Could a clone ever truly understand who they are? Journey with us as we tackle the mind-bending complexities of "Gemini Man" and unravel the layers of this action-packed film. We start with a dose of humor, engaging in some playful banter about personal interests, from Dan's unexpected opinion on trains to Tony's quest for the perfect climate. Our light-hearted chatter even leads us to hilariously debunk the Goldilocks story, touching on quirky habits and cultural practices that add a unique twist to our conversation. As we go deeper, we meticulously dissect the plot of "Gemini Man" and the moral dilemmas it presents. You'll hear a thorough critique of Henry's assassination mission on a Belgian bullet train and the bizarre intersections of his professional and personal life. We leave no stone unturned as we scrutinize the black-and-white moral framework, the mysterious Project Gemini, and the perplexing decisions made by the shadowy organization behind it all. Our discussion brings to light the confusion and questions that arise from the protagonist's journey and the film's portrayal of secretive operations and cloning. Finally, we examine the technical aspects of the film, including the use of CGI and high frame rates, while also critiquing the emotional depth of Will Smith's character. From the intense action scenes to the unexpected father-son dynamics, we offer a humorous analysis that questions the movie's logic and coherence. So, tune in for critical insights, humorous observations, and engaging commentary that promises to keep you entertained from start to finish.Written lovingly with AIBe our friend!Dan: @shakybaconTony: @tonydczechAnd follow the podcast on IG: @hatewatchingDAT

Ever wondered how you could create a hit game app without the annoyance of ads? Join us for a hilarious brainstorming session where we tackle that conundrum and somehow land on coining an unfortunate term, "HPV," for hybrid YouTube videos and podcasts. We then dive headfirst into the chaotic world of "Hitman: Agent 47," where we dissect everything from implausible survival tactics to convoluted plots, while reminiscing about the golden era of Roger Corman's double-feature films. If you've ever questioned the logic of movie chase scenes or the quality of their dialogue, this one's for you!Next, we take a stab at unraveling the complex web of DNA manipulation and genetic editing, comparing it to everything from Jurassic Park to a romantic comedy. We break down the science and sprinkle in some ethical considerations, making sure to keep it light and accessible. Our discussion doesn't shy away from critiquing the absurdities of action-packed movie moments, from improbable escapes to laughable character developments. You'll find our humorous take on these scenes both entertaining and thought-provoking.To top it all off, we share some nostalgia about iconic comic book characters and tease our upcoming review of "Gemini Man." Plus, a few light-hearted debates on seafood restaurants and the art of cheddar biscuits! Don't miss our closing reminder to like, subscribe, and stay tuned for more engaging (and often comically critical) discussions. Special shoutout to our loyal listeners, Todd and Tom, for sticking with us through the madness. Tune in for our next episode where we promise another rollercoaster ride through the world of movies! This Description written lovingly by AIBe our friend!Dan: @shakybaconTony: @tonydczechAnd follow the podcast on IG: @hatewatchingDAT

Ce qui est bien, c'est que chaque liste correspond vraiment à chaque membre !THOMAS « EL COMANDANTE »Speed racer (The Wachowskis – 2008)Mad Max : Fury road (George Miller – 2015)Dernier Maquis / Les Chants de Mandrin (Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche – 2008 / 2011)The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans / Au cœur des volcans (Werner Herzog – 2009 / 2023)Balada Triste de Trompeta (Alex de la Iglesia – 2010)The Counselor (Ridley Scott – 2013)Cameraperson (Kirsten Johnson – 2019)Mektoub my love : Canto Uno (Abdellatif Kechiche – 2017)Small Axe – Lovers Rock (Steve McQueen – 2021)Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen / 13 Hours : The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (Michael Bay – 2009 / 2016)GI Joe : Rise of Cobra (Stephen Sommers – 2009)Hypernormalisation (Adam Curtis – 2015)La Loi de la Jungle (Antonin Peretjatko – 2016)Lincoln (Spielberg – 2012)Boyhood / Everybody Wants Some !! We speak with two-time Emmy Award-winning and Oscar nominated VFX supervisor Andrew Roberts on this episode of Post In Black. Andrew's credits include Haunted Mansion, Killers of the Flower Moon, Babylon, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Umma, Godzilla vs. Kong, Aquaman, Black Panther, Gemini Man and Snow White and the Huntsman, just to name a few from Andrew's long list of projects that span over 25 years in the industry. Because Post In Black is an interview series that features professionals working in post-production while highlighting their experiences and insight as Black people working in the entertainment industry, this discussion is a perfect season 5 premiere episode because we get to talk about Andrew's experience emigrating to the United States from London and navigating the industry without a network or community and how it has informed his involvement with the Academy GOLD Program, a career development initiative for professionals from underrepresented communities. In that the pathways into entertainment are varied and rarely linear, we talk about how Andrew's academic background in computer programming landed him a job at an architect firm which in turn ignited a special appreciation for the inner workings of software design and 3D technology. Through hard work, risk, hope and relocating to LA, he landed at Industrial Light & Magic where he began as a brain bar supervisor/virtual production supervisor on Obi-Wan Kenobi and later, became a visual effects supervisor for ILM. We were able to really geek out on this episode at length with a lot of great insight from Andrew on what it was like working on the sci-fi thriller, The Creator. We get some really cool filmmaking app recommendations and so much more from this conversation. Dig in! Stay tuned for more episodes of Post In Black's fourth season as we continue to amplify the stories and experiences of Black professionals working in post-production. Look out for new episodes every second and fourth Wednesday. . . . We take a trip to London to see Avatar: The Way of Water again, this time on the biggest screen in the country at the BFI IMAX, in high frame rate and 3D. We discuss the difference in experience between seeing it here and at the IMAX Digital cinema at Cineworld Broad Street, where we saw it previously. Mike questions why the film switches between 24fps and 48fps, rather than sticking with the high frame rate throughout - director James Cameron describes how HFR assists in making 3D imagery less difficult to resolve, and implies that he limits its use to avoid the so-called "soap opera effect" that made the Hobbit films and Gemini Man look so cheap, but Mike doesn't buy that it's necessary to keep returning to 24fps, and thinks Cameron's a big scaredy-cat. José, on the other hand, can't seem to tell the difference between the frame rates at all. We also discuss what a second viewing of the film brings into focus that we hadn't put our finger on before, Mike comparing it to the nature documentaries that IMAX have produced for years, and José implores the film community to drop its snootiness and embrace the opportunity to see such a marvellous spectacle while it's still in cinemas. It's really special. Recorded on 3rd January 2023.

Travel back with us to 2019, Will Smith was getting jiggy with it as this was his third movie of the year. This time we're getting a double dose of Mr. Smith in Gemini Man. A film that utilizes new technology that allowed Robert Deniro and Al Pacino to be aged down in the Irishman. In Gemini Man Will Smith is going up against a very impressive and familiar looking younger version of himself. While technological advancements in movies can sometimes like gimmicks and can take time to get to the right level of believability (3D), we were pretty impressed by this feat.  Kortel Autrey is a Hollywood Stuntman that is on the rise! You've seen his work in Straight out of Compton, Bad Boys for Life, Gemini Man, Charm City Kings, Fast and Furious - Hobbies and Shaw, commercials, awards shows and music videos.  This all comes from humble beginnings and the desire to create a better life.  In this episode we discuss his journey originating in the inner-city of Los Angeles; South Central/Watts to working on feature films.  He was exposed to bikes when he was 4 years old by his father. At the time,He thought bikes were just recreational fun. He didn't realize my father used bikes as a motivational tool to keep him on a righteous path..  As an adult, he now understands the detrimental effects of the crack epidemic. His father, mother and grandmother were all instrumental in him becoming the man I am today. The phrase, “It takes a village to raise a child” is an understatement in the “hood”.  As a youth, he developed a passion for peddle bikes, BMX bikes, motorcycles, dirt bikes riding moto and stunting in the streets. Growing up in the inner-city riding dirt bikes was not as tangible to his community at the time. Due to the lack of resources, people of color are not exposed to the same opportunities as others.  Also in the episode Kortel discusses the role of community and how through the love of  bike culture he helped create their own. Taking to the streets he and his friends developed stunt riding on another level. He was able to master the skill which helped him develop respect and relationships with different neighborhoods and gangs. At a young age he was very aware that the ability to stunt ride could be something truly awesome; something his community needs to help mend its brokenness. He began to teach his peers how to ride and stunt ride hosting  street rides to help unify gangs in our neighborhoods. That's where the concept “Bikes Over Bang'n” was developed and his non profit was born. Kortel lost many close friends and family members from senseless gang violence so he created a different path for himself and a desire to share that road to success to the youth. Once  he began to see opportunities within the industry, he was able to capitalize on them. Carrying out his vision of unifying the Black community. He  began to coordinate music videos which brought income into the homes of the inner city. In his spare time also builds custom bikes for celebrities  in the industry. Usher and London on da  Track are just a few of his esteemed clientele.  Accolades include being nominated for a Taurus World Stunt Award for his stunt work in  “Gemini Man” and “Fast and Furious Hobbies and Shaw”.  He  is  currently mentored by Jalil “Jay” Lynch who is not only an amazing Stunt-Driver but a dynamic individual. His wife Quanda and son Kortel II are very important aspects of his success.

Indy's technical skill behind the camera has landed her work with master storytellers including Ang Lee and David Lynch on major Hollywood movies such as “Harriet,” “Gemini Man,” and “A Wrinkle In Time.” Her documentary work as cinematographer includes: “Soma Girls,” about education the children of sex workers in India that aired on PBS; "Women in the Front Seat,” about female motorcycle gearheads (winner Best Feature Doc in the Nevada Women's Film Festival) and “Ice Bear,” a National Geographic Wild film for which she received an Emmy Nomination. SHOW LINKS / MENTIONS SHOUT OUT: Indy mentioned her friend, Sharon Sullivan, who she created a final college project with - a performance art piece targeting violence against women and ending in a interactive ritual that allowed anyone to write on a piece of paper something in their life they want to release and burn in a ceremonial process. Sharon went on to devote her life to improving the lives of women - working to stop sex trafficking. Helping trafficked survivors after they've been rescued. Creating a program to educate women at the local women's prison so when they are released they have better chance at a new life. Going to the UN to advocate for women's rights. Don't miss the link to her TED TALK below. Indy stopped at her farm in Topeka, Kansas during her motorcycle road trip, exhausted and questioning whether or not to keep going.
