After a long and grueling 2022-23 Bronco Sports season, Jim and Jordan will be taking some much needed time off. There will be no new episodes in June and July, but the boys will be back with a vengeance the first week of August to get you ready for the Bronco Football season! For the first time in what feels like forever, the guys had A LOT of Bronco related stuff to talk about. It's seem like every time we record a new episode, big news drops right after. In this case, it was the gambling scandal within the Detroit Lions organization. Two players were suspended for a year and immediately cut from the team. WR's Stanley Berryhill and Jameson Williams were both suspended for six games. Jordan also has so more troubling facts about Jameson that have him doubting the future of the young star. What does this all mean for the Lions in the NFL draft tomorrow? With the Bronco Hockey out of contention in the NCAA tournament, it's time for baseball and softball here in Southwest Michigan! The Bronco baseball team played their first home game of this season on Tuesday and the Bronco softball team plays their first home game this Saturday which also happens to be April Fools Day! For a second straight year, the WMU Bronco hockey team has made the NCAA Tournament! The road to Tampa Bay and the Frozen Four begins on Thursday for the Broncos. After locking up the three seed in the Manchester regional, they will be taking on the Boston University Terriers at 2p. You can listen to the broadcast on 106-5 Jack FM and watch the game on ESPN2! The victor will then take on the winner of Denver and Cornell for a spot in the Frozen Four. After a disappointing exit from the NCHC tournament at the hands of Colorado College last weekend, Bronco Hockey is left to wait for selection Sunday to see if they are in the NCAA tournament. After an impressive season finale on the road against Miami, there will be playoff hockey at Lawson Ice Arena this weekend! The Broncos will kickoff their road to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff with a first round match-up against Colorado College. Games 1&2 will be Friday and Saturday and if necessary, the third and final game of the series would be Sunday. Both the men's and women's basketball teams failed to make their conference tournaments and ended their seasons last week. The WMU women's basketball team plays its final home game on Wednesday against CMU and wraps-up the season in Buffalo on Saturday. The men's team wraps-up their season at home this week, senior day will be on Friday night against CMU. The red hot Bronco Hockey team has a massive weekend tilt with Denver at Lawson this weekend. The team is 11-1 in their last 12 games and a sweep this weekend would put them in prime position to win the programs first ever Penrose Cup, which is awarded to the NCHC regular season champion.
