Accidents happen. Some are worse than others. For a creative, a total computer crash is not great—especially when under a heavy deadline. Scott & A talk about how we dealt with it during the final weeks of Scott's active deadline for SLAY. What plans and procedures did we already have in place that let us keep writing? What did we miss that hurt us? What should you do to protect your priceless work? Pro tip: no matter how you back up — be sure to back up. Even just a flash drive separate from your computer can help. — Slices is created by Scott Sigler and A B Kovacs — Produced by Steve Riekeberg — Production Assistance by Allie Press — Copyright 2026 by Empty Set Entertainment Never give up, never surrender And never spill coffee on your laptop if you can help it. Sermon Outline: "On My Father's Side" Preacher: Pastor Lemuel Miller (Guest Speaker / Advisory Board Member) Location: Church of the Harvest I. Introduction: The Temple and the Root Causes of Sickness The Caleb Spirit: At nearly 74 years old, Pastor Lemuel shares his experience winning a silver medal at the national arm wrestling championship, emphasizing that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). We must actively care for our physical templates so that the Holy Ghost is not "living in a garage or a shed." Commanding Prayers vs. Begging: In his book Prayers for Healing, Pastor Lemuel explains that many believers stay in ignorance, begging God for things He has already accomplished. Spiritual maturity requires switching from begging prayers to authoritative, commanding prayers. Uprooting Sickness: True physical restoration requires looking past the surface pain and identifying the structural root causes of diseases. Migraine Headaches: Often rooted in trauma and bitterness. Kidney Disease: Rooted in deep unforgiveness, bitterness, fear, and self-rejection. Leukemia: Often linked to bitterness and paternal rejection. Lupus: Can stem from deep-seated guilt, self-hatred, and low self-esteem. II. Point 1: Understanding Jesus as a 100% Human Example The Human Dependency: Reading from John 5:19, Jesus explicitly declares that the Son can do absolutely nothing of Himself except what He sees the Father do. Many Christians incorrectly attribute Jesus' earthly miracles to His inherent divinity, forgetting that He stripped Himself of that privilege to come as a 100% vulnerable human baby. The Earthly Blueprint: Jesus had to fully depend on human care and look directly to His Heavenly Father for supernatural strength. By doing this, He serves as a complete human blueprint for how we are meant to walk out authority on Earth. III. Point 2: The Full Meaning of Salvation (Sozo) Fire Insurance vs. Full Rights: Most modern believers view being "saved" purely as a post-death ticket to Heaven to avoid Hell. The Greek Meaning: In Matthew 1:21, the term for save is the Greek word Sozo. When properly translated, it means you are actively rescued from: Accidents, injuries, physical harm, and structural danger. Destruction, risk, peril, loss, and premature/untimely death. Sickness, chronic disease, physical infirmity, and generational curses. The Transacted Benefits: True Sozo simultaneously grants the believer legal rights to divine prosperity, total deliverance from addictions, inner strength, structural healing, and operational wholeness. IV. Point 3: The Conversation in the Temple (The Two Sides) Using a vivid exploration of Luke 2:47, Pastor Lemuel illustrates the 12-year-old Jesus sitting among the elite rabbis and theologians, contrasting His dual lineage: On My Mother's Side: Born into natural law, generational trauma, human limitations, fear, hunger, thirst, trouble, and the lingering curse of sin. On My Father's Side: Formed in supernatural law, eternal life, and generational blessings. The Supernatural Exchange: * Hungry/Thirsty: On His mother's side, He fasts; on His Father's side, He is the Bread of Life and a well that never runs dry. Natural Law: His mother's side is bound to gravity; His Father sits upon the flood (Psalm 29:10)—and a Father who sits on the flood raises a Son who walks on water. Surrounding Defense: On His Father's side, He is covered by feathers and wings (Psalm 91:4), meaning His truth functions as a structural shield, buckler, and surrounding defense against the snare of the fowler. Age and Identity: On His mother's side, He is a 12-year-old from Nazareth; on His Father's side, He is the Ancient of Days, Alpha and Omega, the Architect of the Universe, and the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. V. Point 4: Operating in Dunamis Power The Age of Public Service: In Hebrew culture, a priest could not step into public high-priestly service until age 30. Accordingly, Jesus did not perform public miracles until reaching this baseline. The Necessity of Anointing: Acts 10:38 states that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power. If Jesus was operating strictly as God, He wouldn't require an anointing or a companion. He operated as an anointed human being. Miraculous Power (Dunamis): When the Holy Ghost fills a believer, they receive Dunamis power—the explosive, dynamic, and supernatural capacity to perform miracles. Rebuking the Root: When dealing with demonic possession (Acts 16), Peter's mother-in-law's fever (Luke 4), or the raging sea (Mark 4), Jesus always used sharp, severe, and authoritative rebukes (epitimao). In the storm, He did not rebuke the water; He rebuked the wind—the structural root cause of the problem. VI. Conclusion: Activating Faith vs. Waiting The Whip Post Transaction: Based on Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Paragraph 2:24, our healing is already completely provided in the past tense ("by whose stripes you were healed"). Healing was legally settled at the whipping post, not two years from now. Faith is Practical Action: Believers fail to receive because they allow passive doubt to eat their seed of faith. Like the ten lepers in Luke 17, their structural healing manifested on the way because they actively moved in obedience to Jesus' command. Healing vs. Wholeness: While nine lepers were cleansed (cured of the disease), the Samaritan leper who turned back to worship Jesus was made whole (Sozo). Healing cures the virus; wholeness creatively restores every limb, finger, or piece of flesh that was eaten away or missing. Jerry spoke to Damien Hannigan of the Irish Deer Commission. 11% of reported cases where a vehicle was damaged but no one was injured, after hitting or swerving to avoid a deer, were in Kerry. The director of research at the Road Safety Authority Michael Rowland said seven years of Garda collision data had been assessed to determine the prevalence of deer-related collisions on our roads.
In this inspiring episode of the BLACKRAPID Podcast, host Ron Henry sits down with visual storyteller Zai (@zaitoldme) — a fine-art photographer and cinematographer whose work blends raw emotion, cultural truth, and beautiful accidents. Zai shares how he broke into the art world the old-fashioned way — with hustle. He took his photos, printed them, and walked around events like Art Basel with his work in hand. That same hustle and authenticity still defines everything he creates today. https://youtu.be/yKJUE0Fo498 He opens up about his legendary 4-month cross-country project documenting a runner, where he learned to embrace "beautiful accidents," stay flexible, and let the images speak for themselves. He also reveals his ambitious 6-year Hair Project — a sweeping body of work exploring Black American hair history from the 16th century to today. The project serves as both a living history book and a powerful call to support the Crown Act (2022 legislation that protects Black and brown people from discrimination based on their natural hair textures in schools, workplaces, and public spaces). Zai shares deeply personal stories: growing up in Texas barber shops where hair was celebrated and transformative ("leaving feeling like kings") versus being asked to cut his hair or leave environments because it "didn't fit the box America wanted to put us in." We also dive into: His early project "Black Boys Lie" (inspired by Kendrick Lamar's "Black Boy Fly") and why storytelling gives people a glimpse of hope Transitioning from film to stills and the unexpected lessons weddings taught him Documentary work, voiceover narration, and the boxing project His black-and-white photography that makes images feel rather than just look beautiful The spiritual foundation behind his art — power of attraction, frequencies, and staying connected to a higher vibration Why independent artists are thriving right now and how to own your style without copying anyone If you're a photographer, filmmaker, or creative who believes in authentic storytelling, cultural impact, and doing things your own way, this conversation will move you.
In this one, I talk to Ashley Saupe. She's the host of the Sharp End Podcast, a show built around firsthand accounts of accidents, near misses, survival, and the complicated psychology of risk in the outdoors. But before she started the podcast, she was studying the mistakes of others, reading Accidents in North American Climbing, an annual publication by the American Alpine Club that documents climbing incidents, what went wrong, and the lessons people take away from them. She became fascinated not by triumphs or summit photos, but by the thin line between routine and disaster—the small decisions, overlooked details, and human tendencies that can shift a situation toward danger. Eventually, she began to think: someone should turn these stories into a podcast. That idea became The Sharp End. For more than eleven years, she's been listening to people recount moments when things fell apart, and in the process her own relationship to climbing, risk, and the outdoors has changed. In her twenties and early thirties, she was more concerned with reaching the summit, but now, as she nears 40, she's learned to enjoy the journey. These days, success means facilitating wilderness experiences for other people and getting down safely. She's less interested in collecting accomplishments than she is in what the outdoors reveal about fear, ego, vulnerability, and identity. Now, she often spends time alone in the backcountry, where the silence and isolation force her to confront these things directly. She says time slows down in the mountains, that survival depends on paying attention: listening to your body, the weather, your partner, the rock in front of you. That way of moving through the outdoors has also shaped the way she thinks about Alaska, how it's scale and mythology often distorts people's judgment and can lead to a dangerous kind of confidence. Many people refer to this as “The Alaska Factor.”

In Part 3 of this three-part UNCENSORED legal series, host Marién Sarriera is joined again by maritime lawyer and former seafarer Adria Notari for a practical conversation about legal protection after accidents, deaths, suicide, serious injuries, and unsafe situations at sea. This final episode focuses on when crew members or families should contact a lawyer, why early legal advice matters, and how to choose the right maritime attorney. Adria explains why flag state is not always the final answer, how flags of convenience can complicate legal claims, and why crew should understand the role of SEA agreements, owners, employers, and insurance companies. The conversation also covers legal deadlines, disclosure traps, cumulative trauma, repetitive injuries, reporting unsafe working conditions, and the damaging myth that nothing can be done once something goes wrong. For yacht crew, seafarers, families, and anyone working in the maritime industry, this episode is about understanding your rights before you need them.Guest: Adria NotariWebsite: notarilaw.com━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SUPPORTED BY Moore Dixon ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Medical insurance designed for yacht crew, with global cover for emergencies, routine care, and support when it matters most.mdbl.imFacebook: @MDBLimitedLinkedIn: @moore-dixon-brokersPrefer to read?

Hébergé par Acast. https://jo.my/wdfmdhAvoiding Floor Blindness and Equipment AccidentsRoutine is a silent killer in any industrial facility. You walk the same paths every single day. You see the same racks and the same equipment. Eventually, your brain starts to tune out the small details. You stop seeing the forklift at the end of the aisle. You ignore the backup alarm. This is floor blindness. It's a trick your mind plays on you. One of the top priorities of a solid Safety Culture is breaking that cycle to keep everyone whole.Staying alert isn't just about following a handbook. It's about looking out for your friends and making sure you get home for dinner. When we get too comfortable, we get distracted. We stop paying attention to the space around us. High-volume zones change fast. A pallet might be in a new spot. A driver might be new on the job. You have to stay sharp to stay alive. Here are a few tips to assist you with Distraction Management & Pedestrian Safety (Identifying "Floor Blindness"): Break the Routine. Look at your work area with fresh eyes every hour. Look for new hazards or changes in the workflow. Don't let the scenery disappear. Use the 3-Foot Rule. Always keep at least three feet of clearance between you and any moving forklift. This gives the operator room to correct a mistake. It gives you a buffer. Space equals safety. Ditch the Distractions. Keep your phone in your locker or your pocket. Never look at a screen while walking through the facility. One second of looking down can lead to a lifetime of regret. Make Eye Contact. Never assume a driver sees you. Wait until you make eye contact with the operator before moving near their path. Give a wave. Wait for a nod. Listen for Alarms. Keep your ears open. Do not wear earbuds or headphones on the floor. You need to hear the horns and the sirens to know what is coming around the corner. As always, these are potential tips. Please be sure to follow the rules and regulations of your specific facility.Safety is a mindset that you carry every minute of the shift. It doesn't matter how many years you have on the clock. The floor doesn't care about your experience if you aren't paying attention. We want a culture where everyone watches each other's backs. If you see someone drifting into a danger zone, speak up. A quick shout can save a life.Think about why you work hard. It's for your family and your future. Don't let a moment of "floor blindness" take that away. Stay present. Stay focused. Treat every walk across the floor like it's your first time in the facility. That level of awareness is what separates a pro from a statistic.Thank you for being part of another episode of Warehouse Safety Tips. Until we meet next time - have a great week, and STAY SAFE!#Safety #SafetyCulture #StaySafe #SafetyFirst #SafetyTips #StayAlert #SafetyAwareness #WarehouseSafety #PedestrianSafety #FloorBlindness
