“Frankenthug” is a comedic romp through horrorland which takes a classic theme, subverts it, contorts it, and modernizes it into its own creation for an easily digestible fun experience. “Frankenthug” is A Buck Short Productions third feature film, and it shows their growth as creative individuals, film makers, and their trajectory to do so much more. I give it 4/5 “THOT’s, Thugs and T.H.C. It’s just another day in the hood; until, a new gang rolls into town and shoots up the wrong G. Now, after a botched science experiment, a FrankenThug has risen to wreak havoc on the gang that killed him and anyone that gets in his way.” Or as Nathan Hamilton (“Little Dave”/Son of Celluloid) puts it perfectly: “Frankenthug is a flick about Satan’s Own, which is [my] biker gang (I play the leader), we go in, take over the local drug trade, and in the process gun down one of the local dealers. He is then brought back through hood science (a.k.a. weed that’ll raise the dead) and so Frankenthug and Satan’s Own go to war.”

Dr. Caligari! I. Love. This. Film. So. Much!!! Where do I start to review this film? This is one bonkers film, so surreal that most of the time I was saying ‘what the fuck?!?!’ in a good way. It’s the best of every world, and there’s something for everybody. If you want to watch a film that showcases the epitome of 80’s excess and decadence that doesn’t have a care to be couth, then this is the one for you. LGBTQIAA+, an ally, or anyone who likes a fucked-up movie in general needs to watch it! If you want an art house surrealist ode to German Expressionism that’s so crazy you feel like you’re in the Caligari Insane Asylum yourself then you should check it out. Like soft-core porn, hyper-sexuality, masturbation, and constant talk of libido? Then hit the order button now!
