Our job can be littered with loneliness and it is an inherent challenge to fill the downtime that we have so much of. If you or anyone is suffering from any sort of depression or anxiety or just need to talk to someone, that can make monumental changes for the better. What's cookin everyone!Welcome BACK to the flight attendant forum! If you are new the flight attendant forum, I want to offer a very warm welcome to you as this is a platform for flight attendants, pilots and all crew within the aviation industry! However, this also serves as a travel community whether you are voracious traveler or just someone who wants to know a little behind the scenes about what it is like working for an airline! This weeks episode, I delve into the recent events that occurred on Horizon Air Flight 2059 regarding a pilot who was riding on the jump seat in the cockpit and all details entailed within. While this weeks episode is a solo episode, I wanted to shine spotlight not only on what the likely vibe was during this emergency, but to highlight the importance of mental health in a career field that is mostly spent away from home. Moreover, I will be teaming up with Megan in the future as well as other friends/colleagues of mine to dissect this further. For now, I wanted to simply open up the can of uncomfortable worms, so to speak, regarding mental health and the impact it can have on being a flight attendant/pilot. Thanks for listening as always!!Talk soonColin :)

Hello!Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum! Thank you ALL SO much for those who have downloaded and listened to the FFF up to this point as chapter X comes to you on this weeks installment!I do apologize for the delay I know it is Monday for the release of this episode, I am doing the best I can to stay around the Friday uploads so bare with me! For this weeks episode, I was in Seattle, Washington at the absolutely stunning Museum of Flight! A bucket list item for me, it was imperative that I connected with someone who would be willing to come on the show and discuss all things aviation! Fortunately, Ted Huetter answered the call and was a gracious guest as we dove into all things flight. Moreover, Ted discussed his love for flying, air acrobatics, and connecting with the community. The museum has long yearned for a way to connect with the people of Seattle and recently they have helped bring in myriad local artists to display their pieces throughout the museum as a way to show their talents. In addition, the museum has curated events from fashion shows, drag brunches, and weddings. It is truly a place that can create life long memories as planes take off and land on premise just a few feet away. Some highlights of the museum include the first Boeing 747 ever built, the 3rd 787 ever built, and one of the only last standing supersonic Concorde jets in existence to this day ( that was my favorite). Over the next couple of weeks I look forward to bringing more stories and tidbits to you from my flying partners. If you would like to be part of the show please please reach out! Don't be shy! You can find me on instagram which is where the crux of all things show related will take place! If you have any questions or topics you want me to over please do not hesitate to reach out! What is up!Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum! This week Nick and i (who you heard from in chapter V) are coming to you from the captivating landscape that is the Canary Islands, in southern Spain. We chose this as a destination to visit and couldn't have been more stoked on everything the beautiful island of Tenerife has to offer to its travelers. In addition, (as if this was a surprise) we chose to come here because as flight attendants you do indeed have the world at your disposal so while sometimes the last thing we want to do is get back on a plane and go somewhere, options like these make it a little more palatable. Nick and I spent time summarizing our trip to Tenerife, got sidetracked a couple times, and glossed over what it is like being a standby traveler (for those of you who have experienced it). While we wanted to keep recording time was unfortunately not on our side as we needed to prepare for our journey back. If you want to hear more of Nick and I in future episodes please let me know. Either way this will not be the last time Nick is on the forum! We had a great time recording this short stack episode and hope to bring you other unique perspectives from places that we are currently traveling within or have been in the future! You can follow the show too! (and nick)Instagram:@_faforum @notdotnickPlease reach out if you have any topics you want to hear in the future as well if you want to be on the show! Hello!Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!Hope you all have had a solid weekend thus far as chapter 6 comes to you next! This week I wanted to briefly highlight what its like starting out as a reserve flight attendant as well as "graduating" so to speak whenever you become a line holder throughout your career. I thought this would be a great opportunity to broadcast to people who are attempting to get this job and have always coveted becoming a flight attendant!Additionally, I highlight the pros and cons of each and discuss the nuances that you navigate as a flight attendant. Being five years in, I have definitely experienced the ups and the downs as flying on airplanes for a career is an honor but also very VERY tiring!(I know you can relate) We have attempted to best explain our schedules for friends/family in normal people terms so this episode encapsulates that for the next time you run into someone who is a flight attendant! Thanks so much for listening! Please leave any review or feedback you have after any episode you listen to, as it helps me curate a better forum and community for all of our flying faithful out there!Stay safe!
Hello!Welcome BACK to The Flight Attendant Forum!Apologies for the delay on uploading a new episode to the platform, July has been insane! Today's episode is an exciting one! Hello! Thanks so much for tuning into today's episode of The Flight Attendant Forum! Today. I cover the skinny on how flight attendants are compensated and what a yearly "salary" can look like from when you start out as a first year F/A, all the way until you hit your top out pay, or max hourly rate you can achieve at each airline. Moreover, this episode is a deep dive on whether becoming a flight attendant is right for you dependent on what your goals are. Additionally, do your research and see what is the right fit for you, thats what makes this job so great due to the abundance of carriers out there. I try my best to this and showcase the immense potential that can had if you manage to stick it out with your respective airline of choice throughout the years as the income is only going to go up in our current economy and real financial success can be achieved while blitzing around the world! If you want to be part of the conversation and get involved in the forum please leave a review or any feedback that you have! Hello! For those of you new the forum, welcome! My name is Colin and I am the host of the FFF! This week I wanted to take a deep dive into what qualities and skills that compose of a rock solid flight attendant. I have found that since I have been employed by my airline for five years that there were things that stuck out to me as I looked internally at the person I have become since I started this job. Moreover, I also highlighted some bullet points from the NY Times article that will be linked below from my/our perspective. Personally, five characteristics resonated with me it what the make up of a successful flight attendant feels like which are outlined in the episode. I would love to hear what yours are and how you have navigated your career whether you are brand new or an industry veteran. With summer travel at the doorstep, it should be nothing short of chaotic and exhausting so the forum is here to air all grievances and be a place of respite throughout the summer season! If you want to be part of the conversation and get involved in the forum please leave a review and some feedback, I would greatly appreciate it as I get the forum off the ground. Have comments or questions you want answered you can reach me at the following:Facebook: Colin ScottThanks so much and enjoy! https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/24/travel/summer-travel-etiquette.html

This is the introductory episode where i gloss over who I am, where I came from, and how (in a nutshell) became a flight attendant. I apologize if I find myself talking in circles!! I promise that once I am able to cultivate a more fluid, guest forward conversation it will be a much better listen, as no one wants to hear me talk by myself for an extended period of time! With that being said, welcome to everyone and thank you for taking the time to listen and wanting to be a part of this amazing collaborative project. I hope to have many of you share your knowledge, awesome life stories, and hilariously rich work stories as well. So much to talk about and so much to say, can't wait to get started and create a platform for everyone to share as we move into the future of travel and aviation!Cheers!
