This week on the show, now that we're four canonical films in, we're exploring the hidden corners and loose ends of the Ghostbusters storytelling that we'd like to see Ghost Corps explore. From Ray and Egon's rift, to the time period between Ghostbusters II and that rift occurring and beyond, here are the untold stories that we feel are worthy of being told (and in some cases, the medium we think that they should be presented).

As the world prepares to embrace its new Frozen Empire, lovingly brought to us by the good people at Ghost Corps, we take a look at a movie that was kind of Ivan Reitman's unofficial Ghostbusters 3: 2001's Evolution. Um, so… yeah, this movie is something else, I tell you what. David Duchovny trying to be Bill Murray. Julianne Moore falling down. Selenium sulfide. A magical periodic table. But hey, Phil Tippett did the creature designs! And Seann William Scott's always a fun addition. My friends! Welcome to the tenth episode of You’re Gonna Love This… or Not…! For those who have just joined us, this podcast features Matt, who loves watching bad movies in his basement, and Josh, who loves giving Matt grief for his love of bad movies. Every month, Matt is going to bring Josh down to his Subterranean Fun Pit (aka, his basement) and show him one of his favorite bad movies, hoping to find one Josh loves, or at least likes a little bit. On occasion, they bring in guests. This month, Matt and Josh are joined by our local chapter of the Ghost Corps, the Circle City Ghostbusters! Jacob and Jason join the crew in the SFP to check out Matt's choice for the Halloween month, Spookies! This film from 1986, which had a world wide gross of $17,785, is a comedic horror film about a group of people who enter a house, only to find themselves at the mercy of a sorcerer who wishes to sacrifice them to, well... let's find out if the group enjoyed it, or if the CCGB decided to cross the streams, initiate total protonic reversal, and try to end it all. NOTE: You’re Gonna Love This… or Not… contains harsh language, and reviews R-rated films, so it is not suitable for younger listeners. Worse, it contains spoilers. YHS is back from Ghostbusters Fan Fest and we've survived to tell the tale of one of the craziest weeks of our lives! There is SO MUCH to unpack here, so strap on your proton pack and enjoy the ride. This is the almost 2 and a half hour tale of Ghostbusters Fan Fest! YHS on Patreon -Support YHS! Fan Fest is in the rear-view mirror and we’ll be talking about it in-depth next week but first, a catch-up on the news and a discussion about this week’s release of Ghostbusters on a 35th Anniversary Steelbook. Troy’s winging it solo as Chris is traveling back up to Canada, but he’ll do his best to talk about Ghostbusters the Video Game Remastered, Jason Reitman’s revelations about Ghostbusters (2020), all the merchandising news coming out of the Licensing Expo including Eaglemoss, K-Swiss, and more. Then, in the second half of the show, this Tuesday sees the release of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II in a special 4K UHD 35th Anniversary steelbook which includes never-before seen special features, deleted scenes, and an unfinished Ghostbusters II teaser trailer that is not to be missed. Amid those special features is a Fan Commentary featuring the Crossrip’s own Troy Benjamin and Chris Stewart, prop builder extraordinaire Sean Bishop, and fellow podcaster Ashley Robinson. After recording the commentary, the whole crew (sadly, minus Ashley) returned to Ghost Corps to decompress and talk about the experience of recording a fan commentary. Call this a post-commentary commentary, that was a whole lot of fun.
Yes Have Some: Celebrating 35 Years of Ghostbusters in 2019!

Then, on the second half of the show, Troy’s had a hands-on with Ghostbusters World and gives his first impressions, plus is joined by Eric Reich of Ghost Corps and Andrew Krensky of Sony Pictures to talk about the imminent release of the game.

Ghostbusters: Resurrection is our roleplaying podcast set in the world of Ghostbusters, but THIS episode is a special presentation from our home dimension!Go behind the scenes at IDW's Ghostbusters - the comics that are keeping the series alive in the original continuity and beyond! Series author Erik Burnham and TMNT/Ghostbusters / Sanctum ofSlime scribe Tom Waltz talk about expanding the universe to parts unknown in the new miniseries, Crossing Over. It's a massive multiversal team-up of 'Busters of all shapes and sizes, so naturally we had to incite a dimensional crossrip of our own. Hear how the comics went from just another licensing opportunity to official cannon; with Burnham and Waltz working with Reitman and Aykroyd as a part of the Ghost Corps brain trust. Join the Yes Have Some crew as we talk with Ghostheads director Brendan Mertens along with producer Tommy Avallone. Ghostheads, a documentary over a year in the making, will make its international debut July 15, 2016 on Netflix. We covered a lot of ground including what it takes to make a fan doc, how Ghost Corps got involved, and what it was like to get inside the minds of Ghostheads worldwide. It's our last episode before we take off for Hollywood for the Ghostbusters premiere. See you all on the other side of the country! Subscribe on iTunes! http://www.yeshavesomecast.com http://www.twitter.com/YHSPodcast http://www.facebook.com/yeshavesomecast
Holy guacamole, there's a lot to talk about this week. How about a special two-hour episode to fit it all in? And how about some quick bullet-points on what's discussed? CinemaCon, Al Roker's Today Show set visit, Activision Console Game, EXCLUSIVE details on that packed Ghost Corps merchandise cabinet (hint: Mattel merch details galore!), MTV Movie Awards, Adam Ray as the voice of Slimer, books, Ray Parker Jr., Dubai Motiongate Theme Park, Cryptozoic's Ghostbusters II: The Board Game, Yahtzee! Anovos, the Ghostbusters: Ultimate Visual History Special Edition, a scientific study on the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River and how they relate to Ghostbusters II, the Largo Ghostbusters doing some great charity work, Golden Cadillacs, VOICEMAILS!, -- geez, did we miss anything? Probably!
This past Wednesday, Sony and Ghost Corps opened their studio lot doors to fans to show them the new Ghostbusters (2016) trailer, during that event a Q&A was held with Ivan Reitman, Paul Feig and Katie Dippold to discuss the new film and beyond. Thanks to the folks at Sony and Ghost Corps, the Crossrip is so glad to share that Q&A experience with everyone. Now that you've seen the trailer, share in the experience that a lucky few were able to have in Los Angeles and listen to the three main architects of the reinvigorated franchise discuss their creative decisions, their love and respect for the originals, and a variety of questions asked by the fans!
Yes Have Some: Celebrating 35 Years of Ghostbusters in 2019!
It's here! The moment we've all been waiting for since 1989. It's a brand new Ghostbusters movie and today the first trailer was revealed to the world. Come hang out with Abbey, Jake, and Craig and listen to them stress out over the trailer, break it down scene by scene, and offer up thoughts, opinions, theories, and overall reactions. Also, Craig and Abbey give the lowdown on their recent trip to the trailer premier with Sony and Ghost Corps hosted by Paul Feig and Ivan Reitman! http://www.facebook.com/yeshavesomecast http://www.twitter.com/yhspodcast http://www.yeshavesomecast.com
Catch up on all this week's news and listen to an interview with the newly engaged couple: Craig Goldberg and Abigail Gardner, who spent February 14th watching the trailer announcement - and having Ivan Reitman help them start the journey of marriage! But before we get into their story, let's catch up a little with the response to the 3/3/16 trailer announcement including a news item featured in the Wall Street Journal. There's still plenty of Toy Fair information that Troy and Chris haven't explored including Mr. Potato Heads, Proton Packs, oh yeah - and the reveal of two potential villains. Spoilers ahead, beware. As if that weren't enough excitement for one episode, we buried the lead -- Ecto Cooler might be back (and you might be able to use it to wash down Ghostbusters-themed Twinkies). So sit back, relax, get informed, then have that cold cold heart of yours warmed with the tale of two fools in love that got a little help from Ghost Corps this Valentine's Day.
This week, you get not just the usual weekly Crossrip episode but we're introducing our sister-show, The Cyclotron! First up, Troy and Chris chat their usual news discussion including some chat about LEGO Dimensions and the under the radar announcement that a Ghostbusters (2016) tie-in console video game is coming from Activision. Also Hook and Ladder No. 8 in New York City is closing up shop for the next three years as it undergoes huge interior and exterior renovations and the boys have all the news that's fit to print on what's changing. The UK had a Toy Fair last week and Rocket Licensing showed off their first wave of tie-in products and boy, the sheer volume is a doozy! Entertainment Tonight interviewed Paul Feig on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and a seemingly trivial comment about test screenings has the internet in a frenzy, find out why. Nerf Herder is back with an all-new single from their upcoming album and it'll hit you right where it hurts, listen to an excerpt from their new song "Ghostbusters III." Plus, Sony has an Indoor Theme Park coming to Minnesota, Ghost Corps wants your franchises, and so much more... whew. And if that wasn't enough, we're spending the second half of the episode to introduce you to our new sister-show The Cyclotron! Special roundtable discussion episodes that will follow major releases meriting a little more in-depth discussion and analysis is what you'll find in these periodic episode releases - and this week we're pleased to be joined with Ryan Doell of the Ghostbusters of BC to talk about this week's release of Ghostbusters International #1 by IDW. Page by page, panel by panel, listen to the gang discuss this launch issue of an all-new Ghostbusters on-going comic volume and look for future episodes of the Cyclotron to feature familiar faces talking about very incredibly cool things!
This week, the Crossrip remembers David Margulies ("Mayor Lenny Clotch") and catches up on all the news that's fit for another podcast. Trailer Watch 2016 continues as no Ghostbusters (2016) trailer is in sight, but there's a whole lot of licensing news to talk about including Mattel action figures, Rubies Halloween costumes and a big event that took place in London this past week put on by the Rocket Licensing folks. Sounds boring? It wasn't - a good chunk of new props/gear from the 2016 film was on display and Troy and Chris feel like speculating on everything we saw. Ghost Corps wants you to know that you'll be able to have a Lazer Aventura at a Six Flags near you (and wants your franchise patches for a brand new display in their shiny offices)! Want to see GB16 early? Make a bid on IfOnly's charitable fundraising effort for a private screening before anyone else gets to see it. Want to hear some anecdotes we never knew about Ray Parker Jr.'s iconic Ghostbusters theme song and the music video that accompanied it? ScreenCrush had a great article that the boys will discuss. All that, plus a couple hashtags to use in the weeks coming on an all-new Crossrip!

[rating:3.5/5] Major Spoilers Poll of the Week You may have heard that Sony Pictures has set up a Ghostbusters production banner called Ghost Corps to capitalize on the fervor/excitement regarding an all female Ghostbusters movie. The idea is to have another movie in production featuring an all-male cast, with Channing Tatum set to produce and possibly star. While many of us are troubled by the boy vs. girl nature of franchise, and even more troubled that the Interwebz seems to be taking sides on who is going to "win", the idea that the original Ghostbusters (Egon, Peter, Ray, and Winston) have franchised their company to others is rather interesting. Which brings us to this week's big question... DISCUSSION: Dr. Scott Robson from Fort Hays State University sits down with Stephen to discuss where communication fails in comics, television, radio, and social media, and how we all need to actively engage with one another.
