With multiple members of the crew unable to drink beer, the guys decided to try out Liquid Death. They murder their thirst while talking about Midnight Suns, Control, and a small title that's been making waves - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. A brief discussion about the state of Xbox wraps up the night.

With Zack absent this week, Nick and Garritt coerced Daniel to join the show. The trio sample Hive Mind Dark Honey Lager, an interesting four brewery collaboration beer that Garritt picked solely because it has bees on it. Daniel returns to the old west, Nick heads to the future land of the rising sun, and Garritt tours some offices in their recent gaming exploits. There's some discussion about the state of AAA games in 2023, and Garritt can't wait to talk about the Street Fighter 6 demo.

This week the gang tries a fruited mixed culture ale from E9 Brewing in Tacoma. Zack jacks into Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. Nick continues perfecting his RE4: Remake runs, and Garritt finished Death Stranding and started DMC5. A brief mention of Joseph Staten leaving Microsoft is followed by a bad attempt at video game trivia.

This week, we feature a gluten free beer from Ghostfish Brewing: Grapefruit IPA. Zack plays an hour of 20 different games, Nick dives deep into a remake, and Garritt gets lost in the polygonal VR matrix. Remember Multiversus? What's going on with that game? It's a particularly spicy episode of the CoHops podcast week, with friend of the show Daniel supplying a lager brewed with actual peppers: Suck My Grist, from Fringe Brewing in Ferndale, WA. Zack also brought a salty surprise from Canada to Power Dunk our palates, and the whole crew found themselves trying new things in search of their next big game. In news, a hacking at Riot Games draws attention to cybersecurity, what hacking even looks like these days, and the dangers of anti-cheat software having its fingers too deep into your computer's pie. On this episode, we have a very special guest, Ian - maker of Garritt's legendary wooden fight stick! Now the whole trio has their own beautiful wooden controllers! After a joke made literal, Zack's mom chose the featured beer for us, modern classic Black Butte Porter from Deschutes. It's been a few weeks since the last episode, thanks to The Game of Life, but we're back with Episode 56: A Year in Review: Tough Love! Nick is out of town, so this episode is just a duo recording with Garritt and Zack. This week's featured beer is a festive winter ale from Hellbent Brewing in Seattle, All Spruced Up - with real spruce tips! Meanwhile, Garritt brought his own tips and tricks from finishing Elden Ring (and some bonus Pokemon Scarlet and Violet check-in), Nick took his sick time to fall into Persona 5 Royal, and Zack confessed that he's fallen into a new mobile game (Marvel Snap). In the news segment, Nick brought the story of an extra-fleshy failed Kickstarter and we ruminated on what it can teach us about turning creative projects into video games.

It's Episode 54: Fresh Hops and Fresh Formats! After trying some fresh hop IPAs in Portland a few weeks ago, the guys decided to feature a local one: Kulshan's simply named Fresh Hop. Garritt finished his frightening festivities in Resident Evil 7, and Nick dove into cyberspace (and bug space) with Cyberpunk 2077. Zack didn't bring a game, he brought 16 of them! Specifically, a quiz for the other guys about influential games from history.
