"Can I Stop Ozempic / Zepbound After Successful Weight Loss? " Introduction Dr. Ali Novitsky, your favorite obesity medicine expert and fitness guru, welcomes listeners back for the conclusion of her third and final part of the GLP-1 series. She offers a deep dive into evidence-based information in a world often clouded by misinformation surrounding coming off of the GLP1 obesity meds. Main Topic: Can You Come Off a GLP-1 Agonist? One of the most frequent questions Dr. Novitsky receives is whether it's possible to discontinue a GLP-1 agonist after achieving weight loss success. Does starting this medication mean a lifelong commitment? The answer is nuanced, and today's discussion takes a closer look at the factors involved. Addressing the Fear Dr. Novitsky acknowledges the fear many people have about starting a GLP-1 agonist, particularly concerns over lifelong use and potential side effects such as gastroparesis, cancer risks, and pancreatitis. She also addresses the stigma associated with these medications, often dismissed as “the easy way out” or a “quick fix.” The Role of Medication Medication, she explains, is simply a tool to level the metabolic playing field. Those who benefit from GLP-1 agonists still put in considerable effort with nutrition, exercise, behavioral management, and emotional work. For some, lifelong use may be necessary, while others might be able to discontinue the medication over time. Obesity and Medication Dr. Novitsky reminds listeners that obesity is a disease influenced heavily by genetics. Despite over half of the U.S. population meeting the criteria for obesity, only 4% are treated with medication. Public perceptions, often shaped by media focus on celebrity usage, can perpetuate the false notion that these medications are just a "quick fix". Coming Off the Medication Dr. Novitsky explains that individuals who reach their target weight and sustain it for approximately a year may consider trialing off the medication. However, certain conditions, such as PCOS, may require ongoing low-dose use to maintain results. With two unprecedented moves in the bye week, as the Seahawks started center retired and their leading tackler was waived, this felt like a pivotal moment in Coach Mike Macdonald's young coaching career. The offense shows some improvement and the defense stepped up in a big way against the Niners offense. Brock Purdy was limited to one of the lowest totals of passing yards in his career and Christian McCaffrey was held relatively in check. It all set up for Geno Smith to pick up another "stat" in the closing moments of the game. Looking for more Seahawks shows? Coming Off the Trump Bump Sugar-High, Fed Chatter & A Market Pullback In this week's episode, the Money Wise guys discuss a market pullback as we come down from the “Trump Bump”, what the Fed is saying about interest rates, and the animal spirits of capitalism. First, let's look at last week's numbers from Wall Street, which saw the Dow down 1.2%, the S&P 500 down 2.1%, and the NASDAQ down 3.1%. YTD we're still in the black, with the Dow up 15.3%, the S&P up 23.1%, and the NASDAQ up 24.4%. Was it an attack of the Fed last week? The Money Wise guys discuss how remarks from a current and former Fed Governor impacted the markets last week, as well as why it's not surprising to have a market pullback as investors come down from the post-election sugar high. They also discuss the wisdom of using a market pullback as a buying opportunity, even at high valuations. We saw some market-friendly numbers released last week with regard to inflation, and the Money Wise guys also discuss what we might expect in 2025, though much is still speculation. What is a Market Pullback? Let's review the basics of a market pullback since we experienced one last week. A market pullback refers to a brief decline or pause in a generally upward market trend. Investors who are confident the pullback will be brief may use it as a buying opportunity, as the Money Wise guys discuss in this episode. To learn more about what a market pullback means, check out this resource. In the second hour, the Money Wise guys pull back the curtain to share What Wall Street Won't Tell You. You don't want to miss the details! Tune in for the full discussion on your favorite podcast provider or at davidsoncap.com, where you can also learn more about the Money Wise guys or take advantage of a portfolio review and analysis with Davidson Capital Management.

Today's show opens with NYC Mayor Eric Adams saying Trump is not a fascist and that kind of rhetoric needs to stop. We then look at President Joe Biden who dropped the Mother of all Trash Bombs on a video call yesterday evening. While the Left has been melting down, fabricating what a roast comedian said at the rally in Madison Square Garden, the President of the United States said all Trump followers are trash. And, to cover it up, they not only changed the official White House transcript, which is a clear violation of the Presidential Records Act, but also the Left is twisting itself into pretzels to tell us it was nothing. In the meantime, at a rally in Allentown yesterday, just after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) dropped the news of Biden's gaffe, a senator from Puerto Rico endorsed Trump and asked for all Latinos to join her in that support. Tim “Elmer Fudd” Walz, a known serial liar, just lied when he said people who know him know he is not a serial liar. You cannot make this stuff up. VP Harris was asked, AGAIN, to explain why she would be better for the economy than Donald Trump and AGAIN she told us about being raised as a middle class kid by a working mother. Since Kamala Harris still cannot answer any questions and cannot explain anything of her past four years, we turn to comedian and satirist Jim Gossett to give us his thoughts on that, using the music of Warren Zevon and a play on Werewolves of London. Colorado's Secretary of State is in a bit of hot water. It seems she leaked the 600 BIOS passwords to their Dominion voting machines out via her website. It seems Jena Griswold, who was last in the news for thinking she could unilaterally remove Donald Trump's name from the ballot, is now trying to explain how those passwords were posted on her website. Dr. Jay Bhattacharya breaks down a recent report form the House of Representatives on HHS's Covid propaganda. It's a devastating report, which means you likely did not hear a whole lot about it. Finally, while all of you in this audience have known the Hunter Biden laptop was real and that the FBI, DOJ and the IRS also have known it was real, independent investigative journalist Catherine Herridge is just now uncovering this same truth on her own show. She also confirmed that the “Big Guy” was Joe Biden and everyone knew it. Once again, this audience has been well ahead of that curve for a very long time.
