Merry Thanksgiving, everyone! We decided to to release this one a little early! Yeah, we wet there with this guy. Peter Kurten is one of the worst. Todd is taking some time off, so filling in for him is Matthew Brockmeyer of Murder Coaster, which is a great podcast. Plus, Bill has a nasty cold, but he powers through it. Peter Kurten was born in 1883, the oldest of 13 kids in a 1 bedroom apartment, with a super abusive prick for a father. He would force his kids to watch him abuse and rape their mother, then he began abusing the kids, especially Peter. Peter killed 2 of his classmates, and was taken in by a creepy dog catcher who molested him, and taught him how to torture animal His father then escalated to raping Peter's younger sister. His mom caught him in the act, and he was arrested. Peter picked up where his father left off, also raping his sister. His mother caught him, and he bolted. He began breaking and entering, and raping women, but was caught. He wound up joining the army but deserted. He then began killing women, and would do prison time again. After that, he went back to his sister, who reluctantly took him because her husband insisted. He then met a woman with a checkered past that he could relate to, and they were then married. Part 2 gets really brutal. Be sure to check out Murder Coaster! Instagram Facebook Twitter(X) Patreon Website
Merry Thanksgiving from The Hallmark Cafe! In this episode, we travel to Scotland, where Michael visits his roots, for A Merry Scottish Christmas. Lacey Chabert is paired with one time co-star Scott Wolf in a story of royalty and romance in Scotland. The story takes pace in a Scottish castle where the pipes are gently calling (and we're not talking about the hundreds of years old plumbing) Throw in a scene stealing cameo from a fellow Hallmark star and it's whimsy galore in the highlands. For dessert, we talk movies and turkey with our own call-in to the very funny, Holiday Hotline. Emily Tennant and Niall Matter cook up some steam in this homage to the classic films, The Shop Around The Corner and You've Got Mail by putting a modern spin on a timeless plot. Your place at the table is ready!

Chinggay and Patty divvy up the Merry Thanksgiving movies into three categories—mediocre non-performers, basic Hallmark fare, and all-new classics everyone's sure to rewatch for years to come. BMIH kings Tyler Hynes and Victor Webster take the cake this week, while HCU queens Lacey Chabert and Rachel Boston show everyone how it's done. There's a little something for everyone this week and that's enough reason to go through eight movies in one go. Special mention to Hallmark's next gen up and comers Jaicy Elliot and Hunter King.Catch us every week until December for our roundup of holiday hits!A Holiday Spectacular (Ginna Claire Mason, Derek Klena, Eve Plumb, Ann-Margret, and features the Radio City Rockettes)A Tale of Two Christmases (Katherine Barrell, Chandler Massey, Evan Roderick)A Royal Corgi Christmas (Hunter King, Jordan Renzo )Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas (Holland Roden, Tyler Hynes, Tenille Townes)My Southern Family Christmas (Jaicy Elliot, Ryan Rottman, with Moira Kelly, Bruce Campbell)#Xmas (Clare Bowen, Brant Daugherty)A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe (Rachel Boston, Victor Webster)Haul Out the Holly (Lacey Chabert, Wes Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Melissa Peterman, Ellen Travolta)Thanks to Pietro Lazatin for our music and Paola Lazatin for our cover artFollow us on Twitter: @makeithallmark and on Instagram: @butmakeithallmark
Mary and Sarah watched a few over the Merry Thanksgiving weekend, but chose to only pay attention to A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe. Joined by book club friend, Meghan, this #redpenrewindrewrite is stellar. You won't want to miss the new concept introduced during this episode. Please call us Hallmark to help us make this amazing interactive movie come to life! Annie faces her first obstacle as CEO of Cooper's Cookies when grandma's secret recipe is stolen. While investigating the theft, she works with local baker Sam to recreate the beloved recipe. Starring Rachel Boston and Victor Webster.
Sorry we're late listener! We've lost track of the days after being subjected to SO many Hallmark movies this Merry Thanksgiving Weekend! We didn't even get to enjoy a slice of pumpkin pie... because Molly dropped it on the floor. Yes, we did watch 6 out of the 8 premieres this weekend, but today we're here to talk about HAUL OUT THE HOLLY starring the new Queen of Christmas Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown. Did it feel like a movie 3 years ago? Absolutely! Was it funny? Absolutely not! Did we hate it? ABSOLUTELY! _________________________________________________________ Follow us on IG @homeforhallmark Email us at homeforhallmark@gmail.com Thank you, good-bye!

What do I have to be thankful for? Nothing right now. I just wrote a beautiful paragraph describing this show, the season, my current mood. It was friggin' poetic. Then the page just refreshed and erased my words. Gone. Dammit. Ok. It's cool, I've calmed down, but I've totally forgot everything I wrote and now I really don't care to replicate it. Now it's just me complaining about something stupid I have no power over. Then again, that might be the premise of every one of our shows. We're back with another Home Away From Hallmark after last weeks Merry Thanksgiving! This week we endured Comedy Central's A Clüsterfünke Christmas and enjoyed Netflix's Single All The Way! Thanksgiving was this past weekend and it always reminds me to be thankful for the things I have and where I am in life. Family. Friends. We went axe throwing again, speaking of friends, and it was awesome, again! Big discussion about thanksgiving foods, too. Dylan hates parades, so we will dive into that trauma as well. Thanks for listening, be sure to share!
Chinggay and Patty cringe through a few misses and revel at the massive number of hits that Hallmark's Merry Thanksgiving streak had to offer. It was like the veritable HCU Avengers came to town, with Niall Matter (worming his way into our panties again), Tyler Hynes (who we have F'd and M'd one too many times), unexpected cameos from actors who've stolen our hearts, unexpected bad guy from the big city Trevor Donovan, actual DC superhero fireman Brandon Routh, and Hallmark comedy queens Kimberly Sustad and Bethany Joy Lenz. Philippians 2:14-18 "Merry Thanksgiving" 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. 17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. 18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me. Rom 1:21-23 (ungratefulness is the beginning of the downward trend) 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. **1. Do all things without grumbling or disputing** a. Grumbling or murmuring…… 1 Peter 4:9 - Be hospitable to one another without complaint. Prov 23:6-7 6 Do not eat the bread of a selfish man, Or desire his delicacies; 7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, "Eat and drink!" But his heart is not with you. 8 You will vomit up the morsel you have eaten, And waste your compliments. b. Disputing is dialogismos—or dialoguing or questioning Ps 1:1 - How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the **seat of scoffers!** Isa 45:9 - "Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker — An earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, 'What are you doing?' Or the thing you are making say, 'He has no hands'? Sinclair Ferguson--"A complaining or arguing spirit is an expression of ingratitude to God's providence, and of lovelessness and pride towards others. It is a denial of grace; it is working against salvation rather than working salvation into every aspect of our lives" **2. We are called not to grumble to be a light in the midst of darkness.** “15 **so that you will prove yourselves** to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,” Rom 1:21-23 (ungratefulness is the beginning of the downward trend) 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their **foolish heart was darkened.** 22 Professing to be wise, **they became fools,** 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Matt 5:14-16 - "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. 2 Cor 4:15 - For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God. **3. Fight grumbling by holding fast the word of life.** “16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.” 1 Cor 15:1-3 - Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, **in which also you stand**, 2 by which also you are saved, if you **hold fast the word which I preached to you,** unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, Phil 1:6 - For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Phil 1:12 - Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel Phil 3:8 - More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, **4. Learn to be thankful especially during difficult times.** “17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. 18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.” 1 Thess 5:18 - in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:11-13 - Not that I speak from want, for I **have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.** 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Merry Thanksgiving, Fivers! It's that special time each year that families get together and pretend they don't hate each other for ten hours straight. J & Q have decided to celebrate by bringing their families together and then secluding themselves in the Writer's Room to record a podcast about the Top 5 Best Thanksgiving Movies of all time! You might be surprised by how many movies are set in and around Thanksgiving (and in Q's case, which movies he considers "Thanksgiving movies"), but you won't be surprised by how much Q and J like to talk about food. When we aren't talking about people trying to get home for Thanksgiving, we dive into what we've been watching this week and which recent DC release was a holiday disaster (hint: it rhymes with "Justice League" and is spelled the same way). We also answer listener requests just for an extra helping of greatness; so, find your place at the table and join us for a feast of cinematic proportions as we celebrate the holidays the only way we know how: by talking about movies!
