    9 Tips For Keeping A Positive Attitude When People Are Complaining

    It's not your job or calling in life to make people happy. And despite your best efforts, it would be impossible to do.   All of us in ministry can take heart from the Apostle Paul's reminder in Galatians 1:10. “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”   The reality of life (and definitely of ministry work) is that people complain. It may not be good or godly, but it is going to happen. Sometimes, people will even complain about you, to you, or about your loved ones. At times, people will be thoughtless in their comments. Other times, they will be downright rude.    In today's episode, we are not going to try to pretend that these moments don't hurt. They usually do. And we are not going to try to brainstorm ways to get people to stop complaining.   But we are not going to let those complaints control how we feel, think, or act.     Common Symptoms Of Anxiety

    “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)   As you build relationships with people in your ministry, you will certainly interact with people who are struggling with anxiety.    But will you recognize them?   Anxiety is one of the most common struggles in our modern culture. In fact, it's so common that many people don't even realize that it is a problem! They don't realize that there is hope. It is possible to experience life without anxiety.    Before you can help someone with their anxiety struggles, you have to realize that is a problem. We have to identify it in order to seek change, pray, and be intentional to move toward healing.    So today on the podcast, you'll find some common signs that someone is struggling with anxiety.     How To Use Philippians 4:8 To Replace Patterns Of Negative Thinking

    One of the most common things that Christian counselors help clients with is getting their thought life more in line with Philippians 4:8.    When someone is stuck in negative thinking, it is not honoring to God and not helpful to their relationships or emotional health. And guess what? Pastors and ministry leaders struggle with their thinking too!   In our last episode, we looking at the 5 R's to turn your thoughts around and stop the negative thinking. Today, we'll dive deeper into one of the hardest steps there: replacing the negative thought with a positive thought. Not a fake thought. Not an unbiblical self-affirmation.     4 Key Steps To Conflict Resolution In A Ministry Context

It's one of the leading causes of death among kids, teens, and middle-aged adults especially.    Today, we'll go through some practical action steps that you can take if you're concerned about someone.     Depression is a big problem in today's world. And for a ministry leader or pastor, it can be scary to think about. It can feel very overwhelming.   But if you truly want to minister well to the people God has put around you… well, you need to be ready to recognize signs of concern and respond to them well.    So today, let's tackle the first part of that.
