Asha tries to bring her mother's family to her aid in gaining the Seastone Chair. But she  hadn't heard of her uncle Aeron's call to a Kingsmoot. She thinks she can win by force of reason, but her family think that uncle Euron's wealth and magic might prevail. Mackelly and Simon rattle Nagga's bones.Chapter ReviewAsha Greyjoy is on Harlaw, the wealthiest and most populous of the Iron Islands. Her mother was a Harlaw, and their Lord Rodrik has called his bannermen to support Asha's claim to the Seastone Chair. There are many, but Asha's knows deep down that there aren't enough. She arranges for her captives, the Glovers, to be treated with respect and her men to be properly fed. She then seeks out her uncle who, as is his wont, is reading. Rodrik tells her of Aeron's plan to host a Kingsmoot on Great Wyk. This is news to Asha. Euron will go, there is no word from Victarion. She believes she can convince the captains, as the only descendent of Balon. But Rodrik warns her not to go. They'll never accept a woman, Euron has already moved to bribe and intimidate the captains, and the history of Kingsmoots suggests that the losers don't get to leave in one piece. She takes her leave, knowing that despite his protestations, her uncle will be there. She meets Tristifer Botley, a childhood friend. He professes his love for her, but she denies it. He's saving himself for her, she's doing nothing of the sort. He's a lord now, worthy of her hand. But she tells him no. When he grabs at her, her knife is at his throat before he can blink. She's not his wife, she's his queen.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Asha Greyjoy - Daughter of King Balon Greyjoy.Balon Greyjoy - Recently deceased King of the Iron Islands.Euron Greyjoy - Recently returned brother of Balon.Victarion Greyjoy - Younger brother of Balon. This dope AF art of Euron at the Kingsmoot is by zippo514 and you can see the full version here, because I had to trim the length significantly for posting purposes: https://bit.ly/44l1sBw These chapters are The Iron Captain and The Drowned Man, and we're getting to see from Victarion's perspective for the first time. We find out that he's ALSO got major beef with Euron, which we get a lot more detail about than we do with Aeron, and once we meet Euron it's clear we're dealing with someone who is just not quite normal. Thanks a ton to all of you for listening, and we will see you next week with 2 more chapters! We've made it to yet another midpoint, and boy is this one a doozy. Building off the last couple episodes, this is where the tension and the action really takes off, with the episode ending with a shocking, out of nowhere battle as we witness the end of the Three Eyed Raven & the Children of the Forest, the beginning of Bran's ascent to the new position of Three Eyed Raven, the death of another Direwolf, and beloved Hodor. Oh Hodor. While it does raise a few logistical questions as this episode famously introduces time travel, the way it provides a perfect open and shut case of Hodor's condition as a result of Bran's meddling plays out poetically. Elsewhere, Sansa receives news from Littlefinger and her & Jon set out on their expedition to bring the fight to Ramsay's door. Daenerys says goodbye to Jorah, but orders him to find a cure to the greyscale, in a touching tribute to their time spent together. On the Iron Islands, the long awaited Kingsmoot takes place, with Yara losing rather easily to Euron, forcing her & Theon to go on the run. In Meereen, Tyrion enlists the help of a Red Priestess to start spreading the good word of Daenerys across the city, much to Varys' chagrin. In Braavos, Arya is given her first assignment since getting her eyesight back: to kill an actress named Lady Crane who's participating in a play satirizing the War of the 5 Kings. It's another action packed episode on this week's installment of Talkin' Thrones, available every Friday on the #talkintvpodcast --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talkintvpodcastgmailcom/support

Slightly later than usual (and thank you all so much for your patience), we come to roughly HALFWAY through Feast for Crows and celebrate with our lone Cersei-less week. No Jaime either, no King's Landing. Instead we focus two on those two periphreal plots hitting the big time and changing direction forever. Today we have the Kingsmoot and the Queenmaker plot. And in between, Brienne and Oathkeeper dealing bitter, bloody justice and Arya trying, and utterly failing, to become No One Today's chapters: - Aeron II/ The Drowned Man - Brienne IV - Arianne I/ The Queenmaker - Arya II Jump aboard the Isle for discussions on exactly how Euron combines and beats the arguments of Asha and Victarion, how there's no such thing as a win in Brienne's world, why Myrcella is so goddamn awesome, and how its much more than just Needle's hiding that proves Arya Stark is going nowhere in terms of being No One   Check out History of Westeros for the live streams and main analysis, plus how to get involved with the Flick community:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYwENpLDO4gyB4dBrMYrjQ  Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley

Cersei's reign is here in full swing. And it is DAMN HILARIOUS. King's Landing empties, allies and swords are all but gone, the Small Council is at its smallest, and Cersei thinks its all fantastic. "A girl has been given a second chance, there will not be a third." says Jaquen H'ghar to Arya as we kick off the continuation of Season 6 Game of Thrones Episodes 5, 6 & 7. In the lair of the Three-Eyed Raven, we learn about how the Night King was created. Over in the Iron Islands there is a Kingsmoot for the Salt Throne and Euron Greyjoy pulls off the upset. Meanwhile, Jorah Mormont reveals his greyscale to Daenerys which means his certain death and as he bids her farewell to Daenerys, she tells him "Do not walk away from your queen, Jorah the Andal. You have not been dismissed." at last forgiving him for his betrayal. Bran goes behind the Three-Eyed Raven's back and enters a vision on his own, only to realize his folly too late as the Night King is able to grab him by the wrist in the vision, marking him. The Three-Eyed Raven awakens and knows what has just happened and tell Bran that he must now become the new Three-Eyed Raven because the magic of the lair will no longer keep the Night King out since he marked Bran. Bran asks the Three-Eyed Raven if he is even ready to take on this task, the Three-Eyed Raven tells him no. At Castle Black, Jon Snow is preparing with his war council for the upcoming battle against Ramsay Bolton and the other houses of the North. They realize they are vastly outnumbered so Sansa sends Brienne to Riverrun to request assistance from her uncle Brynden the Blackfish. The Night King arrives at the lair and Meera, Hodor and Bran have to escape with some help from Summer and Leaf. Is it going to be enough though? It will all come down to someone holding a door closed against the many wights. As we cruise into Episode 6, we get an interesting reunion with a certain familiar First Ranger that we haven't seen since Season 1. Sam and Gilly meet Sam's family at Horn Hill which goes about as good as you could expect, Arya screws up her second chance with the faceless men and the High Sparrow outsmarts Cersei, Olenna and Jaime Lannister once more. Brynden the Blackfish has retaken Riverrun and Walder Frey learns of this from his sons and then commands them to retake it using a certain hostage. On the road back to Mereen, Daenerys finds Dragon and mounts him while giving a speech to her new Khalasar. She says, "“Ei khal fin thir nak haan okhe sen dothrakhqoy alo ji qisi mae m’auijazeri ath dineur mae vas ma anha vos khal. Anha vo vakkan sen dothrakhqoy. Anha okkak el yeri. I ask your oath, that you will live and die as blood of my blood; riding at my side to keep me safe from harm. I will ask more of you than any Khal has ever asked from a Khalasar! Will you ride the wooden horses across the Black Salt Sea? Will you kill my enemies in their iron suits and tear down their stone houses? Will you give me the Seven Kingdoms? The gift that Khal Drogo promised me before the mother of mountains as the stars looked down in witness? Are you with me now and always?!) of which she receives a resounding chorus of approval. Now moving into Episode 7, one of our favorite dirty dogs happens to be alive! Jon Snow and Tormund talk the wildlings into fighting with them against the Boltons to retake Winterfell. Jaime Lannister has to come to the Frey's aid with the Lannister army to take over the siege of Riverrun. Now with the wildings secured, Jon Snow, Sansa and Ser Davos take on the grueling task of trying to convince the other Northern houses to fight for them. In Bravos, Arya is gravely wounded from the waif and she may succumb to her wounds as nobody will help her. Meanwhile, The Hound loses the only friends he had and he's ready for revenge. Join the Riddikulus Crew for part 3 on the continuous winding river that is Season 6 of Game of Thrones. This season's breakdown is not for the faint of heart as we will conclude it's evaluation in 4 parts! In the words of Ser Davos "The real war isn't between a few squabbling houses, it's between the living and the dead. And make no mistake, the dead are coming."

This Small Council listener mail edition gets down to the nasty business of assigning blame for a questionable season 8, casting shade on the show runners, George R. R. Martin, and even poor Gene Lyons. As fans dig into "The Iron Throne," messages pour in to question Bran's legitimacy as king, Jon's right to be alive, the Kingsmoot's entire function, and why HBO's most successful series is ending. "Game of Thrones" is over, and we're having a hard time letting go. Our final On The Throne Deep Dive examines whether "The Iron Throne" helped or hurt this monumental series' legacy and why things ended the way they did. Gene and Big D discuss whether Bran was the right choice for King, whether justice was served, and what the heck the Dothraki do now that they're stranded in Westeros and don't get speaking roles. We couldn't bring you a "Game of Thrones" Season 9, but Gene argues the final episode of Season 8 had all the makings of its own season ... so he wrote it. And we reflect on each major characters farewell and how it fit his or her tale. Also, if you were confused about who the heck also those randos were at the Kingsmoot, we've got you covered. The Cast Beyond the Wall: A House of the Dragon Podcast

The ink has dried, the book has been written, and the door has closed on the life of Hodor the half-giant. This week's episode of Game of Thrones suffered one of the most emotional losses the show has seen yet and your hosts at The Cast Beyond the Wall are still cleaning up the tissues leading into this week's show. Hodor's sacrifice in The Door won't be forgotten, but we'd be remiss if we didn't talk about some of the other major turns and reveal throughout the episode.  The Cast of Caleb, Daniel, and Austin continue their tradition of inviting a guest to the rotating fourth host spot by talking with the director the upcoming Oklahoma film, Electric Nostalgia. When he's not working on releasing his film or producing his interview web series called Talkies, Jacob is also an avid Game of Thrones watcher with more than a few things to say about the series. This week's conversation has us talking about the unintended consequences of many of our heroes including the fallout between Sansa and Littlefinger, Bran's misuse of his own powers, and the outcome of the highly anticipated Kingsmoot. Before paying last respects to Hodor, we discuss the implications of Brans impact on the past and how this brings an entirely new element of time travel into the show's DNA. What are the new rules and what does the passing of the Three Eyed Raven mean for Bran?  What are your thoughts on Bran's newfound powers, Hodor's swan song, and the reveal about the white walkers? Join the conversation and let us know what you think! *This SobieCast contains content that is only intended for mature audiences. Listener Discretion Advised!* Welcome to Game of Rants: Oops I Made a White Walker! In the 7th SobieCast for Comicnoobs, Caitlin Macatee returns to the pod so Sobie and her can process the deaths of Episode 5 of Game of Thrones. In this therapy session, Sobie and Caitlin talk about how Littlefinger wore the brown pants for his meeting with Sansa, how she is masterminding Jon Snow and the North, and #Tarthbane is in full force (4:15), They also talk about Arya’s endgame for the entire series (17:35) with a Shakespeare tangent in lieu to the Braavosi players theater (20:00-23:10), Caitlin disproves of Ser Jorah’s Friendzone status by saying he was never in the Friendzone (25:35), Varys and Tyrion talking to the Red Priest of Meereen (33:00), how the Kingsmoot was a little anti-climatic for our liking (38:15), and the ramifications of Holding the Door for people, the origin stories for Hodor and the White Walkers (53:10). Other topics discussed in the pod include: Littlefinger jamming out to Drake during his travels AKA Littlefinger’s Views from the Veil, Brienne and Tormund’s shared Bearstory, Theon’s regenerating appendages, Danish Pacey from Dawson’s Creek is now the Iron King, Is there a shed full of dead Ironborn Kings who didn’t survive the drowning?, Sobie confuses the spice Spotted Dick with Salted Dick because its an Ironborn thing, the lyrics to Game of Thrones music adaptations (“Wouldn’t It Be Nice If We Had Dragons” “Oops I Made a White Walker”), and Bran the Drunk Driver. It's episode 5 and this season just keeps getting better and better. Julian and Dan breakdown this emotionally charged episode, which has proven to be another classic for the series, and one of our favourites to date. "The Door" is everything we know, love, and have come to expect from a Game of Thrones episode; combining political intrigue and genuine human conflict with a world of fantasy, magic, and mystery. Arya is faced with a new and dubious mission, Jon and Sansa plan to retake the North, the birth of the White Walkers is revealed, Jorah is given his final command, Tyrion invites a new ally to Meereen, the Ironborn hold a historic Kingsmoot, and, while testing his new abilities, Bran provokes an ancient enemy.
