Clover Hogan has been on the planet 20 years, and spent the past 10 working to save it. She believes it’s possible. She also believes that the threat even greater than climate change is our feeling of powerlessness in the face of it. In this podcast, Clover sits down with the people who are leading the charge: from the woman who started a global movement out of her backyard; to the lawyer responsible for the world’s most historic climate agreement; and a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Listen to this podcast if you’re anxious that the future will be a dystopian blockbuster. If you know the solution is bigger than buying another reusable coffee cup. And if you want to make a difference but don’t know where to start. This is your crash course in becoming a Force of Nature.

Back then rules for bears were pretty lax, to say the least. Tourists would come from all over to watch grizzlies battle for the best garbage. From when the park was founded in 1910 there had never been a fatal grizzly attack. But on one fateful night it all changes... There are two different grizzly bear attacks just hours apart and a few miles away, both from different bears, and both lead to the death of two 19 year old women. Its a crazy story.  We also learn a bit about Glacier National Park and 1967. This is only part one... They can cause great environmental and economic harm to the new area.  To be invasive, a species must adapt to the new area easily.  It must reproduce quickly.  It must harm property, the economy or native plants and animals of the region.  Many invasive species are introduced to a new region accidentally, while others are brought on purpose.     1st Story- Japanese Murder Hornets in North America 2nd Story- Pablo Escobar's Cocaine Hippos 3rd Story- Snakes Take Over Guam 4th Story- Pesky Rabbits in Australia 5th Story- Carpocalypse    Skarping video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqykDINEcGo&t=88s Vice documentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnZp1jtOhR0&t=724s If you would like to give a donation you can on PayPal at either Forceofnaturepod@gmail.com or simply forceofnaturepod On Venmo is my personal account at Matthew-Hamilton-51  We would appreciate any donations very much and we will give shout outs to anyone that does. This week we look into the giants of the sea... whales.  We go over three specific badass whale species; the beluga whale, the narwhal and the poorly named sperm whale.  All of these whales are one of two types of whales, these are members of the toothed whales.  The other type are baleen whales, which we will go over next week.  Did you know that killer whales (orcas) are actually dolphins not whales.  The sperm whale has a reason for its odd name and it involves something you would never have thought of.  The sperm whale is also the same type of whale as Moby Dick.  Lots to learn on this whale of a tale.    Narwhal song credits https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/484667 Dave's voice on Nantucket video game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofc1cpaY9OA Beluga whale plays fetch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ3sAIEg6OY If you would like to give a donation you can on PayPal at either Forceofnaturepod@gmail.com or simply forceofnaturepod On Venmo is my personal account at Matthew-Hamilton-51  We would appreciate any donations very much and we will give shout outs to anyone that does.
