in the Spy x Family manga. We cover the next few arcs that will potentially make up season 2, receive more backstory on our favorite pretend couple, and watch as friendships begin to blossom among classmates. Kaguya and Shirogane continue their lover's quarrel while they finally begin to not only accept each other but, most importantly, accept themselves. This week the class is visiting the ice age and trying to figure out how to survive in this frozen and barren wasteland that we once called earth. Fire Punch is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It was serialized through Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ website from April 2016 to January 2018. Our story follows Agni, who is a boy who has the blessing of regeneration. After his village succumbs to inextinguishable flames, he is left constantly on fire, leaving him in anguish and vowing to get revenge. Tune in as we discuss Fujimoto's work before chainsaw man, and hear what some of our favorite moments were throughout the series.

Time Travel and various world lines seem to be a common theme on this podcast. This week, we're reviewing a show that was a pretty big hit last year in 2022 due to its level of violence and craziness that surrounded this one lonely little island. Summer Time Rendering is a story about Shinpei Ajiro, a high schooler who visits his hometown, Awajishima island, for the first time in two years following the death of his childhood crush, Ushio Kofune, who drowned by the beach after saving a little girl from getting swept by a violent wave. Jolyne Cujoh has recently been framed for murder and is serving a 15-year sentence at Green Dolphin Street Prison, where she develops a new power, meets her father, a wonderful cast of colorful characters, and tries to prevent a certain priest from attaining heaven. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - 76, 77, 78 - 99, 100%!!!! What a journey! Studio Bones has done an absolutely fantastic job animating this series from beginning to end. From the Psycho Helmet religion, to Dimple's betrayal, to aliens in outer space, Truck-Kun's cousin Car-chan trying to isekai Mob himself, and finally a simple rejection, season 3 was jam-packed with so many crazy plot lines that make this universe and these characters so amazing. Run with the Wind is an anime that aired back in the 2018-2019 seasons and was produced by Production I.G. This story takes place in college, unlike many other sports anime, and is essentially the story of building up a team from nothing to see if we can achieve our new found dream. Tune in this week as we discuss who on the team we like the most, does this anime give us BL vibes, and where do we think the second half of the story will go.

This story of sisters introduces us to a number of different anime personality tropes who just about anyone can take a liking too! Also, this story has a huge mystery on who Futaro marries!!! Carole and Tuesday originally aired on Netflix in 2019 and was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe and animated by Studio Bones. We follow the journey of Carole and Tuesday and their struggle to "make it big!" This week the class is going to the movies! I mean, our living rooms, but you get the idea! We cover the 1984 Japanese short story by author Seiko Tanabe, "Josee, the Tiger, and The Fish". This film was previously released back in 2020 and follows the story of Tsuneo, a college student who is working multiple jobs to achieve his dream of diving into other oceans in search of a certain fish, and Josee, a dreamer, who lives her life stuck in a wheelchair. This romantic comedy-drama film was animated by Studio Bones, who have animated other famous works such as "Mob Psycho, My Hero Academia, and Space Dandy". Tune in as we discuss our thoughts on this rom-com movie, and see if we thought it lives up to the hype of other similar Japanese animated movies that have been released in the past few years.

We follow this beautiful woman with long sleek black hair and a beauty mark below her left eye as she encounters or "maybe" causes a bunch of chaos that begins to surround all individuals who come in contact with her. Through his journey, we see all of the determination and motivation that it takes to become a professional player. Do we think "Ao Ashi" is as good as other sports anime? This week the class continues their journey in Bleach with the introduction to the Hueco Mundo arc. With Orihime captured by Aizen's forces, Ichigo heads to Hueco Mundo to get her back followed by Chad, Ishida, and later Rukia and Renji. Along the way, they're joined by a childlike yet friendly Arrancar, Nel, and her little group as they invade Aizen's stronghold and contend against the Arrancars guarding it. Will we be able to finish Bleach in time before TYBW begins in October? Tune in and hear our thoughts on the beginning of the Hueco Mundo arc and what our main protagonist Avery thinks is going to happen next.
This week the class dips into some good ole "Boys Love" or BL to celebrate Pride Month. Yes, we know this episode will air in July, we fucked up our release schedule, BUT back to the gay. This series was written and illustrated by Natsuki Kizu and aired during the summer of 2019 with a movie to follow in 2020. We mainly follow the story of Mafuyu and his journey to find his voice following the death of his boyfriend Yuki, whose guitar he carries with him every day. We meet the other band members Ritsuka, Haruki, and Akihiko who help Mafuyu on his journey. Kizu creates a world that feels lived in, and her characters seem real. It's a slow burn, yes, but it's also simple in a way that BL, or “Boys' Love,” isn't often depicted. Confessions aren't always explosive or volatile; sometimes, they're quiet realizations and clumsy kisses.
The Arrancar can invade Karakura Town of their own free will? Isshin Kurosaki is a Soul Reaper? Who are the Visored, and why are they similar to Ichigo in having a hollow mask? How powerful is Ulquiorra, Yammy, and Grimmjow, and will Ichigo be able to power up enough in time to save Orihime? Tune in as the class discusses the "Arrancar Invasion Arc" and what our thoughts were on all of these new interesting characters.
