The NFL Draft may be over, but the real action is just getting started. With Ruthie out, Alex Shapiro and Clay Harbor take the reins to break down how the Bears' newest draft picks fit into the 2025 roster. Is Ozzy Trapilo a real threat to Braxton Jones at left tackle? Will Colston Loveland crack the starting lineup right away? And is running back still a need despite Kyle Monangai's hype? The guys dive into the biggest roster competitions, rookie projections, and what free agent moves might still be on the horizon—including names like Nick Chubb, J.K. Dobbins, and even a possible Jamaal Williams reunion. Plus, Clay drops his favorite under-the-radar position battle to watch.

Episode Description: On this episode of the Nonsense Podcast, we kick things off with an AITAH story that's full of baby mama drama—did she cheat, or is her boyfriend just paranoid? Then, it's time for another taste test as we try the new Liquid Death Cola and Root Beer flavors to see if they live up to the hype. FNBob then goes off on a rant about how Deadpool has changed over the years, shifting from an unhinged, wacky antihero in the comics to Ryan Reynolds' more sarcastic, asshole portrayal. But the superhero talk doesn't stop there—because we dive into a heated debate on whether Miles Morales is even Spider-Man anymore with all his new powers. Finally, in honor of Black History Month, we celebrate some of our favorite Black figures, from Anthony Mackie to Jamaal Williams. But as always, we throw a ridiculous twist into the mix that you won't see coming! Episode Highlights:
According to John's vision in Revelation 7:9, heaven will be filled with people who are still recognized by their ethnicity (every nation, tribe, people, and language). So, if we want the church here and now to reflect that, Sunday mornings must stop being the most segregated time of the week. That's the premise of Karl Vaters' conversation with Jamaal Williams and Timothy Paul Jones, the co-authors of In Church as It Is in Heaven: Cultivating a Multiethnic Kingdom Culture, which Karl named as one of his best nonfiction books of the year for 2024.Jamaal and Timothy focus on what we can do to create a more kingdom-minded approach to ethnic diversity, while acknowledging that ethnic diversity is not the point of the church, but a byproduct of the gospel message.Links:In Church as It Is in Heaven: Cultivating a Multiethnic Kingdom Culture Bonus video3 Steps to Move Your Church Toward Multiethnic Generosity, with Jamaal Williams and Timothy Paul JonesOne of the habits (liturgies) that Jamaal Williams and Timothy Paul Jones suggest in their book, In Church as It Is in Heaven: Cultivating a Multiethnic Kingdom Culture, is to help your church move toward multiethnic generosity.Karl Vaters talks with them as they suggest a simple plan to visit a faithful, gospel-driven church outside your own ethnicity or culture once every three months. Embrace this habit as an opportunity to learn from sisters and brothers in other cultures. EstoBro has found a new love for wine...by having a surplus during the 2024 U.S. Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump (1:10). TV has had enough of this parody and would rather have Harrison Ford take the job. As funny as the evening carried on, it wasn't as funny as TV's fantasy football performance (14:45), as the co-host gets his piece in celebrating that football is back. The nerd world took a major loss this week with the passing of legendary actor James Earl Jones (35:45), most known for his voice as Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise. The Gents take the time to honor the legendary voice that defined their generation, and the many generations before them. With the transition to other film news, the long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice debuted in theaters last week (45:35). It made a huge smash at the box office and set the tone for autumn and Spooky SZN. With Halloween looming, the Gents also talk about the inspiration for couples costumes for parties this year. All are included in this vintage episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast. Hour 3 of JJ & Alex Creating the most perfect College Football Playoff bracket Robert Flores genuinely responds to Tua's criticism of him when the Dolphins head coach. Best and worst features Jamaal Williams and Jason Kelce.
Safe to say we all wanted to see more out of the Saints new offense after the first preseason game, and we definitely got more, including a 16 play TD drive that took 8:17 off the clock. We saw Tailback Taysom, lead blocker Taysom, and even Jamaal Williams running for more than 5 yards at a time, but did we see enough? Is more left to be desired? At least we saw some improvement from Penning, or at least didn't curse his name throughout the game.We get into all of our thoughts from Sunday's game, and much more about what needs to improve before week one.
Bobby and Steve recapped the Saints' 16-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in week two of the 2024 preseason. Bobby discussed the rare off night by the Saints' special teams unit. He broke down New Orleans' defensive line, praising Chase Young and Brian Bresee and criticizing Payton Turner and Isaiah Foskey. Bobby highlighted Alontae Taylor's play in the secondary, the team's improved rushing attack, and Derek Carr's bounce-back performance. Bobby and Steve spoke to WWL listeners about the loss. Bobby evaluated Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener's battle for the Saints' backup QB job. The guys listened to postgame press conference audio from Trevor Penning, Derek Carr, Bryan Bresee, and Jamaal Williams. They gave UDFA rookie TE Mason Fairchild the catch of the game. Steve celebrated Bobby's 64th birthday, and Bobby remembered WGNO Sports Director Ed Daniels. Bobby slammed the Saints' offensive struggles on third down. The guys also reviewed the first-team offense's stellar 16-play, 95-yard touchdown drive.

How could it be that one can feel better about the New Orleans Saints following a 16-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday than after the win over the Arizona Cardinals last week? It's easy: Preseason scores don't matter, but the play from the first teamers do. Not only was quarterback Derek Carr much better this week, but so was the offensive line, and more specifically, tackle Trevor Penning. The play calling from offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak might have showed a glimpse into what to expect for the regular season with a heavy dose of Taysom Hill, Jamaal Williams and the run game. Also, the first-team defense was dominating, and tackle Bryan Bresee is the most improved player on the team thus far. Host Jim Derry talks to and with the audience, and we hear clips from Coach Dennis Allen, Carr and Bresee on the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 268) presented by Evangeline Securities. It's also time for “Mondays with Gabe Henderson,” and Jim finishes the show with his “Extra Point,” honoring the life of New Orleans sports media icon Ed Daniels, who passed away Friday.
Bobby and Steve discussed the Saints' 16-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in the team's preseason opener. Bobby praised A. T. Perry's strong production after the second-year WR finished with four receptions for 85 yards. He broke down the Saints' backup QB battle between Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler. Bobby criticized New Orleans' defensive line and highlighted the offense's ball security. The guys spoke to WWL listeners about Dennis Allen, Spencer Rattler, and the team's offensive line. Bobby previewed the Saints' upcoming joint practices with the San Francisco 49ers before their preseason week two matchup. The guys listened to postgame press conference audio from Derek Carr, Willie Gay, and A. T. Perry. They reviewed the game-winning field goal by rookie K Charlie Smyth. Bobby compared Carr to Rattler. The guys answered a question from a WWL listener about Jamaal Williams, Trevor Penning, and Kool-Aid McKinstry.

Without blasting last year's offensive coaching staff, running back Jamaal Williams says there are many reasons to be excited about the new one that is being led by coordinator Klint Kubiak. It's a reason for him to be happy and excited about the 2024 New Orleans Saints, as that's all he really wants … oh, and to be able to go home and spend time with his cats and daughter. Meanwhile, Coach Dennis Allen had good things to say about his offense from this past weekend's worth of training camp practices, although he was a bit concerned with penalties. As for the mounting injuries, Allen said it's critical guys like guard Nick Saldiveri get themselves out of the training room and onto the field. This likely goes double for running back Kendre Miller, who could be losing his job to Jordan Mims. Host Jim Derry goes through all that solo with clips from Williams, Allen and Mims, as well as plenty of comments from viewers. And there's “Mondays with Gabe Henderson” the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 262) presented by Evangeline Securities. Jim finishes the show with his ‘Extra Point' that looks back 57 years to the Saints' first-ever preseason game and first appearance in that beautiful black and gold.
Mike and Bobby hear from Pete Warner and Mike Hoss on how the linebacker room with the addition of Willie Gay might become a serious threat to opposing teams and if Jordan Mims is ready to be a key part of the Saints' running game with Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams?
Katherine Terrell, ESPN Saints reporter, joins Mike and Bobby from California to discuss how the Saints are feeling about the change in scenery for camp, if a kicker battle is on the horizon for the team, the latest on Alvin Kamara's contract dispute with the Saints following a lack of production from Jamaal Williams last year and Kendre Miller's absence off the field during camp, and what would the best version of the Saints offense line look like?
-- Derek Carr makes the Pro Bowl or Chase Young makes the Pro Bowl? -- Saints win 6 games or Saints win 11 games? --Taysom Hill scores 10 TDs or Jamaal Williams scores 5 TDs? --What will 21 personnel do for the Saints this season? -- Is there anyone you'd try to extend this year before they hit free agency? --How concerned should we be about Juwan's absence over the next month or so? The New Orleans Saints have not done right by Alvin Kamara for some years now, but Klint Kubiaks' Wide Zone offense should fix those mistakes. Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller will benefit from the switch as well as the offensive line. Why big-slot wideouts like Cedric Wilson Jr. and Equanimeous St. Brown are so important to the success of the Saints' offense. NFL Draft prospects Tyrone Tracy Jr., Isaac Guerendo and Cody Schrader are good fits at running back if the Saints want to add to the room in the 2024 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints brought in Klint Kubiak to fix their offense. And it has to put Alvin Kamara in position to succeed in the meanwhile. Without that, Derek Carr and the Saints offense will be capped by what the passing game can do. But the wide zone offense absolutely must live by its run game. Elevating talent like Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller should be top priority behind AK.MarShawn Lloyd and Dylan Laube were on top-30 visits for New Orleans. Jameis Winston may have jogged off the field on Sunday eating W's, but his late-game shenanigans have him taking the L's on Monday. Leading Atlanta 41-17 with seconds remaining in the game, New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen called for the kneel-down to run out the clock despite having the ball on the Falcons' 1-yard line. That's when backup QB Jameis Winston decided to go rogue. Instead of taking a knee, Winston handed the ball off to reserve running back Jamaal Williams. Winston said it was a “team decision” to defy the head coach and let Williams score his lone touchdown of the season. Steve Kim joins “Fearless” to debate Winston's actions, and Whitlock reveals how his actions are a by-product of the entitlement mentality of athletes. Bengals QB Jake Browning's girlfriend broke NFL social media with her “onesie,” taking a page from Taylor Swift's game-day playbook. Whitlock and Steve discuss the “Taylor” effect on football broadcasting, plus the pair debate Seattle's victory cigars after the Seahawks fail to make the playoffs and the growing battle between Pat McAfee and ESPN. In your new daily dose of Stephen A. Smith, Whitlock and Steve review his rant about the racist Houston Texans from one year ago that hasn't aged very well following the franchise's AFC South title win with a black rookie coach and quarterback.
