Sermons from our weekly Sunday services. Haddington Elim Church is a new campus of Edinburgh Elim.
Society has told us that we need to look like this, dress like that, and that we need to fit in. As a culture, we are obsessed with youth and beauty. Don't believe me? In 2022, 8.5 billion dollars was spent on plastic surgery procedures in the US alone! Many people don't like their features and choose to change them. For many of us, we may not have come to faith until much later in life. We have lived outside of God's beautiful plan for our lives. We may be living with deep scars and hurts. We may feel like we can be buried beneath shame and many of us have the bumps and bruises to show it.Isaiah 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favour] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,3 To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. What beautiful words and a picture of God replacing the brokenness with His healing oil, taking the soot and ashes from our heads (and more than likely sackcloth) of mourning and sadness and giving us a garment of praise and He places a crown on our heads.
Sheri brings an encouraging message this week about how our God is El Roi, the God Who Sees. If you have ever felt overlooked or not seen, this message will speak to you. Listen now about our God Who sees!
Jesus takes a route usually avoided by many Jews because it led through Samaria. He stops by a well and has an encounter with a woman. What happens next will shock you! Listen now to hear this timely message.
Many Christians live as spectators when Christ has called each of us to active participants. We all are called to share the Gospel. Listen today to be encouraged to 'Get in the Game!'
I think big prayers honour God and God honours big prayers! Often our prayers are too small. We have an unlimited God Who can do the impossible. Be encouraged today!
There is coming a Day like no other day in the history of the world. There is coming a Day of the Lord where the wrath of God will be poured out. Listen to today's message to see what the Bible has to say about this coming event. Are you prepared?
Today I want to talk about trusting God. There is a difference between faith and trust. God wants us to trust Him. Proverbs 3:5-6Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. These are some of my favourite verses in scripture. Solomon was given wisdom beyond all men from God. He had a deep understanding and was incredibly wise. Here he writes that we are not to rely, to look upon or to lean on our own understanding. Our understanding is limited. We can study and learn and even become an expert on a matter, but compared to the infinite wisdom of God, what is that? We can be guilty of only trusting our own understanding. We want to be comfortable and to not step out to the unknown.
A tree planted by streams of water is not easily moved. It has health and can flourish and thrive. God wants us to be a blessing to others. Just like a tree planted by streams, it can draw water, nourishment and it is the same for us. If we are abiding, drawing upon His resources, we can be alive, beautiful, fruitful, useful and able to endure. He causes our way to prosper. He helps us to bear fruit. He spells out the difference for the wicked; they are like chaff, worthless and without value, they are excluded from the assembly of the righteous and will perish. The one who abides in God, by obeying and meditating on His Word will be blessed.Ephesians 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
I heard this question from the coach of my American football team: Are you surviving or thriving? My question to us today is: Are you surviving or thriving?Surviving: adjectiveRemaining alive; yet living or existing.Still in existence.Surviving implies a struggle—you're white-knuckling your way through life, just barely getting by. Thriving is living and thinking abundantly.Surviving is a drag, a daily slog to stay alive. Thriving is joyful and contagious.
What is God saying to us as a church? Are we on the right track? It is important to ask these questions. It does us good to periodically check our ‘maps' and listen to the Holy Spirit to ensure we are keeping close to Jesus. Today I want to put forth our vision for the church for this year. It is from John 15. Jesus is telling His disciples that He is the vine. For us as a church in 2025, we must be and stay connected to the Vine. Our theme for the year is Abiding in Him. Jesus gives us a lot of information here in these passages. He gives encouragement along with some warnings. If we do this, here will be the results. If we fail to do this, we are at risk of catastrophe. John 15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. We must be rooted in Him if we will bear fruit for God. Be encouraged today!
We looked at the confrontation between Elijah and the false prophets of baal. Ahab was the king in Israel and God had warned Israel many times about worshipping the pagan gods of the nations around them; he married a woman who killed many of the true prophets of God. There are many things we can learn from this terrible mistake. This woman was not a follower of God. She was bent on destroying the nation's devotion to Him. The king went right along with it all. We need discernment!! We need those who are willing to warn us. We need those who are willing to take a stand for God even though the majority are going in a different direction. We need those willing to speak the truth in a world filled with lies.
A few weeks ago we came upon someone's bonfire burning in their back garden. A fire is hard to conceal. Taking this as a spiritual lesson, if we have the fire of God burning within us, it should not be able to be hidden. Listen to this message and be encouraged today!
This week Alex Hart shares on the age old question, 'Why Jesus?' This is a foundational question that has been asked by multitudes over many centuries. Why Jesus? Listen today to be encouraged by this message.
In this week's message, Sheri beautifully explains what Christ has done as our redeemer. Listen now to be encouraged as she explains how redemption works in the lives of believers. Our prayer is that you are strengthened and blessed by this timely message.
Our walk should change upon coming to faith in Christ. Our goals and desires should change. Who we're living for should change. We are no longer the lord of our lives but God is. Many of us used to walk like the world walks but once we've come to Christ, there should be a difference. The sinful man is deceived and their understanding darkened in their hearts. Even after we come to faith, if we're not careful, our hearts can become hardened. A contrite heart fixes this. When you do an activity repeatedly, you get blisters at first and then callouses. Our heart after repeated sin and chasing after the world can get calloused in like manner. Our hearts may feel the effects at first, like the blisters but then becomes hardened to it. We are told to lay aside the old self, because it is easily corrupted. We can be deceived and the enemy is a trickster. He's slick and can fool us all. Listen today to hear how we can prevent these things!
Luke 2:8 In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. Suddenly, something extraordinary appears. There are many ‘suddenlies' in the Bible. You rub your eyes a few times because you're not quite sure if you are awake or have fallen asleep. You have to wake up your co-workers because nothing like this has ever happened before. You turn to them only to find them already awake and with a puzzled look on their face. You realise that you, too, have a puzzled look on your own face. Knowing that you are awake now gives rise to deep fear. What exactly are you seeing? What is happening? Is this real? You think it's someone else screaming but realise it's you. A dignified shepherd of Israel screaming like a little girl. Be honest, we all would! Some of us would probably faint. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Here it is in the Amplified: Then suddenly there appeared with the angel an army of the troops of heaven (a heavenly knighthood), 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
We are getting close to the shortest day of the year where there will be about 6 hours of sunlight. Many people experience seasonal affective disorder because there isn't enough light. They even refer to it as ‘winter depression'. We can feel the darkness creep up and seemingly overtake us by minutes each day. But as soon as it comes, the shortest day gives way to the mornings and evenings becoming longer. The dark gives way to dawn. Today we are looking at the Light has come. When Jesus shines brightly in our lives, it removes the darkness and illuminates our lives. One of the first things we hear spoken by God is “Let there be light.” There was darkness over the face of the deep and God called forth light. Light has come. Isaiah 9:2 The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. Be encouraged by this message today!
The Apostle Paul tells us to rejoice and then tells us again, rejoice! What does this mean? This week, Sheri brings this timely message. Listen now to be encouraged and strengthened by the Word of God.
This week America will celebrate Thanksgiving. They will have a feast with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. This is a holiday that remembers the original people that had set out from Plymouth. The harsh winter climate and the long journey caused the death of many of the Pilgrims and Puritans. The Wampanoags helped them to live through the harsh winter. When the harvest came in, they had a meal together to thank the Lord for His providence in keeping them alive and well. It is quite fitting to take time each day to thank God for His providence and protection. We should include this as a daily prayer. The Bible is filled with commands for us to give thanks to God. For us, who have accepted the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, we should be a people which are extremely thankful! We are forgiven and can stand before God as acceptable in His sight. We teach our children from a young age to say ‘thank you' as it's very important to learn proper manners. The verses give us the reasons why we should thank Him, such as “His love endures forever”, “He is good”, and “His mercy is everlasting”. Thanksgiving and praise always go together. We cannot properly praise and worship God without also being thankful. David the King of Israel is described as a man after God's own heart. He wrote many of the Psalms and knew how to worship God. He knew the importance of thanksgiving. A Psalm for Thanksgiving. (this Psalm is an invitation for the entire earth to praise the Lord) 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.
Caleb was one of only two spies (along with Joshua) to come back with a good report when they were sent to spy out the land, a report of faith; believing that God had given Israel the land and would enable them to conquer it although it was full of giants. The other ten spies believed that Israel would be destroyed in the attempt to take Canaan, and the people of Israel believed the ten spies' negative report . Be careful what voices you are listening to! Are they voices of faith or negative voices of fear? It can determine outcomes and postpone promises due to unbelief, fear or disobedience. The ten spies, without faith in God, sized up the giants against their own strength and might, seeing themselves as grasshoppers, but Joshua and Caleb viewed the giants as grasshoppers against God's power.
Joshua has been working closely with Moses. He is the one in the valley fighting while the man of God has his hands raised during the battle. He is a warrior. The time comes for Moses to die. God has raised up Joshua to lead the people into the Promised Land. To be fair, he is not sure he can do it. They have been wandering for forty years without entering the land promised to them. God tells Joshua that it is time to move forward. Today, God may be telling you that it is time to move forward. Like Joshua, you may be unsure that you can do it, but rest assured He can do it through you! Today we are looking at obstacles and barriers. What is keeping you from what God is telling you to do? Joshua 1:2 “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. 3 Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. 5 No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous;
This week, Rachel Hogg looks at this very important and timely subject. She goes through the story of Joshua and the conquest of the land of promise. Be encouraged as you listen to this message!
Luke 8:26 Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. 27 And when He came out onto the land, He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs. Their first thought may have been, let's get back in the boat, storm and all then to stay here! Here is a madman coming at them naked and possessed by demons. Plural! He lived in the tombs and would have been a sight to behold. He had been in this condition for a long time. He was surrounded with death and decay. His dwelling place was the graveyard, the cemetery. Note: This man approached Jesus. 28 Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me.” 29 For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break his bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert. It says that he cried out in a loud voice. I would bet it was terrifying! He was bound with chains as a way to subdue him but he would break them. They bound him with chains to keep him from hurting others, but he broke the chains time and again. Finally, they drove him out of town and he lived in the local cemetery, a madman among the tombs, hurting the only person he could – himself. The demons had not only terrorised this man, but the whole region. His madness affected everyone. He was probably very scary. The people tried to keep him bound, probably to protect the people and to keep him under guard, but nothing worked. The demon would drive him away from people, and the people away from him. We all need fellowship and friendship. The man also has been away from his family for a long time. Think of what everyone thought of the man. What do you picture? Jesus sees a man who needs salvation just like we all do. We may not live in the tombs or cemetery, but He knows our hearts. We may look good on the outside, but even the religious leaders of the day, Jesus saw them as whitewashed tombs with dead men's bones inside. Jesus saw this man in this state and treated him with dignity and respect. Here was a man, a soul that needed to be saved. They had left great times of ministry to get in a boat to go to the other side for ONE MAN. Jesus knew there was a need on the other side of the Sea. Here is a lesson for us all; the ONE is worth it! It may not always be a multitude but One soul matters to God. The Bible says that all heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents.
We have just returned from mission. We were blessed beyond measure and wanted to share with you our experiences. Corey, one of the team members shares his powerful testimony, as well. We pray you are blessed as you listen to this week's podcast.
Pastor Gordon Allan brings this timely message. Be encouraged as you listen to this message.
Today Pastor Arwyn Cudlip brings an inspirational message. Our prayer is that you are encouraged by this week's message.
The last few weeks we have been talking about a time of consecration. Elim's new General Superintendent, Mark Pugh, has asked everyone across Elim's network to spend 21 days in a time of consecration. I asked everyone to have a time of personal consecration and last week, we looked at consecrating our church. Today we are looking at the consecration of the Elim Movement. Elim believes that the Holy Spirit is still being poured out on people all around the world, not just at Pentecost. It is a continuing story of changed lives and communities, being written by thousands of people who believe in the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. Elim represents a global network of about 650 churches in the UK and Ireland, and over 4000 Elim or Elim affiliated churches overseas, with a weekly attendance of about 50,000 in the UK and more than 300,000 overseas, operating in some 50 countries worldwide. We honour the past. We are thankful for all that God has done. We also need to look to the present and future. What is God saying today? What will the future hold? There are those who've gone before us cheering us on. As the time of the end is getting closer, what should His Church be doing? As we finish off the time of consecration, ask God what He wants you to do. How will you fulfil the Great Commission? Believe with me that once again the churches will be full of people coming to faith in God. May we have faith to see Scotland come back to God. Scotland is known historically as the Land of the Book.
Today we are looking at the consecration of our churches. Many churches and denominations that once burned bright with the glory and power of God have ceased to be. Often when man takes the place of God, we can see it shrivel up and die. He is the giver and sustainer of life. Why would we, in our earthly wisdom, ever think we would know better than God in His infinite wisdom? 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.” 20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. We have seen how nations have shown God the door, trusting in their own ability or intellect. They have also seen the ramifications from that act. The nations that are based on Godly foundations have a clear, distinct history. May we never think that we know better than God. We need Him, He does not need us. We're looking at Joshua has moved the Nation of Israel into the Promised Land. They have followed God's instructions and have defeated Jericho and its fortified walls. As they continue onward they come to a small city called Ai. The men tasked to check it out bring back their report.
Elim's new General Superintendent, Mark Pugh, has asked everyone across the Elim network of churches to enter a time of consecration as we look to the future of the Elim Movement. Many times throughout scripture, the people of God took time to consecrate themselves. “I dare to believe that Elim's future can be greater than our history if we will humbly bow in surrender and service. Our season of consecration is key to this right posture.” — Mark Pugh, General Superintendent To declare or set apart as sacred; Dedicated to a sacred purpose; sanctified. Consecrated; devoted; dedicated; sacred. To make, or declare to be, sacred; to appropriate to sacred uses; to set apart, dedicate, or devote, to the service or worship of God. Consecration is the transfer of a person or a thing to the sacred sphere for a special purpose or service. The word consecration literally means "association with the sacred". Persons, places, or things can be consecrated, and the term is used in various ways by different groups. The origin of the word comes from the Latin stem consecrat, which means dedicated, devoted, and sacred. A synonym for consecration is sanctification; its antonym is desecration. We are taking the next 21 days as a personal time of consecration and ask you to join us too.
We all go through times of testing and trials. They can make us or break us. Rachel Hogg takes us through the story of David in Ziklag. What happens in this passage will encourage you today. Listen now to this message and let God speak to you.
One thing that all of us face at one time or another is the temptation to quit. We have an enemy that wants to destroy our lives and families. We are battered at every turn. In Navy Seal training, they have a bell that they want you to ring to give up. They are almost torturing you and you are beaten by the waves. You are made to run for miles. You are cold, you haven't had proper sleep and they encourage you to ring that bell. To tap out, to call it quits. That's what satan does to us. We all stumble and fall at times, but there is an important part of that, probably the MOST important…getting up. It is not easy. Sometimes it is the hardest thing you can do. We have to be able to get up and continue with Jesus. “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the aeroplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” ― Henry Ford The Apostle Paul faced many hardships. He was stoned and left for dead, shipwrecked and beaten, some took oaths that they wouldn't eat until they killed him, he was imprisoned more than once, dragged out of cities and we can only guess some of the things not written but never gave up! He was driven to preach the Gospel and to carry the message of the cross to anyone who would listen.
With the emergence of this beautiful weather we've had, I finally had the chance to smoke a brisket on my grill. Now brisket is a tough meat and it needs hours to cook through or it will be tough like a car tyre. Usually I get up early and get everything ready. I found out the hard way that brisket gets to a place that is called ‘the stall'. The stall happens when the internal temperature fights against the heat trying to come into the meat. The cold and heat reach a level point and will not give an inch. I found out that after an hour passed, the internal temp would not climb above 88*C. I needed to reach at least 93 for the meat to break down and become tender. This made us think about a Spiritual lesson. This is what goes on inside of us, so to speak. We have our walk with God. Sometimes in the beginning, we are soaring. We are red-hot for God and gladly tell others about Him. After a while, like the brisket, we reach a stall. Our soaring becomes hard like we're beating heavily against the wind. Our red-hot desire to share our faith cools and we then fight against the world coming against us. We are in a spiritual war with the enemy coming against us. Listen today to be encouraged in your walk with God.
Today we are looking at Acts 17. Paul is on his missionary journey through Greece. One thing I noticed about Paul, he KNEW how to read a room. He wasn't oblivious to the listeners on hand. He was wise and led by the Holy Spirit. We need to be led by the Spirit and be able to speak to those around us and tell them the good news about Jesus.
Our scripture reading is Ephesians 1:15-23. Bob David Bell is sharing this message. We hope that you are encouraged by the Apostle Paul's prayer for us as His Church. Last week I spoke about all or nothing. It was a challenging message that encouraged us to take a stand for Christ and that we should give our all in our service to Him. He is the King and we are His servants. What He says goes! The message was about how each of us, individually, can give our all to Christ. Today's message is about all of us, working in cohesion to be the Body of Christ. Cohesion: the state of sticking together, or (of people) being in close agreement and working well together: Team: Together Everyone Achieves More I always found it fascinating how things came to be. Sometimes the greatest recipes came about by accident. A mum somewhere didn't have the specific ingredients and substituted something else, and voila! Take for instance the chocolate chip cookie.
I watched a documentary called ‘All or Nothing' and it chronicles different sports teams and their desire to win a championship. It takes you inside the organisation and gives insight into the players, coaches and their plans to win it all. It is a real behind-the-scenes look at these teams. To be a champion in any respective sport, there are huge sacrifices that need to be made. There is endless training and devout discipline needed to win and succeed. With Wimbledon recently happening, think of a professional tennis player. How many serves do you think they practised as children or teenagers before they were acing other ranked players? Think of a professional golfer. How many putts do you think they practised? How many balls did they hit off the tee before they could hit them to compete with the best in the world? There are countless hours, most unseen by everyone, spent late into the nights. They would envision the moments that they would hold up the trophy, champion of the world. This documentary showed behind the veil to see what goes on in the lives of these elite players and coaches. This made me think about us, as followers of Christ, are we giving all or nothing? Are we sacrificing and endeavouring toward God and His Kingdom? Can we envision the end, where instead of a trophy or prize, we receive the crown of life and hear well done My good and faithful servant?
Hear these encouraging testimonies of God answering prayer in amazing ways. I hope this encourages you and your faith. Let us know if you have a testimony you would like to share.
The premise of the show was when the people didn't know that the boss was there, they spoke freely and some even didn't follow the procedures or rules. Unless we are the owner of our company, usually we have a boss. (even the boss has shareholders and others they are accountable to)When the boss is around, usually the managers make sure all the employees are following all the correct policies and procedures. These may get overlooked in the day-to-day business but not so when the boss is around. Most employees are on their best behaviour when they are being watched by their boss. Here's a question to ponder: How would we act and work if we knew that the big boss or owner of the company was watching us? We usually would be on our best behaviour. Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Watching the evil and the good.
The Bible says that it's the little foxes that spoil the vine. Many times we are not attacked spiritually from a head-on position, but from the little things that wear us down over time. Alex Hart shares today about taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Listen now to be encouraged by this message!
The Ten Commandments Repeated (demonstrating the mercy of God) Deuteronomy 5 Then Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I am speaking today in your hearing, that you may learn them and observe them carefully. God's desire for us is to learn and obey His commands and laws by observing them. Although Israel learned God's laws, they didn't listen or obey and would repeatedly end up in exile and ruled by others. This was not what God wanted for His people. This is a huge red flag for us. We need to learn and obey all that God says.
Today, we are looking at the passage in Exodus 19:16 So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. 17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 18 Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently. 19 When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with thunder. 20 The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. The whole nation saw the mountain on fire with God's presence which was visible. They felt the earth shake with the fire of God's presence. They may have smelled the smoke. They heard thunder and were all frightened. Moses bravely went into the unknown. No matter what your thoughts are of Moses, he wasn't a coward.
We had taken the grandkids for a ‘walk' the other day. I say walk, because at 3 and 2 years old, it became a ‘carry' much more than a ‘walk'. When the going got tough, or they got tired, they wanted us to pick them up and carry them. It was a piggyback at times and the entire walk was mostly us trading off carrying them. We were discussing the reality of carrying someone. When you carry them, you bear the weight of their being. You walk a little more carefully. You find your steps a bit more laboured. Your body hurts as their weight begins to compound on yours. This is what Jesus does for us. He Himself lifts us up. He bears the weight and pain in His body. Our love for our grandkids was given with every step. We didn't set them down and leave them. Who would do that? We can sometimes make the error of thinking that God would leave us, when the truth is that He said He would NEVER LEAVE us nor FORSAKE us. It is a comfort to know that when we feel like we can't go on, He Himself carries us, our burdens and our pain. He does that for US because He loves us.
All of creation is groaning and longing for redemption. At the Fall of man, the ground, the physical earth and creation, was cursed because of Adam. For every man, woman and child that has been born, they are born under this curse. Sin and death entered the human race. This wasn't God's plan or purpose. As we looked at the session this week at the Bible study on Tuesday, David Platt gave the purpose and reason for our creation. We are created to have fellowship with God and our purpose is to exalt Him in all the earth. Today we are looking at scripture and what the final outcome will be for ourselves and all creation. We await with eager anticipation for that great and glorious day.
David Walkinshaw brings this message about how God's desire is for unity in the body of Christ. Listen now to hear this message.
As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, Pastor Samba Bindia reminds us that the Holy Spirit came after the disciples obeyed Jesus' command to wait in Jerusalem. It came suddenly. Listen now to hear this encouraging message.
As spring is underway, this is a time when farmers begin to cultivate their fields. The air is filled with the smells of fertiliser. Jesus shares this parable to a crowd and begins to discuss seed and sowing. Listen to hear what Jesus is saying to us today.
This week Pastor Gordon Allan brings the message. Sometimes in life we need a new view, a new perspective to see something better. For us, the lens we use can determine many factors. We view things in light of God's mercy. Listen today to be encouraged by this powerful message.
We are introduced to a woman who desperately needs a miracle from Jesus. What happens may surprise you! If you are having a difficult time, maybe where it seems like God is not hearing your prayers, this message is for you! Be encouraged! This week's message is by Elaine Berwick, and elder at Edinburgh Elim.
There was a man a few years ago who alleged he was the rightful monarch of England instead of Queen Elizabeth II. He claimed he was the true and rightful heir to the throne. To be the true and rightful heir, you must have the correct bloodline, pedigree or other verifiable proof. Anyone can make any claim that they want, but you must be able to substantiate it. There are tests that they can do to verify your claims. There are many nations that can trace their royal families bloodlines back even to 55 generations.
