Between Hasbro's latest HasLab, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, Rise of the Ghost Lord and a tease from the official Ghostbusters channels that something is coming? You know that means we have to podcast, right? It's a given. Must. Join Troy and Chris this week as they talk about the tease and what it could mean, is it a trailer? Is it a poster? Is it a title reveal for the new Ghostbusters film? Is it all of the above? After that, the boys talk Hasbro's latest amazing crowdfunding effort that promises a Ghost Trap and PKE Meter for $300, and we've been logging some hours on Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed ECTO EDITION, so we'll throw in a few thoughts. Troy and Chris talk about his impact on the films we know and love and his connections to Ghostbusters. Then, we're talking about the WGA and SAG strikes and how they may play into Ernie Hudson's comments about the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel codenamed Firehouse possibly being delayed. Then, in the closing moments of the show, the great Secret Studio North sale has begun. How can you get your hands on some of Chris' goods (wait, that didn't sound right) and just how much did his can of Heinz Real Ghostbusters spaghetti sell for? Tune in to find out!

Clocking in at 2 hours and 3 minutes, Episode 2 - ‘A New Start' is an appreciation-deepening, knowledge-enhancing and hype/childhood joy-unleashing deep-dive into and celebration of Ghostbusters, and many adjacent/additive tangent topics as well. I certainly took so much away from deliberately sitting down with, parsing through, really absorbing and discovering new perspectives on this material, and for anyone watching/listening along, I hope you do too. We wove in commentary on Greg Miller's inspiring integration of GB's ethos, spirit of friendship, believing in oneself and conquering the odds into his life throughout the episode; YHS Podcast and The Crossrip get major shout outs too, for being who you are and doing what you do. Though Australia will be seeing it in January, it doesn't matter: the true potential of this universe is finally being realised, and I couldn't be happier. ghostbusters.com albertchessa.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/albertchessa/message

This week on the show, we're exploring another fan theory - this time we explore if the Ghostbusters actually caused the very thing they were trying to prevent. Up first, a few news item recaps including some more talk about that Hughes & Thrall demo from last week and a very particular “error” someone spotted on the Ghostbusters Afterlife teaser poster. Then, in the second half of the show, the boys jump into debating if the Ghostbusters, by capturing ghosts and storing them all in one place, were the actual cause of the Crossrip that brought Gozer into our dimension. It's a fun one, don't miss it!

I've always been fascinated with people who do extraordinary things… like this guy.I have known Keith Clark for most of my life, at least since Junior High, so that's going back some years. It appears he's always off doing something the average Joe, like me, doesn't attempt.Personally, I've always wanted to drive the entire Rt 66 road from Chicago to Santa Monica, CA. How about visit every state capital? I've done 5 so far. Or how about driving from the East Coast to the West Coast? Haven't done that one yet, but one day…Anyway, back to Keith. A heart-attack survivor, Keith told me he was going to take his Trek Crossrip+ bicycle and ride across Iowa. So, when he got back, I invited him to The Scott Townsend Show to talk about why he did it and the experiences he had along the way.I hope you enjoy this episode of The Scott Townsend Show.To Contact Keith -- bicycledreamer@gmail.comTrek Crossrip+ https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bi...RAGBRAI, The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa https://ragbrai.com/► Subscribe to my Youtube channel --- https://bit.ly/3iV8sOTResources and Links--------------------------------------------Follow me on:LinkedInTwitter Facebook Instagram BlogShot with a 1080P Webcam with Microphone, WebCam USB Camera, Computer HD Streaming Webcam for PC Desktop & Laptop w/Mic, Wide Angle Lens & Large Sensor for Superior Low Light-wb-4 https://amzn.to/32gfgAuAudio by Blue Yeti Nano Premium USB Mic for Recording and Streaming - Shadow Grey https://amzn.to/2Zuh0UUThanks so much for listening! The winners of the Crossrip 5th Anniversary mystery boxes and a dip into the Proton Charging archives for a radio interview that aired in 1999 are in store for you this week! First up, Chris has the three winners of our mystery box giveaways in honor of our five years “on the air.” Did you win? Tune in to find out! Then, from the Proton Charging archives, Chris is dusting off a cassette tape of a radio interview that aired in Los Angeles way back in 1999. Around the time of the original film’s first DVD release, radio host Wayne Resnick was joined by Ernie Hudson, William Atherton and Slovitzia Jovan - and a man who had no idea he’d be spending (literally) hours and hours on the air for his own show, Mr. Chris Stewart even makes an appearance. Hop in the time machine and come with us!
We’re turning five this week! Five years to the day ago, the Crossrip became a podcast! Yay us! To celebrate, we’re wrapping up Ghostbusters Day and all that was revealed then having a few of our favorite clip moments from the past five years. First up, Ghostbusters Day was a little delayed due to things happening around the world and was celebrated last week. The subdued marketing day gave us a few product announcements like Campfire Marshmallows bringing Stay Puft brand to shelves next year and LEGO Unboxed getting a Ghostbusters makeover. But the big news was a behind the scenes featurette for Ghostbusters Afterlife that showed at drive-in theaters. Troy and Chris dissect as much as possible to glean from what was shown. Then in the second half of the show, our favorite moments: meeting new friends, talking to icons, even crossing the border for toys, all of that and more on a jam-packed show!
This week on the show, long-time writer of the Ghostbusters IDW Comics Erik Burnham returns to talk about Ghostbusters Year One! With the first of four issues on shelves this week, now’s the time to jump on-board the IDW train, and Troy and Chris catch up with Erik on all that’s been in the comics world since he was last on the show and what’s in store for readers this week and moving forward! All that plus Chris’ idea for a new cinematic universe on the next Crossrip!
An episode release on a Thursday? Have we gone mad? I guess so, because a trailer for GHOSTBUSTERS 3 was released on Monday. We’ve gotta cut into the feed with a special episode. This week on the show, Troy and Chris talk about their reactions to the trailers, their thoughts on some of the teases and what certain elements could mean, and a whole lot more on this special (and long) episode of the Crossrip!
This week on the show, can Bill Murray teleport across Westeros like Littlefinger? How is he simultaneously in North America and also getting hurt in a car accident in Scotland (and on his 69th birthday too)? We’ll explore that as a segue into some Ghostbusters (2020) news including comments made by Ivan and Jason Reitman at the Calgary International Film Festival and a very familiar book cover image posted to Jason Reitman’s Instagram. All that plus updates on our ticket giveaway for Cleanin’ Up the Town and a little bit of merch news (t-shirts, t-shirts, and - - designer jeans?) in another edition of the Crossrip!
Where to start this week? We’ve got first-hand accounts with Hasbro’s Ecto-35 SDCC exclusive, Paul Rudd joining Ghostbusters (2020), and tons and tons of merch news. First up, Troy and Chris talk about the Optimus Prime gone Ghostbusters that Hasbro was kind enough to send our way, and as it turns out, it sort of fulfilled a childhood dream for Troy. Then, we keep the merch train running including Diamond Select exclusives, Halloween Costumes, Naked and Famous Battle Jackets, and yet another mobile game integration. Rounding out our Ghostbusters (2020) discussion, yes indeed we’ll finally talk about the big news that Paul Rudd has joined Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters film which begins production shortly in Calgary. Experiencing some deja vu? It might be because this (kinda) all happened back in 2009. Birthday girl McKenna Grace spoke with ET Canada about her reaction to being cast (hint: she freaked out). All that plus some comments on that whole “hallway” thing that happened on social media on this week’s jam-packed Crossrip!
Fan Fest is in the rear-view mirror and we’ll be talking about it in-depth next week but first, a catch-up on the news and a discussion about this week’s release of Ghostbusters on a 35th Anniversary Steelbook. Troy’s winging it solo as Chris is traveling back up to Canada, but he’ll do his best to talk about Ghostbusters the Video Game Remastered, Jason Reitman’s revelations about Ghostbusters (2020), all the merchandising news coming out of the Licensing Expo including Eaglemoss, K-Swiss, and more. Then, in the second half of the show, this Tuesday sees the release of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II in a special 4K UHD 35th Anniversary steelbook which includes never-before seen special features, deleted scenes, and an unfinished Ghostbusters II teaser trailer that is not to be missed. Amid those special features is a Fan Commentary featuring the Crossrip’s own Troy Benjamin and Chris Stewart, prop builder extraordinaire Sean Bishop, and fellow podcaster Ashley Robinson. After recording the commentary, the whole crew (sadly, minus Ashley) returned to Ghost Corps to decompress and talk about the experience of recording a fan commentary. Call this a post-commentary commentary, that was a whole lot of fun.
This week on the show, more casting for Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters confirmed, a new 35th anniversary home video release, and IDW one-shot talk! First up, the boys catch up after last week’s April Fool’s Yes Have Some episode. Then, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a UHD 4K release of the original two Ghostbusters films in celebration of the anniversary packed with special features including the Fort Detmerring scene and a few other surprises (including a commentary by this ol’ podcast!). Next up, some casting confirmation for “the fam” as McKenna Grace has been confirmed to join Carrie Coon and Finn Wolfhard in a family with mysterious ties to the original Ghostbusters film. In the last section of the show, we’ll talk about IDW Comics’ excellent 35th Anniversary one-shot. All that, plus your voicemails and a few merch updates, and more in a jam-packed episode of the Crossrip!
We’re back to regularly scheduled programming after a couple odd-weeks and there’s TONS to discuss: Ghostbusters World, Men in Black crossovers, it’s a four-fold Crossrip for our return. First up, Troy and Chris have had some time with Ghostbusters World, what have they liked? What needs improvement? What level are they and how does it compare to Greg Miller? Then, IDW Games has announced a new boardgame crossover that pits the Men in Black property with Ghostbusters for the first time (officially). Other news items in discussion: that Ghostbusters II remote controlled trap up for auction, Bryan Lynch’s Ghostbusters III concept, Ghostbusters Dimension’s status at VOID arcade attractions, and Chris hits us all with a half-hour rapid-fire of anything and everything we’ve missed over the past couple weeks!
This week on the show, rounding up all of the SDCC 2018 news and announcements and remembering special effects pioneer Terry Windell. First up, out of SDCC there were a ton of new merch announcements, including Spirt Halloween props and items, new 1:1 replicas, action figures and more (including a Slimer Chia Pet?). Then we'll discuss Ghostbusters World, which was the talk of the con for Ghostbusters fans. Many got a hands-on demo of the game and provided their thoughts. On the press tour for Mission Impossible, writer/director Drew Pearce was hit up (again) about his work on Ghostbusters that was abandoned, and had some interesting comments. Finally, we're remembering Terry Windell of ILM and Boss Films who passed last week at the age of 61, the pioneer who was known for his memorable lightning effects in Ghostbusters and Return of the Jedi left a lasting impression that Troy and Chris discuss. All that and more on this week's Crossrip!
This week on the show, preparing for San Diego Comic-Con 2018 and chatting IDW's "Ghostbusters Crossing Over" issue four! First up, a little update on the news item about the WBZ interview from last week - we heard back from the journalist involved! Then some updates on the good ol' SDCC mayhem including Ghostbusters World's booth at "The Experience" and IDW's plans for the weekend. In the second half of the show, we're chatting spoilerific details about the fourth issue of the big Ghostbusters comic event. All that, plus a great voicemail from one of our listeners this week on the Crossrip!
This week on the show, a whole lot of Ghostbusters II and Ghostbusters The Video Game discussion! First up - news! Troy and Chris chat about Ghostbusters: The Video Game on the 9th anniversary of the game's release, curious photos on producer Brian Volk-Weiss' Instagram of iconic 80's filming locations including Hook and Ladder No. 8, Jeff Shreck's lucky find of a rare Ghostbusters II charcoal (yes, charcoal) uniform, and discussion about Run DMC's Ghostbusters theme song - why was the band so embarrassed by the song? All that, plus a small tribute to Matt "Guitar" Murphy on this week's Crossrip podcast!

One of the most prolific voice actors of all-time, Maurice LaMarche joins the Crossrip this week! Chris caught up with the voice of Dr. Egon Spengler from The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters (and, as it turns out, a surprising other voice revealed in the show) at Fan Expo Vancouver. LaMarche talks about his early years in the entertainment industry, being a Ghostbuster, and a whole lot more. This week on the Crossrip, the boys catch up on news including Ghostbusters Answer the Call's return to theaters over Labor Day Weekend and beyond. Hot Wheels announces eight cars while Cryptozoic cancels some of their wares. The biggest names in voice acting did a live read of Ghostbusters in Toronto - and at the same time, hundreds of Ghostheads gathered in Atlanta for DragonCon and its sister gathering the PKE Surge. Oh, and Troy won a PKE Surge award! All that plus a tribute to a fallen Boy in Grey from the Louisville Ghostbusters, Todd Harrison.
Troy is in the final hours of a work project and Chris is sitting on patios, refusing to come inside and record things. Rather than leave a hole in our otherwise flawless weekly run, this is the perfect time to run a special episode we’ve had in our back pocket for awhile. Recorded back in May, Ryan Doell of the Ghostbusters of British Columbia and Chris hit the road in search of Ghostbusters merch, which had become available stateside just a couple weeks before, but only in the US. Bear in mind, the new movie was still two months away when the trip was made, so if references seem dated, well, they are. And the audio is a bit car-phone-ish, but is pretty clear, so while it’s not up to our usual in-studio quality, it’ll do. The topics are mostly Ghostbusters, with the occasional side-topic and while this is definitely one of our longer episodes, imagine how long it would have been if we hadn’t cut out the 40 minutes of being mildly lost! And now a special Crossrip presentation of the two funniest guys in the car, as voted by the only two guys in the car. Enjoy and we’ll be back with a regular episode next week as usual. Unless Troy has been hauled off for observation.
This week, two podcasts in one! It's a proper Crossrip and a Cylotron - the first in our series analyzing Ghostbusters: Answer the Call. Joining us in the Cyclotron this week are Paul Gannon (of the CheapShow Podcast) and Page Branson (of the Level 7 Access podcast) to talk about the story and the characters of the new Ghostbusters film. But before that, there's a little bit of news including a very special fundraiser underway to make little Braeden a Ghostbuster from the For the Win Foundation. All that and more in this special Independence Day weekend edition of the show.

People from all over the world called in, some as remote as Antarctica (no joke) to give their thoughts on the trailer, what they liked, what they didn't, things that they're nervous about, things that they're not. Plus a British guy tells Star Wars to get bent! It's a great group discussion from a wide variety of folks all over the world on this week's Crossrip!
This past Wednesday, Sony and Ghost Corps opened their studio lot doors to fans to show them the new Ghostbusters (2016) trailer, during that event a Q&A was held with Ivan Reitman, Paul Feig and Katie Dippold to discuss the new film and beyond. Thanks to the folks at Sony and Ghost Corps, the Crossrip is so glad to share that Q&A experience with everyone. Now that you've seen the trailer, share in the experience that a lucky few were able to have in Los Angeles and listen to the three main architects of the reinvigorated franchise discuss their creative decisions, their love and respect for the originals, and a variety of questions asked by the fans!
Your eyes aren't deceiving you, this is a third Crossrip in one week! For good reason though, as we have Anthony and Claire Bueno, the Director and Producer of the new documentary "Cleanin' Up the Town" on the show to talk about their film. Their documentary "Cleanin' Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters" is an in-depth an intricate look behind the scenes of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II that, as you'll hear in the interview, has truly been a labor of love for the last eight years. Anthony and Claire have been self-financing and self-producing the documentary during that time but need our help to cross the finish line so that we can all enjoy this special piece of film history. With just 11 days left in their Kickstarter campaign, there's a Ghostbusters movie out there that needs you, head to their site now to donate before it's too late!
We're breaking into the Crossrip feed for a special bonus episode this week, Paul Feig was honored by the Athena Film Festival this past weekend and as part of the festivities, there was a fantastic moderated Q&A where Ghostbusters (2016) was talked about at length - far beyond the one or two quotations that the major media has picked up. The state of comedy, the origins and the intentions behind the new Ghostbusters, the importance of giving talented women the chance to succeed in the film business. Presented here are some highlights from the live Q&A that took place on the Athena Film Festival's live feed. For more, check out athenafilmfestival.com!
We have a trailer! Well, a trailer FOR the trailer! We've got a special show planned for you to celebrate the Trailer Announcement that also just so happens to be on the date aliens in Paramus, NJ predicted would be the end of the world! Join Troy and Chris for a breakdown of the trailer announcement and perhaps some clues within for the future of what's to come. Then the boys will talk all the merchandise news that's fit to print because this week also is the New York International Toy Fair - Legos, fan clubs, Funko Pop Vinyls, there's a whole slew of good stuff coming that we finally got to see. Then, Cleanin' Up the Town's Kickstarter campaign happened in between recording sessions, and with it came a new trailer that the boys'll chat about. Also, great news out of Chicago as Second City has announced the Harold Ramis Film School opening in September, and there's a familiar name in charge of it. Finally, we'll get to everyone's fantastic (and fun) feedback to the Death and Taxes article discussed last week, including a guest appearance from the guys at Ghostbusters Resurrection. This is a CAN'T MISS episode of the Crossrip, especially considering the world might be coming to an end, join us for the last moments won't you?
This week, you get not just the usual weekly Crossrip episode but we're introducing our sister-show, The Cyclotron! First up, Troy and Chris chat their usual news discussion including some chat about LEGO Dimensions and the under the radar announcement that a Ghostbusters (2016) tie-in console video game is coming from Activision. Also Hook and Ladder No. 8 in New York City is closing up shop for the next three years as it undergoes huge interior and exterior renovations and the boys have all the news that's fit to print on what's changing. The UK had a Toy Fair last week and Rocket Licensing showed off their first wave of tie-in products and boy, the sheer volume is a doozy! Entertainment Tonight interviewed Paul Feig on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and a seemingly trivial comment about test screenings has the internet in a frenzy, find out why. Nerf Herder is back with an all-new single from their upcoming album and it'll hit you right where it hurts, listen to an excerpt from their new song "Ghostbusters III." Plus, Sony has an Indoor Theme Park coming to Minnesota, Ghost Corps wants your franchises, and so much more... whew. Special roundtable discussion episodes that will follow major releases meriting a little more in-depth discussion and analysis is what you'll find in these periodic episode releases - and this week we're pleased to be joined with Ryan Doell of the Ghostbusters of BC to talk about this week's release of Ghostbusters International #1 by IDW. Page by page, panel by panel, listen to the gang discuss this launch issue of an all-new Ghostbusters on-going comic volume and look for future episodes of the Cyclotron to feature familiar faces talking about very incredibly cool things!
This week, the Crossrip remembers David Margulies ("Mayor Lenny Clotch") and catches up on all the news that's fit for another podcast. Trailer Watch 2016 continues as no Ghostbusters (2016) trailer is in sight, but there's a whole lot of licensing news to talk about including Mattel action figures, Rubies Halloween costumes and a big event that took place in London this past week put on by the Rocket Licensing folks. Sounds boring? It wasn't - a good chunk of new props/gear from the 2016 film was on display and Troy and Chris feel like speculating on everything we saw. Ghost Corps wants you to know that you'll be able to have a Lazer Aventura at a Six Flags near you (and wants your franchise patches for a brand new display in their shiny offices)! Want to see GB16 early? Make a bid on IfOnly's charitable fundraising effort for a private screening before anyone else gets to see it. Want to hear some anecdotes we never knew about Ray Parker Jr.'s iconic Ghostbusters theme song and the music video that accompanied it? ScreenCrush had a great article that the boys will discuss. All that, plus a couple hashtags to use in the weeks coming on an all-new Crossrip!

Welcome listeners old and new to the Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip, a place for news, interviews and commentary on everything Ghostbusters hosted by Troy Benjamin of Ghostbusters HQ and Chris Stewart of Proton Charging! First up as always, a little catch-up on all the news you (we) missed during the holidays: fans got a first image from the new Ghostbusters (2016) right before four, count ‘em FOUR character posters were released to the wild for the new film. And what was with that eighteen-wheeler trailer that we weren’t? Then, were you among the lucky ones that were able to get a LEGO Ghostbusters firehouse in the 30 minutes that it was on sale and before it sold out? And if so, have you seen all the cool easter eggs in the set? Plus, some rumors of a possible upcoming Ghostbusters (2016) related LEGO set. Speaking of rumors, what are the odds that the artwork that leaked online of a possible Stern Ghostbusters pinball machine might be an indication of a physical pinball machine on the way in the near future? Now that it’s 2016, what can we expect out of the Ghostbusters attraction they’re building at Dubai’s MotionGate theme park? Turns out, their website holds a couple clues. And last but not least, a little discussion on the FAQ released by Anovos on their upcoming line of highly-collectable screen-accurate props and flightsuits. After the news, stick around for a little retrospective on year one of the Crossrip including our favorite moments and you the listeners’ favorite moments. And don’t forget to ask us about Cheez-Its… YES, CHEEZ-ITS!
The holidays are upon us, so let's all gather around by the fire, grab a cup of cocoa, and watch a movie as a family, shall we? Join Troy and Chris as they watch the original Ghostbusters film from 1984 and do something only tolerable if you know it's going to happen in advance: talking over the movie! The Crossrip boys converse about their favorite scenes, point out a few things you might not have noticed, and share some of the insights and production anecdotes that are stored deep within the recesses of their brains just for you. Troy and Chris needed a little help. Superstar guitarist Phil-X sent out a photo to the masses regarding his recent purchase for Ghostbusters (2016) and it all read a little bit like Greek to them, so they called in the big guns: journalist Dan Amrich joins the Crossrip for this episode to talk video games (Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Puzzle Fighter and more) as well as give his professional analysis of Phil-X's highly-elaborate Instagram message to the fans that may or may not debunk the Crossrip theory that a new Ghostbusters theme song may have already been recorded.
