Still Playing with Toys - Troy Benjamin
The Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip podcast is a must-listen for any die-hard Ghostbusters fan. Hosted by Troy Benjamin and Chris Stewart, this podcast covers all things related to the beloved franchise. With their extensive knowledge and passion, it's clear that these hosts are true Ghostheads. I have been listening to this show for almost two years now, and I can't wait for the 300th episode.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the chemistry between Troy and Chris. They have a great dynamic that complements each other nicely, making for an enjoyable listening experience. Their discussions are well-informed, entertaining, and often delve into deep dives of Ghostbusters lore. Additionally, they do a fantastic job of keeping listeners up to date with all the latest news and information in the Ghostbusters world.
Another highlight of The Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip is the involvement of fans in the show. Troy and Chris make an effort to engage with their audience by allowing them to call in and share their thoughts on various topics. This creates a sense of community and makes listeners feel involved in the podcast. Furthermore, I love their idea of having a Zoom call with fans for their 300th episode, where people can talk about their collections and how they became fans. It’s a great way to celebrate such a milestone.
While there aren't many negative aspects to this podcast, one thing that could be improved is the frequency of episodes. As a dedicated listener, I always look forward to new episodes each week. However, sometimes there are breaks between episodes that can leave me longing for more content.
In conclusion, The Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip podcast is a fantastic listen for any Ghostbusters fan. Troy Benjamin and Chris Stewart deliver informative yet entertaining discussions about all things related to the franchise. Their chemistry as hosts is excellent, creating an enjoyable atmosphere throughout each episode. The involvement of fans in the show is also a major plus, creating a sense of community and making listeners feel included. Despite the occasional breaks between episodes, this podcast remains one of my favorites. Keep up the great work!
This week, we're gathered around the table and an ungodly amount of delicious food to talk about all the things we haven't over the last two months: Hasbro's Haslab Ecto-1, Mondo's Real Ghostbusters figures, Waxwork Records' Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire vinyl soundtrack release, a Cleanin' Up the Town book, and so much more! Once we're done with all of those courses, we'll get to the dessert that we saved for last: is Dan Akyroyd hanging up Ray Stantz's skates? Chris and Troy don't think so, but we'll do our best to decrypt his encoded message!
It's that time again, leaves are changing, festbiers are plentiful, Trader Joes is selling everything pumpkin spiced, and WGBI is on the air! Join us for the annual tradition to rival the greatest: WGBI is on the airwaves tonight with spooky sounds, classic songs, and a few more surprises to help you get this Halloween week done right!
This week on the show, we're changing the world again - and this time it's Ghostbusters II! What one thing would we change about the original 1989 film if we were given the opportunity? And how would that trickle down to things that happened in the future? Don't worry, we have multiple answers this week to fuel the discussion. Also we're talking about that weird “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - The Spenglers” goof on Amazon and we're playing your change the world voicemails!
Troy and Chris are back this week to talk about the current state of affairs - the whole world is in a state of flux: financially, politically, and technologically and the entertainment industry is feeling the effects. What does it mean for Ghostbusters? And also, is there an answer to all the people clamoring on message boards and social media for an announcement of the next Ghostbusters project and release date? Could those two things be related? Give us a listen to hear our thoughts!
Troy and Chris haven't connected in a month, so you can be sure there's a lot to catch up on - so that's first on the agenda: Universal re-embracing Ghostbusters, Back in Town concluding its four issue run, and more. Then, in the second half of the show, a new exercise inspired by a GBFans thread: if the boys could change just ONE thing about the original Ghostbusters film, what would it be? Tune in to find out what they might tweak George Lucas style, then hit us up on the voicemail to let us know what small change you would make if ever given the chance!
Ghostbusters Day 2024 has come and passed and, while it was a subdued celebration on the marketing side of things, the love for the franchise has never been stronger. All that plus your voicemails and a few notable news items!
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is now available in your home on VOD, and all the bonus features to go with it! Which were better left on the cutting room floor? Some of our answers may surprise you!
This week on the show, we're talking about Ghostbusters: Back in Town #2 from Dark Horse Comics, and then diving back into some more Ghostbusters cinematic universe loose ends talk from last week! But this time, we're armed with a lengthy email from resident J.H. Tobin, Michael Tanaka! Things that he'd like to see explored, stories he thinks are worth telling, and a lot of discussion about where and why some of the extended storytelling could, should, and maybe isn't happening at the moment. It's a fun one, don't miss it! (And we love you, Michael. Don't change.)
This week on the show, now that we're four canonical films in, we're exploring the hidden corners and loose ends of the Ghostbusters storytelling that we'd like to see Ghost Corps explore. From Ray and Egon's rift, to the time period between Ghostbusters II and that rift occurring and beyond, here are the untold stories that we feel are worthy of being told (and in some cases, the medium we think that they should be presented).
This week on the show, we're talking about Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire's score by Dario Marianelli, lack of pop tracks, and then chatting a lot about how the lore and magic of the live-action Ghostbusters world is expanded by this film. First up, Troy and Chris walk through some of their favorite score cues and explore some of the new cues heard in the film. There's a lot of new avenues explored and great ways of furthering Elmer Bernstein's original music throughout. Then, the boys talk about Nadeem's character in the film and what doors he opens moving forward, which then naturally turns to an existential discussion where we talk about what it means to become one with the fabric of the universe. Ready?
