You did the bold thing. You went through with it. It even went well. So why isn't the doubt gone? Why does the next meeting, the next date, the next big moment still produce the same anxiety? In this episode, Dr. Aziz unpacks why get out of your comfort zone and face your fears is incomplete advice that's been failing high-functioning people for years. The exposures aren't the problem. What's missing is what's supposed to happen during the exposures, and most people are running so hard at the surface task they never get to it. He shares a story about a Toastmasters client who did fifteen polished speeches without ever updating her actual fear, and a moment from his own training where he taught a group of college students about test anxiety by being the most visibly anxious person in the room. This episode covers: Why exposure-alone keeps high-functioning professionals stuck in endurance mode for decades The thing your nervous system actually needs to learn from each exposure (and what most people accidentally prevent) The hyper-prepared, polished version of you that's been blocking the real update The toggle from endurance mode to enjoyment mode, and what changes when you flip it Discover your approval type. This episode comes straight from our BraveCo conference. John open's by walking through one of my favorite overlooked stories in Scripture: the resurrection morning where Jesus spends his first hours back from the dead playing what can only be described as practical jokes on his closest friends. If you've never noticed Jesus's sense of humor in the text, I promise once you see it, you can't unsee it, and it changes how you relate to Him.From there, John lays out a framework I've spent years developing: the masculine journey through the stages of beloved son, cowboy, warrior, lover, king, and sage. John uses David and Goliath, stories from his own life growing up on my grandfather's cattle ranch, and even a scene from Kingdom of Heaven to show how God doesn't just drop courage and identity on us out of nowhere. He initiates us through real experiences, one stage at a time, and most of us are walking around as unfinished men still needing to be built up in one of these areas, whether that's beloved-ness, adventure, the fight with our enemy, or learning to truly know our wife's heart. The second half of this talk is where John get's really practical, because none of this framework matters if you can't hear your Father's voice for yourself. John shares some of the wildest, most personal stories of God speaking to me, through a nalgene bottle, an underwear tag, and a canceled sermon that turned out to save me from disaster, and then John walk's the room through simple, no-pressure ways to start recognizing his voice in your own life. We close together in a guided time of prayer, facing our fears, asking the Father hard questions, and breaking agreements we've made with the enemy about who we are as men. If you're hungry for more of God and tired of trying to figure life out on your own, this one is for you. Stay brave, and I'll see you next week.Chapters:00:00 – Welcome08:04 – You Are a Son16:20 – How God Initiates Men Through Experience24:21 – The Beloved Son Stage32:35 – Eve, Beauty & Why Your Wife Needs God, Not Just You40:42 – God Isn't as Religious as You Think48:48 – The Key to Everything56:59 – How to Actually Hear God Speak1:05:04 – Facing Your Fears & Letting God In1:13:14 – Warrior Prayer: Breaking Agreements With the EnemyCONNECT WITH BRAVECOJoin Our Free Community for Men (ladies, sign up your man): https://www.braveco.orgFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/braveco.menInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/braveco.men/Shop: https://shop.braveco.org/ABOUT BRAVECO: We live in a time where men are hunting for the truth and looking for the codebook to manhood. You think some people are just born without fear, but my guest Koa Smith has spent 15 years paddling into waves big enough to kill him, and he'll tell you the opposite: fear never leaves, the whole game is what you do when it shows up. After a reef injury knocked him unconscious underwater and left him eight months numb, depressed, and unable to get a straight answer from a doctor, he clawed his way back with forest time, breathwork, meditation, clean food, and real sleep instead of a prescription. This isn't really a surfing video, it's about the same fear that keeps you from a hard conversation, a new business, or a decision you've been avoiding, and how getting clear lets you finally see through it. What if healing isn't just about changing your circumstances—but also tending what's been growing inside of you? Last week, we explored the metaphor of seed and soil: the way your nature and your nurture shape who you become. This week, we're going deeper. Because your inner world isn't just one plant—it's more like a whole garden. In this episode, we'll explore the difference between tending your inner garden and tending the outer soil around you. You'll learn why old patterns can still show up even after you've changed your life, why boundaries are not punishment, and how real healing involves both compassion for what grew inside of you and courage to change what surrounds you now. Here's what we cover: *How to recognize the tender, resilient, overgrown, and buried parts of your inner world *Why changing your outer environment helps—but doesn't automatically heal the inner one *The difference between boundaries as punishment and boundaries as self-stewardship *How differentiation helps you stay connected to yourself, even in difficult relationships *Why real change is possible, even if the soil around you has been hard Real healing is rarely a single breakthrough moment. It's the slow, faithful work of tending what has been entrusted to you, one step at a time. Nick Day was driving his car half a mile from home.On his way to pick up his daughter. Half a second later, everything changed and his whole life turned upside down. The person who showed up after the accident was someone he didn't recognise. Nick, an extrovert with a theatre degree. Loud. Social. Full of life. He closed the curtains and didn't leave his house for months. He told himself it was out of respect. But when he got really honest, it was fear. That was the beginning.Years of struggle followed. His daughter was diagnosed with an eating disorder. His father, his hero, passed away. And through every one of those moments, fear showed up again. Different shape. Same game. What Nick discovered is this: fear isn't the enemy. It's a signal.  It points directly at the things that matter most. And fear's greatest disguise? Wisdom. It's that quiet voice telling you to keep your distance. To play it safe. To play it small. That voice isn't wisdom. That's fear in a suit.Failure you can heal from. But regret lingers forever.Where are you paying “The Fear Tax” in your life? This is one of the most vulnerable and moving conversations I've ever had on this show. I hope it resonates with you the way it did with me.Apply to work with me: https://www.michaelxcampion.com/Guest - Nick Day (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nickday/)Connect with me: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelxcampion/Nick Day is the CEO and founder of JGA Recruitment Group, a B-Corp certified executive search firm specializing in Payroll and HR. The sermon centers on the urgent call to faithful church attendance as a mark of genuine faith, rooted in Hebrews 10:24–25 and reinforced by Leviticus 19:17–18, emphasizing that loving one another requires consistent, intentional community. It challenges listeners to reject spiritual complacency and legalistic hypocrisy, affirming that true love for God is demonstrated through obedience to His commands, including regular fellowship. The message underscores the necessity of personal repentance and faith in Christ alone for salvation, rejecting self-reliance and affirming the biblical truth of divine judgment and the exclusive saving work of Jesus. With a tone that is both convicting and pastoral, it calls listeners to a transformative commitment to Christ, followed by practical steps for spiritual growth, including prayer, Bible study, and active participation in the local church. The sermon concludes with an invitation to respond personally, offering resources to support new believers in their journey.

The sermon emphasizes that God's love is unconditional and not dependent on human actions, offering assurance and dispelling fear through agape love, as demonstrated in John 3:16 and 1 John 4. It challenges listeners to examine their own lives, urging them to reconcile with those they have wronged and to prioritize love for God and neighbor, even amidst adversity and potential criticism. Drawing on Old Testament passages like Leviticus 19, the message underscores the importance of obedience to God's commandments, including faithful church attendance, not out of legalism but as an expression of genuine love and a response to God's grace, ultimately leading to a life of purity, separation, and submission to the Holy Spirit.

The sermon emphasizes the importance of facing life's decisions with confidence by seeking God's will, rooted in a loving, paternal relationship rather than a fear of condemnation. Drawing from 1 John and Romans, it explores the concept of adoption as redemption of the body, highlighting the believer's identity as a son of God and the expectation of transformation at the rapture. The message underscores that true obedience, even when it involves difficult choices and familial discord, stems from a reverential fear and love for God, ultimately conforming believers to the image of Christ and ensuring that all things work together for good, as God lovingly disciplines and corrects his children.

The sermon explores the complexities of maintaining faithfulness to God amidst social pressures and the potential for division within relationships, particularly when faced with the temptation to compromise biblical standards to preserve friendships or familial harmony. Drawing from 1 John 4 and Matthew 10, the message emphasizes that true love, or agape, is characterized by unwavering commitment to God's will, even when it leads to difficult choices and potential loss, contrasting it with a love rooted in fear and worldly approval. Ultimately, the speaker encourages listeners to trust in God's sustaining grace and to prioritize obedience to His Word above all else, recognizing that prioritizing God's truth, even at a cost, demonstrates a mature faith and avoids the torment of a compromised conscience.

The sermon explores the transformative power of mature, selfless love (agape) in overcoming fear, drawing heavily from 1 John 4:18-21. It argues that true love, empowered by the Holy Spirit, casts out terror and torment, contrasting it with a fear-based love rooted in self-interest or a desire for revenge. The message emphasizes the importance of submission to God's authority and biblical standards, rejecting a legalistic interpretation while advocating for a reverential fear and trust in God's justice, ultimately encouraging listeners to embrace a love that prioritizes prayer and forgiveness even amidst adversity and opposition.

What if your biggest fear is the one thing standing between you and the life you were meant to live? Fear is a liar. It whispers that you're not good enough, that you should wait, that failure is too risky. But what if I told you that fear is actually the roadmap to your next breakthrough? In this episode, I sit down with some of the most incredible minds—Tony Robbins, Rich Diviney, Jen Gottlieb, Colin O'Brady, Robin Sharma, John Assaraf, and James Lawrence—to break down how fear is shaping your decisions, holding you back, and how you can use it as fuel to push forward. Tony Robbins reveals how the media and external noise create unnecessary fear, and how the difference between fear and faith is simply the story we tell ourselves. Rich Diviney talks about resilience—not just bouncing back but coming back stronger—and shares the mindset shift that separates top performers from everyone else. Jen Gottlieb teaches how to put fear in the passenger seat and take control of your life, proving that when you face fear head-on, its power over you disappears. Colin O'Brady takes us through his incredible transformation from being told he'd never walk again to breaking world records by choosing courage over comfort. You'll also hear Robin Sharma explain why fear is the gateway to greatness, how we must “hug the monster” and realize that most of what we're afraid of is an illusion. John Assaraf lays out a step-by-step process to retrain your brain and turn fear into a tool for success. And James Lawrence, the Iron Cowboy, proves that the mind is more powerful than the body, walking us through his moments of absolute physical breakdown—and how he pushed through anyway. In this episode, you will learn: - How fear creates invisible barriers that are limiting your success - The difference between fear and intuition (and how to tell them apart) - Techniques to retrain your brain and use fear as fuel instead of a roadblock - Why resilience is more than just “bouncing back”—it's about becoming stronger - The power of pushing past your limits and discovering what you're truly capable of The truth is, you're not afraid of failure—you're afraid of what happens if you actually succeed. But let me remind you of something: you were born to do something great with your life. Don't let fear rob you of that. The world doesn't need a smaller version of you—it needs the real you, stepping up, playing full out, and living at the highest level. It's time to face your fears and conquer them once and for all.
