Emily and I are back for another 10 questions, and it's our biggest episodes yet. We've got secret plots, we've got hoped-for vengeance, the crumbling of the Wall (or not), and dead (or not) POVs!   Specifically, today's questions include: - What will happen in the Winds prologue? - Will the Wall be down by the end of the book? - What will be the difference between book and show for Hodor and Shireen's deaths? - Whether Theon will be crowned - Which POVs we think won't make it out - Instances of vengeance we're looking forward to - Whether Loras is injured/ what the hell is happening on Dragonstone - If we'll get R+L=J confirmed, and how? - What other prizes Euron could own by the end - And how much time the rest of the books will cover   This one is a biggie! Thank you for both your questions and answers (some of which we get to at the beginning). Keep sending them both in!  But before you do join us on the Isle to hear us discuss how far south the dead will travel, what Sam can do at the Citadel, whether Euron will come north, Frey deaths, and so, so much prologue talk (though there can always be more)   Please do consider giving us a rating or review if you can, and find more of the Isle of Faces and other projects at https://www.patreon.com/IsleOfFaces https://twitter.com/SerBuckley https://twitter.com/emilyoftheeyrie Thanks as always!

The second episode, Stormborn, kicked the door down with swift elaboration on Azor Ahai.   Wut?   That’s the Song of Fire and Ice’s version of Jesus that is going to send the Night King and his army of the dead to somewhere very, very warm. This is huge in the theory land of book fandom, like R+L = J big. At some point soon, Dany and John will meet. Fangirl hearts are pitter pattering everywhere, this episode of the podcast included.   Just as high as the episode takes us, it also thoroughly grosses us out. Thanks again Citadel and your witchy ways. Then when you think you’re going to vomit, it washes you over with joy and sorrow when we see Nymeria again. Yes. That’s her.   We frequently imagine that we have somehow built up a tolerance to the reckless highs and lows to Game of Thrones, and that’s the narrative’s magic if there ever was one – because we haven’t.   Now it’s time to listen to us get all up in our feelings about all these things, too:   Verys and Dany confrontation Red Priestess and her dangerous prophecy Jaime & Tarly Balerion the Dread, Cersei and her mad scientist Olenna and clever men Greyworm & Missendai 4eva ARYA KNOWS ABOUT JON! AND SHE WENT HOME! Greyscale is gross AF Sansa is finally queen, but somehow, we end up down one Fucking Theon     As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments section and we will discuss on the next podcast.

With Game of Thrones season 7 (and winter!) finally here, we've been breaking down all sorts of theories here at Pure Fandom: The prince that was promised, Tyrion being a Targaryen, possible ideas for HBO's spinoff(s), and more. This week, right before the season 7 premiere, we're bringing you our own Mormont theory and how we believe the family is way more involved in the War Against Winter than what's been shown so far. In this Pure Fandom Podcast, co-founder and host Liz Prugh sits down with her husband and frequent guest-host Eric to break down how exactly they believe the Mormont family has played a pivotal role in the story of ice and fire, particularly Jon Snow. Tune in for details on: -A refresher on R+L=J (Rhaegar + Lyanna = Jon) and how Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen; -The Knight of the Laughing Tree story and how it's pivotal to R+L=J; -Who the Mormonts are: Jeor Mormont AKA the former Lord Commander of The Night's Watch, Ser Jorah Mormont, Lyanna Mormont, and Meage Mormont; -Why we believe that Jeor had abdicated his seat as Lord of Bear Mountain in The North to take his place at The Wall to await Jon Snow's arrival, knowing he was the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna; -And more crazy details on how Jeor and Ned were working together all along. The Season 6 finale of occurred awhile ago. Like, so long ago that I don't remember talking about it. Of course, I do smoke a lot of cannabis, so maybe that's why I (Mom) don't remember. In any case, I relistened to it today and it's quite funny! So there ya go. Listen to Mom and Dad talk about the best episode of Game of Stoned to date. Boom.   In The Winds of Winter, we are entranced with new pacing and structure, highlighting a mini-film of sorts that takes us through Cersei's impressive middle finger to all of Kings Landing and all that follows. From the destruction of the Great Sept, to the end of the reign of King Tommen, times of changed big time. This is also the episode that features the reveal, years in the making. The one everyone has waited for. It's R+L=J time, and the scene is as beautiful and devastating as one can imagine. Young Ned stares into the eyes of a baby Jon, Lyanna dying beside him, and as music swells and promises are made we are taken back to present-day Jon, our hero. Get tissues. We also talk about whether we should continue recapping Game of Thrones. In an exquisitely orchestrated series of unexpected events, we are left sated and curious. Who knew Game of Thrones could still surprise us? And even after reading fan theory upon fan theory, (sound, thorough theories) the show still managed to take us into uncharted territory while confirming the most popular GoT theory of all… R+L=J. I think we all knew that to be true, but it certainly feels validating to see it on screen. A Song of Fire and Ice surely has more than one meaning, but the key players are Dany and Jon. Sidenote, baby Jon is just as brooding as resurrected Jon. Cute. Jon’s parentage is an important reveal, but the true twist of the episode is the face-off at Riverrun as Arya Stark fed Walder Frey his sons, looked him square in his dispicable face, and killed him exactly how her mother was killed. And then she smiled. I am forced to face the reality that Lady Stoneheart was a heavy-handed Red Herring that gave us her psychopath second daughter to exact the revenge we know is due. I didn’t expect it, but I am at peace with that turn of events. I have long-loved Arya, and this feels good. That does not make me any less wrong. So, you know what that means, right? Yeah, I sing Justin Bieber on this episode because watching Firefly would have been way harder. I am sorry. Listeners of past episodes understand why this had to happen. Beyond the giant elephants of Jon and Arya, the finale served up… • The greatest costume Cersei has ever worn • Scary little birds • Wineboarding • Confessions of a mad queen • A library to end all libraries • The reflecting pool at Dorne • Unnerving passages of time • Sansa’s impeccable evolution • Lady Mormont is the best campaign manager EVAR The Winds of Winter was a phenomenal episode, and gave us much to discuss. I hope you stick around for the entire show as we recap the episode, recall moments that led up to these, and conject about what’s to come. Oh, and you know we read all of your comments, too. The Cast Beyond the Wall: A House of the Dragon Podcast

The Cast Beyond the Wall returns with more Westerosi recapping goodness this week as they give us the breakdown of season 6 episode 3, Oathbreaker. This  Bran's latest dream sequence, Cersei's latest scheme against the Tyrells, and Arya Stark's latest training montage. This week may be lighter on shocking twists and turns, but that doesn't keep it from delivering the old school scheming and verbal sparring that made Game of Thrones a household name. This week has us delving even further down the R+L=J rabbit hole as Caleb, Austin, and Daniel discuss the highly anticipated battle between Ned Stark and Arthur Dayne. Just before getting to the real meat and potatoes of the flashback, Max von Sydow's Three-Eyed Raven swoops in to remove Bran from the greater mystery of the past.  The rest of Westeros continues to be in a state of decay as King Tommen continues to be the world's biggest pushover, the small council is divided between Lannister and Tyrell, and the North's leadership is slowly crumbling to the feet of Ramsey Bolton. This week continues to be dialog driven set up with a few surprises including the Jon Snow's final decision as the the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.  Essos continues to be a real snooze fest with Arya's training spinning its wheels while Daenerys continues to retread her old narrative stomping grounds.  The show continues to move at a rapid pace and the gang here at The Cast Beyond the Wall are excited to lay out their favorite theories and predictions.
