"Originating from the ghosts of urban interactions, the field recording was completely taken apart. Fragments were stretched and reshaped into drones, others reduced to abstract one-shots that sit somewhere between percussion and texture."Everything was composed and arranged in Ableton Live 12 with Push 3, and built entirely on instinct. No plan, no concept, just chasing what sounded right until the piece came together. The result sits in dark, dubby territory, with an edge of spiky fuzz that reflects the source material more than any deliberate decision."Bremen bridge soundscape reimagined by Alistair Petersen.

We eat over 50 billion burgers a year. Originating in Hamburg Germany, the hamburger as we know it was developed in Seymour, Wisconsin, a town still famous for its hamburger heroics. In 1842, American newspapers began mentioning "Hamburg steak," a seasoned, hand-minced beef patty associated with German sailors and immigrants, served as a standalone meat dish rather than a sandwich. By 1896, a Chicago Tribune article makes a reference to the growing popularity of the 'hamburger sandwich' amongst rail commuters. Unlike many popular dishes where you just get what you get, a hamburger can be designed and created for the person who is eating it. In a strange way, a hamburger resembles an edible art form.
In this episode of the podcast, hosts Dom and Jay sit down with Jane and Shell from Autech Canada to discuss the fascinating world of automated sushi machines. Originating from the engineers at Audio-Technical in Japan—yes, the same company famous for headphones and DJ turntables—Autech has brought incredibly precise sushi-making technology to the Canadian market. We dive deep into their flagship model, the ASM-E-95, an unbelievable "rice sheet printer" capable of pumping out a wild 1,300 perfect rice sheets per hour. What we discuss in this episode:The Origin Story: How a special equipment division at an audio company ended up making a manual prototype featured in the 1987 movie Wall Street. Debunking the Automation Myth: Why automated machinery isn't taking away high-end culinary jobs, but rather freeing up chefs to focus on creative menu curation and artistry. Solving the Labor Crunch: How a single machine can save a restaurant "half a person" in labor costs and remove the intense stress of finding specialized, traditionally trained labor. Unexpected Markets: Why non-traditional venues like high-end steakhouses are suddenly installing sushi machines to diversify their appetizer menus. Sanitation & Safety: The hidden logistical victory of temperature-controlled, easily cleanable, NSF-certified machinery in modern kitchens. Whether you operate a traditional Japanese eatery or a steakhouse looking to safely inject fresh, high-margin ideas into your kitchen, this episode breaks down why commercial automation is a game-changer.

For nearly two million years, humans lived as mobile hunters and gatherers. Around 15,000 years ago, communities in the Fertile Crescent began to settle, and by 10,000 years ago, agriculture emerged. The first cities and states emerged around 5,000 years ago. Originating in the Middle East and later spreading worldwide, this transformation reshaped human societies. This talk examines how and why humans made this shift—and asks whether the rise of civilization ultimately improved human well-being. Speaker Robert Allen, Global Distinguished Professor of Economic History, NYUAD

A Forest Of Whispering Speakers - The BookTwo writers. Ten years of trust. One Tragically Hip catalogue. Episode two is the story of how the book got written without flattening the band.Episode SummaryA Forest Of Whispering Speakers is the oral history of the Theatre Aquarius world premiere of It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken, the new musical built on the music of The Tragically Hip. Act II: The Book is the writers' room episode — how an exile's journey gets shaped into a story, and how Hip songs become the emotional grammar of that story without ever turning it into a band biography or a jukebox musical.Host jD sits down with co-writers Ahmed Moneka and Jesse LaVercombe, with producer Michael Rubinoff and Tragically Hip manager Jake Gold stepping in to frame the bigger picture. The episode opens at a campfire in Prince Edward County in 2015, traces the ten-year partnership that built King Gilgamesh and the Man of the Wild at Soulpepper, and lands on the two different doors each writer walked through to find The Hip — one across a bridge in Bobcaygeon, the other watching Gord say goodbye from south of the border.Inside the episode: the load-bearing wall of a decade-long friendship, the yin-yang of Ahmed's exile and Jesse's grief, a Thornton Wilder quote about platitudes, and a working theory that 700 people in a theatre cannot lie to you at once.Guest InfoAhmed Moneka (Toronto, via Baghdad) — Co-writer of It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken. In mid-April, President Trump issued an executive order to set aside funding and loosen the bureaucratic process at the FDA to fast-track psychedelic therapy research. One obscure psychedelic got a particularly bright spotlight: ibogaine. Originating from the root bark of the iboga plant of central Africa, the psychedelic has shown promise for curbing opioid addiction and treating PTSD. But it also can be risky to take, and hasn't made it to the medical mainstream like psilocybin or ketamine. So what's the story with this drug? Joining Host Flora Lichtman to talk about its history is neurologist and pharmacologist Deborah Mash, who secured the first FDA approval for clinical trials involving ibogaine in the 1990s. And to tell us how it fits in with the growing interest in medical psychedelics is Jane Hu, journalist for The Microdose newsletter. (Disclosure: Deborah Mash is founder and CEO of a company that's developing a therapeutic drug based on ibogaine.) Guests: Jane C. Hu is a journalist for the psychedelic science newsletter The Microdose, based in Seattle, WA. Dr. Deborah Mash is professor emeritus of neurology and molecular and cellular pharmacology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She is the also founder and CEO of DemeRx. Originating in Chicago in 1914, the movement known as “Baby Week” sought to raise awareness of the high infant mortality rate in the U.S. and to educate young mothers and girls about early childcare. Researchers from the Children's Bureau estimated the infant mortality rate in the U.S. at nearly one in ten in the 1910s. National attention fastened on the issue, and Baby Week was born.

Send us Fan MailCraig Fort stops by the show to discuss, music sobriety, inspiration and more. ***Lightning Stills isn't an album detailing the evils of alcohol. Instead, it's life stories while still in the moment. “I started this project as a way to keep me occupied and help me through getting sober,” vocalist/guitarist Craig Fort of Omaha's reigning outlaw country band explains.Aside from the obvious health benefits of quitting the sauce, his reason for quitting was far more personal. “Ultimately, I got sober for my family,” he confesses. “Once I had my first son, I started trying to stay away from the bar except for playing shows. My drinking stuck with me though and eventually took over. I realized I needed to get some help or my boys weren't gonna have a father anymore.”Though he has sworn off alcohol, the offending substance flows freely figuratively throughout the band's makeup. “The band name ‘Lightning Stills' is a character I created - a reference to white lightning moonshine stills,” Craig explains, about the eponymously named alter-ego, a rhinestone cowboy in the vein of Waylon Jennings and Johnny Paycheck. “Lightning Stills” alludes to the clear high proof, unaged corn whiskey that is made in a ‘moonshine' still. “When I first started, the ‘Lightning Stills' character was a bootlegger. I have some history of that in my family and that lifestyle appealed to me I guess. Even off the sauce I feel like I'm still trying to find the right potency for my brew,” he laughs.Lightning Stills is a venerated cast of Omaha musicians - a who's who of local artists of varying genres, all unified in a love for pure and unadulterated Outlaw Country. Originating in 2020, Craig (a hardcore, metal, and garage mainstay whose leads the post-rock mainstays Leafblower) first formulated the band with Omaha music icon and multi-instrumentalist Mike Friedman who had been playing country for decades. Pulling into their magnetic orbit a “good-timing odd bunch” that features guitarist Tom May, bassist Dan Maxwell, and drummer Javid Thunders, Lightning Stills was born. “We're a real sundry assortment,” he says. “Dan and I have been playing together in various projects for 15 years. The other fellas have played in folk, indie, garage, metal, etc. That's one thing that's always been nice in my experience about Omaha. You can have a bill with hip hop/metal/country, and everyone that comes out are friends and possibly play in other projects with each other as well.”Deciding it was time to record a full record after releasing a handful of tracks in 2020 and 2021, the self-titled debut started taking shape, and a caboodle of punk-infused Outlaw Country was born. “Coming from a small town, I grew up with the outlaws and ‘90s popular country that I couldn't escape,” he concludes. “My grandpa played in a country band. So in a sense, Lightning Stills is still just me playing music with my buds. We just aren't playing as loud.”****If you would like to contact the show Dauna@betertopodcast.comFollow us on Social MediaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX0ETs2wpOHbCuhUNr0XFTw?view_as=subscriberInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomSupport the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedom©2026 Better To...Podcast with D. Join Here: https://ow.ly/msoH50WCu0KIn this segment, Analytic Dreamz delivers a detailed breakdown of Grupo Firme's latest release, “Cabrón y Medio.” Originating from Tijuana, Baja California, and founded in 2014 with Sinaloa native Eduin Caz as frontman, the group has built a major career through independent roots before signing with Music VIP. Known for the breakout hit “Ya Supérame,” they became the first banda act to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, performed at Coachella, and pioneered regional Mexican stadium tours in the U.S., with past singles earning between 100 million and over 900 million Spotify streams.Released on April 2, 2026, via Music VIP and Virgin Music Group, “Cabrón y Medio” marks Grupo Firme's first-ever mariachi single — a significant stylistic shift from their signature brass-heavy, fast-paced banda sound. Produced by Joss Favela and Ricardo Orrantía, the track features traditional mariachi instrumentation including violins, guitars, vihuela, and guitarrón. The music video, directed by Mane Borja, shows Eduin Caz in charro attire and presents a broken-family narrative centered on post-breakup regret and emotional vulnerability. Key lyrical themes explore reflection on lost love and the way alcohol blurs memory versus reality, delivering a more introspective tone compared to the group's typical party-driven catalog.Early performance metrics show strong initial traction with approximately 48,000 YouTube views within hours of upload and simultaneous availability across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The release follows a digital-first rollout strategy similar to pandemic-era successes, supported by a Billboard exclusive premiere, emerging TikTok clips, YouTube Shorts, and social virality. This aligns with the proven growth pattern of Grupo Firme's previous viral hits.Strategically, “Cabrón y Medio” represents a major artistic pivot that expands the group's reach beyond core banda playlists into new mariachi territory, adding cross-genre credibility while maintaining authenticity through established producers. It differentiates from their party anthems by leaning into emotion-driven storytelling and supports the ongoing “La Última Peda Tour” across South and Central America. As the first solo release of 2026, it follows high-profile collaborations with artists including Gloria Trevi, Grupo Frontera, Luis Alfonso Partida, and Lenin Ramírez. This segment positions “Cabrón y Medio” as a calculated evolution rather than immediate chart dominance. With modest but structurally strong early signals, the track is set for delayed viral growth through the TikTok-to-streaming-to-chart pipeline that has defined Grupo Firme's biggest successes. Analytic Dreamz examines how this release reinforces the group's longevity and expands their genre identity in regional Mexican music.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

This is an extended version of the previously uploaded recording of the Bon pointers (Remain Like the Sky). It allows for more spaces between each profound pointing and thus offers a longer and potentially deeper meditation.Excerpts have been taken from the text 'Masters of the Zhang Zhung Nyendyud' - the Experiential Transmission of Bönpo Dzogchen. The text contains the heart teachings of ancient Bönpo Dzogchen Masters, translated and commented on by Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, the current holder of this unique lineage. The Yungdrung Bön (Bön) Lineage tradition is one of the oldest indigenous spiritual traditions in the world. Originating in Central Asia with Tongpa Shenrap Miwoche (considered by tradition to be a full Buddha), the Bön Lineage teachings have been transmitted unbroken from teacher to student for over 17,000 years. This profound and uninterrupted transmission through generations has ensured the preservation and vitality of the Bön tradition, teachings and practices across millennia.Often referred to as Tibetan Bön Buddhism, Bön Lineage teachings share many similarities with Tibetan Buddhism yet maintain unique traditions, texts, rituals and practices intent on cultivating openness of heart, purification of obscurations and direct realisation of primordial awareness.

In this encore episode of The Backyard Naturalists, Debbie and Laurie revisit their inspiring conversation with certified forest therapy guide and author Melanie Choukas-Bradley to explore the healing power of forest bathing, also known as shinrin-yoku. Originating in Japan in the 1980s, this mindful practice invites us to slow down, unplug, and fully immerse ourselves in the sights, sounds, scents, and textures of the natural world. Melanie shares the fascinating science behind forest bathing—including research showing it can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost immune function, and improve sleep—while reminding us that connecting with nature is both simple and accessible. Together, they discuss how even urban areas like Washington, D.C. offer abundant opportunities for meaningful time outdoors, and how parks, greenways, and even your own backyard can become spaces for restoration. You'll learn what to expect on a guided forest bathing walk, how to practice on your own, and why regular time in nature can transform your overall well-being. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just beginning to explore mindful time outdoors, this episode will inspire you to step outside, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the living world around you. Welcome to Day 2791 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom – Theology Thursday – Arianism: The Heresy That Shook an Empire and Hastened Rome's Fall Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2791 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2791 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Our current series of Theology Thursday lessons is written by theologian and teacher John Daniels. I have found that his lessons are short, easy to understand, doctrinally sound, and applicable to all who desire to learn more of God's Word. John's lessons can be found on his website theologyinfive.com. Today's lesson is titled Arianism: The Heresy That Shook an Empire and Hastened Rome's Fall. Arianism was more than a theological dispute; it became a force that rattled the foundations of the Roman Empire. Originating with the Alexandrian priest Arius (AD 250–336), the doctrine asserted that the Son, Jesus Christ, was a created being and therefore not co-eternal with the Father. This challenged the traditional Christian understanding of Jesus' divinity and ignited a controversy that tore through the Church and empire alike. By the time of Constantine in the early 4th century, Christianity had been legalized and heavily promoted, though not yet made the official religion of Rome. Constantine's patronage brought Christianity into the center of imperial life, and his calling of the Council of Nicaea in 325 demonstrated just how closely church and empire were becoming linked. Yet the settlement of Nicaea did not resolve the issue. The Arian controversy lingered, splitting bishops, congregations, and emperors. What began as a debate over the Trinity soon spiraled into a crisis that divided the empire at its core. As Arianism spread, particularly among the Germanic tribes who would later overrun the Western Empire, the theological rift turned into a political fault line. In this way, a doctrinal battle over Christ's divinity became bound up with the very fate of Rome itself. The first segment is: Why Arianism Was Declared a Heresy The Church declared Arianism a heresy at the First Council of Nicaea in AD 325. The fundamental issue revolved around the nature and divinity of Jesus Christ. While Arius believed Jesus was a creation—albeit the highest of all creations—the Church upheld that Jesus was uncreated, co-eternal, and co-equal with the Father. Scripture played a decisive role in the dispute. John 1:1 states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This verse affirms the divinity of Jesus, describing Him as the Word who both existed at the beginning and was God Himself. Colossians 1:16 likewise insists on Christ's active role in creation: “For by him [Jesus] all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” Such passages undermine the Arian claim that Jesus Himself was a creation. The second segment is: Arianism and the Fall of Rome...

Send us a textHow industrial farming, seed oils, soy, and pesticides impact food nutrition and health. Not medical advice.TOPICS DISCUSSED:Soy's rise in farming: Originating from paint uses and wartime chemicals, soy became dominant due to subsidies and large-scale farming practices, but introduces high PUFAs, phytoestrogens, and pesticides into animal feeds.Feed's impact on eggs: Chicken feeds high in soy and corn raise linoleic acid levels in eggs compared to low-soy alternatives; low-PUFA eggs improve digestibility for many.PUFAs & health effects: Feeding PUFAs fattens animals faster and disrupts human gut lining and metabolism; body fat composition changes take time, linking to chronic issues like low energy.Phytoestrogens in soy: These compounds pass into animal products, affecting estrogen signaling and gut health; mainstream nutrition often overlooks their risks despite historical low exposure.Dairy variations: Raw milk retains lactoferrin for iron regulation and gut support, plus enzymes and probiotics destroyed in pasteurization; it may resolve dairy intolerances for some.Regenerative farming model: Armstrong's cooperative emphasizes traditional feeds to “resaturate” foods, reducing PUFAs; supports small farms amid declining farm numbers.Ancestral diets insight: Traditional diets vary but share low PUFA levels, avoiding modern chronic illnesses tied to industrial fats.ABOUT THE GUEST: Ashley Armstrong, PhD co-founded Angel Acres Farm in Michigan and now runs Nourish Food Club, a cooperative of small farms producing low-PUFA, soy-free animal foods.RELATED EPISODE:M&M 273: Nutrition Content of Animal & Plant Foods: Beef, Plant-Based Meat, Raw vs. Processed MilkSupport the showHealth Products by M&M Partners: SporesMD: Premium mushrooms products (gourmet mushrooms, nootropics, research). SKOL Search: In-Depth Analysis of LSU Cornerback Mansoor Delane for 2026 NFL Draft — In this episode of SKOL Search, hosted by Tyler Forness from The Real Forno Show, the focus is on evaluating LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane as a potential prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft. Originating from Virginia Tech, Delane made a significant transfer to LSU and has showcased impressive skills in man coverage. Highlighting his performance against Clemson where he allowed only one catch on eight targets, the analysis emphasizes his fluid hip movement, patience, and ability to attack the football. While not the fastest, Delaine's intelligence and instincts set him apart, although concerns about his occasional flat-footedness in coverage are noted. The episode concludes with a discussion on his draft stock, suggesting a late first-round pick could be ideal for the Vikings. 00:00 Introduction to SKOL Search 00:22 Spotlight on Mansoor Delane 00:43 Delane's Transfer and LSU Impact 01:24 Impressive Performance Against Clemson 02:05 Analyzing Delaney's Skills and Techniques 07:25 Concerns and Areas for Improvement 09:52 Draft Prospects and Final Thoughts 11:02 Conclusion and Community Engagement ____________________________________________________________ ⭐️ Subscribe to us here! - https://www.youtube.com/@vikings1stskol92 ⭐️ Our Twitter can be found at @Vikings1stSKOL ⭐️ Our Discord at https://discord.com/invite/493z6mQXcN ⭐️ Tyler Forness can be read at A to Z Sports - https://atozsports.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings-news/ ⭐️ Submit questions: forms.gle/7LJkCAern9kdUkuD8 ⭐️ On Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/vikings1standskol ⭐️ Watch the live show here: https://youtu.be/8li0kP0ocbI Fan With Us!!!
