Robert "Bob" Harward is a retired United States Navy SEAL and a former Deputy Commander of the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) under General James Mattis. He served for 34 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in November 2013 as a Vice Admiral. Text a Message to the ShowToday is a crime history episode on the BTK serial killer, Dennis Rader.  Rader is known to have committed at least ten murders between 1974 and 1991, communicating with the media about his crimes but not getting caught.  He called himself BTK, for "bind, torture, kill," and had disappeared for 13 years when suddenly he began communicating with the media and the police again.  This is the story of how he got caught. And I work through that position, and its interpretive faults (and the ugly fruit it bears). Was he teaching us how we could earn our way into heaven? Was he, in the Sermon on the Mount, ending the Torah? Truth is, we cannot understand many of the outlandish things Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount unless we understand what his mission and purpose were.
