(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Supreme Court takes case of Christian counselor vs. transgenderism The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a Colorado case of a counselor who has been cited for counseling clients under 18 about a Biblically sound position on homosexuality and transgenderism.   Alliance Defending Freedom will argue that the Colorado law violates counselor Kaley Chiles' freedom of speech. Colorado law currently allows counseling conversations that aim to steer young people towards transgenderism, but prohibits conversations that aim to help them to remain content with their God-given gender. Thus far, 26 out of 50 U.S. states have endorsed body-mutilating surgeries for children between the ages of 13 and 17. Thousand citizens and militants killed by Syrian government France 24 reports as many as a thousand citizens and militants have been killed by supporters of the new Syrian government over the last few days. Execution style murders are being conducted in the Alawite State of Northwest Syria, and some of the victims are Christians.   Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa denounced the violence. Al-SHARAA (through a translator): “Anyone who commits violence against civilians will be held accountable. It is our duty to protect our compatriots.” Menacing warships from Russia, China, and Iran Eastern nations are forming closer military and political alliances as warships from Russia, China, and Iran initiated joint exercises on Monday in the Gulf of Oman. This is the fifth such drill since 2019.  Dutch reject one true God, turning to false Muslim god Religious faith is declining in the Netherlands.  A recent survey found only 13% of the Dutch consider themselves Protestant, and only 4% attend Protestant churches. That compares to 6% of the Dutch aligned with the Muslim religion. The study discovered that Protestants are losing adherents by a rate of 3% every decade, while the Muslims are increasing by a rate of 1% every ten years. Swiss Evangelicals drop from 34% to 3% Another survey conducted in Switzerland found only 3% of the population attend an Evangelical church. And the Evangelical population has dropped off to 19.5% of the population, down from 34% in the year 2000. Over the same period of time, the Muslim population increased from 3.6% to 6.0%. The rate of Protestants leaving the Swiss churches has topped 1.6% per year. Catholics are leaving the church at the rate of 1.2% per year. The warning from Romans 11:20 to be humble is appropriate for the Gentile nations: “Because of unbelief [the branches] were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.”  Wyoming Gov. cuts property tax 25% and bans transgender nonsense Wyoming Republican Governor Mark Gordon signed several bills mirroring the Trump agenda over the last week.   He signed a bill cutting property tax by 25%, and another bill banning government programs which favor or disfavor people on the basis of religion, race, or sex. John MacArthur: “I'm on my last lap.” Pastor John MacArthur appeared on video at his Shepherd's Conference last week. The 85-year-old pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California and the voice of the Grace to You radio ministry has undergone three heart surgeries and lung surgery over the last several months. He noted that he's slowly recovering strength after the ordeal. He closed his address with these words. MacARTHUR:  “I realize I'm on the last lap. That takes on a new meaning when you know you're on the short end of the candle. But I am all thanks and praise to God for everything He's allowed me to be a part of and everything He's accomplished by His Word in these years of ministry. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord, Jesus Christ.” MovieGuide affirmed best pro-family movies and actors The 2025 pro-family MovieGuide annual awards were announced last week. The most inspiring movie award went to the Catholic story of “Cabrini.” The film “Reagan” on the life of the U.S. president, received the Faith and Freedom award. The most inspiring performance of an actress went to Candace Cameron Bure, for her role in “A Christmas Less Travelled” on the Great American Family Network. And the most inspiring performance for an actor was awarded to Jesse Hutch for his role in “Christmas Under the Northern Lights.” Bitcoin down, Gold up Bitcoin has lost 22% of its value in the last month. Gold is up 4%, now hovering around $2,900 and change per ounce. The U.S. trade deficit has spiked 100% year-over-year in January, hitting a record $155 billion — which would amount to almost a $2 trillion annual deficit. Exercise helps sleep And finally, it turns out that exercise is helpful for sleeping.  That's the conclusion arrived at by researchers studying a group of 2,170 people ages 60 and older. The translation of the Bible into English transformed England and influenced her colonies around the world.  It was understood to be the secret of England’s greatness, and created a uniquely Bible culture in society.  As would be expected this common reading of the Old and New Testaments resulted in not only a Bible based society, but unsurprisingly a society that was sympathetic to the Jewish cause.

David from the Old Testament was a lot of things to a lot of people. In addition to being the second ruler of Israel and one of the greatest kings in history, he was a legendary poet, harpist, and hymn writer. Evidence of his talent is the fact that 73 of the Bible's 150 Psalms are credited to the pen of David. But when people think of one of Scripture's most pivotal figures, most remember him for his bravery as a teenager, for standing up to a giant with nothing but a sling and five small stones.  This is the David that animation studio Minno and Slingshot Productions are showcasing in their latest video release. Young Davidsteps into David's early life and explores the actual people, places, and kinds of events that  he would have experienced. Talking Out Your Glass podcast kicks off 2024 with our first episode of Season 9! This  fascinating panel discussion on flameworking features four of the technique's most well-known artists: Paul Stankard, Carmen Lozar, Dan Coyle aka coylecondenser and Trina Weintraub. At different points in their careers, these four artists compare and contrast their journeys and experiences working glass behind the torch.  Considered a living master in the art of the paperweight, Paul Stankard's work is represented in more than 75 museums around the world. Over his 52-year artistic journey, he has received two honorary doctorate degrees, an honorary associate's degree, and many awards within the glass community, including the Masters of the Medium Award from Smithsonian's The James Renwick Alliance and the Glass Art Society's Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a Fellow of the American Craft Council and a recipient of the UrbanGlass Award—Innovation in a Glassworking Technique.   Stankard's current exhibition From Flame to Flower: The Art of Paul J. Stankard can be seen at the Morris Museum, Morristown, New Jersey, now through February 4. A documentary film titled Paul J. Stankard: Flower and Flame by award-winning filmmaker Dan Collins, premiers on January 31. On March 16, the film will be shown at Salem County Community College, Carney's Point, New Jersey, at the International Flameworking Conference, presented there by Collins. Born in 1975, Carmen Lozar lives in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, where she maintains a studio and is a member of the art faculty at Illinois Wesleyan University. She has taught at Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Craft, Pittsburgh Glass School, Appalachian Center for Crafts, The Chrysler Museum, and the Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Turkey. She has had residencies at the Corning Museum of Glass and Penland School of Craft. Although she travels abroad to teach and share her love for glass – most recently to Turkey, Italy, and New Zealand – she always returns to her Midwestern roots. Lozar is represented by the Ken Saunders Gallery in Chicago, and her work is included in the permanent collection at Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass, Neenah, Wisconsin. Besides continuing her work at Illinois Wesleyan University, Lozar will be teaching workshops at UrbanGlass, June 4 – 8, 2024, and at Ox Bow School of Craft, Saugatuck, Michigan, August 4 – 10, 2024. Coyle's whimsical, toy-inspired aesthetic in concert with mind-blowing skills on the torch have earned the artist a hefty 116K following on Instagram. The artist recently celebrated 12 years of being a full-time pipe maker. Coyle's work has been displayed in galleries around the world, and has been seen in print and web publications including Vice, Huffington Post, NY Times, and in the books This Is A Pipe and his self-published Munny Project book. Now residing in Western Massachusetts, he works alongside some of the state's top pipe makers. Coyle's 2024 events include: Community Bonfire (Maine), January 27; Michigan Glass Project, June 21 – 23: two-week intensive class at Corning Studios, Corning, New York, June 24 – July 5; Parlay Philly in September TBA; and Bad Boyz Do Basel 3 (Miami), September TBA. Creating playful objects and curious scenes inspired by childhood memories and dreams, Caterina Weintraub uses glass, a fragile and heavy material, to recreate iconic toys or re-imagine personal memories that evoke a sense of sentiment, wonder and discomfort. She utilizes a variety of techniques to create sculptures and installations in her Boston-based studio, Fiamma Glass. From intricate torch work to large-scale kiln castings and hot blown pieces, she chooses the process best suited to realize her vision. In 2024, Weintraub will participate in Habatat's Glass Coast Weekend, Sarasota, Florida, February 1 – 4; Glass52, International Glass Show, Habatat Gallery, Royal Oak, Michigan, May 5 – September 6; and the International Glass Show, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Fort Wayne, Indiana, December 2 – February 18.  Enjoy this panel discussion about how these four artists crafted careers using the techniques and appeal of flameworking and where the process is headed into the next decade and beyond.

The plaintiff says he's been mercilessly harassed in his neighborhood by the defendants, and they've made his life miserable. He's suing for damages to his self-worth and a car he claims they vandalized. The defendants say the plaintiff lives 200 feet away and they once had a fistfight. They're countersuing for unlawful prosecution and harassment.  Then, the plaintiff says she sold two Prada bags to the defendant, who then complained. The plaintiff gave her a refund, but the defendant never returned the goods. She's suing for what she's owed. The defendant says one of the straps was broken, and then eBay told her she didn't need to return the items after getting a refund. She says she's already donated the bags, so she can't send them back.  Plus, the plaintiffs say they bought an elliptical machine from the defendant, who said it was a 2018 model. It turned out to be from 2011, and they want a full refund after being grossly overcharged. The defendant says the plaintiffs tried the machine and everything was fine, and then suddenly they didn't want it. Welcome back to THE Sports Law Podcast! We keep you up to date on everything at the intersection of sports and the law! Dan Lust is joined by our resident DA, Matt Tympanick (@TympanickLaw). Howie Roseman is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, but how he got there is an inspirational story for all those that aspire to work in sports law. (2:03) Roseman was determined to land a job in the NFL, writing over 1000 letters to NFL teams. Until Roseman heard the advice that launched his career, "go to law school." Following his time at Fordham Law school he started with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it ten years' time he took over as General Manager. Sticking with the Eagles, Josh Sills was a rookie offensive lineman for the team and was recently indicted on rape and kidnapping charges. (7:36) Sills has been placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List pending the criminal proceedings. Matt dives into the facts about these charges and the strength of the prosecution, as well as what Sills' future punishment could be. Mandatory under Ohio law, if Sills is convicted he will face jail time. Dan questions the line that is draw for placing players on the exempt list, comparing Watson, Kamara, and Sills. Joe Mixon was charged with aggravating menacing for allegedly pointing a gun at a woman. (15:35) However, the prosecution dropped those charges with the report of continued gathering of evidence and they could potentially refile the charges against Mixon. Matt discusses the possibility that the victim stated she wanted to drop the charges and/or was not being cooperative. Dan questions why the charges were dropped so quickly. Brian Flores has been hired as the Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator. (21:53) Flores still has his class action lawsuit against the NFL and a number of teams for racial discrimination pending. Another member of that lawsuit, Steve Wilks, has also recently been hired as defensive coordinator by the San Francisco 49ers. The NBA owners have approved Mat Ishbia's purchase of the Phoenix Suns. (30:30) The vote was 29-0 in favor of Ishbia, and the sole vote that was not counted was the Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert who abstained from voting. Gilbert and Ishbia have a rivalry that takes place off of the court, where Gilbert is the CEO of Rocket Mortgage and Ishbia is the CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage. This rivalry heated up back in 2020 when United Wholesale Mortgage was running advertisements that took some shots at Rocket Mortgage, and Ishbia has made comments recently about United being superior to Rocket. There is one beneficiary of this rivalry, Michigan State, which is the alma mater of both Gilbert and Ishbia, who have both donated large sums of money to the school in an effort to one-up each other. *** Have a topic you want to write about?
