You stopped your GLP-1 and now you're wondering can I just restart where I left off? Why am I so hungry again? Why are the side effects back? Did the medication stop working? These are questions I hear all the time in my practice. And the answer is not as simple as picking back up where you stopped. In this episode I am walking you through exactly what happens biologically when you stop a GLP-1, why restarting feels different than when you first started, how to restart safely, the common mistakes I see patients make, and how to get back on track mentally without shame. A pause does not erase your progress. But how you restart matters more than you think. Listen now! Episode Highlights: Why stopping your medication is not failure and why your biology is not your weakness What actually happens to your hunger, cravings, and fullness signals when you go off GLP-1s Why restarting at your old dose can land you in the emergency room How long is too long to be off and what dose to restart at based on your break The 3 most common restart mistakes Practical tips to minimize side effects and rebuild tolerance the right way How to stay mentally on track without shame or comparison to your first journey Connect with Dr. Alicia Shelly: Website | drshellymd.com Facebook | www.facebook.com/drshellymd Instagram | @drshellymd Linked In | www.linkedin.com/in/drshellymd Twitter | @drshellymd About Dr. Alicia Shelly Dr. Alicia Shelly was raised in Atlanta, GA. Abundance isn't a business cliché—it's a spiritual reality most of us underuse. In this episode, Joe Rockey and Father Boniface Hicks unpack an “abundance mindset” through the lens of faith: the human gifts we notice (marriage, family, friendships) and the supernatural riches we often forget (baptismal identity, forgiveness, Mass, the Church as family, communion with the saints). The question isn't whether God gives abundantly. The question is whether we practice receiving those gifts—and build habits that make them real in daily life.Father offers a simple framework for making the abundance of Christ usable: events → habits → knowledge. Events (retreats, pilgrimages, special liturgies, novenas, missions) “strike the match.” Habits keep the flame burning (Mass, adoration, prayer rhythms). Knowledge anchors and integrates what we experience (learning the doctrine behind what we felt). Joe brings it home: don't build a wall between “faith life” and “real life.” When you integrate the gifts of God into relationships, work, and ordinary conversations, you become more fruitful—and that fruit becomes a sign you're moving in the right direction.Key IdeasAbundance starts with gratitude: name what you've already been given instead of living like it's scarce. The faith offers “untapped riches”: baptismal identity, mercy, Eucharist, supernatural family, communion with saints. The integration path: events create ignition, habits sustain, knowledge stabilizes. Many gifts become meaningful only after repetition—sometimes you “do it” before you fully “get it.”Don't separate church-world and life-world; abundance grows when it flows into relationships and service.Links & References (official/source only)None explicitly referenced with clear official/source URLs in this transcript.CTA: If this helped, please leave a review or share this episode with a friend.Questions or thoughts? How to Reclaim Emotional Freedom by Understanding Projection, Ego Triggers, and Internal Validation Most emotional exhaustion doesn't come from what actually happened; it comes from the meaning we attach to it. In this episode, Rachid breaks down why people often internalize comments, criticism, tone shifts, and delayed responses in ways that distort reality and drain emotional energy. Through practical psychology and grounded self-awareness, this conversation explores how projection, ego triggers, and negative assumptions shape our reactions and how to stop carrying emotional weight that was never yours to begin with. Rather than becoming emotionally detached, this episode teaches you how to become more accurate and objective in your interpretations. From workplace interactions to personal relationships, you'll learn how to pause before reacting, separate intent from impact, challenge the stories your mind creates, and strengthen internal validation so that other people's moods and projections stop controlling your emotional state. This episode is a practical guide to emotional resilience, clearer communication, and protecting your peace without becoming defensive or disconnected.

Business gets easier when your emotions stop controlling your decisions.Clients leave. Employees mess up. People talk. Deals fall through. If every problem feels personal, you lose focus fast. The higher you scale, the more emotionally stable you need to become. Not cold. Not emotionless. In today's episode, Ryan and Sam talk about one of those parenting moments that feels huge in the moment and totally ridiculous five minutes later, why kids sometimes bait us into arguments, and how easily we can turn a small thing into a battle for control.
George Wright III shares an idea from Alan Watts about “the great pretending,” where people act as if every decision and outcome is judged on a cosmic scoreboard, creating constant stress and performance anxiety. He argues life is not a test but an experience or game, and that nature operates playfully without strain. The key distinction is between giving up (indifference) and letting go (freedom): you can still pursue goals and build a business without attaching your identity to outcomes. He suggests asking how you'd live today if things didn't matter in the way you think—speaking more honestly, acting sooner, and overthinking less—because releasing pressure improves clarity, creativity, speed, and results. The takeaway is to treat life like a playground, act from intention rather than fear, and reflect on where you're taking life too seriously.00:00 Why You Feel Overwhelmed00:36 The Great Pretending01:31 Life Is Not An Exam02:16 Playful Universe Mindset02:51 Letting Go Not Giving Up03:55 Practical Questions To Ask04:36 Detachment Creates An Edge05:01 The Meaning Paradox05:35 Creator Mindset Takeaway06:59 Weekly Reflection And CloseThanks for listening, and Please Share this Episode with someone. What if the most magnetic version of you is the one who stops trying so hard to be perfect? In a world that feels so heavy, maybe the answer is not to become more polished, more filtered, or more put together. Maybe the answer is to become more playful. More real. More free. This week on Empowering Her, I'm sharing what it looks like to stop taking ourselves so seriously and start letting life surprise us again. From awkwardly attempting hip hop choreography in Manhattan to handing out kindness notes with a friend just because it felt fun and human, this episode is a reminder that joy lives in the imperfect moments.Somewhere along the way, so many of us stopped playing. We stopped dancing if we weren't “good.”We stopped doing quirky things that made us feel alive. We started curating instead of living. But the truth is, nobody is connecting to perfection.People connect to presence. To authenticity. To the woman willing to laugh at herself and take up space anyway. In this episode, I talk about:• Why adults need play just as much as children do• How social media has us taking ourselves way too seriously• The freedom that comes when you stop worrying about doing it “right”• Why imperfection creates deeper connection• Small ways to bring whimsy, joy, and spontaneity back into your everyday life• The powerful shift that happens when you stop caring so much about what other people thinkIf this episode speaks to your heart, share it with someone you love and leave a review for the Empowering Her podcast. It helps us get these conversations into more hearts, ears, and lives........and you if you would like to learn about how you can uplift and empower the next generation, check our this information session i've prepared for you: www.melodypourmoradi.com/info - would love to share more!Let's Stay Connected! As an empowerment coach, author, twin girl mom, and the creator of the GiRLiFE Academy, my mission is to help every woman and girl discover her voice and live a life that lights her up from the inside out.I'd love to connect with you and continue this beautiful journey together!
Ever notice how often someone asks for a brochure when what they really need is something else entirely? That's where this conversation goes, and it's a good one. I sat down with Bill Shander, an information designer and author who calls himself a “stakeholder whisperer.” And trust me, it's not as mystical as it sounds. It's actually a practical, powerful way to rethink how you show up in your marketing conversations. We talked about why storytelling isn't just about your audience. It's also about how you communicate with the people inside your business who shape what gets created in the first place. A few takeaways worth holding onto: Don't jump to the solution too fast When someone asks for a deliverable, a brochure, a campaign, a website, pause. That request is often just the symptom. Your real job is to figure out the problem underneath it. Your most important stakeholder isn't always your boss It's easy to default to the person giving the assignment. But the real priority is usually the end user. The person who will read, click, buy, or ignore what you create. Influence comes from expertise, not opinion “I like this better” won't get you far. But “data shows this performs better” changes the conversation. Bring evidence, not just ideas. Ask one better question You don't have to challenge everything. Start small. One thoughtful question can open the door to a smarter solution and a deeper conversation. Stop being an order taker The people who grow in their roles aren't the ones who say yes to everything. They're the ones who think, question, and guide. The real magic here is simple. When you shift from doing what people ask to understanding what they actually need, everything gets better. Your work, your results, and how people see you. About Bill Bill Shander is an information designer, helping clients turn their data into compelling visual and often interactive experiences. In this episode of The Heavyweight Collective, the conversation starts with a workplace class and quickly turns into a deeper breakdown of what emotional intelligence actually looks like when you're triggered, stressed, or pushed to your limit. This isn't about buzzwords—it's about real-life application. From learning when to pause instead of react, to understanding why people escalate situations, the discussion dives into self-awareness, emotional regulation, and the discipline it takes to respond like yourself instead of your emotions. The conversation also challenges how we think about empathy. It's not just about being nice—it's about understanding someone's perspective without excusing their behavior or sacrificing your own peace. From there, the episode gets into boundaries, communication, and the gray areas that come with both.If you've ever struggled with reacting in the moment, setting clear boundaries, or dealing with emotionally charged situations, this episode gives you the language and perspective to handle it better. Stop taking probiotics (they are making your gut worse) One of the biggest mistakes I see in the wellness space is women taking probiotics, hoping they will heal their gut.. Women with IBS, bloating and constipation are told they need more “good bacteria”..So they double down on probiotics. But so often you’re not lacking bacteria, you have TOO much bacteria! In this episode, I break down exactly why your “gut healing” protocol isn't working, what's actually happening in your gut, and how to fix it properly. In this episode, we cover: The SIBO Reality:Why IBS is not a deficiency problem and how bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine completely changes your strategy. The Probiotic Mistake:What actually happens when you add billions of bacteria into an already overgrown gut, and why this drives bloating, gas and pain. The Brain Fog Link:How excess bacterial fermentation produces D-lactic acid, impacting your brain and leaving you foggy, flat and exhausted. The “Doing Everything Right” Trap:Why clean eating, supplements and probiotics can still make you worse when the root cause hasn’t been identified. Test, Don’t Guess:Why guessing your way through gut protocols doesn’t work, and the exact testing we use to get real answers. The Correct Healing Order:Why we remove and treat first, restore motility, then rebuild — not the other way around. When Probiotics Actually Help:The specific strains and situations where probiotics make sense, and why timing matters more than the supplement itself. #339: All month long on The Business of You series, we've been talking about building, but what happens when you feel the pull to walk away? That's what we're covering in our final installment with Essence Iman, ex-founder, writer, and the voice behind Slutty Founder, one of the most honest and entertaining spaces on the internet for real talk about business.Essence built an award-winning, cult-favorite body care brand from just $200. She gained industry recognition, built a real community around it, and then did something most people couldn't wrap their heads around: she walked away, happily and on purpose. In this conversation, we get into what it really means to trust yourself enough to close a chapter — and why that decision doesn't have to come with a catastrophe attached to it. We talk about the founder mentality and what all of us, business owners or not, can learn from it. Essence breaks down why you should never take yourself off the pedestal, what it means to tell your story like you know how you got there, and why "you know what you're doing" might be the most underrated piece of advice. We also get into the beauty industry — why it's become so crowded, why it continues to be such a difficult place to build, and where Essence thinks the real opportunities are for women ready to build something different. This episode is for you if:You're questioning whether it's time to walk away from something — a job, a business, a chapter. You struggle with imposter syndrome or have a hard time owning your wins out loud. You've been thinking about starting a business but feel locked into the idea that it has to look a certain way.You want to understand what a portfolio career actually looks like in practice. You need someone to remind you that your success is not an accident. You're building something and want the kind of real, unfiltered founder perspective you're not going to find in a business book.Episode Links:Learn more about Essence & Slutty Founder, go to sluttyfounder.comFollow Essence on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/essenceiman/Follow Essence on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@essenceiman?lang=enSubscribe to Slutty Founder on Substack: https://www.sluttyfounder.com/Sponsors:Free People Movement: Visit fpmovement.com to shop their full line of activewear.Rula: Rula makes it easier to find licensed therapists and psychiatrists who are actually in-network with your insurance. What really happens when you stop GLP-1 medications — and are the headlines telling you the whole story? The answer is more nuanced than social media wants you to believe. This week on Fat Science, Dr. Emily Cooper, Mark Wright, and Andrea Taylor break down four recent studies on GLP-1 treatment outcomes, weight regain, and a groundbreaking new drug that could preserve lean mass during treatment. They walk through the methodology behind each paper, explain why two studies asking the same question got opposite answers, and reveal what a new monoclonal antibody called bimagrumab could mean for the future of metabolic treatment.Key TakeawaysWhen you stop treating any chronic metabolic condition, the condition returns — that's not failure, that's biology.Real-world data showed 56% of people who stopped filling GLP-1 prescriptions maintained or continued losing weight — likely because they continued working with their clinician on alternative treatments.A new monoclonal antibody called bimagrumab showed 11% body weight reduction on its own, while simultaneously increasing lean mass by 3% — without affecting appetite. When combined with semaglutide, bimagrumab reduced lean mass loss from 28% to just 11% of total weight lost. Not eating enough while on GLP-1s drives greater lean mass loss — nutrition is still the best tool for preserving muscle.Notable Quote"It wasn't my failure and it was disease underneath everything. This episode kicks off with dramatic global headlines, celebrity chaos, and major reality‑TV shakeups. The team breaks down the deadly confrontation between a Florida‑registered speedboat and the Cuban Coast Guard, a shootout that left four people dead and six injured. Cuban authorities allege the boat’s occupants—armed Cuban nationals living in the U.S.—opened fire first and were attempting a “terrorist infiltration,” prompting an international investigation and heightened political tension. The crew then dives into the explosive report that Cardi B allegedly flipped out backstage at SNL, destroying equipment after overhearing a joke referencing Nicki Minaj’s MAGA affiliation during rehearsals for the show’s 1,000th episode. Though the joke never aired, outlets report she threw her phone, punched a screen, and threatened to walk out before performing. Reality‑TV fans get big news as Pinky Cole and K. Michelle officially join The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 17, with Bravo signaling a major franchise reset. Cole enters with her Slutty Vegan empire storyline, while K. Michelle brings music‑industry pressure, a bold personality, and a shift into country music—all expected to shake up the cast dynamic. The episode then turns reflective as Mo’Nique urges fans to rethink the rising trend of GLP‑1 weight‑loss drugs. In an emotional message, she questions their long‑term effects, warns that celebrity-driven hype can push people toward unhealthy choices, and encourages listeners—especially young ones—to “love yourself enough” to trust the process rather than rely on quick fixes. The fastest way to stall your apartment investing career is listening to the wrong people. There's a difference between learning from operators and taking advice from peers who've never built what you're trying to build. Most investors don't fail because they lack intelligence. They fail because they follow the wrong models. If you're serious about building this the right way, join the Tribe of Titans multifamily investing community: www.thetribeoftitans.comIn this conversation, we unpack what it really looks like to transition from a technical W-2 career into multifamily ownership — without chasing hype markets, without guessing, and without quitting prematurely. This is about deliberate moves, strategic leverage, and building systems that remove friction from scale.Jason didn't start in a high-growth market. He didn't raise institutional capital on day one. He didn't abandon his job recklessly. He built methodically — and engineered his business the same way he engineered products in his former career. What You'll Learn• Why slow personal savings keeps most investors small • The real constraint behind scaling beyond single-family • How to operate in a flat-growth market without getting crushed • Why systems thinking beats hustle when underwriting deals • The decision filter that separates operators from dabblersYou'll also hear how leveraging mentorship, partnership dynamics, and disciplined market selection allowed him to build a portfolio while still working — and transition out on his own terms. This isn't theory. It's what happens when someone applies engineering discipline to multifamily investing — and refuses to take advice from people who haven't built real scale.Inside the Tribe of Titans, these are the types of conversations that continue — real operators, real deals, real execution. If you're ready to move beyond consuming content and start building with accountability and support, that's where the next step is.About the Guest Jason Williams is the Chief Underwriter at Lorren Capital, LLC, where he helps real estate investors strengthen their underwriting processes to reduce risk and improve deal performance. If you feel compelled to soothe, explain, reassure, or fix whenever someone is upset, this episode is for you. In this episode, we unpack why so many people take responsibility for other people's emotions — and why this pattern is often mistaken for empathy. We explore the psychology behind emotional fixing, how early conditioning teaches us that discomfort is dangerous, and why the ego reinforces the need to manage others' feelings. You'll learn the difference between presence and control, why letting people feel their emotions can feel terrifying, and how fixing others actually prevents growth — for them and for you. This episode is about releasing emotional responsibility without guilt and reclaiming your energy, boundaries, and nervous system regulation.

Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1372James Clear doesn't want to give you advice. That might sound strange coming from the guy who wrote Atomic Habits, but here's what he's learned: advice is brittle. What worked for someone else can completely fail you because your context is different. So instead of prescriptions, James offers something more powerful: questions that adapt to whatever season you're in. He talks about falling into this trap where we optimize for what we think we're supposed to be doing, chasing goals that other people encourage while our actual desires get buried. The shift happens when you ask yourself what you're really optimizing for, whether it's money or creative freedom or family time, and then honestly evaluate if your current habits are carrying you toward that future or away from it.The tennis match metaphor he shares cuts through all the noise about control. You don't control what the other player does, but you absolutely influence the game with your own moves. Most of life sits in that space between total control and complete helplessness. James pushes you to ask how you might be contributing to the very situations you say you don't want, which sounds confrontational until you realize it's liberating. It means there are levers you can pull. And when habits stop serving you, it's not about guilt. Sometimes they just outlived their usefulness. These questions keep you honest about whether the daily choices you're making are actually building the life you want or just the life you think you should want.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. What does it mean to live out our calling in a world increasingly shaped by technology, efficiency, and automation? In this episode, Dr. Alison explores the deeper meaning of vocation — not simply as a job or career path, but as the unique way each of us is meant to bring care, creativity, and connection into the world. Joined by sociologist Dr. Allison Pugh, professor at Johns Hopkins University and author of The Last Human Job, they reflect on what Dr. Pugh calls “connective labor” — the deeply human work of seeing others and allowing ourselves to be seen. This episode explores: -Why the most important part of vocation has almost nothing to do with your resume -The hidden kind of work you're doing every day-The small moment that can restore dignity in an instant (and why most of us miss it) -The tradeoff nobody talks about: when “more efficient” becomes “less human” -The uncomfortable question technology can't answer for you — and why it matters right now -The choice you still have (even in a system that feels unchangeable) As workplaces change and technologies like AI reshape how we interact, this conversation offers a grounding reminder: while tools may deliver information, they can never replace mutual presence, empathy, and relational connection.
