Jason and Scott are going through the journey to complete every Kingdom Hearts game. Jason is a huge fan of the series, but Scott was always put off by hearing how convoluted the story can get. This is his first time going through the game. They both will go through the game and break down the story, so Scott can easily understand and also let the listeners follow along for others that got confused or are curious about what Kingdom Hearts is.

This week we go over the HD cinematics for Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover! This is a companion piece of the mobile game Kingdom Hearts χ (later rebranded as Kingdom Hearts Union X). We go over the 5 foretellers and the Master of Masters. As of this recording, we still don't know where some of these aspects are heading in the franchise's lore.
This week we finish Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-! We see where exactly this game takes place in the Kingdom Hearts timeline. Aqua teams up with Mickey as in Critical Mode makes the game easier as Mickey can heal! We even go through some of the post game content and see where Kingdom Hearts III begins.
This week we begin Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-! Its basically a glorified tech demo of Kingdom Hearts 3 as the franchise now uses the Unreal Engine. We guide Aqua in the realm of darkness as we see Cinderella's and Snow White's world.
We go over the end game content of Dream Drop Distance
This week, we continue Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance with Riku's Story of The World That Never Was. Here it is, part 1 of our 2 part finale for Dream Drop Distance. This time around, we break up the final world to look into Riku's side where we get our major plot twist and find out the truth of his role, which was staring us throughout the game from the back of his jacket. We also air out our frustrations with the hardest boss battle we both had, which is the Anti Black Coat.
This week, we continue Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance with Symphony of Sorcery. We go into the world of Fantasia as there is hardly any talking in this world. Sora and Riku go into different music movements and we go into the censorship in the various home releases of the movie.
TRON!
This week, we continue Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance with Country of the Musketeers. Here we go into the world for the straight to DVD movie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers. And we have to ask - WHY?! As there are plenty of more memorable Mickey Mouse adventures that have both Donald and Goofy. Riku saves Minnie as Sora joins the Musketeers to battle Captain Pete and the Beagle Boys. It's all for 1 and 1 for all!
This week, we continue Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance with Prankster's Paradise. We go into the world of Pinocchio where Sora and Riku has 2 different areas. Riku is back inside Monstro while Sora is on Paradise Island. Jason also rants about the recent live action version of the Disney movie and why he got upset about the Paradise Island scene which was killed by 1 obvious ADR line added. We also go back to Traverse Town as we hit the midpoint of the game.
This week, we continue Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance with the first Disney world, La Cité des Cloches. We go into the world The Hunchback of Notre Dame where we meet Quasimodo, Phoebus, Esmerelda, and Frollo. Get to grind rails and fight a Wargargoyle as we see that both stories don't really interact with each other and show different fates for the characters.
This week, we begin Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. We start the HD version of this game as we finally moved on from Kingdom Hearts I.5 + II.5 to Kingdom Hearts II.8 Final Chapter Prologue. We go over the Dream Eaters and the whole sleep mechanic as that is how we switch between Sora and Riku in this game. And we go over the first world, which is Traverse Town, but this time we meet the characters from The World Ends With You. Jason also talks about some of the mechanics of the original 3DS version of this game.
This week, we finish Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. We go through what we THINK is the final battle, only to be bamboozled to see there is a whole new plot with Mickey saying the most trailer like line ever. We go over how the gameplay was in the DS version of the game and talk about how the story comes to a screeching halt in the final episode. Also, we talk about the newly added scenes that are only in the HD cinematics version of this game.
This week, we start Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. We are only watching the HD cinematics as that is the only way we can experience it on PS4, but we go over the origins of this game including the Japanese only mobile version and the international version on the Nintendo DS. We go over all the Disney worlds of this game as Jason tells you the gameplay that was presented in the DS version.
This week, we wrap up Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep by playing the Final Mix exclusive Secret Episode. This originally was made for the Japanese version Final Mix of the game, but thankfully the HD remakes include this level as well. We find out what happens to Aqua after the game ended and see she is now battling Heartless in a dark void. We also go over the Xehanort Reports and give explanations on why Vanitas and Sora look alike.
This week, we play the Final Episode of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Here it is - the final moments of Birth by Sleep, as this save only grants us access to one boss fight. Which is the hardest story boss in the franchise, as Aqua faces Terra-Xehanort. We go over our thoughts about this fight and the cutscenes surrounding it and explain the origins of other moments from the previous games we played.
This week, we finish Aqua's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep by going to the Keyblade Graveyard. We start at a brief visit to the Mysterious Tower where we get our D-Links with Donald and Goofy. Then we head to the final world where Aqua teams up with Mickey to take down Braig and Vanitas. We go over Aqua's ending and discover that there is a final episode after this which we will go over next time.
This week, we continue Aqua's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep by going to the final Disney Worlds and Destiny Islands. Aqua now gets to meet Hercules, Stitch, and Peter Pan as she goes on the tour discovering she is late meeting Terra in all 3 worlds. We even have a run-in with Vanitas as we go into Destiny Islands to fill in those pesky gaps left in Kingdom Hearts 1. Also, anyone actually used the Keyblade that was given to you in Neverland?
This week, we continue Aqua's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep by going to Radiant Garden and Disney Town. Here, Aqua meets Kairi and sets the motion for how she will be meeting Sora. Also, we get to battle the same Unversed that we did in Radiant Garden for Terra and Ven and Aqua gets to say hello to Vanitas. After that, we explore the final Disney Town mini-game Fruit Scatter and see why not many people remember that mini-game.
This week, we start Aqua's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We now start the final third of the game as we visit the first 3 worlds from Aqua's point of view. Also, she has the endings for all 3 world's and even interacts with both Terra And Ventus during her adventure.
This week, we complete Ventus's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We finally see Ven's side of the story before Terra fights Master Eraqus. Afterward, Ventus has his final one on one with Vanitas! We even get cameos from Donald and Goofy!
This week, we complete the final 3 Disney Worlds of Ventus's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We join up with Hercules and Zack in the Olympus Coliseum, as Ven and Herc have a whole conversation about their nicknames. Afterward, we go into Deep Space as we see more of the touching side of Experiment 626. Scott gets disappointed when he learns that Aqua won't travel to Hawaii with the alien. Then we end our journey at Never Land, as Ven meets with the boy who never grows up as they are on an adventure to get the pirate treasure.
This week, we are at the halfway point of Ventus's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We go to the Badlands where we have a tough battle with the Boy in the Mask (who we know is Vanitas), but we get saved by Mickey as we team up with the Disney Icon. Afterward, we find Ven in Radiant Gardens, where we meet up with a lot of the Somebodies of the future Organization XIII. We even get to meet with Scrooge as he gives us the tickets to our next world which is Disney Town as we go through one of the most hated mini-games in the franchise - Ice Cream Beat.
This week, we start Ventus's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We go through a lot of the same cut scenes in Land of Departure, then we go into the first 3 worlds which are Dwarves Woodlands, Castle of Dreams, and Enchanted Dominion. We see that even though these are the same worlds that Terra went through, the levels themselves are different as Ven travels to the different parts that Terra never went through. In fact, in Cinderella's World sees the most change as Ven is shrunk to the size of a mouse as he is aiding Jaq. Also this game gives us a Jaq translation in the subtitles.
This week, we finish Terra's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We first enter the Badlands, just to go back to the Land of Departure, only to return back to the Badlands, which is revealed to be the Keyblade Graveyard. Did we lose you yet? We have several boss fights and we also now know how the Lingering Will from Kingdom Hearts II originated. We also go over why the Birth by Sleep video in Kingdom Hearts II have capes while the game does not and how this version does a tiny update to keep up with continuity.
This week, we reached the final Disney Worlds for Terra's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Olympus Colosseum and Neverland. Terra gets to meet Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII with Hades. Then, after visiting the world of Hercules, we go to the world of Neverland and fight against Peter Pan. Afterward, we go to Destiny Islands to witness the origins of Riku becoming a Keyblade wielder.
This week, we reached the halfway point of Terra's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We go over Terra's meeting with Xehanort in the Badlands (which isn't playable at the moment). Then travel to the origins of Hollow Bastion, Radiant Garden, where we see the Braig who we know will become Xigbar later in the franchise, and see how he gets his scars. We also encounter one of the scenes we will see 3 times from each character. After that, we discuss the worlds of Disney Town and Deep Space.
This week, we continue Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Terra's story. We go over the mechanics that we like about the game, and Scott discovers why Jason can spend hours playing it. We also go over the worlds of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Cinderella, and the Mysterious Tower. Furthermore, we even bring up that Susan Blakesee voices the 3 villains from the first 3 worlds and if you put all 3 in a room and close your eyes, you won't know which character is talking.
This week, we start Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. This is Jason's favorite game from the series, as he goes over what he really loved and why he couldn't put the game down. We start with the tutorial and then jump into Terra's story since he is the first selection. We go over the differences between the PSP and HD versions and even go over the now defunct multiplayer portion of the game - the Mirage Arena. Also, we see the origins of Maleficent stealing the princesses of light's hearts. Furthermore, this game provides a Star Wars vs Star Trek scenario!
This week, go over the final half of Kingdom Hearts 358/2. We watch the rest of the cinematics from the HD collection of this game. We even go through the newly animated scene that was added after the PS3 version was released. (To watch that scene on the PS4, you do have to download the free DLC item). We learn all about Xion and find out why she wasn't mentioned in Kingdom Hearts 2. Also Scott realizes why Axel is such a loved character as we go through so far the most emotional part of the series.
This week, go over the first 171 days of Kingdom Hearts 358/2. Ahh, the one game where people point to where they say, "Kingdom Hearts have the most random nonsense titles". Well, we go over the meaning of the title and even though we only talk about the HD cinematics version of this title, we do briefly go over the gameplay of it as well. We meet Xion and go over the bonds between Roxas and Axel and where exactly this story takes place in the timeline. Also to answer the question from the title, it's 365.
This week, go over the postgame content of Kingdom Hearts II by going to Atlantica and 100 Acre Woods. The Little Mermaid's world has been reduced to a rhythm game, and we go back to see Winnie the Pooh, just to see he has forgotten our past adventure. We also go over the added Final Mix content as we see the Data Organization XIII fight and the extremely hard boss fight, Lingering Will. Then wrap everything up by looking at the Secret Ansem Reports and placing everything into the timeline.
This week, finish Kingdom Hearts II by going to Twilight Town and The World That Never Was. We are now in the eleventh hour, and it's time for a large story dump and a massacre with the remaining survivors of Organization XIII! We get all of our questions answered about Roxas, including the origins of his name. Not only that, but we find out who Naminé is a Nobody of, and explain how that happens, and Riku returns! Also, Scott and Jason compare their endgame results as well.
This week, we return to the worlds of The Lion King and Tron in Kingdom Hearts II. We are back in the Pride Lands just to have more filler story, as this time we don't even have Pete in the world. But Simba does get haunted by the spooky ghost Scar. After an entertaining boss battle, we return to Hollow Bastion as we see the Heartless from Space Paranoids invade it. Forcing us a reunion with Tron and Sora gets his first hug ever! Also, Scrooge McDuck giving away ice cream for free? What's going on here?
This week, we return to the worlds of Aladdin and The Nightmare Before Christmas in Kingdom Hearts II. Our return of the 90s tour begins here as we play the second half of Agrabah's story. It loosely resembles The Return of Jafar, but Jason will point out those differences. And no Jason Alexander in this game either! After that, we return to Halloween Town as Jack has a new outfit, and we must find the present thieves, even though it might mean beating up children to get that information.
This week, we return to the worlds of The Pirates of the Caribbean and Hercules in Kingdom Hearts II. More pirate hi jinx in Port Royale as we officially meet Organization member, Luxord. The pirate curse is back, and we must gather all 882 gold medallions to lift it. After that, we return to Olympus Coliseum and team up with Hercules again and unbrainwash Auron so that he can return to "his story". If you never watched the Disney Hercules movie or played Final Fantasy X, you'd be losing a lot of contexts that the story in this game doesn't provide. But at least we get to hear some audio from Final Fantasy X.
This week, we return to the worlds of Mulan and The Beauty and the Beast in Kingdom Hearts II. Scott and Jason discuss how returning to the worlds previously played in this game feel more like padding to content than new content. We first return to The Land of Dragons to see what Mulan is up to and then show off our Spider-Man skills due to the game trying to recreate a moment that was in the movie but wasn't shown in the game. After that, we see Xaldin again at Beast's Castle, causing the most challenging Disney world fight in the entirety of this game! Thank goodness for Mickey and Stitch!!
This week, we go to the worlds of Tron and return to Hollow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts II. It's Kingdom Hearts II's mid-season finale. Where we return to Hollow Bastion and learn why Organization XIII is trying to control Kingdom Hearts and everything we thought we knew from Kingdom Hearts I was untrue. Scott gets to play in Space Paranoids, where it's based on his favorite movie Tron! Lots of action, lots of Final Fantasy, and what almost looks like a major character death (NO WAY DISNEY WOULD ALLOW THAT CHARACTER TO GO!). Before we go into one of the biggest moments of the game so far, Jason and Scott talk about what they thought of the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers movie and talk about those Kingdom Hearts references.
This week, we go to the worlds of Lion King and return to Twilight Town in Kingdom Hearts II. Pride Lands is an entirely optional world in the game, as you can complete it without touching that world. Here we see that Sora is turned […]
This week, we go to the worlds of Aladdin and The Nightmare Before Christmas in Kingdom Hearts II. We disappoint Scott as we visit 2 worlds that were visited back in the first Kingdom Hearts game. This time though, Agrabah has a different layout as […]
