Victor Ambros, newly awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of microRNA, is a developmental biologist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. In this episode, we explore improvisational science – the dynamic, collaborative process where researchers build on each other's ideas using a "yes, and…" approach. We discuss the constant need to reframe and refine scientific questions, and the challenge of helping young researchers build the confidence to question established ideas. Victor underscores the power of curiosity-driven research, emphasizing how each scientist's unique perspective can lead to discoveries others might miss. We also examine AI's evolving role in scientific discovery – particularly in synthesizing knowledge across disciplines – and how it can complement the cross-pollination of ideas at scientific conferences. For more information about Night Science, visit https://www.biomedcentral.com/collections/night-science .

Wondering how to get more quality leads from your podcast? The classic lead magnet is just one way to capture interest, but there are other, less conventional ways that can yield high-quality leads. In this episode, I share four powerful strategies that go beyond the usual funnel approach, so you can start generating leads that truly align with your business and convert with ease. Here's a quick look at these lead-gen ideas: Invite Ideal Clients as Guests Bring potential high-ticket clients onto your show as guests—if done right, this can build trust and lead to conversions. I share how one client is winning with this approach and how you can too. Create an Exclusive Community Extend your podcast's reach by creating a fan club or private community. One of my clients uses Skool to bring listeners together for more value, which nurtures leads and strengthens loyalty. Run a Strategic Contest Everyone loves a contest, but it only works if the prize is aligned with your ideal client's interests. A client of ours offers program scholarships, driving engaged leads and growing her list. Use Audience Engagement as Lead Gen Encourage listeners to submit questions, share stories, or attend a virtual meet-up. Not only does this generate content ideas, but it also builds a list of qualified leads. Remember: These lead-gen strategies only work if your show is attracting the right audience. The Journey to Becoming | Self Improvement, Productivity, Lower Stress
How in the world are we almost halfway done with 2024? Time flies when you are on your Journey to Becoming! At the beginning of the year we often set big goals & dreams for the new year ahead and about 3 months in, the momentum begins to die down. We continue to believe that in order to achieve massive results, we need massive action (which isn't true). The negative thoughts then begin to kick in that we maybe haven't done enough, that we failed in areas of life, yet again. We are going to combat that today through the gift of reflection. I believe these 3 ways to reflect on the first half of the year will bring a positive outlook to all that has taken place: the good, the bad and the help me Jesus…because we know that with Him, He makes all things beautiful in His time. The choice is up to us if we want to see it or not. I want to encourage you to make the time to reflect on the past 6 months in a fresh way and renew your vision for the second half of the year!
