Few fandoms can even be compared with that of George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series. The fandom is full of creative greats supplying essays, videos, podcasts and more. On the Isle of Faces, I turn the camera, or mic rather, back on them, and take the opportunity to highlight who thes…
The time has come. After a big ole gap, and delays to delays, surgeries and royal deaths and road bumps galore...your Isle has returned. And it wants answers. Answers to questions such as: - Where will Daenerys and Drogon fly to next? - What will Daenerys' reaction to the Battle of Fire be? - Will Stannis' burning of Shireen be 'successful'? - What eldritch/otherworldly creatures could feature in the Battle of Ice? - And is Gilly even in Oldtown? Hopefully you all remember how this works much better than I do. Send your questions, send your answers, send your complaints! And if you have any, send your feedback too. Trivia and shouting both return to the Isle of Faces in equal measure as we return for some Sporcle Spectacular and the third iteration of an attempt to Forge the Five. And THIS TIME, I actually got the video to work (supposedly), so if you fancy watching along on my screen to see some cool maps and better focus your consternation at whatever I got wrong, you can head over to our Patreon to do so. This time round there's Game of Thrones actor names, who died where, Joffrey facts, and lots lots more. As always, be sure to send in your own scores and any ideas for a description of my performance. Here we are again, back for more sporcle fun to fill in the little break here on the Isle (There may also be some brief exclamations over the NBA finals and the Olympics. I cannot confirm. Definitely not) This time, there's Storm of Swords characters (where you will definitely be screaming some of the simpler answers I forget), there's Free Cities talk, Night's Watch trivia, which kings died when, and plenty more! Take a go yourselves with the links below before you have a listen if you fancy, and definitely let me know your scores if so. - https://www.sporcle.com/games/maxvroom/storm-of-swords-most-mentioned-characters?t=asongoficeandfire - https://www.sporcle.com/games/strokes_static/long-live-the-king?t=asongoficeandfire - https://www.sporcle.com/games/Dryvus/freecities?t=asongoficeandfire - https://www.sporcle.com/games/stevenmiller61/anyone-but-jon-snow?t=asongoficeandfire Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley Thanks as always!
This time round we ask and answer another ten questions for THREE WHOLE HOURS. How did we do it? With plenty of help from you fine folk. Emily and I make up our own Westerosi newspaper headlines, discuss the future of the far south, tick off a list, and laugh a whole bunch! Specifically, today's questions are: - Name a Westerosi headline we could see in Winds - What will be the big 'pull the rug moment' of the book? - Will there be any significant pregnancies? - What was going on with Craster and the Others? - What does the future hold for Sarella? - What does the future hold for Darkstar? - Will Jon Connington burn King's Landing? - Who is next to die on Arya's list? - What will the Weeper do? - Is there anything to the lemon tree theory? Thank you for your questions. Thank you for your answers. Keep sending them both in! But before you do join us on the Isle to hear us chat about the wonder that is Gilly, who cares about Dunsen, and the wildfire safety leaflet going missing Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley https://twitter.com/emilyoftheeyrie Thanks as always!
Today I go head-to-head against ASOIAF sporcle. Using the trusty ole 'random' button, I try to beat the average score for four quizzes in a row. Finish below the average? Back to the beginning! No prisoners are taken in a Sporcle Spectacular. So get ready to shout out loads of clearly obvious answers that I forget in my haste to forge. That will include a good many Houses, place names, character mentions, as well as some solid trivia. As always, remember to have a go yourself and let us know your scores. Here's a few of the quizzes included in this episode - https://www.sporcle.com/games/Goose00/top-300-westerosi-houses-from-a-song-of-ice-and-fire?t=asongoficeandfire - https://www.sporcle.com/games/beforever/get-the-picture-arya-sansa?t=asongoficeandfire -https://www.sporcle.com/games/maxvroom/a-clash-of-kings-most-mentioned-characters?t=asongoficeandfire - https://www.sporcle.com/games/stevenmiller61/a-song-of-ice-and-fire-multiple-choice-quiz?t=asongoficeandfire - https://www.sporcle.com/games/Michiel/asoiaf-characters-by-journey-slideshow Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley Thanks as always!
Thus, the journey is complete! We return to the beginning as we head back to the Battle of Fire and a Meereen on the edge! This time it's through the eyes of everyone's favourite delusional moron: Victarion! And this time he's a moron with a plan. Two in fact. One for battle, one for something altogether more...fiery. And flappy. Aboard the Iron Victory we muse about realistic battle expectations, how far Victarion's delusion has gone, what the actual aims are, and what the hell Moqorro might be planning. Plus, how the many Meereen characters might react when meeting this particular captain. All that with dragon talk, horn talk, and coming back to the big battle! As a special treat, in addition to covering this final Winds preview chapter, I go through all the POVs George didn't gift us with a preview chapter for. We get some reminding of where they stand at the beginning, what might happen next, and where they could go later in Winds. So step aboard the Isle to refresh yourself on Jamie vs Stoneheart...or is it Cersei? Daenerys getting her own back on the Dothraki...or is she teaming up with them? And everything going on from King's Landing to the Wall. To top it all off...some appreciation for the preview chapters, and how much we still have to see! Many thanks all! Emily and I are back for another 10 questions, and it's our biggest episodes yet. We've got secret plots, we've got hoped-for vengeance, the crumbling of the Wall (or not), and dead (or not) POVs! Specifically, today's questions include: - What will happen in the Winds prologue? - Will the Wall be down by the end of the book? - What will be the difference between book and show for Hodor and Shireen's deaths? - Whether Theon will be crowned - Which POVs we think won't make it out - Instances of vengeance we're looking forward to - Whether Loras is injured/ what the hell is happening on Dragonstone - If we'll get R+L=J confirmed, and how? - What other prizes Euron could own by the end - And how much time the rest of the books will cover This one is a biggie! Thank you for both your questions and answers (some of which we get to at the beginning). Keep sending them both in! But before you do join us on the Isle to hear us discuss how far south the dead will travel, what Sam can do at the Citadel, whether Euron will come north, Frey deaths, and so, so much prologue talk (though there can always be more) Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley https://twitter.com/emilyoftheeyrie Thanks as always!
Back to the snow, back to the war, back to the north! Finally, after so long we return to our search for answers in the camp of Stannis Baratheon. How will his army survive? How will the battle for Winterfell continue? What was the aftermath of Theon appearing out of the snow at the end of Dance? Finally, we get answers via our wall/chain-mounted Theon cam. On The Theon Hour this week we see Stannis return to kingsmanship as he deals with traitors, fulfils old promises, makes contingency plans, and drops plenty of amazing lines! At the same time we finally look to the Winterfell horizon as Stannis interrogates his prisoner for any information given, all while debating on the most appropriate way to kill him. If this chapter tells us anything, it is that the war for the north is far from over. So come step on the Isle for a few seconds of laughing at Lebron, first off, but after that discussions of Jeyne Poole's future and how it varies between hooking Arya back to Westeros or being married off to a southerner, how close Stannis' camp might be to mutiny, Theon's appraisal of his own soul, Stannis' secret plans for assault, Asha's reaction to her brother's appearance, Theon's ultimate fate and how the hell Bran, Bloodraven, and some really noisy birds might change the entire path of this plotline. That, and plenty more for perhaps the most interesting preview chapter of them all! Welcome back to game time! After a long ole gap from this type of episode we continue welcoming Emily to the Isle by having some fun with the gigantic quiz sight known as Sporcle! Our mission this time round? Be given an opening sentence from A Storm of Swords and then guess which POV it belongs to! Simple, you say? Well, you just wait. Or better yet, have a go yourself and tell us how you did as Emily and I go head to head. Today's quiz can be found here: https://www.sporcle.com/games/ckrubin/asos-chapters Tell us who is easy, who is hard, which sentences made you tear your hair out in frustration! (Because there's definitely some of those). Whatever happens, join myself, Emily, and a whole bunch of questions for some relaxed fun upon the Isle! Thunderbolts. Lightning. Very very...well you know the rest. Actually, there's no thunderbolts or lightning in this chapter but there may as well be as we enter perhaps the darkest chapter in all ASOIAF. Down in the depths of shadow we reunite with Aeron as he undergoes...quite a bit. Ancient trauma, physical torture, questions that you think bend the mind until the visions kick in and show you what true brain shattering is. And all of it is swirling around and around a figure cloaked in darkness save for one terrible red eye. Yes this is the chapter of Euron Greyjoy and all that he could be about to inflict on us as circumstances go from awful to much much worse. Hop aboard the Isle, if you dare, for conversations on the battle between ironborn and Redwyne, what the plan for Oldtown might be, the parts of Oldtown Euron doesn't even know about, maester-fallout, white-fire-women, reverse engineering, and talking about Asha because we need at least one damn positive out of this thing. Emily and myself return for another ten questions blazing across the entire spectrum of The Winds of Winter! We've got sword names, we've got early exits, we've got the Vale, Stoneheart, and horny Tywin?? No thanks. Specifically, today's questions include: - Unseen locations we finally visit - Who is the next fan favourite (the Nimble Dick award) - The most difficult to predict storyline - What was Tywin up to in Lys? - New valyrian steel swords - Who we think will disappoint the most - Will Sweetrobin survive the book? - What current events could Bran see through the weirwood net? - Could Dany use the Dragonbinder horn? - And what will become of Lady Stoneheart? Thank you for your questions. Thank you for your answers. Keep sending them both in! But before you do join us on the Isle to hear Emily talk on the jumble of King's Landing and where the weirwoods are, I get far too deep into Blackfish talk, and we both have a go at naming some swords! Today we come upon one of the most most wonderfully written chapters of well. As enchanting as it is chilling. As thrilling as it expansive. Finally, after far too long away, we return to Arya as she takes on her latest role. While we see her live the life of Mercy and prepare for a big performance we also learn even more about Braavos and the life of the smallfolk. We wonder who her next target might be and how far she's fallen into the role. And then as our eyes our opened we are rewarded with one of the greatest, darkest acts of vengeance in the series. Arya steps to the stage. So hop upon the Isle once more for thoughts on what Nymeria might be up to, the appreciation for George giving us an entirely different viewpoint of how this world works, whether this will be the 'hook' that drags Arya back to Westeros, and the many possible consequences that Arya, Braavos, and Westeros might face because of this. That plus general love for Arya because...well, she's great. Dorne? We don't need no stinking Dorne. Today we're going back to the Stormlands! In our second trip to Arianne land we get back to a long-forgotten kingdom, visit the Weeping Town, go caving, make contact with the Golden Company, re-meet Haldon Halfmaester and learn PLENTY about the next steps of Jon Con & Aegon. That, plus the fact they don't have any dragons. Uh oh. As Arianne continues her development journey and thinks further on this monumental decision, she also keeps trying to reign in her cousin, accepts the danger of her position, and even (maybe) moves past the immaturity of the Quentyn Question to what it actually means if Dany isn't coming. So step aboard the Isle for all that plus conversations on Horny Feathers, the symbolism of the Weeping Town's Tale, the political after effects of bringing the Golden Company to Westeros, Daemon bravery, Elia bravery, the beauty of the Rainwood, the mysticism of the historical caves and so, so much talk about the Stormlands and ESPECIALLY my beloved Storm's End. Like, a lot a lot. Welcome to the 2nd century here on the Isle. Today we travel all the way back for long-awaited Dorne to chat about an even more awaited Arianne. Yes we return to southern and central Westeros to focus on one of the biggest storylines in Winds: the return of dragons to Westeros. This time we do it in the framework of Arianne stepping away from her home, into the limelight, to ascertain the truth about a certain heritage claim taking place in the Stormlands. The Targaryens have their prints all over this chapter. As does Quentyn. As does Doran. And a couple of new characters too. There's that, the pressure Arianne holds, the politics of Dorne, potential dreams, and the focus on maturation since the last Arianne we saw. So hop aboard the Isle for all that plus yet more tourney talk, what Dornish family wants what, Sylva Santagar theories, what future trouble Arianne could get into, and a whole bunch of Daenerys talk as we finally begin to merge! Well, here we are my fellow green chums. For the hundredth time, we step upon the Isle. Wowsers. But there'll have to be time for mind-blowing later. For now we kick off not only our new 100Qs series but we welcome new part-time co-host Emily of the Eyrie for the very first time. After some explaining, thanking, and introducing, Emily and I go through the first ten of our hundred Winds questions, ones that we encourage you to send in your own answers to (as well as some more questions if you have them!) Today's puzzlers include: - Which POV will die first? - What will Jon Snow be like upon his resurrection? - What is the fate and future of Meera Reed? - Which non-titled POV will gain a title? - And plenty more! So come along, celebrate the century mark, welcome Emily, and settle down for question time (and of course let us know how you like the new episode!) Returned from our break and ready for a new era comes this, the 99th episode of THE ISLE OF FACES. After long last, we return to our dearest Sansa. In our longest Winds preview chapter yet we are back in a Vale on the edge. Winter is held at bay for now, but we are switching the bloody sands of Meereen for the deepest court intrigues of the Valemen. Sansa Stark, now oceans deep in the persona of Alayne Stone, is still playing the mother role to Sweetrobin, but change is afoot as the Knights of the Vale arrive to compete in a new tourney. Among them is Harry the Heir, the man who could mean complete change to many. He, says Petyr Baelish, is Sansa's mission. He is the next rung on the ladder. Today we see how Sansa is more than prepared for the challenge. Step aboard the Isle for a reminder of what is coming in Episode 100, a discussion on Sansa's own gatekeeping sins in terms of Sweetrobin, how tactically brilliant the idea of a tourney is for winning the Vale, what Petyr Baelish might be planning on the political, westerosi-wide scene, and just how Sansa's latest skills interact with her true self. And yes, I do get just a teeny bit sweary about a certain someone. On this, our big announcement day, we are also visiting the Winds preview chapters once more. We are sticking in Slaver's Bay for more Battle of Fire talk as Barristan Selmy first prepares for the coming battle, especially in the care of his young trainees and his own tactics, but we finally, finally, get to see the start of the battle. In Barristan II the forces of Meereen roar out of the city gates to face down the Yunkish army, and at their head is a kingsguard atop a silver horse. The action comes left right and centre as Barry fights tooth and nail for everything Daenerys Targaryen brought to this part of the world. He rides for justice, he rides for his men, he rides for fire. In amongst all that we have a bunch of strategy talk, yet more condemnation of the Yunkish command, what Barristan is trying to make up for, the three thousand possible futures to come after the battle, and mostly about how damn cool this guy is and how lucky we are to see the battle through his eyes. It is finally here! The Isle of Faces is BACK! We return with a look through to the uncertain futures, the promises of plots and dramas and stories still to come, the drip feed on which we sustain ourselves as we look to the horizon. I refer of course to the pre-released The Winds of Winter preview chapters. And today we start with a bang. Not only our biggest character with a preview chapter, but two of them! (Well kinda). We rejoin Tyrion on the edge of a devastating battle as he tries to swing fortune back to his side before the chaos reaches him and all the horror with it. Come aboard for a hearty welcome back as well as guesses on Tyrion's latest Cyvasse game, what the dragons could get up to, and how two sellsword companies might react to one another when they clash- especially if Tyrion should meet a certain Dornish pair. And that's just Tyrion I. In Tyrion II we reflect on the emotional trauma of battle that has left an imprint on Tyrion. How guilt assaults him in this most precious of moments. How him FINALLY dealing with his Shae issues actually goes terribly, terribly wrong as his anger lashes out at Penny. And of course...HOW DAMN STUPID THE YUNKISH LEADERSHIP IS! IT'S WORSE THAN EVER. THE MAN'S NAME IS PUDDING FACE! And of course, much much more. Welcome back all. Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley Thanks as always!
Hello! Welcome back. Kinda. Before we actually get there, there's choices to be made. Where do you want the Isle of Faces to go next? What do you want covering? What do you NOT want covering? Now is the time to have your voice heard. Tune into this quick episode to hear a whole bunch of options. Once you've done that you can find the ISLE OF FACES google form where you can let your opinions be heard, here: https://forms.gle/2Rzt6YpRXCvNhxrr8 Many many thanks for your time. Here's to the next!
Well chums, we did it. Somehow, someway, we have come to the grand finale of this reread project, and what a time it's been! How do we note such an occasion? With a 5 hour podcast last week, and a 4.5 hour one this time. We're going out with a bang!! Before we do the mushy stuff three chapters still remain. In them, Barristan Selmy takes control of a city while planning a war. He says goodbye to the sun's son, begins to make plots of his own, and all round gets the blood moving. In the Dothraki Sea Daenerys Targaryen confronts past decisions, both right and wrong, to choose a new path entirely while on the brink of death. And finally Kevan Lannister hears tales of coming invasions, smugly thinks of his success in Cersei, before death and secrets step out of the shadows with crossbow in hand. Our FINAL chapters are: - Barristan IV/ The Queen's Hand - Daenerys X - Kevan Lannister Hop aboard the Isle for...everything, to be honest. It's four and a half hours long, what don't we talk about? The chins will wag on Barristan's scheming for hostages, the diversity of his knights and council, what the Harpies are up to now, and we take a BIG wade into what the Battle of Fire could look like from all angles. After that is a focus on what Viserys represents to Dany (and what would have happened if he got the eggs), the meaning and imagery of Ghost Grass, and the self-sacrifice that comes with trying to be the good guy and realising you must cause pain in order to do so. Plus, how do you actually learn to dragonride, and just how much does George want us thinking of GoT here at the end? Finally, questions on Loras, Jaime's reactions, Genna coming east, the welcoming party for Dany and what a certain MASSIVE reveal means overall. Plus, you know, lots of saying thank you for the incredible journey. HUZZAH! FIVE HOURS! Five hours long! It is the biggest episode of the Isle of Faces EVER! BY MILES!! This is what the end of ADWD does to us, for today we have four of the final chapters of the books, three goodbyes to major POVS, and more big moments than you would believe. In fact, we may well have the biggest in all ASOIAF. Tyrion Lannister prepares for battle while also planning on how to turn the war. Barristan Selmy takes control of a city, faces down his oaths, and then breaks a king by busting out his trusty sword. Quentyn Martell dares to dream of blood and fire only to find the terrible reality of dragons. And far away, on the snowy Wall, Jon Snow receives a letter, turns away from the north, and changes his plans. At least, that is the idea. Of course, our chapters today are: - Tyrion XII - Barristan III/ The Kingbreaker - Quentyn IV/ The Dragontamer - Jon XIII So hop aboard the Isle (bring a cushion though) for a discussion on...everything. It's five hours long, what DON'T we talk about? But among those many things are how Tyrion breaks the reality of battle to Penny and the reignition of Jorah, how Barristan's chapter focuses on three of the main aspects of knighthood, how Gerris & Archibald are the best friends in the world, how Quentyn is both right and wrong, and then EVERYTHING you could ever think about Jon and everything going on at Castle Black. From Hardhome to Val to Ghostie to the Pink Letter to the new plan to how much we love Jon to the most famous of endings...EVERYTHING. The end begins in truth this week, and we welcome it with another 3-hour-plus corker for you all. Specifically, this week is Feast week as we wave goodbye to all four POVs amidst chapters full of horror, fanaticism, and cliffhangers a-plenty. Fires are lit up in the snowy north as Asha watches the burning of living humans before a huge surprise comes out of the storm. Victarion has his own atrocious burnings in the waters of Slaver's Bay as he and his burned arm continue to spread misery. Then things take a turn as we head to Braavos to discover the deep, dark, magical secrets of the House of Black and White, the ones with faces and assassinations. As if that were not enough we end with one of the most infamous, most terrible events in the series: Cersei Lannister's walk of shame. The big moments do not stop coming in this one Today's goodbyes include: - Asha III/ The Sacrifice - Victarion II/ Victarion I - Arya II/ The Ugly Little Girl - Cersei II So jump aboard the Isle for discussions on why George has structured these four goodbyes all at once and how he weaves themes of horror and religious extremism through each and every one of them to signal the end of days. Come and talk on the view of the men burned by Stannis Baratheon and the morality of their punishment, on the truth behind what is happening with Victarion and Moqorro and who's controlling who. Marvel at the magical system of face swapping, wonder about the overall aims of the Faceless Men rushing Arya's education and where it points her future, and have a long talk about the real intent behind Cersei's punishment, the true evilness of Kevan Lannister, and precisely how her breaking will change her as we look towards Winds. This week, a breather. By which I mean we come in at just under three hours! The end of the Dance keeps coming as we hit double Meereen, have double returns, and one hell of a big event in the North. Today we start large as Jon Snow opens the Wall and allows the wildlings to finally enter the Seven Kingdoms, Barristan Selmy watches the political fallout in terms of Meereen vs Yunkai, Quentyn Martell reveals a hell of a plan while ignoring his much smarter friends, and Jon Connington returns to the shores of Westeros in the name of conquest. Today's chapters are: - Jon XII - Barristan II/ The Discarded Knight - Quentyn III/ The Spurned Suitor - Jon Connington II/ The Griffin Reborn Jump ashore on the Isle for an indepth dive on Jon's dream of protecting the Wall, the gloom of a snow sky, and what it means for the people leaving their world behind. Elsewhere we muse on Hizdahr's intentions (again) and lambast Barristan for his poor thinking and underappreciation of both Daenerys and Quentyn. Speaking of, we ignore Quentyn to admire the wisdom of his friends, specifically Gerris Drinkwater and his focus on life over death. Finally, we finally get to talk Stormlands! And castle assaults! As well as Rhaegar, the potential evil of Jon Con, and how all of Westeros will react to this growing invasion. How do you follow up the longest ever episode? By making the second longest ever episodes I guess! Yes it seems the end of Dance is really going to put us through our paces as the Isle has another three and a half hours of boogie time. And how to follow the big events of last week? By filling in the hole with new POVS! Here on welcome week we say hello to Cersei live from the penitentiary, we officially meet Barristan in a tightening Meereenese knot, remeet Victarion in some very very different waters, and to tie us back to what we know as the Tyrion of old truly returns in order to save the lives of he, Penny, and Jorah from slavery as battle looms... Today's chapters are: - Cersei I - Barristan I/ The Queensguard - Victarion I/ The Iron Suitor - Tyrion XII Come visit our Isle for talks on how George is structuring his final act so differently than the first four books, how Cersei has learnt exactly ZERO lessons during her jail time and how actually loopy she is, the self-made chains of Barristan in terms of the difference between oaths and the right thing, the potential of his end coming via a Faceless Man, Victarion's stupidity regarding Daenerys, wonders on what the hell is going on with his hand, and especially on Tyrion taking on the role of responsibility while coming so close to despair and exactly why he wasn't allowed a glimpse at Drogon... It's here! THE RECORD-BREAKER! Yes it is the longest-ever episode on the Isle of Faces with nearly FOUR HOURS of content for you to consume. And why so much chin-wagging? Because we've come to a major part of the book where we have not one but two of the biggest moments in the entire series going back-to-back! With no offense to Daenerys learning lessons of betrayal and teaching ones of dragons, or Jon making a monumental deal on the Wall that might seal his own fate, the big focus of today is the final, thrilling chapter of Theon Greyjoy and his attempt to free Jeyne Poole from the clutches of evil. As if that isn't enough for us Daenerys heads to Daznak's Pit for fights, final middle fingers to Meereen, and fire made flesh as Drogon returns and DANY FINALLY RIDES HER DRAGON. It doesn't get much bigger than this. Today's gigantic chapters are: - Daenerys VIII - Theon VII/ Theon I - Daenerys IX - Jon XI Hop on the Isle for extended chats about...well, everything. The monumental placing of chapters this important, what Dany was trying to convey in her dragon exhibition, the lessons of sellswords, Jon's big mistake in the Weeper, the chances of Val meeting her end as a wight, who the hell Rowan is, and the shedding symbolism of Meereen. That plus Jeyne Poole, the thrill of the moment, and Dany+Dragon= One. Absolutely everything is crumbling inside Winterfell and we LOVE IT. Theon witnesses the collapse of the Bolton alliance via several mysterious murders while having his own breakthroughs. Meanwhile, outside Meereen Tyrion copes surprisingly well with his new life as a slave. At Castle Black it's time for a wedding that binds both sides of the Wall. And far more interestingly, JAIME'S BACK. For one day only we head back to the Riverlands, finish a war, manage a feud, take a hostage, hunt a Blackfish, learn some history, and then meet an old friend, with a special friend, and an urgent quest...HUZZAH FOR JAIME Today's chapters are: - Theon VI/ The Ghost of Winterfell - Tyrion X - Jaime I - Jon X Come on over to the Isle for in-depth talks on how the Bolton's unequal power structure is their own outdoing, exactly how the murders bring down the Bolton bubble with the power of whispers; the reignition of Tyrion's skills combined with taking care of Penny, Ser Jorah's pitiful breaking and the set up for the outer Meereen arc; a look into the history of the Blackwoods, the very special relationship between Tytos and Jaime and how his approach both works and suffers, as well as where Jaime might head to in Winds, and how Alys is essentially 5 year gap Arya, and Jon's new best friend. We love our Alys! It's a very special reunion day here on the Isle. Firstly we get just our second Asha chapter as true winter lands and scatters all Stannis's royal plans to the winds. In Meereen the grand moment arrives for Quentyn as his long journey ends in front of Daenerys Targaryen, herself just hours from her second, dreaded wedding. Up at Winterfell Jon welcomes (kind of) Selyse Baratheon and her contingent before discovering the truth of Melisandre's fire vision of a girl and a horse. Leading us to clearly the important moment of the day....ARYA IS BACK!!! Our chapters today are: - Asha II/ The King's Prize - Daenerys VII - Jon IX - Arya I/ The Blind Girl So jump on over to the Isle and chatter about Asha adapting to her new reality with equal parts bravery and resignation, the absolute military disaster that is the Deepwood-Winterfell march, Daenerys' temptation in the news of the world she calls home and what could have been for her, Jon's well-intentioned but flawed plan for food as well as the intro to a whole new character, and how Arya deserves recognition not just for her assassin skills but her warging abilities too. Oh, and the fact she is ONE HUNDRED AND TEN PERCENT STARK!Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley Thanks as always!
The United Kingdom is back in its third lockdown. We need to do this one properly. This is a short, simple message from myself begging my fellow countrymen (and all those across the world) to stay home wherever possible and do this lockdown PROPERLY. We've been given another chance, let's not waste this one too. You can save lives, it's within your power, so do it.
YOUR ISLE RETURNETH! Yes we are back for another year of Scrapping and Scrolling as we dive right back into the Dance with another four classic chapters. This week we hit the sunshine hard as we return for our one and only trip to Dorne to set up the future plots of Doran, Arianne, and the Sand Snakes; Jon sends off his last hope of gaining the wildlings while putting Bowen Marsh and his cronies in their place; an even worse storm strikes Tyrion and company, sending them down an even darker path; and finally we return to Winterfell to see cracks in the Bolton alliance, the first fall of snow, a lonely Theon, and revelations down in the crypts. Today's amazing chapters are: - Areo Hotah I/ The Watcher - Jon VIII - Tyrion IX - Theon V/ The Turncloak So hop aboard the Isle, firstly so we can welcome to back to our shores, but also to have a chat about the possible secret motivations of each Sand Snake in Winds, Areo Hotah's specific role and placing in this book, Jon just being an amazing person even at his own personal cost, the similarity between Tyrion and Jorah as men who projected love onto women who never loved them back, and then everything wintery about Winterfell and the subtle clues of how this is all going to end up for Team Roose, as well as more rediscoveries of true Theon Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley Thanks as always!
It felt like it half-killed me to get it ready for you. But it is HERE and it is A MONSTER. Welcome, to the longest-ever episode of the Isle of Faces!!And why the incredible length? Because today we have not one but two of the most important chapters of the entire book and two of the major tentpoles of the series. We begin in a deep dark cave with deep dark secrets as Brandon Stark awakens his abilities even at the cost of his friends and we discover the true, awesome power of the weirwood trees. Yes, we're headed back in time. Smaller in scale though no less enjoyable is Jon Snow going on his own nostalgia trip as he heads back to the weirwood grove to make friends with a giant, Daenerys gets her own key leadership moment among the Astapori before betrayal is revealed to her, and then that scale mounts right back up again as Theon returns us to our first love...Winterfell, in a chapter rife with mystery, memory, and above all...pain. Our amazing chapters today are: - Bran III - Jon VII - Daenerys VI - Theon IV/ The Prince of Winterfell So hop aboard the Isle for a chit-chat about... well what don't we talk about today? There are discussions on Bran's torture of Hodor, what might have happened to Meera Reed, and the thousands of possibilities opened up to us via the weirwood. There is Jon sending yet more friends away but also showing off his leadership in the field. There is Daenerys finally succumbing to the need for something good for once and her mini-victories against the terrible Meereenese wedding customs. And there is just about everything in Winterfell. The importance of the godswood, what Mance is upto, Theon's place as a Stark, Winterfell's failed purpose, and above all a very, very difficult talk on the tragedy of Jeyne Poole complete with some extremely loud cursing about the man who put her there. We return to our four chapter format today. Know how I know? Because we have what might be our longest ever episode at over THREE HOURS! What's the reason for that? Is it Daenerys having to rethink strategy when she learns of Astapor's fate? Is it our sickly episode of At Home with the Boltons? Is it even Tyrion's next voyage upon the waves, now with a very significant new companion? Yes, it is those things but it's also the fact we have MELISANDRE'S POV!! The walking secret herself opens up to show us tricks, visions, and oh so many shadows as her fiery fingers wrap around one Jon Snow Our chapters today are: - Daenerys V - Melisandre I - Theon III - Tyrion VIII So hop aboard the Isle for a chinwag about the smoothness of Ben Plumm's betrayal or Dany starting to show some cracks. Come and wade through both the stupidity and sickening evil of two generations of Bolton. Chat about Penny's role within the story, her effect on Tyrion, and whether Quaithe was actually warning about Jorah Mormont, or come for a big talk on how Mel's irresponsibility and influence with fire visions might prove to be her most devastating power yet as well as plenty more on visions, powers, potential enemies, and ultimate intent with the life and loyalty of Jon Snow Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley Thanks as always!
It's another three chapter week as we hit Volantis for the longest outing of the book. Tyrion starts a new part of his journey (again) and Jorah gets owned by the Widow (ha!). Back in Westeros Jon is having a rough time in the training yard, a harder time reading letters, and the hardest time with his Ghostie, and then we forget all about that as we reach one of the very best chapters in ASOIAF: Davos IV. It's a bitter goodbye, but what a damn send off in terms of speech, drama, and excitement Our chapters today are: - Tyrion VII - Jon VI -Davos IV Hop aboard the Isle for how Volantis is prepped for a chaotic slave rebellion, how Jorah is a dullard with rocks for brains and what he might think of Jon Connington. We review the Kill the Boy/Send everyone Away strategy of Jon Snow before wondering if songs/music are the key to both dragons AND direwolves (clue is in the name), before a long old chat on the wondrousness that is Davos IV. The speech, the plans, THE SPIRIT OF THE STARKS RETURNING. It's all in there this time. And of course, we wave goodbye to the best. Welcome to a brand new era of the Dance! For one day only we abandon the mighty triforce to focus on not one but TWO brand new POVs, with a second chapter for a fella we've only just met. Against a backdrop of establishing what's coming to Meereen in the second act we see Tyrion's suggestions come to fruition in the Golden Company as the fate of the world is changed, we see how brutal battle can be in Astapor, even for a winning side, and then back in Westeros we get even luckier as we return to a fan favourite: Asha Greyjoy. And while she shows off vulnerability, leadership, and fury, the war in the north truly begins with a battle in the trees: Today's brand spanking new chapters are: - The Lost Lord/ Jon Connington I - The Windblown/ Quentyn II - The Wayward Bride/ Asha I Hop aboard the Isle for a chin wag on the wary empathy we can have with Jon Connington and his sense of loss, the moral make-up of the Golden Company and what it means for Westeros now they are coming, I thank George for the viewpoint of a newbie in war, there's a big look at how RIDICULOUS the Yunkish warlords are, plus analysis of the Theon the Latecomer idea, and how the North itself is made an actual enemy fighting against Asha, as well as lots of talk about how awesome she is in general. Fighter, lover, leader: captain. Somehow, the episodes just keep getting longer and the chapters just keep getting important....er. This week on Scraps and Scrolls we have two highs of ultimate leadership, self-sacrifice, King & Queenship, and the ultimate importance of duty above all else. But to offset that we also have two terrible, horrible, lowest of the lows in settings that could hardly be more different in Moat Cailin and Selhorys. And in amongst them all, a Cyvasse game that could very well decide the future of the entire series... Today's chapters are: - Reek/ Theon II - Jon V - Tyrion VI - Daenerys IV Hop aboard the Isle for discussions on the terror of the crannogmen and the use of memory comparison for Theon's revival, how Jon easily outdoes Stannis AGAIN when it comes to his own kingly moment, and Daenerys playing Scottie Pippen defence against superbly structured arguments of the political but also the flames of her own heart. All that, plus a long long talk on Tyrion's PERFECT pitch to Young Griff and his own manipulation of a young spirit before we tackle one of the toughest parts of the entire series in Tyrion and the Sunset Girl. *Warning*: There are parts of the Tyrion chapter not all listeners will want to listen to. I certainly wouldn't have spoken about it if I had the choice. When we reach that part of the show I have included a 'Skip to this point' if you would like to bypass that discussion entirely. As always, please get in touch if you feel I did not handle this extremely sensitive point properly Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley
We hit the quarterish mark of Dance by returning to our normal four chapter slate, and we've got our big three mixed with a fan fave today. War comes to Meereen from every angle at the same time war grows in the north, and it's just a little bit influenced by Jon Snow. Things get real creepy- and real important- on the Rhoyne and the Shy Maid, while Davos Seaworth steps into the Mermen's Court armed with his loyalty, his bravery, and not much else. Today's chapters are: - Daenerys III - Jon IV - Tyrion V - Davos III Step aboard the Isle for some conversations on Daenery's sexual awakening in Dance, the temptation she is tested with (it ain't her last), Jon's incredible skill and value up in the north (with his own temptation), Tyrion entering the world of the horror chapter, how our view of the whole series changes with this one chapter, and how Davos III might be the best ever chapter for our rereading project Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://twitter.com/SerBuckley https://patreon.com/IsleOfFaces
Today will be a day of worry, concern, and stress for many. The Isle of Faces has always served as a calm, relaxing eye of the storm that is central Westeros. The podcast has tried to replicate that same feeling. Today we expand that role into the real world, to help however we can The Isle of Faces Discord is a place for NO ELECTION CHAT (aside from very small pressure release spaces). If you can't bear to watch the news today or if you just need some distraction, a few laughs, a place to make you feel better, then this is the place for you. It is completely open to patrons and the general public. It has all your usual rules of being nice and kind and not a dick to anybody. There'll be ASOIAF chat, there'll be other nerdy things, I've no doubt pet pictures will show up at some point. You can even talk about the podcast if you really wish. Whatever it is, it's to help provide an alternative to the outside world if only for a day. ***You can find the Discord Server here: https://discord.gg/DpNNPAhB ***
You think the Dance episodes have been monsters so far? You've seen nothing yet! On today's FIVE chapter episode we have one of the most incredible runs in all ASOIAF in terms of major events. Today we have the locking away of dragons, the reveal that Theon Greyjoy lives, Bran meeting Bloodraven, Tyrion working out he sails besides a king AND we get more Davos. They do get much more important than that. Today's super chapters are: - Daenerys II - Theon I/Reek - Bran II - Tyrion IV - Davos II Hop aboard the Isle for ponderings on whether Quaithe is subtly pushing Daenerys to embracing the dragon, the emotional guilt fallout of her decision with said dragons, how Theon is made to be an active participant in his own captivity & torture, plenty of Meera Reed being AWESOME, an absolutely confirmed theory of Tyrion's tumbling capabilities being activated by dragonblood, and actually being able to enjoy Davos FREELY do his thing for once. Let the man work! It's double trouble as we get our first dual chapters from a POV. Join Jon waving goodbye to friends and making himself feel better with Longclaw. Watch Tyrion embark on a new and even more important part of his journey. Forget the first two entirely because DAVOS IS BACK. Where is he? What's he doing? Who cares? DAVOS IS BACK! Then end as we began, back on the Wall for a brand new fire show from Stannis and Melisandre. Today's chapters are: - Jon II - Tyrion III - Davos I - Jon III Step aboard the Isle this week for a discussion on comic books, the introduction of the incredibly important Kill the Boy mantra, an assessment of the greatest evidence we ever get for Young Griff being Illyrio's son: candied ginger, some thinking on what would have happened had Stannis hung around down south until Tywin died, and finally how Stannis' hollow offer to the wildlings reflects his own hollow hero's journey, no matter how fancy the fire looks. We started Dance off with a monster episode, so why change the format? Today, over the course of nearly three hours, the Isle and its Green Folk are introduced to grown-up Jon and his many responsibilities. Stannis leans over a map and broods, Melisandre says some something freaky. It's all new! To keep with that freshness Bran and company are struggling to get somewhere, and their wondering about the health of their new guide. Things are more relaxed as Tyrion and Illyrio roll through Essos, chatting the day away about Blackfyres and intentions and dragons. Finally, we are introduced to a brand new POV in Quentyn Martell. While he's busy shooting down solutions we go deep on him and his chums and the tragedy of their noble quest. If you hadn't guessed, today we look at: - Jon I - Bran I -Tyrion II - Quentyn I/The Merchant's Man You need only hop aboard to discuss Jon's underrated political skill as he deals with an intimidating king, his own inner turmoil of wolf vs crow (again), the beautiful hurt of seeing the world through Jojen & Meera Reed's eyes, Tyrion sniffing the power he's always wanted in dragon form, and Quentyn as a continuation of Feast plus the supreme friendship of both Gerris Drinkwater & Archibald Yronwood. You can see why it took three hours Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://Patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley
THE ISLE OF FACES RETURNS! Come one, come all, back to our beloved Isle after a long layoff. Yes, Valar Rereadis has restarted and we've finally come to the final book of our grand project. Come for the friendship, stay for the most evil chapter of them all. Make no mistake, Dance starts as it means to go on. In today's monster episode we blend future warnings of Bran and Jon in with our very first non-warg Stark, we answer the greatest cliffhanger of the series: what happened to Tyrion, and we establish that being a queen is not quite the dream for our beloved Daenerys in another long-awaited return. Today's chapters are: -Varamyr -Tyrion I -Daenerys I Welcome back for this final part of our journey, dear friends. Hop aboard the Isle for chit chat about the dark future of the Stark children, the similar darkness now present in Tyrion and the disgusting way he takes it out on the world, and celebrate George's amazing ability to present new angles and stories for something we considered straightforward in the taking of Meereen. That, and bunches of audio hugs as we welcome you back. LET'S GO! How's the break treating you all? Need refreshing about Dance before we get there? Can't quite remember who's supposed to be ruling or where that person was sailing? There's dragons right? Yes. Both physically and thematically? Sure. Wait, run it by me again, are we talking about Jon? No, Aegon. Aemon? No, Young Griff. The lost lord guy? No. Look, let's cut our losses. Probably best choice is to hop aboard the Isle, discuss who does what, where they do it, maybe even some why. Mainly we're looking at the amount of chapters each pov gets, how it compares to other books, how those chapters are structured, how the themes intermingle, and of course, lots and lots of CHAPTER SEQUENCING. I run through each POV's arc, where everyone is, what they are upto and the kind of thing we'll be dealing with going forward when Valar Rereadis restarts. Basically, come nerd a bit about A Dance With Dragons! WE DID IT! Light the fireworks and ring the bells, here we wave goodbye to an absolutely fantastic, perfectly singular book in our series. There really is nothing quite like Feast. No surprise it requires our biggest episode EVER. Today I discuss the brilliance of its anti-war message, the joy of focusing on the people rather than the titles, and that's all with trying to not comment too much on the overall! As for our chapters we must suffer through the brutality of Brienne's reward, as well as truly seeing what has become of the Brotherhood without Banners, every one of Cersei's mistakes comes to find her in the depths of the Sept of Baelor in what is a pretty good day for King's Landing in general, Jaime completes his victory at Riverrun, topping it off with some smacks to Spicers, Freys, and his own sister, and Sam finally brings us back to Oldtown to meet Marwyn, the Glass Candle, and a really, really big bunch of questions. Today's final chapters: -Brienne VIII -Cersei X - Jaime VII - Sam V So hop aboard the Isle for one last discussion on Feast and for some final goodbyes. There is a whole bunch to talk about (hence the three hours), but you might want to come for the examination of Stoneheart using guest right as a trap, Brienne's terrible penance, Cersei's great crimes coming to haunt her, Riverrun's end as the second true 'home' of the series, Jaime's growth to responsibility in the snow, his reply to a certain letter, the gamechanging of glass candles, my long-awaited counting of maester mentions, and a whole bunch more! Thank you all for joining us for Feast, it's been a hell of a ride Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://twitter.com/SerBuckley
We are reaching the endzone, and it shows in today's monster episode. We begin with heading back to Riverrun and saying hi to Brynden, Edmure, and Jaime's dark side. Cersei completely outdoes him as she practices her baseball swing with a lute. Then we get back to the goodbyes as we rejoin the Dornish plot atop the Spear Tower before sliding back down from the Eyrie to the ground below as the plan for Sansa's future, the one that includes poisoning a kid and basically selling her off, shapes the future. Today's chapters are: - Jaime VI - Cersei IX - The Princess In The Tower/ Arianne II - Alayne II/ Sansa III Step aboard the Isle for talk of the relationship between two famous knights who hate eachother, for nothing short of evil madness down in the black cells, for me trying to pronounce 'Ser Shadrich' again, and most importantly how Doran Martell's philosophy is actually the same message as Brienne VII: protect the innocents, whatever that requires of you as we tie this whole book together and look to the horizon...to see dragons coming straight for us. I could talk about us reaching double figures, about saying goodbye to Arya as she says goodbye to sight (and Dareon). There's much to say about Brienne celebrating the celebrated death of Loras. The funeral of Aemon Targaryen is tempting as a topic, but if I'm honest none of them matter. Not when we have Brienne IV, the 'no chance, no choice' chapter. AKA THE chapter of ASOIAF Today's chapters are: - Cat of the Canals/ Arya III - Samwell IV - Cersei VIII - Brienne VII Step aboard the Isle for talk of Arya, Sam, Cersei, and plenty of Aemon, sure. But really, come and step out into the rain with me as we work our way through one of the happiest scenes in the entire series mixed with a straight up battle of good and evil. Come witness the perfect weaving of themes not just from Brienne's arc but from all five books'. Come and watch the truest knight and the bravest hero do what our original hero only ever wanted to do. Come and keep some oaths with us Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://twitter.com/SerBuckley https://patreon.com/IsleofFaces
Does Jaime want a Brienne sandwich or a Cersei sandwich? My friends, put your hands together. Yes the three biggest characters of the book unite for today's episode where Jaime hunts down Lancel in Darry, Brienne finds a living ghost on the beautiful Quiet Isle, Cersei SOMEHOW gets even worse than usual with Taena & Falyse, before Jaime meets Daven and Genna Lannister and we finally return to Riverrun. HURRAY! Today's chapters are: - Jaime IV - Brienne VI - Cersei VII - Jaime V Step aboard the Isle to continue seeing Jaime in his element in the field, the Studio Ghibli feel of the Quiet Isle while Brienne becomes even more beautiful with her promises, talks of Loras on Dragonstone and Pycelle getting smarter by the chapter, and finally the invention of Peck-Pod, the next big squire-based cop-buddy hit coming to your screens soon! You might think only three chapters would mean less to talk about. And you'd be wrong. Today we reach MAJOR plot turning points for three different povs and for three different areas of Westeros. Jaime leaves King's Landing to bring justice to the Riverlands as Mr Goldenhand. Cersei meets the infamous High Sparrow and makes the decision that is easily her worst yet, essentially kicking off her own doom. And speaking of doom, we wave goodbye to the ironborn in Feast as Euron's campaign truly begins, and Victarion sets his sights across the world. Today's chapters are: - Jaime III - Cersei VI - Victarion II/ The Reaver Hop aboard the Isle not only for a slightly different recording location, but some chat on other series', a whole bunch of Ilyn Payne talk (even comparing him to an Other!), the magnificence of the High Sparrow's control over the queen, and how smart Euron is politically with his rewards and punishments, if still really creepy. Oh, and we have what might be our most content Jaime ever. Back on the road, sharing blackberries, cracking jaws in the name of Brienne the Beauty. It's back to our regularly scheduled programming as we head back to both Cersei and Brienne in our first foray into the second half of AFFC. Specifically, we see Petyr Baelish destroy the Lords Declarant in a political tennis match, Cersei's well-thought out plans (HA!) are crumbling already as Tommen puffs up his chest, Brienne returns to Maidenpool before setting out again with a new squad, and Samwell Tarly swings a mean right hook over in Braavos. Today's chapters are: - Alayne I/Sansa II - Cersei V - Brienne V - Samwell III Hop aboard the Isle for chit chat on how Sansa remembers her name, Tommen's monumental decision to outlaw beets, some great but short enjoyment of the Arya-Sam pairing, and of course, pure unrestrained adoration of the Broken Man speech. All that plus curse words aimed at Randyll Tarly. A lot of them. Slightly later than usual (and thank you all so much for your patience), we come to roughly HALFWAY through Feast for Crows and celebrate with our lone Cersei-less week. No Jaime either, no King's Landing. Instead we focus two on those two periphreal plots hitting the big time and changing direction forever. Today we have the Kingsmoot and the Queenmaker plot. And in between, Brienne and Oathkeeper dealing bitter, bloody justice and Arya trying, and utterly failing, to become No One Today's chapters: - Aeron II/ The Drowned Man - Brienne IV - Arianne I/ The Queenmaker - Arya II Jump aboard the Isle for discussions on exactly how Euron combines and beats the arguments of Asha and Victarion, how there's no such thing as a win in Brienne's world, why Myrcella is so goddamn awesome, and how its much more than just Needle's hiding that proves Arya Stark is going nowhere in terms of being No One Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley
Cersei's reign is here in full swing. And it is DAMN HILARIOUS. King's Landing empties, allies and swords are all but gone, the Small Council is at its smallest, and Cersei thinks its all fantastic. Today we have Cersei's happiest chapter of the book, Jaime realising his sister is becoming like someone else he once knew, while Asha makes a much-ignored great pitch prior to the Kingsmoot and Sam makes big, terrible discoveries on his own ship Today we have: - Sam II - Jaime II - Cersei IV - Victarion I/ The Iron Captain Jump onto the Isle to discuss the strength of Gilly and the growth of Sam, the sheer maths of the King's Landing losses, how nothing is ever Cersei's problem, and a lot of talk about Asha even when we're in Victarion's POV Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://twitter.com/SerBuckley https://Patreon.com/IsleOfFaces
