Face Your Fears Podcast hosted by Sam Fears and co-host Dylan Thompson. Nothing is out of reach. No joke is too extreme. Stop letting your mind tell you can’t. It’s time to “Face Your Fears”. Let’s go!
We have all heard the saying before, "mind over matter", meaning if you don't mind, then it doesn't matter. That can apply to anything, and while I relate it to a few things throughout the episode, the main thing I wanted to relate it to was a healthy lifestyle. The comparison is that if you do not mind living unhealthy then leading a healthy lifestyle does not matter. Now if you are someone who is tired of being overweight and wants to see what their body is truly capable of, then living that unhealthy lifestyle DOES matter, so it is time to enact a change. If this is you, then please reach out to me and let's get you started on your life changing journey!
In this episode, me and Alex talk about a few things that we have learned along the way in the realm of fitness. Since we are always learning, this is a topic we are sure to circle back around to as we continue our education. In you have questions that arise or some that have been bugging you, reach out to either one of us and we will be happy to help! If you read this far, I appreciate you for who you are and do not ever change for anyone! Unless you're Hitler, then... Bei der Wahrheit bleiben!!! And if you made it THIS far, share this shit or else.
In my first Spotify video, I explain the basic mechanism of creatine in the body and how supplementation with creatine is processed and used by the body. I have been using creatine for years and recommend it to anyone looking to cut fat or build muscle. I hope this video helps anyone wanting to get a quick understanding of creatine! If you enjoyed, please share it with your gym friends and help take their training to the next level!
GYM NEWBIES AND GYM RATS ACROSS THE GLOBE, HEED THIS WARNING. I do not care if this is your first day lifting or you have been lifting for ten years, if you do not follow these three tips when in the gym, you are digging yourself a hole that will be very hard to climb out of: 1. FORM FIRST 2. HAVE A PLAN 3. COMPOUND EXERCISES May your every wish come true, may your every dream be achieved, and may your every weight be lifted. Seriously though, leave your ego at the door, and if you lift correctly, you WILL see results. Thanks for listening, let me know if you like the episode! Also let me know you hate it, and we can settle this in the Walmart parking lot at 6:30 pm after I meet with my parole officer. GET SOME!
Top three episodes to date. Noah and James are two medical school bound buddies who are way more than a couple geniuses. Rock climbing and world traveling barely scratch the surface of what these guys are all about, so if you're as excited as I am, I think it's time you roll the tape, hit that play button, and get this show on the road!
ChatGPT is quickly becoming the thing to end all humanity, so I've officially sold my soul to OpenAI, they will be running the podcast from now on. I will exist only as a placeholder and a something to look at, but it will be ChatGPT calling all the shots. Oh, and Korean corn dogs.
Today was not the best day of my life and that's okay. Thank you for being my therapist for a few minutes, I just needed someone to listen. It is okay to not feel okay, it is okay to cry. Please please don't bottle these emotions up. It is part of the human experience to feel these emotions, just be aware they will pass. The sadness passes, just as happiness does. Emotions come and go, don't let them rob you of living to the fullest
Today I'll take you on a 10 minute meditation journey where we will attempt to live more in our present lives and be more aware of our surroundings. Relieve some stress and clean your mind. The majority of our day consists of worrying about what we have done or worrying about what we will eventually do, and you miss out on little intricacies and beauties each day that make life so special. So take some time to smell the roses, as they say, and be more in the moment with me.
America is back baby, in what could be the greatest way ever. Power slap is the future of sports, and Dana White is taking us there. Spelling bee's are clinically shown to cause depression in little fat boys. Thanks for listening
Merry Christmas! I hope it went well for you, but if your wife had an affair with Santa, I do completely understand your resentment of the holiday. Hopefully you got everything you wanted and more, but truthfully, you probably died a little inside, didn't you? THANKS FOR LISTENING OR WATCHING OR WHATEVER.
Scientists have discovered female snakes have clitorises. Don't ask me how they figured it out. Is it bad to laugh at someone having a t-bone induced heart attack? I don't think so. THANKS FOR LISTENING PLEASE COME BACK I BEG OF YOU.
Hot button issue today, but why are we not at Golden Corral more often? Yet it's always packed? It makes no sense, there is a glitch in the matrix. Move more and die less, it's scientifically proven. Walk faster to your car, speed walk to the bathroom, anything to increase that heart rate. Thanks for listening, coming back and being a real one, and I'll see you next week!
I want to take this time to apologize. TO ABSOLUTELY F*CKING NOBODY. No, but really, sorry for taking so long to release an episode. A lot has been happening in my life and I am trying to adjust to my new lifestyle. Trying to figure it out, and learning a lot about myself in the process. Thank you so much for coming back and listening, the few of you that do. You really are some dope individuals. Interesting nightmare remedy study in this one. I just did arms, I don't always look like that. I will try to be more consistent but no promises.
Shoutout to the homie WESTON SIZZLIN! Be seeing you soon and we can take some shots my dude. I don't know what it is about John Wick but that shit just gets me going. Ever wonder what the beginning of the universe was like? Me too, and with the James Webb Space Telescope we are closer then ever before to solving the greatest mystery ever. Thanks for listening and come back for more. FUCKING SHARE THIS SHIT
Did anyone see Draymond Green punch Jordan Poole in the face in practice the other day? It was hardcore, but I honestly don't have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is you not living up to your human potential because you're afraid of failing, you're too focused on the negative aspects of the failure instead of the positive aspects of the potential success. We have got to change that. So listen up!!
The experience of FOMO. The Fear Of Missing Out! We all experience it one way or another and that's okay, just recognize when you are feeling it and why you're feeling it. I get it from friends and family stuff, and the older I've gotten the more focused it has become on family. Thank you for listening, please share if you enjoyed or found it helpful!
100 episodes in and I finally give you the tools to face one of the most daunting things out there; exercise. Many people are afraid to start working out, and I want to change that. I want to help you if you want to let me help you. There are physical and mental aspects to working out, and many people can have different reasons for both. The most challenging part is to start and the sweetest victory is when you finally see that progress, you finally hit that goal you made for yourself three months ago. We can do that, we just have to FACE THAT FEAR! Thank you so much for listening, please share with someone who is hesitant about starting a workout plan or cannot find a good time to go to the gym. It is comfortable to say you're busy, and getting out of your comfort zone is where you make the most change! ASK ME ALL YOUR QUESTIONS AND I WILL GET YOU ANSWERS!!!
Think about this. Your tongue knows what everything feels like. What? Scientists have unearthed what they believe is the oldest known amputation in human history. Ankle down man. Cool stuff. I'm just trying to find myself in life, man. Live it up. Thanks for coming to hang with me, see you next week for #100!
Dylan is off bettering himself, so there will probably be more solo episodes from here on out. Each day, no matter what you do, you should strive to be the best version of you that you can be. You don't have to cure cancer or time travel, just give good effort in whatever you do each day. It could change your life or someone else's life. Had a good weekend on the lake, didn't get eaten, thankfully. I appreciate you listening, and I ask you follow or share so you can be ready for the next episode!
NASA is planning to send people back to the moon by 2025! Two tests flights are to occur, one Monday morning and then one in 2024 to prepare for the actual landing on the moon in 2025. It'll be exciting to see how it goes. When will we go to Mars? Probably not too long from now! Thanks for listening, and please like and share!
Scientists are using dead spiders in the lab as grabbers, and plan for far more involved acts in the future, I'm sure. I can't imagine where that could go from there. Dylan stopped jumping rope so it's only a matter of time before he becomes obese. Thank you for listening, please share and like! Come back for more!
Trying an iced tea mixed with watermelon lemonade. Looks like a lava lamp. Would you give up your childhood for a chance to have some sort of fame? Or the chance for it to go the other way? The original hulk was so much more aggressive than the hulk nowadays. Thanks for listening, give us a like if you enjoyed it!
What do we think about Owen Wilson? I'm still sure if he is a good actor or not but I've seen a lot of his movies. Rank them: Beach, lake, and the river. Which is your favorite and why? Could you imagine owning a yacht? Or a private jet? No you can't, and neither can I. Thank you for listening, and of course please come back for more!
Got some new shirts, maybe cop one if you're feeling it. Watched The Black Phone this weekend, and it was decent, but honestly could have been so much better. Some Twitter users have been tracking celebrities and their private jet usage, and you'd never guess who tops the list of private jet CO2 emissions. None other than mrs “look what you made me do” herself, Taylor Swift. Odd thing to spend time tracking, I will say, but nonetheless. Thanks for listening, I'm trying to make these interesting and sometimes feel like I'm fighting a losing battle, but it is fun to research topics and say dumb stuff sometimes, so I will probably keep at it. Be sure to give me a rate and share!
What's the best game show out there, because there are a ton. Whoever came up with peanut butter pretzels, thank you so much. Rachael is making burgers in the background, sorry for the extra noise. Andrew Schultz dropped a comedy special and had some difficulties with the network, so he is dropping it himself, and we are going to check it out after this episode. Thanks for watching, and of course give us a like and a follow!
Ever had an awkward traffic confrontation? I saw one this past week and I got second hand awkwardness from it. The James Webb Space Telescope has finally sent some pictures to us here on Earth, and they're fabulous. Many more to come. What is nostalgia? Well, I take a shot at describing it and giving some reasons as to why it happens and how it benefits us as humans. Science baby! Thank you for listening, please share with someone if you learned something! Subscribe for more!!
Why is all the pop music so soft now? Whatever, I don't get it, and I guess I'm not supposed to. In scary news, there was a case of a brain eating amoeba in Iowa. Yes, you read that right. It is crazy. In good news, cancer patients are giving up pain medication for weed. That's awesome! Thank you for listening, please follow and give us a like, see you next week!
Well, happy July 4th! Hope everyone had fun and was safe! We had us a big time on the lake this past weekend with a story that made the whole weekend. Short episode because I'm tired af and we did two long ones already, time for me to eat some ramen and watch Letterkenny. Be sure to like and follow, and as always, thank you for listening!
So there is something fishy going on with JUUL and the government. They ban them, and now the ban is delayed, so it'll be interesting to see how it proceeds. Got some more information on that underground ocean, which unfortunately isn't an ocean in the terms we think of it. If you haven't seen A Cabin In The Woods, you need to watch it, even though I spoil it for you. Dylan tells us how he almost killed an entire town. We've got a little beer in us. It's a great episode, something you won't want to miss. Please like and share with someone who you also think will enjoy the episode! Till next week!
Our first official guest! The homie Brett! We got an official microphone too so I hope this sounds good. We got Jacob in the background too, he gives some good info here and there. I really hope you enjoy the episode, we talk about everything from weed stories and cop encounters to aliens! Be sure to share the episode and give us a rating, whether you like it or hate it! Thank you again for listening!
Our buddy Grant was recently the victim of a hit and run, poor guy. But we've all been there, haven't we? Scientists have now grown actual skin around a robot finger. Yes, you read that right, actual skin. Terminator is now real life. They're getting creative with these surgeries they have now too, and it's both amazing and a little freaky. The future is going to be absolutely insane. Thank you for listening, be sure to follow and share if you enjoyed! MERCH COMING SOON!
Man, I wish I could play the guitar. My grandma went on a trip to a couple different countries and had some insane stories to tell, it really makes you think about how well we have it. Lots of things in this country are going on, and around the world, and we aren't sure exactly what needs to be done but it does need to be talked about. All we can say is to love those around you and always be kind, because you never know what someone is going through. Don't forget, rejection hurts less than an opportunity missed, so try things that scare you and don't be afraid to move out of your comfort zone. Thank you for listening, and please share the episode if you enjoyed any part of it! Thank you, see you next week!
Just coming back from a weekend lake trip, what a time it was. We lost some stuff, threw some stuff up, and passed out everywhere, but we made it. Gemini Man with Will Smith is a very crazy movie, and I've heard bad reviews but honestly I thought it was pretty good. Bad service, but the food was great, and if you listen, you'll know what I'm talking about. Thank you, and please share the podcast if you liked it, and definitely share it if you hate it!
Scientists are getting more intrigued by the UFO phenomenon, so much so they had a court hearing recently to discuss the many sightings. Luka magic needs a 50 point triple double for the Mavs to get a win in game three tonight, can he do it? My new song is a little on the wild side but it's but I'm a creative, at least that's what I tell myself. Thanks for listening, please like and follow. Share the podcast if you found something interesting or funny!
So scientists have finally gotten a picture, blurry as it might be, of the black hole, Sagittarius A, at the center of our galaxy! That is amazing! In speaking about the great pyramid in Egypt, there is a chamber that was discovered a few years back that, due to Egyptian politics and other issues, has yet to be explored, as is a cavity under the left paw of the Sphinx! I'm getting my information from professor Robert Schoch who has a website and has written books about these events. He has spent a lot of his life studying these things and teaching at Boston University so check him out if you want to know more. Thank you for listening, and please subscribe and share if you found anything interesting or funny! Have a great day!
Fights this past weekend were horrible and also amazing. I try to explain the idea that the universe is expanding and a theoretical model of it, but I'm not exactly sure what I said makes sense. Dylan talks about some shipwreck gadgets and then we go into some mysteries of the pyramids and lost civilizations in the Amazon. What an episode! Thanks for listening, and be sure to follow us for more!
Scientists have discovered the last two nucleotide bases that compose DNA and RNA on a meteorite. The same stuff that makes up our biology? Did we come from space, from another planet that was perhaps destroyed? Who knows. But the universe is expanding and it has infinite possibilities. But how many dimensions? We don't know that either, but thanks for thinking about it with us! Please share and follow for more!
I read a terrible article about a family murder suicide that happened not too long ago, and Dylan talks a little more about some unsolved murders. It's crazy that people out there have this kind of stuff going on in their head, and even more wild that some people actually follow through with it. Hope you enjoy the episode and be sure to follow for more!
Happy Easter! Do any of y'all play tennis? Dylan recently started back playing and he says it's a great workout, I think I believe him. But how hard is it compared to other exhausting sports? We give our opinions on the matter. We think baseball requires the most skill, feel free to disagree. As always, thanks for watching, and be sure to like and share!
Back from Little Rock, me and Dylan are both a little tired. The oldest skull surgery in America dates back 3,000 years, but it's nothing you or I would want done. The James Webb Space Telescope has reached its destination in space and now, for the next five months, will run tests to make sure every little thing it working. I'm excited to see some images. Thanks for listening, as always, be sure to share with someone!
NASA keeps discovering new exoplanets and, with the help of the new James Webb Space Telescope, will be able to determine what they're made of and maybe even if they're capable of containing life. That's exciting. What if they have 10 ft spiders? You going? Me neither. So Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars last Sunday because of a joke Chris said about his wife and her hair condition. It was insane, and it's hard to tell if it was staged or not, but either way it got the Oscars back on the map, at least for now. Apparently they've made up already but who knows. Thanks for listening, and as always, please share and follow for more!
Me and Dylan bs our way through the first few minutes. Dragon fruit soda? It's decent. Would you ever rock climb? What about with no rope? What if we were all actually dead? That's a crazy one to think about. Thank you for listening and please like and follow the podcast to always catch the new episodes!
Me and Dylan talk health! He's been researching a thing called “sprouts”, namely the ones from broccoli, and they have tremendous health benefits! We go over a few of the difficulties of losing weight and the fad diet. Eating habits are extremely variable among people so one diet will not work for everyone! Moderation, in my opinion, is key to a successful caloric intake to keep yourself from going off the rails each weekend. If you found this helpful or entertaining please like and share with someone! Till next time!
BRADY IS BACK. Not that he ever left. One final year of GOAT watching. So set to be released are millions of genetically modified mosquitoes. The males will have a gene that will render female offspring, the ones that bite, unable to fully mature and consequently die. Not sure if this is good or bad, but I hate mosquitoes so it's worth a try. One million earths can fit in our sun. And it's an average sun, not a quote from my mom either. The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs was larger than the whole state of Arkansas. Think about that. Thank you for listening, PLEASE share, like the podcast and always come back for more!
Another tornado warning, I'm getting tired of all these storms. Colby dominated Jorge and it wasn't even close, wasn't necessarily supposed to be but it's more fun when it is, of course. What makes you the most mad? For me, it's video games, I get sooooo mad it's unreal. Dr Alia Crum studies mindsets in people and has for years, and she is working on something called “The Flow State” which is the scientific way of saying “Being In The Zone”. She works on how to initiate that mindset and use it effectively. Thank you listening, and please share!
So Snapchat FINALLY let's your change your username, after years of user complaints and embarrassment. Reminded me of the old PlayStation usernames and the infamous COD lobbies. So there is a war happening? Not exactly up to date with the information but this is something to keep watching, just like this podcast! Be sure to share with someone!
Wouldn't it be great to be able to go back and watch a movie for the first time? Relive that laughter and unsuspecting hilarious moments? Good times. Speaking of good times, the 2021 hub wrapped is here, and some of you people are a little on the wild side. Check the stats, they speak for themselves. Thanks for listening and, as always, share with your family and come back for more!
Got pulled over this weekend and the cop couldn't find me in the system? Jail time? Super Bowl was decent but with no Brady it feels empty. When will the world end? How? Well, not by supervolcano, at least not yet anyways. Thanks for listening, as always, and please share this thing with everyone you know!
How slept on Sprite? A ton? Not at all? Is it in your top 5? My book has been good, will let you know as I keep reading. Video cut out a few times, so sorry for the odd pauses. How about to Joe Rogan Drama? Pretty crazy, I'm interested to see how it turns out. I appreciate you for listening, be sure to share and come back for more!
Is Brady retiring? Nobody knows, and it's got the world on their toes. What do you know about psychedelics? We talk about that a little, and about a new book I got. Educational read, of course, and everything we say is of course not to be taken literal or as recommendation/advice. Definitely do your own research and be careful! Thanks for listening, be sure to share!
Bills vs Chiefs was absolutely INSANE! Sucks how it ended, Josh Allen didn't even get a chance, but they were SLINGING. We talk a bit about obesity, and no, obviously we don't want anyone killing themselves, but we do want them taking care of themselves, so get out and do a little exercise and maybe stop smoking of something. Thanks for listening, and be sure to come back for more!
