Key 4: I must see myself through my knew identity in Christ Matt 16:13-20 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”14So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”16Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”17Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [g]prevail against it. 19And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth [h]will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”20Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.II Corinthians 5:16-18 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/Keepingitbiblical?fan_landing=true)

Key 3 God has already provided you with the power to be free: 1. There is more to the born again experience then just the forgiveness of your sins:· There is the creation of a new being born of GodI John 3:9 “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”II Corinthians 5:16-19 “Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”2. To exercise faith, I must realize I already have been set free:· I have to connect with my spirit man.Romans 7:21-25 “I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!”Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/Keepingitbiblical?fan_landing=true)

Matthew 7:7-8: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.5 rights that are good gifts God gives his Children:1. Love2. Joy3. Peace4. Victory5. Freedom 1. Love:Romans 8:31-39 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written:“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.2. & 3. Joy & Peace:Romans 14:17: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.4. Victory:II Corinthians 2:14 ” Now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the aroma of his knowledge by us in every place.”Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”5. I am accepted in Christ: Romans 15:7 “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”The enemy will use traumatic experiences to develop strongholds in our life. What may be a traumatic experience to one person may not be to another. What creates a traumatic experience in our life, that can develop into a stronghold, is how we respond to that experience. How I respond can be contributed to many reasons, my age, gender, understanding of what happened, and past experiences. When we have a traumatic experience that produces the feeling of rejection, that can be a very painful experience and one that is not easy to forget.Rejection can produce mistrust, suspicion, the inability to bond with others, feelings of inadequacy and depression. The enemy will use these lies to build strongholds in your life. This is why it is so important to know you have been accepted by God in Christ. Not that you feel accepted all the time, but that you know you are accepted. What changes the power these strongholds have on us is the truth of the gospel, it sets us free. It does change what has happed in the past, but the truth allows us to walk in the spirit so we won’t be brought down or in bondage to the flesh.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/Keepingitbiblical?fan_landing=true)

The Romans used it to exile prisoners there to do hard labor. 2. Author: is John the apostle of Jesus· Some scholars believe it is some other John due to the writing is a different style then John’s other writings.· I’m not surprised it is different: John is not the same man he was 50 years ago, 50 years ago he was more of a fleshly man and he thought like a fleshly man. He has been walking in the spirit for 50 years and his relationship to Jesus is not the same. The Jesus that John will confront on the island of Patmos will not be the same Jesus he laid his head on his chest at the last supper. The Jesus that John will see in haven as a lamb slain before the thrown of God, will not be the same Jesus that he walked with on the shores of Galilee. John’s relationship with Jesus has grown, John sees him differently, and is more spiritly intimate with Jesus. Q- Have we grown in our relationship with Jesus? 3. John’s character: · John saw farther into eternity past than anyone else:· John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.· John saw farther into eternity future than anyone else:Q-Why is John the one to see these things?Revelation 1: 9,10 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. Ver 10: I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpetQ- What does it mean he was in the spirit?“I came to a state of ecstasy capable of receiving revelation.”“God chooses the least likely time in John’s life to unveil his plans for the earth, the church and the second coming of Christ.”God is above in convincing us“We as Christians possess somethings that came apart of the packet of salvation, they are called Graces. But those graces that we have are of the greatest value to us when we are going through the deepest trials and test.”“John had to set aside, he had to make a conscious decision, that no matter what was happening to him in the flesh, so his attitude and character would be one that made it possible to receive this revelation.Q-How would we have handle the injustice, pain, the uncertainty, the feelings of abandonment? The warm sun beating down and the rhythm of the tireless waves only added to his despair of loneliness. His call & faith demanded action, but he was isolated to an island in hopes his message would be lost to the rocks and hills. He missed the ministry, preaching, teaching and telling others, as he has done for the last 50 years. He longed to lay hands on someone and pray for their healing or redemption. His desire was collective worship, oh, to hear the songs of the community of faith as they blend their voices in sounds of victory to their conquering king. As Jeremiah of old, the word burned like fire in his heart. One day he finds himself in the spirit on the Lords day, the loneliness for ministry and the fear of uncertainty are broken by the Presence of the Alpha and the Omega. John says "I turned to see the voice that spoke with me." At that moment John is rewarded for his courage and stubborn faithfulness and the book of Revelation is born.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/Keepingitbiblical?fan_landing=true)

Keeping it BiblicalLost Identity Pt. 2Our ability to operate by faith is contingent on what we believe about ourselves. The bible states in 2 Corinthians 5:16-18, that we should no longer evaluate someone by their humanist behavior. We are new creations in Christ and all things are of God now. We allow the enemy to point out our mistakes and struggles and it sends us into unbelief which hinders our faith. We must start seeing ourselves as spiritual beings wash in the blood of Christ and set apart for Gods use.Key Points:We must be willing to face our spiritual enemyWe must stand on who we are in Christ and not who we are in the fleshWe must remember Jesus already defeated the spiritual world of darkness at the cross, you just need to remind him he is defeated. Keeping it Biblical#3 Lost Identity part 1The disciples in Matthew 17, found themselves without Jesus and a father had a boy who needed to supernatural work of a power filled Church. What he found was disciples who "without" Jesus didn't believe enough in themselves to carry on the work of the Kingdom of God. How we view ourselves has as much to do with our faith as how we view God, the disciples unbelief came not from how they viewed God, but how they viewed themselves.Key Points:We can't operate in faith and work the works of the kingdom of God as long as we see our inadequacies. What we do is not our identity, but what we do and what we can't do is an example of how we view ourselves.Faith is affected by our unbelief and much of our unbelief comes from are acceptance in our own good works or the lack of themAs long as we believe we don't measure up, or we are some how unworthy our faith will be hindered from working to promote the kingdom of GodSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/Keepingitbiblical?fan_landing=true)
