Fr. Mike reflects on King Saul's despair in the face of trial, and how he seeks other means of comfort when he feels like God has abandoned him. God never abandons us, especially in the midst of danger. Fr. Mike invites us to place our trust in God's promise, instead of resorting to sinful acts. Today's readings are 1 Samuel 27-28 and Psalm 34. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Fr. Mike uses King Saul as an example that God does not unchoose those he has chosen, and never loses faith in us. Even if we feel someone is in power unjustly, it's God who decides who holds power, not us. Today's readings are 1 Samuel 24 and Psalm 57. Your Nightly Prayer
Set to moving music from Monteverdi's brilliant vespers of 1610, with Anthony Thompson and Kevin Ashman leading on the trumpets, join Robert and Elizabeth in this rendering of Isaiah 26, and Psalms 18 and 17:14-15. Biblical Hebrew does not have tenses in the way that most modern languages do, so I have at times turned the tense around to make it not only a reflection on past deliverances but an active declaration that the Lord is always able to help us, and will continue to do so in the future.
Enjoy a reading of Psalms 13 today and be encouraged even in challenging times. Sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with us.
Today, on Karl and Crew, we began our weekly focus on the Book of Esther by discussing the importance of trusting the Lord over worldly securities and comforts. You may rely on specific daily amenities for stability or routine, such as cars, investments, insurance, etc, and you can quickly become dependent. We turned to Psalm 20:7, where we are encouraged to remember the name of the Lord our God over the chariots that may help alleviate daily needs or tasks. We can’t become dependent on the chariots that comfort us because sometimes we are called to disrupt that comfort for the good of others. In Esther 4:14, Esther was asked to risk her comfort in the palace to save her people from persecution, and she did. She jeopardized her chariot for the sake of her people. Are you willing to risk your chariot? Our special guest, Rob West, also joined us to discuss placing our trust in God instead of financial securities. Rob hosts the nationally syndicated radio program "Faith and Finance LIVE," which explores how faith and finance intersect. He also hosts the Faith and Finance podcast, which is connected to the app FaithFi. Rob also authored a 21-day devotional, "Look at the Sparrows.” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on Karl and Crew Showcast.Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In Season 6 of the Forever Marriage Podcast we are going publish the content from our most recent Forever Marriage Conference that Lakewood hosted at the end of March. Scott and Dawn Smith were our keynote speakers and they talked about what it looks like to THRIVE in marriage, and not just survive. So they broke down the word THRIVE into an acrostic for their teaching points and we are going to use those session recordings for our Season 6 content. In this episode we are going to hear in the first session where they unpack the letter T in the acrostic THRIVE. In Psalm 37:37, 39–40, Jim Osman describes the refuge of the righteous and the eternal blessings promised to them. While the wicked will be cut off, the righteous are remembered, rescued, and rewarded. Their salvation and strength come from the Lord, who delivers them from danger and preserves their legacy. Osman urges believers to trust in the refuge of the righteous—Yahweh Himself, who grants eternal peace and protection. ★ Support this podcast ★

Dr Beverley Wolmarans - Always Trust in the Lord - 16 March 2025 Am by Dr Theo And Beverley Wolmarans Ministries
Today I want to talk about trusting God. There is a difference between faith and trust. God wants us to trust Him. Proverbs 3:5-6Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. These are some of my favourite verses in scripture. Solomon was given wisdom beyond all men from God. He had a deep understanding and was incredibly wise. Here he writes that we are not to rely, to look upon or to lean on our own understanding. Our understanding is limited. We can study and learn and even become an expert on a matter, but compared to the infinite wisdom of God, what is that? We can be guilty of only trusting our own understanding. We want to be comfortable and to not step out to the unknown.
Psalm 125 (ESV)Andrew and Edwin discuss the incredible faith it would take for ancient Israelites to make the pilgrimage to Jerusalem, leaving their farms and homelands behind for weeks. Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're discussing Kanye West's latest internet meltdown and what it reveals about the state of our unfortunate over-sexualized and depraved culture. From celebrity chaos to societal decay, it's clear—without God, the world spirals into total confusion and sin. We're breaking down the bigger picture and talking about why it's time to turn away from worldliness/wickedness and the dysfunction of degeneracy and back to the truth and love of Christ. Jesus is the only sane way forward, ladies and gentlemen.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-copy?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=tbs_thebiblestudy_searchads-nixwdmd&tw_source=google&tw_adid=608801073541&tw_campaign=17672311083&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC-_2dRN1WU6lhTaWFNApFgzBkVe_&gclid=CjwKCAiAwaG9BhAREiwAdhv6Y_Xc6w4LM7_4otTu1-XgzYjKKwhwbNBCdqLFVTDdXToND7Rt6JU2hBoC3hsQAvD_BwE
Proverbs 3 tells us to Trust in the LORD with all of your heart, but what if my heart has been hurt before?
After years long hiatus, Wise Words from Proverbs is back! Listen as Proverbs 3 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. A powerful chapter on faith and wisdom!
Inspirational quote: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make straight your paths. We must stay focused not to be worried and we must put our confidence in God continually. This episode is a reminder to simply stay focused on God.Trust in God: The verse emphasizes the importance of placing your complete trust in God, acknowledging His sovereignty and wisdom.Lean not on your own understanding: It warns against relying solely on your own intellect or judgment, as it can often lead to misguided decisions.Acknowledge Him in all your ways: This means recognizing God's presence and seeking His guidance in every aspect of your life.He will direct your paths: The promise is that when you trust in God and acknowledge Him, He will guide you and lead you on the right path. This passage is a reminder to prioritize faith and seek God's direction in all areas of life, rather than solely relying on our own limited understanding.
This week we had Reverend Louis Williams from Into the Neighborhood, a local ministry seeking to mobilize prepared people to live out God's mission for their lives and reclaim, restore and rebuild the landscape of their community. On today's podcast, Pastor Cameron looks at our need to trust in the Lord - some will trust in horses, some in chariots, some in science, some in modern technology, but we will trust in Christ!
